Breakfast, there was nothing they couldn't do better what you asked for was no trouble. Lee (7/5): Great location, lovely hotel. Need to pay attention to small details. - The staff are friendly and very responsive if help is needed. The hotel theme is luxurious and the attached restaurant is wonderful for breakfast and a great experience in the evening for those who enjoy Greek food. They have done a great job refurbishing the hotel but have scrimped on some of the facilities. The in-room kettle, hair dryer and consumables, such as shampoo, are poor quality. Tea, Coffee and UHT milk is basic in choice. These small details do spoil what would otherwise be a safely 4 star hotel experience.
Petra (5/5): Great hotel, but a bit noisy. - The staff were all lovely. The breakfast was good. The chips were amazing! The location, room, balcony and views were great. There were a few issues. The doors slamming all throughout the night, and the pub next door meant i didnt get any sleep on both nights. But thats a guest and environment problem. An issue with the sink, but the staff were all over it. Also, the 2 bedside lamps were completely full of dust unfortunately. They need to be checked and cleaned.

Kimbo & Daz (4/5): Clacton on Sea - Good size room, excellent shower. Staff professional. Weekday breakfast is basic but adequate. Can walk to most places. Loud music from downstairs until midnight on the Wed night. Sound of macerating toilet from next room in our ear ALL NIGHT both nights. The guests in the room next to us (Wed night) came in at 1am and ran the spa until 5am, having loud sex over the next 4 hours, also in our ears. No staff on premises to answer the phone or at reception to assist with the antisocial behaviour! No view of the beach or ocean as we had expected. Just the tired old amusement park pirate boat. We could not use the balcony or have windows open due to smokers on other balconies. Parking charges are high, but this seems to be the case in England. Bed and pillows not comfy.

The hotel is linked to the OXO restaurant where breakfast is served. However the morning staff young girl was very abrupt and at first told us we would have to pay for bfast then I informed her it’s included in our booking. Then she said we can cancel not have one drink coffee/tea. I couldn’t believe what she was saying. I said can you go and check the. She came back saying yes refill tea and coffee but no orange juice that’s charged?????? I m sorry but she was making her own rules. Not want I expect from a good hotel restaurant.

Before booking phoned the hotel to confirm disabled friendly. The bed was uncomfortable. It was very noisy. Noise didn’t calm down until 2am. Had to run the water for 10 minutes before we got hot water.

Lisa-Marie (8/5): - Great location and friendly staff. Bathroom was very small. Broken shower, soaked the bathroom every time we used it. The Toilet is so close to sink that when sat on the toilet, you had to sit sideways or with your knees tucked under the sink. The unit under the main mirror in the room (vanity desk/table, was falling apart and moved every time you put something down or tried to use it to get ready. There was only one bedside lamp, which was a bit annoying. And only one thin pillow each provided....no spares in wardrobe etc.
Mark (9/5): Overall I'm extremely happy with my stay, staff especially and I will be returning. - Excellent location, friendly happy helpful staff, room 106 is outstanding and very large with a massive jacuzzi bath. The bed is very comfortable with decent thick pillows. A small issue with the (huge) TV was resolved swiftly although I had to go out but found the staff had not entered my room without me being there, which is very respectful, the part had been left with the evening reception staff who kindly solved the problem upon my return. The room would benefit from a mini fridge and a list of internal phone numbers to reception etc as the named buttons on the phone do nothing. The only thing I would say is that the balconies appear tidied not cleaned as cobwebs were obvious and some of the furniture has been hit by seagull missiles (which i appreciate must a nightmare to keep up with) but they can be easily be jet washed clean in place.

The room we had was stil noisey until way past 11 pm. We also complained that there was only 1 bedside light and it took 2 days to get a second light. In fairness after complaining we were not charged the £50 extra so that was nice.

Sandra (10/5): I can't wait to return. - I stayed in the princess quarters which had a private balcony with sea view. location perfect in the centre of everything. beach on doorstep. All the staff I meet throughout my stay were very welcoming. which made my stay as a solo traveller enjoyable. I have stayed elsewhere in Clacton on sea in the past. I was so happy I planning to come back very soon for another short break. Monday to Thursday served only continental breakfast, cooked breakfast Friday to Sunday. I missed the option to try this, since my stay was Monday to Thursday.
Nigel (2/5): Stay somewhere else - Great location on the sea front Very clean The whole purpose of a hotel is having a room that you’ve paid for that you can come and go from and use the room as you wish. Unable to check in as not able to enable keys eventually after a very long wait we got a master key to allow getting changed that had to be returned Several calls to the hotel a few hours later we had to return to get a key. Imagine at 23-00 the key didn’t work. Involved several trips up and downsides unable to find staff. Phone call made had to get the manager out of bed with a master key.
