- Jeffrey (2/5): Overall a very disappointing and overpriced hotel, great location - The location of the hotel is convenient to explore Lisbon. The front desk staff, especially Adilson, was friendly, professional and welcoming throughout the stay. This hotel is absolutely not at the level expected from a 5-star property. The breakfast buffet was very disappointing: poor quality products, no atmosphere, and almost no service. Having breakfast located on level -2 also makes the experience feel cheap and unpleasant. The elevators are old, the beds are uncomfortable, and the pillows are extremely hard. It is also impossible to open the bedroom windows for fresh air. The business corner on level -1 has no service, no windows, and no proper workspace. The spa experience was also far below 5-star standards. Paying around €1,700 for 5 nights was absolutely not worth the price, and we will not return.

Petit déjeuner bon et avec du choix. Le spa, très déçue. Pas de pantoufles, l’eau de la piscine et froide. Ne vaut vraiment pas la peine d’y aller ou de choisir cette hôtel pour son spa.
- 231srinivasr (10/5): Great hotel with great staff - Portugal is indeed a fantastic place and the people are so friendly and helpful. The same goes with the hotel. The staff at the hotel have been fantastic and are only ever too willing to help. In particular the front desk staff Adilson, Andrelino, Catarina and Samuel were so courteous, friendly and helpful. At breakfast we have the ever smiling Brito who always makes you feel so welcome to start off your day. The stay has been very pleasant and the restaurant food was also very good. If I come back to Lisbon, I will most certainly stay at this hotel.

Hotel staff wrote on a post it note in Portuguese that my son has a severe peanut allergy to help us at restaurants. The bartender recommended some restaurants. Only complaint is that I wish the bathroom had a door that closed the whole area off for more privacy.

- moyw2026 (10/5): Exceptional Customer Service - I id not know what to expect as a solo traveler, but from the moment I arrived at Iberostar at 7am (well before the 3pm check in), I was treated with friendliness and professionalism. All the receptionists throughout all the shifts are exceptional. Nedia Semedo at guest services went above and beyond to make my stay and birthday special. She even took the time to find me a birthday card with a picture that looks like me (I know that took effort). For my birthday she sent me a bottle of wine and a small cake, which was unexpected and made my day! The staff are friendly and gives suggestions and directions with happiness. The smell of the hotel lobby and elevators is a lovely woodsy diffuser smell. The spa is exceptional and I used the sauna and steam room every evening to relax after a long day of walking around Lisbon. The breakfast buffet has a good selection even for a picky eater. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pricing is fair as I booked a package including flights. The hotel is central and around 10 minutes walk to the main tourists central where all the shops, restaurants etc are located. Not to mention how scenic the walk around the hotel and to the harbour front is. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers who want a safe, clean and friendly environment.

We found the experience very disappointing, having travelled extensively this was by far our worst experience. Checking in procedure was terrible even though we had checked in previously online.

- ScottPJohnston (8/5): Great hotel, but needs a bit of sprucing up - My first impressions of the Iberostar upon arriving were very positive. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Upon waking up, I noticed mould in the curtains and shower, and started to notice quite a bit of wear and tear in the lobby areas. One of the lifts was malfunctioning throughout my stay, which was frustrating as there was no apparent way to use the stairs. I was upgraded to a suite free of charge which was a lot more spacious. There was a bit of mould on the curtains in the lounge area of the room, so I think the hotel has to start having a closer look at this. Both bedrooms I had in terms of layout were very spacious, with plentiful storage and excellent amenities such as a Nespresso machine and fridge. Both rooms were quiet, especially given the suite was street facing at a lower level. The breakfast was flawless, with plenty of choice and personable staff, who seemed very authentic and human, which is sometimes missing from five-star hotels. The gym was very poor, and I think the hotel should think about adding more machines, especially given that there are no decent pay-as-you-go gyms in reasonable walking distance. Can't fault the hospitality of the staff at reception and in the breakfast areas, would stay here again. Five-star service and food, four-star in terms of the general quality of the finishes.

The restaurant needs to relook at the menu and the variety. Also the hotel price was a little higher than the other hotels within the area. The bar prices was too much higher than any places, the bar prices was expensive.

We stayed at Iberostar Selection Lisboa for a family trip and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. We arrived early in the morning with our 1.5-year-old baby and asked for early check-in. The receptionist said there were no rooms available, but a few minutes later mentioned that premium rooms were available if we paid EUR 30 extra per night. I agreed because we needed to rest with a baby, but it’s ridiculous how a room suddenly becomes available just by paying more. The baby cot provided was dirty, broken, and ripped — clearly not checked before being placed in the room. On top of that, there was no kettle in the room. When I asked for one, they said the hotel doesn’t provide kettles. I explained we have a baby and need hot water for milk, but they still refused to arrange anything. This was very disappointing and inconvenient. To make things worse, the bed sheets in our premium room were torn when we checked in. They changed them after I complained, but how does that even happen in a so-called premium room for which we paid extra? Finally, on the day of checkout, they started calling right at 12 noon to remind us to leave, even though they knew we had a baby and needed a few extra minutes to pack. This was actually my second bad experience with this hotel. I gave them another chance after a previous poor stay, but now I’m sure — I’ll never stay at Iberostar Lisboa again.

The property is old and the decor is too old. The photos of the hotel you placed on your website is doctored- all false advertising and representations. That was why I cancelled my stay. This hotel is no where close to the sea but check the photo of the swimming pool. The photo has sea view. Please ask other guests who stayed at this hotel. The decorations e.g. the chandeliers which you coloured golden effect are all silver in colour. Booking.com needs to pay me back the money you charged me for late cancellation. The iberostar staff knew all the guests at this hotel complained very badly about the hotel price and so called’star’ award. The 5* rating is a scam. Please payback the money you deducted else, I’m ready to take this matter further. Thank you.

- sandraj233 (6/5): Not a Five Star Hotel - Not a Five Star Hotel, it very basic. Nothing really wrong with it just simple and cold. No luxury amenities or extras so definitely not the 5 star experience. No little extras in the room or good service. We had to bring in our own luggage, lift was broken 3 times during our stay and no one to show us the stairs, we found the stairs entrance which sits on the road meaning anyone can walk in from the street up to the rooms, Its not a five star. Rooms were clean but carpets in the hotel are all stained and bathrooms are mouldy. Positive: the location is great
- Deerwood (8/5): Basement and Breakfast - For some reason, my room was in the basement of the hotel. Not only that but at the very far corner of the basement. Maybe my face didn’t fit, maybe the receptionist did not like me or maybe the rest of the rooms were full! Nevertheless, my room was clean, modern and fully functional. What more could you want? My only gripe, apart from a faulty lift, was the breakfast. Nothing wrong with the food or the service but the time. Please start serving breakfast at 6am, not at 7 which is too popular and leads to a crowded unpleasant experience.
- Resort49288954387 (4/5): Geen vijf sterren waard! - We came to the hotel expecting a five star hotel with a five star experience. We were very disappointed when we saw the cold, uninviting lobby and old, stained carpet on the floors. When we entered our room, it didn't look like a five star room, but a three star room at most. No thought went into designing the room, there was just one wall painted in a colour. There was a coffee maker, but no water, tea or snacks. You could get filtered water from a water dispenser outside the room. The room only had an outdated TV. Enough wall sockets. The breakfast buffet was okay, but again didn't feel or look like one you would expect in a five star hotel. The bed was bad: an old, bumpy mattress, definitely in need of an upgrade. The staff was very nice! Their work outfits could do with an update though. Overall, the experience was very underwhelming. Last year we stayed in the Hyatt Regency in Lisbon (also a five star hotel). With that experience in mind, Iberostar Lisboa was definitely a disappointment.

While the hotel itself presented as 'ok' and offers a pleasant ambiance in its common areas, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. For a hotel of this caliber, one expects impeccable standards, but unfortunately, our room was not as well-cleaned as it should have been. This significantly detracted from the comfort and overall enjoyment of the stay. The hotel's location is convenient for exploring Lisbon, and its facilities are generally good. However, the issue with room cleanliness is a critical point that needs improvement to truly live up to its 5-star rating."

- Hugon Iskariota (8/5): Świetna baza wypadowa do zwiedzania Lizbony jak również do całodniowego relaksu w strefie basenowej - Obsługa recepcji była wyjątkowo gościnna i sprawna, a cały obiekt był nieskazitelnie czysty. Na terenie hotelu znajduje się zewnętrzny basen z ogrodem oraz kryty basen z hydromasażem i strefą SPA. Na korytarzach do dyspozycji gości znajdują się dystrybutory do darmowej wody. Pokoje są przestronne, ciche i dobrze wyposażone - w tym ogromna, przeszklona łazienka. Hotel jest położony w odległości 5 minut spacerem od Parque Eduardo VII oraz pół godziny od Praça do Comércio. W sąsiedztwie hotelu znajduje się wypożyczalnia aut oraz wiele ciekawych punktów gastronomicznych (kawiarni, lodziarni i restauracji). W lobby hotelowym znajduje się także bar oferujący autorskie drinki i przekąski. Basen zewnętrzny otwierany był tylko przy słonecznej pogodzie, mimo że temperatura na zewnątrz wynosiła powyżej 24 stopni a niebo było lekko zachmurzone. Szkoda bo to idealne miejsce aby odpocząć z książką w ręku, a przy okazji zamówić coś z przybasenowego baru. Do poprawy także obsługa kelnerska zajmująca się strefą basenową, brudne szklanki i tależe potrafiły leżeć na stolikach lub murku przez pół dnia.

I could stop right there and you’d already know the vibe. It’s the kind of design choice that sounds “edgy” in a meeting but feels awkward in real life—especially if you’re traveling with friends or colleagues. That said, the staff handled things well, offering us a complimentary upgrade. The hotel’s location is excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient. Still, it’s not a five-star experience. Maybe four stars on a generous day. If the showers had doors, we’d be talking about a 10/10 stay. Until then, Iberostar Lisboa sits firmly in the “good, not great” category.

When we complained to staff they did absolutely nothing. Shame on Iberostar for the conditions they maintain.

Esperando ainda o reembolso já que foi falado que o hotel daria agora falam que é com a booking. Hotel péssimo! De nada! - Excursion14171274757 (4/5): Not a five-star hotel - This is not a five-star hotel. Basic amenities like Q-tips were missing, which is something you’d expect from any true luxury property. The standard rooms were tucked away in the back of the property in another building, which felt like a strategic tactic to force quests to upgrade. Additionally, our room had two twin beds pushed together, and a standard bed setup required an upgrade request. Another drawback was the location, which was situated in a commercial zone and a distance from the heart of the city and all the main attractions. If it’s your first time visiting, I’d recommend staying somewhere closer to the action for convenience and to get the full experience. After two nights, my partner and I switched to a new boutique hotel in the Chiado neighborhood. It had all the essentials and delivered five-star service.
