• Alain (7/5): Very Friendly Host, Quiet Location — But With Room for Improvement - I actually found this property quite hard to review — because there’s a lot to like. First of all, the host is very (!) friendly and genuinely kind. You really feel that they care. The location is wonderfully quiet. I’m honestly not sure why others mentioned plane or traffic noise — you’ll hear planes pretty much anywhere in Perth, and here it’s just normal residential background sound. No major traffic at all. It’s also a great spot if you’re heading to Curtin or Murdoch University — easy access and no battling heavy traffic in that direction. And when something goes wrong, they act fast. The toilet unfortunately got blocked during my stay, but a plumber was arranged within two hours, and the host even offered wine and chocolate as a thoughtful apology. Hard to fault that level of responsiveness. Now to the only real issue. I’ve stayed in quite a few Booking.com rentals, and I’ve noticed a pattern I call “downward cleaning.” Floors? Sparkling. Plates? Pristine. Beds? Fresh and lovely. Everything smells great. But if you look up… you often meet the cobwebs. This place follows the same tradition — quite a lot of dust and cobwebs above eye level. After the first day, I mentioned it and asked for a deeper clean, pointing out a few specific spots (I even tried tackling some myself before surrendering). The owner’s daughter kindly came, but understandably only cleaned the areas I highlighted — so the dust in the higher areas largely remained. A few days later the owner asked if everything was okay. Not wanting to sound like a professional complainer, I smiled and said “yes,” while internally whispering “well… almost.” The truth is, there’s still noticeable dust on top of cabinets, light cables, skirting boards, behind the TV, and inside higher shelves. I understand — warm climate, trees nearby — dust happens. But at £150 per night, a proper top-to-bottom deep clean every so often feels reasonable. For some guests, this won’t matter at all. But for people with asthma, heavy dust can genuinely ruin a holiday (or result in a steroid injection instead of a souvenir). I don’t think anyone meant to neglect it — it just needs a thorough “look up as well as down” clean. A quick finger swipe on top of the paintings or inside the upper drawers tells the story. A full deep clean between guests would make this place truly excellent. A newer washing machine, a better-quality mattress, and improved internet speed would make the experience even better.

• JUWON (8/5): - 숙소가 매우 깔끔해서 좋았습니다. 샴푸, 바디 클렌저, 핸드와시, 세탁세제와 디시와싱리퀴드를 준비해주셔서 편하게 잘 이용하였습니다. 주방도구도 거의 다 있어서 따로 구입할 필요가 없었습니다. 집근처가 주택가라 조용하며 꽤 좋은 카페와 공원이 있어서 자주 다녔습니다. 킹스파크까지 차로 10분정도 걸리는 거리에 있어서 좋았습니다. 집공간도 넓은 편이고 가성비가 좋은 숙소로 추천합니다. 문제가 있을 때 호스트가 바로 와서 처리해주셔서 좋았습니다. 더운 나라에서 와서 호주의 약간 쌀쌀한 날씨에 적응하기 힘들었는데 거실에는 히터가능한 에어컨이 있어서 잘 사용하였습니다. 이동용 히터가 하나밖에 없어서 작은방을 따뜻하게 사용할 수 없었던 점이 좀 아쉬웠습니다.

It is well set up and the neighborhood felt really safe. It is only about 15 minutes to the airport and not far from shops and cafes. Annette is lovely and we highly recommend Como Retreat to any travellers.

• Qi (1/5): Very disappointed and horrible experience ever - Good location in a quiet street. However we were frequently woken up in the early morning by the noise of aircrafts. The pest control is a serious problem for this property. I reported to the owner I got a few insect bites the second morning we arrived. She said I might got it from the outside, park or somewhere. We kept spotting many ants and cockroaches in the property. We could feel the ants crawling on us at night. The owner arranged bug man to come but we got more bites after bug man’s visit. We believe these bites were caused by bed bugs as they appeared in clusters. We didn’t want to take risk of staying in that property any more so we moved out four days earlier.The owner promised to refund us $1000(we paid $1278 for four nights’ stay)but we haven’t received any until now. And there’s no response from the owner since we checked out one month ago on 19th of Jan. our kids came to Perth to join Australian Junior Chess Championship. Bad night's sleeps seriously affected their performance.Be aware of booking accommodation for this owner.

From the moment we arrived, Annette was so welcoming and accommodating—she came out immediately to greet us and hand over the keys. The accommodation was exactly as shown in the photos—beautifully clean, cozy, and inviting. It truly felt like a home away from home. Annette went above and beyond by sharing fantastic tips when we mentioned our plans to visit Rottnest Island, as well as recommendations for exploring the local area. The location was absolutely perfect—convenient and easy to get in and out of, which made our travels stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better host or place to stay. Highly recommend this gem in Como!

The area was very pleasant and extremely quiet at night Shopping center in the near vicinity but a longish walk. The second bed room is more suitable as a children's room - we were a party of 3 adults. Bed linen was poorly presented. No tea/coffee/suger or shower soap left as a starter pack.

Has everything you needed just like a home. Has toaster, rice cooker, microwave, and washing machine. Very good place. Surrounding has several parks, too. Quiet place. Maybe extra chairs for family as there's only 2 at the dining and 2 bar stools. Maybe an extra portable that can be put away when not needed.

I’m a bit too short to open the gate, even with the assistance tool provided…but I understand this offers better security…I’m just short!

• S (10/5): Great host, perfect villa - This villa is strategically located to all the amenities. Waterford Shopping Plaza is just about 1km away. Curtin University is opposite this shopping centre. Westfield Carousel shopping mall is about 15 minutes away. The city is less than 25 mins away. The villa itself is self sufficient. It is a home away from home. Annette, the owner lives next door and is such a great host. Nothing not to like about. Maybe the double bed was a little uncomfortable because it’s spring based. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Annette and her girls could not be more helpful and thoughtful. - modern, well maintained and located. small but well designed so it suited a family of four very well. Annette provided teapots as we said we were keen tea drinkers, beach towels because it’s summer, and great basics in the kitchen. nothing!
