• Keith (2/5): - If you are not a party animal staying up until 3am this is not for you. There is a live band bar/restaurant below the ill-fitting French windows that doesn't close till the early hours. The property does not look like the pictures on Expedia. It is very tired with wood missing on the head board, bottom sheets that don't fit, cracked bathroom sink and trailing cables etc. There was a terrible drain smell in the bathroom which they tried to fix two times but couldn't. The fire extinguisher gauge was on zero. Just not good at all.

Si hay algo de ruido pero eso lo avisan claramente antes de hacer la reservación asi que ya sabia que debía esperarlo. La ubicación es muy buena. Distancia a pie de todo asi que eso me gustó.

• Eliyahu (7/5): Good - the room is nice and clean I came very late for a quick night with my 80 years old mom our flat was at the 4th floor without elevator it was not written in the booking its also very noisy and the room even contain earplugs
• Kaitlyn (10/5): Great little apartment!! - Really love this little apartment for a girls trip to Lisbon. We were aware of the noise at night prior to booking, and made sure to pack our ear plugs. It was noisy till 4am, but it didn't disrupt our stay. Best part was the location. Would 100% stay here again if we ever came back to visit Lisbon.
• Seiler (5/5): I do feel slightly dissatisfied with the room due to above faults however location, the access and the communication was - Great location, had all your basic needs and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. We were given a slightly different apartment shown in the photos- the room was tired compared to how modern it appeared online and was not worth the amount we paid. A bad smell came through the drains in the bathroom and there is no ventilation so the room felt damp every time we walked through the door.

La femme de ménage arrive 15 mn plus tard et nous indique de revenir vers 16:00... nous sommes levés depuis 3h du matin 😕 En colère nous repartons et revenons à 16:00 comme convenu...le sol est détrempé, manquons de glisser La cerise sur le gâteau : l'insonorisation des lieux : logement au dessus d'un bar donc des centaines de personnes dans la rue animée jusqu'à 3:00 du matin toutes les nuits, les voisins qui empruntent l'escalier : nous avions l'impression qu'ils étaient dans l'appartement....les 2 paires de bouchons d'oreilles fournis ne résolvent pas tout. pour conclure nous sommes rentrés éreintés de notre weekend à Lisbonne... honteux de louer un tel logement
• marco (6/5): - Unterkunft etwas abgewohnt, Fenster schließt nicht richtig, kabelsalat am TV … für 3 Nächte, ok … mehr nicht !!! … sehr sehr laut, da direkt im Partyviertel gelegen, das muss man wissen !!!
• Marco (2/5): Worst experience of the year. Lawsuit coming. - When called ahead Hotel confirmed that someone will call soon to let us in. Nobody contacted me. I stood with 2 kids in the middle of street for hours. My calls to the original number got ignored, even blocked. I needed to book alternative hotel for 5 days more expensive. I am now suing to get my my money back. They never called back in 5 days but kept my money. The worst experience ever. I will file a lawsuit as well as criminal charges.
• Anastasia (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was spacious, clean, stylish and had everything we needed. The location was excellent, and we were able to easily walk to all the main attractions. The host was very friendly and helpful.
• Olivia (2/5): Extreem and excessive noise between 7pm-5am. Expect to not sleep during the night of your stay. - The overall facilities within the apartment were as expected. The noise level outside the apartment was excessive. We could hear conversations below. We were 1 floor up. The noise was loud music/ club music, people talking and drinking from 7pm through to 5 am. The noise from the apartment above was excessive also. We ended up moving accommodation after the first night. It was not clear in the booking description how excessive the noise was. You are located on the main bar/club street of Lisbon.
• Erikas (5/5): Passable - Location was very good. Noise from the street was terrible, and smell in apartment was bad.
• TRISHA (6/5): Poor communication from host. Small/dated bathroom - Sleeeping area was decent, however, the bathroom was tiny and dated and in need of an upgrade. The property is situated on a lively street so you hear noise/chatting into the night however that did not disturb me but if you are a light sleeper it may. The communication from the host wasn't the best. I asked if shower gel, shampoo and cotton pads are provided. The questions didn't get answered and instead I got told 'yes we can provide a cot' and a cot and high chair were put in our room. When we messaged to say if it can be removed as it was taking up space, we got no response. We also didn’t get check in details in advance despite me messaging the host about other things. This caused inconvenience as I had to find a restaurant to get wifi to then message the host on how to check in. He then provided the instructions which really should have been sent to me in advance of the stay. We also had to request for check out details which again got sent too late to us so we just put the key back in the secure box and left.
• Will (8/5): Lovely apartment, loud at night - The apartment was perfect for a short Lisbon break, convenient location, good space and clean. The hosts were very communicative and helpful throughout, providing everything we needed for our stay with a baby. The only reason it is not a 5 star stay is the noise from the bars outside, especially on Friday night into the early hours of the morning. One window could not be fully closed and other one wasn’t fully stopping the noise. With better sound insulation in the windows it would be great.
• Emma (6/5): - Location was great!. Very small for 3 people. Third bed was a single pull out sofa bed. Very uncomfortable. It was very noisy. Hard to sleep. No elevators, walking up 3 floors was a challange.

• María (5/5): Lisbon is a magical and lovely city!! - Very poor quality-price ratio: a very small apartment and as expensive as a 4-star hotel. Fatal. To access the apartment there are very very narrow and steep stairs. Located on the first floor of a street with terrible noise. In addition, we had an incident with the owner. The situation was resolved with intimidation and verbally aggressive blackmail (I even thought about reporting it to the local police). A awfull note about a lovely city.

• Cal368 (9/5): Lovely little apartment in the most fantastic city. - Great location, clean apartment. Contact from the owners was clear and concise. Really easy to get to some great locations from the apartment. Shower was a bit of a squeeze. But really not a big issue.

Right in the heart of the city and even though it was busy at night this did not disturb our sleep at all and the hosts were considerate enough to leave us some ear plugs! The room itself was great, clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of things in the kitchen which we utilised when cooking! Very easy to enter the apartment too by a code lock and the hosts were kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage both before and after checkout for free! Nothing bad to say! There were a few ants around one of the beds but not so bad that it was a nuisance.
• Bernhard (8/5): - Kommunikation mit den Hosts sehr direkt, hilfsbereit und angenehm, über eine WA Gruppe, hat sehr gut geklappt. Lage sehr zentral und als Ausgangspunkt für Sightseeing top. Mitten im Nightlife Viertel mit entsprechend lautstarken Feierlichkeiten bis 2 Uhr (wochenende etwas länger) direkt vor der Tür. Wer einen gesunden Schlaf hat und tolerant ist, für den sollte das aber kein grosses Problem sein. Das hellhörige Treppenhaus und die dünnen Wände und Decken können aber wie in unserem Fall durchaus gewaltig nerven, man hört wirklich alles von den darunter oder darüber liegenden Appartements. Wenn nach Ende der Party draussen die Feier drinnen weiter geht, kann das schon hart werden wenn man doch irgendwann seine Ruhe haben will. Wer hier empfindlich ist sollte sich lieber eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Aber für Party People genau das Richtige!

I like to go out and party and even for me it was too much people are partying, yelling and chanting well into the morning week days and weekends LOTS and LOTS of tourists yelling and singing do not expect to sleep before 3 am any day. > The shower is also tiny Im 6 ft 180lbs and I had a hard time in there with the tiny shower head. > The place is super small, at this price point I've stayed at bigger and nicer places in Lisbon > Lots of stairs if you're on the 4th floor, but believe me you want to be as far up as possible the noise is mad All in all if this place was cheaper I would complain less, it was like renting a bedroom in a bar
• Verified traveler (6/5): Pleasant enough stay in a lively noisey area - We stayed here for a 4 night trip and overall the apartment was ok. Unfortunately we didn’t do our research properly and it turned out the apartment was on a very busy and noisy street, so it wasn’t the best location if you want a good nights sleep, however that is totally on us! The apartment was clean enough, but there seemed to be some damp on the walls so we had to have the dehumidifier on throughout which was quite noisy. The door also didn’t feel as securely locked as you’d hope and one night we think someone mistook our apartment for there’s and tried to open the door. If you’re looking for somewhere as a base and not too bothered about the noise, then this is an ideal location to stay, near lots of bars, restaurants, shops and tourist spots!

Wir können das Apartment allen empfehlen, die mitten im Geschehen einer pulsierenden Stadt sein wollen und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen wollen.

• Elayne (8/5): - This property is in a great location, close to many local restaurants and bars. We stayed on the top floor which was great for privacy but had to walk up 4 flights of stairs. The host was wonderful. Communication was prompt and helpful. Shower was very tight but everything was in working order and the kitchenette was a nice amenity to have. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
• Juliette (6/5): - The hosts were really nice and communicative, the apartment was VERY clean. Not a hair in sight. Attention to detail with the wine and water and when we had a small issue it was resolved the same day. The hosts are great, and I would stay in their accommodation again (I saw their logo somewhere else in the city) but not the front building facing the street. I saw a better description of the property on another website than I did here on Expedia. It did mention loudness so I knew what I was booking, and the apartment had ear plugs available too which was a sweet touch. I sleep at like 1-2am every day and I don't wake up easily. But the floor is very creaky, when other people walk past on the stairs it sounds like an elephant parade. People drink and chat outside on the street till 3am on several days of the week, Friday and Saturday were the worst. Other days a bit better. But then we got woken up by the really really loud cleaning crew for another apartment/room at 8-9am, not too early but it is when you've been kept awake till 3am. One night the resident above us got back at 3am but then decided to move furniture around and stumble around for another hour or so. Because it's an old building you hear everything. So, even if you think you're a night owl - make sure you are the right kind of night owl. The apartment has everything you need, the location is really great - but it's probably best you are a super night owl or party person.

• Eric (8/5): It's a nice apartment, a bit expensive, but I guess market forces decide the price. - The apartment is in an excellent location, very close to bars, restaurants, supermarket and trams. Even though it was noisy outside, the sound proofing was good and we were not disturbed. We were on the 4th floor and the stairs are quite steep, it was very difficult getting cases to the top but obviously by the structure of the building it was to be expected. The shower was very small, and it was very difficult to turn round without knocking the tap which was also the temperature setter. We did get burned on a couple of occasions. Finally, there was no change of towels or bedding, which would have been nice for a ten day stay in hot weather.

Also they dont tell you until the day before that you have to pay an extra TAX per person/night 2€ so that quickly adds up. Taxis cant drive up to the house.

• Acvillela (10/5): Great little apartment close to everything - The location was great, the complementary wine and complementary big bottle of water were a nice touch. Super comfortable bed. The apartment was clean and bright. The shower had really hot water and good water pressure. The fridge even had a little freezer. The only thing is it would have been nice to know that our rental car could not drop us off right in front (to unload our bags). And being on the 4th floor up a narrow staircase was not a big problem for us, but it would have been nice to kown ahead of time and this could be a problem for some people.

• Mika (5/5): It was almost a good stay, but unfortunately the apartment is not soundproofed enough. - Good location! It has easy access to the main hotspots of the city. Although surrounded by uphill streets, it was still very walkable. Room was well-equipped and had comfortable beds. Friendly and straightforward communication with the host. Just like what other people are commenting about, it can get really loud at night (10pm to 4am). The noise outside was actually tolerable with earplugs on (provided by the host), but the noise/footsteps within the building and other rooms made our stay here unpleasant. Be ready to overhear conversations from your neighbors!

It is impossible to sleep there, we could not sleep an hour any of the nights! the building is terribly noisy and you hear everyone else as if they were in your apartment. They should put on notice that it is such a noisy building and such a noisy neighborhood! definitely ruined our stay in lisbon!!! I don't recommend it at all... The apartment is located just above a dance bar with very strong music all night until the wee hours of the morning. It is impossible to sleep there, we could not sleep an hour any of the nights! the building is terribly noisy and you hear everyone else as if they were in your apartment. They should put on notice that it is such a noisy building and such a noisy neighborhood! definitely ruined our stay in lisbon!!! I don't recommend it at all...

• Verified traveler (4/5): No es un lugar para descansar - El apartamento es impecable, tal como luce en las fotos, pero la zona no es recomendable si buscas descansar luego de recorrer la ciudad todo el día, ya que la calle no solo está rodeada de bares sino que se convierte en un bar hasta altas hiras de la noche y luego dejan todo sucio en los alrededores, lo que lo hace desagradable.
• Jackie (4/5): - The owner is rude. He refused to give change back after you pay him for taxes. There is a very strong sewer smell in the bathroom that comes up from the pipes. There is no shampoo. There's only handsoap that the owner claims is shampoo, no body wash or otherwise. Hot water in the shower runs out after 5min. One part of the blanket smells extremely bad, like urine. We kept getting bug bites from something in the sheets. Location is very central but loud until 5am.

The pre-stay communication was excellent, they provided much information and a local guide with sensible recommendations for sight seeing, eating and drinking - thank you. Check in and vacating the property was easy and straightforward. They also kindly organised a taxi for us to the airport. Highly Recommend, Good Value.

Die Lage ist prinzipiell auch sehr zentral und mit vielen Lokalen in der nähe, allerdings wird die Straße am Abend zu einer Party Meile und das ist dann doch sehr laut.

• JULIANA (10/5): Se barulho não é problema.... - Não vou negar... estar no meio da noite de Lisboa tem seu preço... barulho. Confesso que ele existe, mas estar no meio do agito compensa. Detalhe: o barulho de fora ok, mas fiquei no primeiro andar e o barulho de cima foi muito chato. De resto... a localização é ótima, o studio confortável e organizado.

• MiJi (8/5): - Lovely hosts- we stayed however in the 4th floor no elevator very narrow staircase- you have to be fit and very agile to stay here. Managing luggage was a challenge. Hosts were wonderful.

La rue est extrêmement bruyante une très bonne partie de la nuit ainsi que les locataires qui montent et qui descendent à toute heure de la nuit de façon bruyante dans les escaliers. Sinon nous n'avons rien à redire quant à l'accueil sympathique qui nous a été réservé ainsi que la qualité du studio.

Including Location, Accomodation condition, Service all you expect to an apartment is provided. And i liked the Baixa village which has many delicious local restaurants where residents eat with live atmosphere. I am willing to stay again. But steep stairs is the only negative side.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful, modern apartment in Bairro Alto. Perfect location, apartment is equipped with kitchen, clean bathroom, washer/dryer as well as a tv and balcony. Communication with the owners was easy - WhatsApp group chat to arrange a time to meet to exchange keys and they were always on hand to offer tips and any advice when needed. Perfect base for my stay in Lisbon!

PERO PARA DORMIR ANTES DE LAS 2 DE LA MAÑANA IMPOSIBLE POR EL RUIDO QUE HAY EN LA CALLE, AL SER PEATONAL Y DEBAJO ESTAR LOS RESTAURANTES Y BARES TURISTICOS DE MODA. LO PRIMERO QUE NOS DIERON AL LEGAR FUERON LOS TAPONES PARA LOS OIDOS.
• Antoine (4/5): Get ready to pay a cleaning fee of 35 euros CASH - This place should be on Airbnb and not on Hotels.com. Make sure you read the small lines... there are a 35 euros cleaning service that you have to PAY CASH at check in. I called Hotels.com 10 days before arriving and requested for a cancellation as it was not a great deal after all, the landlord refused to refund me stating that I should have read the small lines and it was non-refundable. I arrived for check in at 8:40 pm like agreed with the landlord by whatsapp, they let me the key under the mat and then requested me stay to wait and pay for this cleaning service CASH (even if the room was already paid for and there was no mention whatsoever of the necessity to pay cash and not by credit card) and they could not make it until 10 PM. Needless to say this was far from a seemless experience, I had to run in the street, look for cash and after a long negociation I was allowed to leave the room for my appointment and let the money in my room for which thay had a key. I have been a hotels.com satisfied client for countless years and this is the first time I have had such a bad experience. Paying a cleaning fee on a HOTEL reservation website is not normal.

Extra fees: they texted me the day before arrival, saying that there would be an extra $42 cleaning fee which was not disclosed on hotels.com when I booked it; 2: long delay in checking in: even though I informed them that we would arrive around 11pm, nobody came to check us in till almost midnight. 3: bad smell in bathroom: something is probably wrong w one of the bathroom drain. I am amazed that hotels.com listed this as 4-star. I noticed lated booking.com has it as 3-star. Even that is way too generous giving how poor the service is.

• Christopher (2/5): Scam - 50% price increase on check-in - Booking increased by 50% on arrival due to a “cleaning fee”. I tried to cancel but the host declined. When I told them the issue they got very rude and claimed it was my fault. While the room and the person who checked me in were great, the owner is rude and tried to scam me. Unfortunately I couldn’t cancel or would have lost my payment.
• elaine (8/5): Bien situé, on peut à la place du commerce à pied - Très bien situé par contre, il y avait une mauvaise odeur dans la chambre (senteur d’égout) et le drain de la douche ne fonctionne pas bien donc, beaucoup d’eau qui s’accumule... Il y a beaucoup de bruit le soir, prévoir des bouchons.

This is one of the best trip I had since they had communicated on time and kept property near! It was mind-blowing view from top floor to see Lisbon and property is at heart of the bairro alto as well!!
• Verified traveler (10/5): cozy apartment for solo travelers or couples - I had an amazing time staying at this place. The apartment's owners were attentive, responsive and kind. I loved the location! As a single woman traveler, I loved that I was able to be in the middle of all of the action of Bairro Alto, but feel safe and secure. The apartment itself was clean, new and equipped with everything I needed. I stayed for less than a week and indulged in the late night scene so noise was never a factor for me, but you will be given earplugs. I appreciated that because at least you know ahead of time what to expect. The only thing that was a bit off-putting was the bed. I was hoping it would be one full sized bed, but it is two twin-sized beds put together which can be a little uncomfortable. Even so, when I return to Portugal I wouldn't mind staying in this place and I think it's ideal for couples or single travelers wanting a bit more of privacy while still experiencing the bustling nightlife of Lisbon.

• Silvia (10/5): Convenient location, right in the middle of things - These apartments are great little apartments. They are new and have all of the amenities that are needed. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of room. There even is a room safe where you can store your valuables when you are not in the room. Everything was very clean. They even gave us a bottle of water and a bottle of wine when we arrived. It was such a nice touch! The staff is extremely responsive. We connected on WhatsApp and were able to do all of the arrangements on that. They are very friendly and helpful and check-in was very smooth. It is situated on a walking street (taxis can drive there but other cars can't) so it is very convenient to a variety of bars, restaurants, and Fado music. The only drawback is that it is above a very lively (at night) area so it is a little noisy. But, honestly, it didn't bother us at all. The location is in the heart of everything and it is easy to get anywhere from there (especially the tourist sites). We loved our stay there and would highly recommend this place!
• Silvia (8/5): Nice room in the heart of Bairro Alto - Nice updated apartment in the Bairro Alto Area. It is on a very active walking street which comes alive at dinner time with Fado music. If you are sensitive to noise, this is not the place for you. But if you want to go out and join in the fun, it’s a great location. The staff is great. They are not onsite but are easily reachable on WhatsApp. They are really good at communicating and very responsive to everything. The only downside is that the shower is super small but that seems pretty common in Europe. I would definitely recommend this place.
