Guest Reviews
- sheila (8/5): - Lovely people and very helpful
- Christine (8/5): - Comfortable bed. Staff were friendly
No meals included
- alexandra (8/5): - Easy to walk to from station .minus side not handy for getting food.Room very comfotable
- Nicholas (8/5): NDR Review - Room was very clean and well appointed. Would suggest rounding off the corners of the wooden bedframes, as I grazed my leg on one. (Room 3)
Good value and convenient for the hospital. Would recommend.
- Stanley (8/5): - Was very fair for the price and location. It was very clean and centrally located.
- Philip (10/5): Great stopover. - Easy check in and check out. Very comfortable bed, room spotless, plenty of tea and coffee. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Inexpensive stop over. Plenty of parking and close to all transport links. Use regularly.
- Uzoukwu (8/5): - Quite and clean rooms
- James (10/5): - Could do with selling food and drink
- Alexander (8/5): - Plenty of free on-street parking.
Much better inside than it looked from the outside. When I arrived, I thought "Oh no, what have I done when I booked this place." The front door of the building, and the entrance lobby, look very unappealing. But once you are up on the first floor/inside the room, it is much better. The bedroom was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, and the en suite bathroom was lovely.
The place has character as well - I enjoyed the Trainspotting theme.
- Carlos (2/5): - Definitely not a Hotel, just someone's house renting some rooms to make his livings, untidy smelly and not pleasant so sorry but is a no no for ever. Shouldn't be advertised as a Hotel £100 1 night???? Easy money to get from someone after travelling from Inverness to end up with a really bad place to stay.
- Elsie (2/5): - Never stayed as our hospital oppiment was cancelled and said to they could we cancel they said no every other hotel least gives some % back them none as we would re book when we got another date no nothing .
- Mark (8/5): - Lovely little budget hotel - no problems.
- Cathy (10/5): Don’t let the exterior put you off! - Don’t let the outside of the hotel put you off! I had a large room with en-suite, tea & coffee, large tv, staff friendly, room very clean. View out the window not great but the price is very good for the room itself. I would stay again 😊
- David (8/5): - Very friendly. Very quiet. East parking. Huge room. Very comfortable bed.
- LINDSEY (4/5): - This was a huge disappointment. Pictures make the property look much nicer than it is. The place has a terrible smell. I felt dirty as everything was run down and dirty on the property. The room seemed clean. The area around the property was not all that great. I didn't leave the room and was glad to get out of there in the morning.
I paid WAY too much for the stay there. I felt robbed for what I got. I spotless absolutely not recommend the place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable, affordable hotel. Simple but spacious rooms and 10 minutes walk from a large shopping centre.
- Denok (8/5): - Very satisfied with my stay, cheap
- Harley (2/5): They couldn't pay you enough to stay in this place - My driver refused to stay in this hotel. The location looks a state from the outside but the photos looked good on the inside so we booked. My driver said that the photos were misleading as it may look like a Holiday Inn sort of room, but it's wooden paneling from the '80s. Floor was filthy, cups were filthy and the room gave my driver claustrophobia. No joke.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Basic room only.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Fine.
- DAVID K (10/5): Memorable Stay - I was quite pleasantly surprised on just how nice this establishment is --- clean, good accommodations, friendly staff. In fact, I had a memorable evening in the pub downstairs, shooting pool with staff and other customers on the last night that pubs were open in Scotland due to the virus.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we arrived we were checking in the lady wasn’t aware of our booking. we got the keys and she walked us up. She did not communicate to us. The room looked absolutely nothing like the photos online, it was filthy there was hair which looked like pubic hair on the bed. There were stains on the bedding. The towels the felt crusty. The window sill was hanging off. There was a large hole in the wall, which had a piece of wood at the bottom, I’m assuming it was to prevent anyone from touching it. we came back to the room after our concert we could not get in the doors due to the small pub being packed with intoxicated people singing, dancing and shouting. Eventually when we managed to get in we could not sleep until after 1am due to the noise. the next morning when we were checking out we both had an alarm on to ensure we had more than enough time to get all of our belongings and leave. But we got woken up as we heard someone outside of the door saying “they only have 1 hour left I am going to wake them up” as we left we went to hand the keys back, the woman pointed to which door to exit from. She didn’t thank us for staying or anything. To be honest the staff there are very rude and made us feel very awkward. We will definitely will not be staying there again
- Janine (8/5): Contractor - Perfect for what I needed with all basics.
- Steven (6/5): - Good bed and bathroom but was noisy could do with double glazing noise from aircraft etc and from the bar
- Debbie (8/5): - Lovely clean room staff excellent just missing a mirror in the room
- Anna (2/5): Hotel might not be open - Nobody answered the door. Because of a delayed flight we arrived at 1am. We had contacted them earlier in the day and they said it would not be a problem. When we showed up at 1 am nobody answered the door or phone so we had to book another hotel. Hotels.com also tried to contact them through email and phone and after 5 days still did not get a response from them.
- paul (10/5): - Super little hotel great staff
- ALLAN kINNAIRD (8/5): Great little hotel good value for money. - Very clean and large room. Only downside no heating on and it was quite cold during the night.
Would stay there again, very handy for the Jubalee hospital
- Colin (10/5): Douglas Hotel - *****+ - The Hotel itself is a really nice cosy little hotel, which was perfect for our visit. The employees were very friendly which also made our short stay perfect.
- ian (8/5): - Room was comfortable and although a little small
Tony in bar was welcoming and friendly
- Trevor (10/5): - Great spotless room with great power shower and the staff and locals where friendly and welcoming. Will book again without question better
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Stayed overnight to enable easy journey early morn to nearby hospl.hotel situated in a run down area, bedrooms above a pub. Bedroom was basic , but clean & comfortable for our purpose.
- Angela (8/5): Good budget hotel with lively bar - Alsong as you take this place for what it is and understand the bar will be full of locals until 12 at night then its very good. Staff are really helpful amd friendly, room is a nice size with good ensuit with kettle/tea/coffee/biscuits
- Verified traveler (6/5): Value for money - Friendly welcome and quick check in in the bar. Room as expected and was clean and comfortable. TV very high on wall and small but ok for one night. Couldn’t connect to WiFi as signal too weak. No hairdryer in room and hotel is on a flight path for Glasgow airport so some noise late and early.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really loverly last who checked us in, didn’t look much from the outside but the interior and staff certainly made up for it.
Would happily stay again and much appreciated the late check in
- Verified traveler (6/5): - location not convenient and no wi-fi , room was very small, the bathroom was good, a local pub and friendly patrons, ok for me but nothing much else.
I would not stay here again.
- Gary (8/5): Holiday visiting family - Nice friendly hotel, staff very good, well located, room 2 was great and had a fridge, my 3rd stay will be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent value, lovely friendly staff. Close to main shopping centre in Clydebank and only 5 miles from Braehead shopping centre. A hidden gem. Would definitely recommend a stay....
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very friendly staff. The room was basic with the stone fireplace exposed but yet to be completed. The bathroom was modern but the shower requires attention as the water drains slowly, therefore, backs up when taking a shower, unpleasant...
Requested a TV remote control as the allocated one had been stollen! Another one was produced from another room.
Wifi is very poor to non-existent in this room. Overall not bad for the cost, just the shower letting it down.
- Sean (10/5): - Staff where great with my boy and very helpful would stay there next time I'm in Clydebank thanks for making my couple day great
- Michael (10/5): Great stay - When I arrived it was dark and I was dubious as to the type of accommodation I had booked.
The outside of the building could do with a tidy up and a lick of paint.
I was met by the barman who was pleasant and helpful.
I stayed in a single room which was modern and comfortable, which looks like it has been recently decorated.
I would definitely book again.
- David (6/5): Basic but comfortable. - Don't judge a book by its cover! If you just need a bed for a night with no frills then this place does the job. The rooms have clearly been recently refurbished to a very good standard. I had a comfortable stay and was very reasonably priced. Not much locally but a short drive away from local shops/restaurants.
- Perry (10/5): Great one night stay - I had just driven down from the north to drop off my dad at the airport in the early morning so it was late getting there and early away but the host was incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was clean and stylish and the beds were super comfortable.
- Ehsanul (10/5): - Hidden little gem in the depths of Clydebank. Close to golden jubilee hospital. Single room was surprisingly modern with nice shower-room en suite.
- Quinn (10/5): - Excellent experience; staff and patrons of the pub were friendly and accommodating to a wandering Canadian- top notch hospitality!
- Leah (8/5): - It was a quiet little place tucked into a little community that had a great little pub attached to it. People were welcoming and pleasant
- Najima (10/5): Amazing surprise. Love to stay here again - Surprisingly it was a pub hotel. Nevertheless the rooms were so modern even though we read some previous negative reviews. Our room was amazingly comfortable and very modern with amazing bed, shower and usb switch right beside the bed on either side. Just a lovely experience
- MARGARET (10/5): Lovely big room - Lovely big room, very comfy bed, very very clean staff were so friendly .
Was great for an overnight stay so we could attend a function
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Walked through a BAR to actually access hotel. Very run down building. Bathroom Dirty. No one there to check out in morning; just had to leave the key in the room.
- May (10/5): - Excellent small hotel would certainly use again very friendly staff room was lovely very comfortable.
- Linda (6/5): Scary outside, comfortable room. - We arrived late on a Friday night. There was a vacant lot opposite and it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere! The outside looked derelict and scary. We were greeted warmly by the lady manager who led through into the main bar which was full of locals having a good time. Once upstairs the room was modern , clean and comfortable. Apart from some bar noise we slept well. No fancy foyer or receptionist but a good comfortable room. Not sure about the area as we didn’t leave our room until morning.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A pleasant surprise - The interior of the hotel and rooms is newly refurbished throughout, with excellent beds and facilities, also very friendly and efficient staff. No problem with parking nearby.
Less than 10 minutes walk from Clydebank centre and the Titan crane. Local taxis all very efficient and friendly, rail and bus stations very central next to a shopping centre.
- Robert (10/5): Spot on - Felt at home as soon as I arrived.
Nothing to fault whatsoever. Would highly recommended 👌😄
- Robert (10/5): 5 star - I’ve stayed up and down the uk for three years now and I was very impressed with everything at this hotel.
Staff are friendly and welcoming and the service offered is amazing.
Would definitely recommend to others.
