• Alana Snyman (10/5): Great stay at Epupa Falls - The staff were exceptional. Loved the location, literally 300m walk to a better view of the falls. Dinner and breakfast was included in the price and we can recommend the Oryx fillet which was tasty and tender. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Shower had great pressure and fans in rooms really helped for the 33 degree heat during the night. It would be nice if there was something to allow fresh cool air in while.keeping mosquitos and possible snakes out at windows. I think our room would've been cooler if we could leave windows open. Mosquito nets were great, we were just worried about larger animals entering. Nothing not to like. Place was fantastic and we would've like to stay another day. The 178km gravel road to the resort was okay, but not great. But this makes arriving at the resort even more special.

The food was below average (not breakfast!), I refer specifically to the steak at both nights - tough! The all the confusion on what i need to pay, Booking.com etc. The shower heads, you can hardly shower. The chalets need attention.
• Christina (10/5): - The lodge is located at the perfect point that gives you a great view to Epupa falls. Our room was great with a view to thw river and we enjoyed sleeping with the sound of the falls. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and make your stay at the lodge even more enjoyable. The food we had there was also really good. My only suggestion is that it would be good to be notified in advance that all activities should be paid in cash and their cost. In that way, you can plan better cause the closest ATM is 2.5 hours away.

• An Boe (6/5): - Gute Lage direkt an den Epupa Falls. Schöner Pool Wir haben über booking.com eine Campsite mit Halbpension gebucht. Als wir ankamen, wollte man von der Halbpension nichts wissen, obwohl es in der Bestätigung stand. Wir haben am ersten Abend gegen Bezahlung gegessen, aber dann auf weitere Mahlzeiten verzichtet. Für uns sehr ärgerlich, wenn man sich darauf eingestellt hat. Die Toilettenschüsseln könnten mehr gepflegt werden.

The local people in the area were also very friendly. For me, the remote Epupa Falls is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

• Karlheinz (8/5): Lage genial, Zimmer nur ok. - Essen war vorzüglich. Aussicht auf die Fälle vom Restaurantdeck einzigartig. Wir hatten zu zweit ein 4-Bett-Zimmer. Es war sehr heiss und es gab keine Möglichkeit durchzulüften, aussser Fenstern ohne Moskitonetz.

• Marco (7/5): Schön, aber teuer - Die Lage ist top sowie sieht alles super hübsch aus. Das Abendessen war super lecker. Das Wlan funktioniert nicht. Den Pool haben wir nicht gesehen. Die "Vorhänge" sind aus den Schalen der Palmenfrüchte, was gut aussieht aber auf der Haut sehr kratzt. Was nicht angenehm ist, wenn man nackt aus der Dusche rausgeht. Uns wurde von Personal angedreht, Personal auf der Rückfahrt mitzunehmen. Als wir versucht haben zu erklären, dass wir sie schon mitnehmen können, jedoch teils eine andere Route fahren (Sightseeing) wurde uns nicht zugehört. Als wir sie dann mitgenommen haben, haben sie uns immer noch nicht zugehört, dass wir anders fahren.

• Klaus (9/5): Perfect place for exploring the falls area. - Best location on the falls. Very thoughtful design of the stilted chalets. Nice meals and drinks on the elevated deck. Beware of dry palm fronds and fruit coming down every evening. Pool loungers not too comfy.
• Anke (10/5): Sagenhafter Blick auf die Wasserfälle von der Terrasse/Bar aus, wer das „grüne“ Namibia sehen möchte, muss unbedingt - Einzigartige Unterkunft direkt an den Wasserfällen, von der Terrasse aus ein unvergesslicher Blick auf den Fluss, die Wasserfälle kann man sich zu Fuss in unmittelbarer Nähe anschauen, wir haben daher auf den „Aussichtspunkt“ verzichtet, keine einzige Mücke im September, der Fluss führte viel Wasser mit sich (unsere Sorge, wir würden außerhalb der Regenzeit nur ein Rinnsal vorfinden war unbegründet, da es zuvor in Angola geregnet hatte), wunderschöne saubere Holzlodges mit guten Duschmöglichkeiten, das Abendessen (darunter ein vegetarisches mit Gemüse aus eigenem Anbau und zwei perfekt gegrillte Steaks ) war überdurchschnittlich gut, super Frühstück; die Fahrt dorthin ist absolut abenteuerlich (ohne Allrad keine Chance wegen der „Dellen“ ) aber die Strapazen lohnen sich. Der für namibische Verhältnisse hohe Preis war absolut gerechtfertigt.

El precio de la cabaña compartida fue desorbitado. El restaurante tenía muy pocas opciones de comida en el almuerzo y en la cena. Tampoco nos gustó que nos cobraran un suplemento por haber llegado después de la hora del registro de entrada.
• manoj (7/5): great location and great rooms but extremely poor food delivery - dinner/breakfast. - Amazing location, loved the room-cottages. With the unexpected extreme chill could have benefited from some time of heating. Breakfast was better but not ideal with limited choices and medicore cooking. The food management at this site was archaic, poor quality, poorly cooked and most importantly zero choice of both non-veg or veg or vegan. The meat was hard and chewy and poorly flavoured. The choice by chef to provide Quiche as a vegie option was wierd at it is something that needs acquired taste - particulary if it is not well flavoured. Vegan option could have benefited from the huge range of fresh vegie grown locally - but ended with a pepper filled with baked beans directly from the tin!! Zero local dishes, Zero flavour, and Zero creativity. Seems to cater mainly for the older western palate only.

• Armin (8/5): Beste Lage, keine Luxuslodge - Die Lage der Lodge ist unschlagbar. Das Abendessen sehr gut, es werden lokale Produkte verarbeitet. Leider gibt es keinen Zimmerservice. Das Pool lädt zu entspannen ein, ist aber in die Jahre gekommen. Außer den Ausflug zu den Himba könnte man alles auf eigene Faust unternehmen. Von der D3700 kann man wenn man bis auf die Höhe des Himbadorfes fährt und dann zum Fluss geht Korokodile beobachten. Guides bieten in der Lodge auf eigene Rechnung Aktivitäten an, die bar bezahlt werden müssen. Ich fand diese zu teuer und es wurde auch nicht das geboten, womit geworben wird, z.B. der Morgenspaziergang mit einem Kaffee und Snack am Strand am Fluss. Daher 1 Note Punktabzug

No me gustó nada que me cobraran un suplemento por haber llegado después de la hora de registro de entrada. La chica fue poco agradable. El restaurante no funciona muy bien: le falta variedad y muchas cosas.

• Alexander (10/5): Eine Oase im Nirgendwo - Die Lage ist absolut bombastisch. Noch nicht mal der Wasserfall selbst, sondern der ganze Kunene Fluss der sich wie eine lange Oase durch die trockene Landschaft windet. Das Essen ist ebenfalls aussergewöhnlich gut und ein Pool bietet Abkühlung von der sonst schon fast tropisch-schwülen Hitze. Ist jetzt schon fast snobbish, aber die Lodge liegt schon fast zu nahe am Wasserfall. Die Bungalows bieten keinen Schutz vor der Akustik und Schlafen ist schwer, wenn man sich Stille gewohnt ist. Die Strasse von Opuwo nach Epupa ist übrigens die Hölle und hat uns einen Reifen gekostet. Ständiges Abbremsen auf Schritttempo um über schwierige Stellen zu kommen ist nötig - und das über jeweils drei Stunden hin und zurück.

Colazione scarsa, servizio ai tavoli al ristorante lascia a desiderare, wifi molto debole e lento. Nella stanza un bagno inutilizzabile per ampia perdita d'acqua.

• dr. M. Sloet (8/5): Heerlijke verblijfplaats direct aan de Epupa falls en prima verzorgd,maar verwacht geen luxe resort! - Het is een prachtig gebouwde lodge met locale producten. Het is geen moderne luxe maar een houten kamer op palen met een prachtig uitzicht op de Epupa falls. De bedden waren prima maar het is echt 'buitenleven' en dat betekent geen airco, geen ventilator, geen wifi, hele eenvoudige badkamer. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Het ontbijt was prima en werd geseveerd op een terras op palen met prachtig uitzicht op de falls. Je kunt alleen cash betalen maar daar was tevoren netjes voor gewaarschuwd. Al met al een hele positieve beleving als je je instelt op een 'locale' lodge. De lodge heeft er geen schuld aan maar de weg langs de Angolese grens (C3700) is hier en daar erg slecht en ongeveer 30 km van de lodge was een te diepe en modderige rivier die we niet met de auto konden/durfden te kruisen en dus moesten we 180 km omrijden over erg slechte weg. We arriveerden pas om 22:00 uur bij de lodge. We hadden via satelliettelefoon een bericht gestuurd en men wachtte ons dus wel op.

• Gert-Jan (8/5): Fantastische locatie prijs kwaliteit wat onder de maat. - De locatie vlakbij de watervallen. Je kon ze vanaf het huisje zo zien. Wij kregen een gratis upgrade naar het huisje waar je uitzicht op de waterval had. In het huisje zit maar een stopcontact voor de ventilator, daarnaast is er heel slecht bereik van wifi waar je voor moet betalen, het onderhoud van bijvoorbeeld het zwembad lieten wensen over.

• Sara (7/5): Spectacular views overlooking the Kunene river. - We loved the design of the accommodation that had been built by the owner on stilts which gave the MOST AMAZING views of the falls from our bedroom and the dining room/bar. It was definitely worth the long drive to get there. Most exceptional, beautiful walks along by the river. The view point was spectacular. John, our guide was incredibly helpful and informative when he took us to meet a Himba family - I can highly recommend a visit The food wasn’t good. An earlier breakfast than 7.30am would be good if you you’re wanting to leave early to drive back towards Opuwo. No manager to oversee the staff. We had to use our own car to go & see the Himba family. Please note make sure you have enough cash to do the tours, massage & laundry. We were short and therefore we were limited to what tours we could do! No WiFi.

• Colin (10/5): Fantastic place to stay, then to continue our drive along the river towards Ruacana - Very comfortably rustic accommodation with a fantastic view of the top of the falls through a wall to wall opening virtually on top of the river. This accommodation made it a highlight of our trip. Staff extremely friendly and accommodating, food delicious and huge portions. Short walk from the lodge to see the falls in their splendour. Front viewing window was a huge opening of panels that made you feel almost like being outside. Pricey for such basics. No hot water first night. Some poor concepts. Rusticity was ok though and blended well to the environment.

Im Bad KEINE Möglichkeit, Handtücher aufzuhängen (!) oder einen Beutel aufzuhängen. Sauberkeit: Toilettenabfluss war undicht und ein Rinnsal lief über den Boden durchs Zimmer…

Das Personal hat uns sehr gut zu verstehen gegeben, wie groß die Freude war als wir abgereist sind.

• Holger-Rainer (10/5): Grandios. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert . - Diese Unterkunft ist perfekt und die beste Lodge welche ich während der vielen Namibia Reisen kennengelernt habe. Direkt am Wasserfall gelegen . Sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Perfektes Essen und sehr gute Getränke. Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Alle Angestellten tadellos. Die lange Anreise lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, aber unbedingt beachten 4x4 zwingend erforderlich, ganz egal aus welcher Richtung man kommt.

• Jill (8/5): Gorgeous setting and incredibly relaxing. - The location is magical. The Falls are right in front of you. The scenery mesmerising. The style is rustic and in keeping with the setting. The food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. There is local access to the rock pools surrounding the Falls right next to the Lodge. This can at times get very noisy with children playing and sometines water pumps being used.

• Florent (10/5): Une oasis en Namibie - Après 3h45 d’une piste longue et belle dans une région isolée du nord de la Namibie, c’est presque un mirage d’arriver dans cet écran de verdure au milieu des palmiers. Le lodge a su se fondre dans son environnement et c’est très réussi. Nous avons dormi dans un bungalow sur pilotis avec vue sur les chutes, idyllique! À noter, que nous n’avons presque pas eu de moustiques lors de notre séjour en Août 2023. Pour rendre le séjour encore plus agréable, pourquoi ne pas créer un verger exotique au bénéfice des visiteurs/du personnel avec quelques fruits frais ?
