Guest Reviews
- Dunbar (7/5): Woodlands was a great place to stay for 4 adults and two young children. - Property is close to the Aviemore shops, well equipped kitchen and utility room with large rooms and two bathrooms worked well for us.
- Dickson (6/5): Fabulous property just missing the basics - Location was lovely, size and space was great. Dog friendly No basics e.g. dishwasher tablets, salt and pepper, soap, tea or coffee, very little toilet roll.
- Sophie (9/5): -
- Apakitsa (10/5): It's very good, but with some important imperfections! - It's very comfortable house. It has all the facilities. The design is beautiful and very practical. It's actually a very good value for a big family for the weekends. It has all needed facilities and it is good that it's near to city centre. The beds by the way were very comfortable! Don't take it please as a pure criticism but rather as a suggestion to make it better. Anyway me and my family were very satisfied and happy.
The cleanliness is not the best. I mean it was a bit dusty in rooms. I would like to suggest to keep it cleaner.
Also, in one of the bathrooms for some reason the heating wasn't working at all, and it was quite freezing in there, therefore we had a shower in the other bathroom.
- Jennie (10/5): Brilliant stay in a wonderful house - didn’t want to leave! - Really lovely house with that undefinable but all important ‘feel’ - spacious yet felt cosy too and a really nice vibe which meant we instantly felt at home. Great location and the beds were really comfortable. I normally sleep badly when away from home but I slept brilliantly here. Nothing, it was great.
- Heather (8/5): Excellent house which met our needs, clean and well presented . Quiet and safe location - Location was fab …. Easy walk into the centre of Aviemore , safe and very quiet Small touches , light bulb in front porch was out as well as the twin room . Main radiator in lounge didn’t work however the host provided a small plug in to Rectify this
- Eileen (8/5): -
- Bhavya (9/5): Perfect Value for Money - The location was absolutely perfect, and the host was extremely cooperative and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended! N/A
- Joanne (9/5): Perfect accommodation for our stay. Would definitely recommend. - It is spacious and modern in a great location. It had all the amenities needed for our weekend away. The bedrooms were clean, cosy and gorgeous.
Check in was easy and hassle free.
The tv in the living room is huge which was an added bonus.
Perfect accommodation and would definitely recommend. We hope to stay again. Nothing.
- Stuart (10/5): Amazing Stay. - Lovely and clean, great location for heading to Loch Morlich & the Cairn Gorms.
The house allowed us to meet with family and friends. Nothing.
- Graeme (10/5): Great location if u like the outdoors - Lovely self catering holiday home for our family of four. Only one thing missing was a microwave. The weather
- Shirley (9/5): Beautiful house but a long walk - Beautiful house and very comfortable Location was too far away from the centre. Not enough keys for the amount of people able to stay. WiFi information in folder not accurate.
- ANTONIO (8/5): Estancia agradable - La casa es bonita y cómoda, tiene un jardín perfecto para hacer barbacoas Los colchones, en particular los de las camas individuales, necesitan renovar
- Shona (10/5): Great home base for Aviemore trip. - Beautiful house, comfortable and clean. Had a great Aviemore trip with friends. About 20 minutes walk to Aviemore centre but through lovely woodland so not a chore at all. Would go back.
- Arpita (6/5): Nice place, could do with a few improvements - Location and ambience was good, it was clean , nice garden. Nice crockery in kitchen 1) Light at entrance not functioning
2) Could not watch TV because of major flickering
3) Very difficult to use microwave and oven with limited and difficult instructions
4) Flooding of shower cubicle in spite of informing plumber
- Derek (10/5): - Loved everything about the house very spacious. good parking and not too far from the centre of Aviemore but still very quiet and relaxing.
A credit to the owner's. We couldn't get the patio doors to open, as there didn't seem to be a key, but it was only a minor issue as we could still get access through the kitchen to the back garden.
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marina (9/5): Superb - Very clean, near city centre, beatiful table in the garden No tea and coffe for breakfast
- Wesley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darbyshire (9/5): Very enjoyable - Clean and comfortable It would be helpful for there to have been some toiletries which meant an extra trip to Tesco for shampoo and soap
- Pam (10/5): Great location & Cara responded immediately! - It was clean & well looked after. Location was great but will definitely need to drive into Aviemore - too far to walk. Nothing
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional -

- Alison (10/5): A perfect stay - can’t wait to return! - Everything about the property was perfect for us. Warm and cosy, spacious, dog friendly, very well equipped and welcoming. We didn’t want to leave! -
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional - The house is perfectly situated in a quiet area in Aviemore.
The home is lovely, spacious and warm. It was easy to gain access to the property after receiving instructions from the owner.
Communication between the owner and ourselves was very easy and clear.
We hope to visit again. Noticed the fridge had to be switched on.
Not that's a big deal.
- David (10/5): Fabulous stay in a luxury lodge - It was a lodge to sleep 6 and was very well fitted out with everything that you would need. Immaculate and perfect for a short break.
- Susan (9/5): Excellent break for the family and dogs in a lovely property - Excellent location , great walks for the dogs close by. Property spotless . Back door light didn’t work but torches were provided . Not great to see dogs at night in the garden and it maybe in process of being repaired by.
- Archie (9/5): Lovely house, quiet location - Everything Nothing
- Alison (7/5): Nice, well positioned spacious property - Spacious, good location and was extremely clean Has a decent fully enclosed back garden which is separated by a bit of ground to the A9 so there is consistent traffic noise. Nice patio but unfortunately the patio doors are inaccessible as no key is provided to open them. Also a few faulty fixtures and fittings reported on arrival. Unfortunately these messages were not responded to acknowledge whether these were known issues.
No store cupboard essentials provided. We have stayed frequently in Aviemore and it is quite unusual to find this.
- Pieter (9/5): Superb -
- Euan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Luc (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (10/5): A wonderful family house - Clean, new and excellent family home. Could not find fault with anything and all within a simple drive into Aviemore.
- Christopher (6/5): Great location, some additional touches would have made us feel really well cared for - We really liked the location. Fantastic spot just by extensive woodland and close by where we needed to go in Aviemore.
Really quiet neighbourhood which was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable and the garden was great for the dogs.
Our host was really responsive before and during our stay - especially when arranging pets to stay.
Arranging access to the house was also very easy. The kitchen and bathroom floors were wet on arrival and there were cigarette butts in the dog water bowl.
We were disappointed to find that there was no key for the doors to the patio and we would have preferred that the hosts were upfront about this - previous reviews show this is an ongoing issue.
Some of the information available on the website is a little out of date so might be worth updating this (e.g. no bbq on site) :)
A really nice added touch would have been to add some cleaning products e.g. dishwasher tablets, basic amenities like salt or a few tea bags - this is something we’ve always really appreciated when going away.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious property, comfortable beds and couches. Well appointed kitchen. Even though close to the main road very quiet. Not much
- David (10/5): Exceptional -

- Wing (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (10/5): Beautifully furnished and decorated house, beds very comfortable. -
- Linda (10/5): Lovely, clean, well equipped house. Was great for a short break and had everything we needed. - Location of the woodlands was about a half hour walk into the centre. Used a taxi at nights! Only dislike was distance from the centre as my husband has knee trouble and struggles to walk a long way! Apart from that, no other issues
- Vasile (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place, clean and quiet
Not far from town centre and ski resort

- Giorgos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabel (7/5): Good -
- Sarah (8/5): Super comfortable, a little bit of luxury in the highlands - Gorgeous house, decor is lovely. super comfortable too and great location, patio and outdoor area is gorgeous. the only thing that was a tad disappointing was that we couldn't open the patio doors and the bbq was dirty so we didn't really want to use it. apart from that everything was perfect.
- Jean (4/5): perfect accommodation for a relaxing weekend - very spacious and perfect for a group of 6 people with two dogs nothing to comment on
- Vilma (8/5): Nice place at good access to highlands and distilleries. - Nice, spacious home, very clean and comfortable. Host responsive. Did not have basics like coffee, tea, sugar, paper towels, facial tissue. No basic shower soaps or shampoo. if you book bring your own everything or stop at the grocery and pick basic provisions, unlike other places we’ve stayed throughout Scotland. Also many light bulbs out although next day maintenance took care of.
- Caitlin (9/5): Fantastic stay, would highly recommend. Thank you! - Excellent location. Modern and spacious house. Very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Great communication with the host. Nothing we didn’t like! Some basic kitchen essentials like tea, coffee and sugar would have been a nice added touch.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful spacious house, clean, big garden Loved everything
- Richard (10/5): Wonderful winter break - We had a wonderful stay at Woodlands during December when it snowed. It really is a home from home - warm, spacious and spotlessly clean. We liked that all 3 bedrooms are a good size so no one in the family felt like they got the short straw! We had everything we needed and the Christmas tree and other seasonal touches were very thoughtful and much appreciated.
- Caireen (7/5): Super base could be awesome with some little luxurious touches. Will be back xx - I’d really think about doing a welcome pack with some awesome local samples to try from local business and a few teabags/coffees/sugar sweeteners and milk just to get the basics in would be amazing after a long drive to not have to worry about going out to pick up tea and coffee.
Also-bigger towels, the fluffier the better and maybe some toiletries would really sell this is an awesome getaway destination.
Kids mentioned board games too but I get that probably got taken away with covid. Buts hosts are awesome and contactless entry is fab.
- Karl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jim (10/5): Excellent stay and will definitely pick Woodlands next time we visit Aviemore. - House was spotlessly clean and extremely well presented. Nice beds and towels, plenty crockery cutlery etc.
15 - 20 minute walk to the town centre , 5 minute drive.
- Lynn (10/5): Lovely, well-equipped comfortable home from home - Lovely comfortable and well equipped house. A home from home. Convenient location. Would definitely book again.
- Louise (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): We’ll be back! - Spotlessly clean
Baby friendly
Play park very close by
Loads of space
Friendly host Nothing!
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - The house was spotless and and the owner gave us a much information on the area as needed, will definatly go back if we visit the area again. All good, no problems.
