CheongKamHoe (10/5): Hanafi, Rengga, Fuad are Sofitel KL Ambassadors. - The above-mentioned staff were being exemplary. Let me explain further. My friend and I check in on 27 April. We arrived late. Mr Fuad and his team were so accommodating. My special requests were met. Fuad wore very genuine smiles. On the next day, Mr Hanafi recognized me after a looong absence. His great hospitality has always had warmed me. Along with his team, Harini and Ashnida were two staff which deserves to be mentioned. Also, Mr Rengga, the front desk manager should be acknowledged . He is definitely the right head to be. Lanchana, Revan and Elbar were polished gems. Lastly, La Boulangerie has one the most scrumptious pastries which do not break your bank account at all. At Least Bar, Accor elite members get to redeem beautiful and premium welcome drinks. Staff were just great. All in, this is not the last time I am revisiting , there will be more. Kudos !

WorldWideTravel88 (8/5): Mixed Experience - We had a mixed stay at Sofitel. The good is that they proactively upgraded us to a prestige suite as Accor Diamond guests. The hotel common areas are quite posh. The lounge is very good including a premium breakfast a la carte menu for example filet mignon. Happy hour was also quite nice. The less stellar aspects of the stay: the suite is a bit compact 60 sqm, smaller than average for hotels of this caliber. Also the room itself is somewhat boring and has some similarities to a Sheraton or Hyatt Regency, rather than a normally more interesting and upscale Sofitel. I had a bit of allergies while in the room so the ventilation system is probably not the cleanest. For happy hour they did not allow children 5-7pm; to their credit they proposed an alternative rather than nothing at all. But nonetheless from our experience it was one of the weakest alternative offered by any hotel with a lounge where we stay: they said come right before 7pm to grab food. For young children it's too late so it was not usable. I prefer hotels which allow to pick food at the beginning and bring to the room, or be given an alternative venue for happy hour, or they deliver something themselves to our room. Sofitel was none of the above. Last but not least, service was not always the best. I booked this stay in October 2025 with a buy one get one free voucher Accor Plus Malaysia expiring December 2025 for stay date April 2026. The hotel's own reservation department confirmed this works and they provided the amended reservation confirmation. Once arrived at the hotel they said the voucher has expired and I need to pay for the second night, I protested and they eventually let it go. Then upon check out I asked to redeem diamond dining vouchers and they originally refused, saying that in-room dining is not eligible. I showed them Accor rules - there is no such restriction. They let it go as well. So overall not a bad hotel, but given the multiple choices in KL I am not sure I will rush back either.

TG (7/5): Nice hotel in KL, but staff is amateurish - The room is huge, the bathroom is well designed and extremely convenient. The mattress was very comfortable. Overall, the hotel is well located, a few meters away from a few malls and the metro station. The hotel is quite expensive for Kuala Lumpur, and the staff come across as very unprofessional. They could really use proper training. While they seem willing to help, everything feels slow and a bit amateurish. It’s definitely not the level of service I would expect from the Accor group, especially at this price point.

aikhengc (6/5): Disappointing hospitality for a Sofitel, despite a comfortable suite - This was a special staycation for my family, as I am Malaysian and this was actually my first stay at an Accor hotel in my home country. I decided to use my suite room upgrade and brought along my wife and son for a 2D1N staycation after arriving from Phnom Penh, where I had stayed at Novotel Phnom Penh BKK1. Unfortunately, my first impression with Sofitel Damansara was already disappointing. Before arrival, I contacted the hotel via the Accor app to check whether my wife could check in earlier, as my flight was landing at KLIA and I would only reach the hotel around 4pm. There was no reply from the hotel. As an Accor Platinum member who stays frequently across the Accor network, I usually receive some form of pre-arrival engagement or response, especially when reaching out directly. I did not receive an email from Sofitel, but even then, my message was not answered, which was not a great start. To be fair, the room itself was fine, and my wife was able to check in earlier. The actual check-in experience was acceptable. However, the main disappointment came from the Executive Lounge experience. The evening cocktail session at Level 22 runs from 5pm to 7pm, and we were informed that children are not allowed in the lounge during that period because alcohol is served. The manager suggested that my wife and I take turns using the lounge, and only after 7pm could we bring our son in. For a family staycation using a suite upgrade, this felt quite inconvenient and not particularly guest-friendly. I have visited many executive lounges in other Accor hotels and rarely encountered this kind of arrangement, so it came as an unpleasant surprise. What made the experience more awkward was that the food was already set out around 4:30pm, but when my wife thought she could take some food before leaving at 5pm with our son, she was stopped by the staff because the session officially started only at 5pm. The staff member was polite, but the overall experience felt rigid and not in the spirit of hospitality one would expect from a five-star hotel lounge. Breakfast was another weak point. The issue was not the food itself, but more the service attitude. Many of the team members appeared tired or unfriendly. My wife ordered an Americano, waited for it, and eventually received the wrong coffee. What was disappointing was that there was no apology, only a visible sense of frustration from the staff member. I understand Sunday breakfast can be busy, but that is also when service standards matter most. Overall, this was not the level of hospitality I expected from Sofitel, especially given my many stays across the Accor portfolio. In fact, the contrast with Novotel Phnom Penh BKK1, which is a four-star hotel, was significant. That stay delivered a much warmer and more polished experience. I do not write this lightly, as I spend over 180 nights a year in hotels and am a very frequent traveler. Based on this stay, I can only rate the experience 3 stars. While the room was comfortable, the hospitality fell short of what I would expect from a five-star property and from the Accor brand. For now, I would be hesitant to recommend Sofitel Damansara to travelers seeking a strong Accor elite experience, as I believe there are better options available.
CrystaLYJ (8/5): Aura of Calm - The entire space feels open, designed for both comfort and a sense of spaciousness. We both are enjoying a tranquil and laid-back ambiance in this room. I especially love that drinking water tap installed on the restroom's wash basin table top, clean and convenient. We also love that e-Bidet toilet bowl and the Nespresso coffee machine. There is a lot of dust along the edges of the bed sheet and it makes me itchy. I gave feedback to the lobby counter staff when he asked me during check out. Further, I have few gentle feedback based on a 4.5 star rated hotel guest's satisfaction as below: 1. The mattress is uncomfortable because it is sagging, the pillows are uncomfortable too. My hubby can't sleep well the whole night. 2. The Nespresso machine should be "clean and hygienic" for the next guest, luckily I clean it with 6 rounds of drinking water until used coffee grounds are removed and water turns to clean. 3. The rain shower head, some of the nozzles are blocked. Here is my constructive feedback, not malice. This is something you wouldn't know unless we told you. Overall we both are enjoying our stay here. Thank you and good day.

I was only staying one day and had only checked in a few hours ago; I didn't need them to change the towels or make the sheets, right? EYuen (2/5): Changed Management - not recommended - As a Platinum member with ALL Accor Live Limitless, I chose Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara with certain expectations based on my past stays with the brand. Unfortunately, this visit fell short. Prior to arrival, I received a standard welcome email but the actual experience did not reflect the level of recognition typically extended to returning guests. There was no room upgrade, no personalized welcome note and none of the usual amenities such as a fruit basket or chocolates. While upgrades are subject to availability, the overall stay felt impersonal and lacking in attention to detail. In addition, the evening canapés—previously a highlight of the lounge experience—were noticeably scaled back in both variety and presentation compared to my earlier visits. This was disappointing, as it no longer reflects the standard I associate with the Sofitel brand. I have also observed inconsistency in service standards, possibly linked to changes in management. Regardless of the reason, the guest experience should remain consistent, particularly for returning loyal members. I had previously recommended this hotel to visiting guests despite its distance from the city centre and some are planning to stay here in May 2026. However, based on this experience, I am now reconsidering that recommendation. I hope the hotel reviews its service delivery to ensure that loyalty recognition and overall standards are maintained at the level expected of Sofitel

Room is well-kept with a lovely coffee maker, coffee and tea selections, and options for special bath treatments. Beautiful bathroom with luxurious bath products and amenities. The bar / cafe lounge on the ground floor was a bit too warm for me in the afternoon. Perhaps it was due to the heat from the windows. I would have preferred a much cooler corner. Otherwise, all good.

The coffee machine is not user friendly which need to be operated by the staff and causing so much waiting time for coffee. The spread of the food is lousy, you all need to learn from other hotel. Many things need to be better, one of it is the car parking facility. The system is so confusing and valet parking is not coping well when the demand is high. The quality of food is not up to standard for 5 stars and a lot to learn from say One World!
GrandTour66269947496 (2/5): I love Sofitel but Sofitel Damansara made me think twice - The hotel service is generally poor! We had a CNY reunion dinner in the Chinese restaurant, Rest. Wan Chun Ting. The service in the restaurant by Ling, Joey, Lea and team were good. However, cant say the same with other sections of the hotel; on arriving the hotel, my sister had used the vallet service. She was with my aged parents and my father was in a wheel chair. Whilst wheeling my father, the wheel chair hit a curb and lost balance. In trying to hold balance, my sister injured her knee. The concierge staff saw what had happened, stood around and watched. Not one person approached to at least offer a hand. Whilst it may not be in their scope of work, it is only human nature to land a hand when another is in need, what more when it is in the name of hospitality. Sofitel??? Secondly, i had another occasion a meeting at the lobby lounge. I was seated at one of the front tables and waited for an important client to arrive. We were proceeding to a signing of a Term Sheet for a business deal. I spotted bread crumbs on the table. So, i waved to the waiter and POLITELY asked if he could please give the table another wipe. He came, stood there and gave me an irritated look, then asked me to show him where the crumbs were. I told him it was “ok” and i took my napkin and cleaned the table myself. This is a 5star hotel??? Training?? I have also stayed in the hotel on the Club Floor and used the Exec Lounge service. Besides being friendly, there is a lot more that should be improved on….. it is nevertheless a Sofitel and please live up to the quality of Sofitel. Please take notes from Sofitel Metropole Hanoi or Sofitel Singapore City Centre.
TravellerMatt69 (10/5): Excellent, world-class hospitality and among world-best in my experiences. - For me, Sofitel in KL represented the Accor brand excellently. World-class in all aspects, with my favourite aspect being the Lounge on Floor 22. This Lounge, from my experiences across a large number of Accor Hotels in several countries, ranks among world-best. Breakfast menu is sophisticated, that I could imagine sitting in a fine-dining restaurant somewhere in Paris. Likewise for pre-dinner. Of more importance was the incredible and first-rate hospitality of the Sofitel teams. Led by Ekbar, the Club Team is also among world-best. It became easy to know all the Team Members because each team member shows individualised attention to detail, care and warmth. I thank Vino, Hariz, Anishma, Desy, Midhun, Lachana and Putri. Excellent, world-class hospitality and among world-best in my experiences. Front Office Team Member Shafi was also notable as genuinely welcoming into Sofitel and then taking good care until Club took over. Likewise for all the Concierge Members. Finally, Housekeeping deserves a special mention, as rooms remained high-quality, well-maintained and very clean. Thank you, Shamim and Paul.

Theveena (4/5): Service Gaps Overshadow an Otherwise Acceptable Stay at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur - I am an Accor Gold and Accor Plus member and had a last minute two night stay at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur from 22 to 24 January. Overall, the stay was acceptable, however the service standards throughout were well below expectations for a five star Accor property. Check in was at around 7pm after work and the hotel was not busy. The staff member assisting us showed no eye contact, provided no greeting, and only confirmed the room rate, length of stay, and payment method before handing over the key cards. There was no explanation on room type or upgrades, breakfast location and timing, welcome drink entitlement, or any general orientation. This was disappointing and not aligned with Accor brand standards. Upon entering the room, we found a welcome platter of chocolates with a note addressed to a previous guest, Mr Loh. This is a serious oversight and understandably raises concerns about room readiness and attention to detail, including whether proper checks were conducted before assigning the room to a new guest. The following morning, I informed the reservations desk and requested that the platter and note be removed. When we returned several hours later, the room had been serviced but the platter and note were still there. I reported this again in the evening before heading out, received an apology, and was told it would be handled immediately. When we returned later that night, the platter was still untouched. It was only removed when I personally asked the room service staff while receiving our order. This repeated inaction over such a simple request was frustrating and concerning. As a result, we had to rely on the Accor app to confirm our membership benefits and welcome drink entitlement, which should have been clearly communicated at check in. This is the first time I have experienced this level of service inconsistency at an Accor hotel, despite staying at many Accor properties globally. Service issues also extended to breakfast. On the first morning at approximately 7.20am, we ordered two lattes, one arrived hot and the other was fridge cold. The egg station was unattended until a Caucasian guest arrived. When we informed a supervising staff member that one coffee was cold, she acknowledged us but delegated the issue to a junior staff member without addressing it herself. Many food platters were empty and were not refilled during the hour we were there. Several staff members were seen standing together and chatting near the coffee area until the manager arrived and instructed them to attend to guests. The same pattern repeated on the second morning. While the coffee and egg station were properly handled, food refilling remained poor and staff attentiveness only improved after the manager intervened. The only consistently positive service experiences during our stay were from the doormen and the Le Bar team, who were professional and welcoming. I hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously. Recent reviews suggest similar service issues, and our experience indicates these are not isolated incidents. Improvements in basic service delivery, accountability, and guest handling would go a long way in restoring confidence in the Sofitel brand at this property.

travluxuryaddicted_ (2/5): Love the facilities but not the staff feels like 3 stars hotel service - I had high expectations based on my excellent experiences at Sofitel Bangkok and Bali. In reality, it did not meet my expectations at all. Check-in was very slow, and it was unclear what was required and nothing was explained. There was no room upgrade on the first day. There was no explanation about breakfast/hotel credit, etc. or the hotel facilities. The room was decent, the facilities were okay, and there was a turndown service. On the second day, the room was upgraded and felt much better than before. Three times dinner at the Nizza restaurant were nothing but a huge disappointment. We waited for our food for 1-2 hours. It was very embarrassing for a 5-star hotel to take 1-2 hours to prepare food, and the manager asked for my understanding without offering any compensation! It was really embarrassing. Never eat at this restaurant. I came back three times to make sure whether the service standard was really like this or not. And it turned out to be true, the service did not reflect a 5-star hotel at all. Also the QUALITY SUCKS, they give me mash potato the taste sour ( feels like their cream was expired) -> but they tell me they pour vinegar on it..... must be joking, no competence for cooking and no followup action either Breakfast was chaotic, the food selection was very limited, the staff were unhelpful, and worst of all, the quality was poor. This is the worst breakfast I've ever had in my entire life staying at a hotel. Even 3/4-star hotels are much better than this one. They really need to improve because I guarantee you will be disappointed with the QUALITY. The hotel's location is quite strategic, though a bit far from the city center. There's the DC Mall and Pavilion Hotel (quite difficult for strollers and wheelchairs). There's not much to do around the hotel area. During checkout, Mr. Jet assisted me, and he was very helpful and clearly knew what he was doing. Until now, I have not received any feedbacks satisfaction which is after stay it will be sent to the email. No wonder what they provide is of very poor quality, the only difference being the facilities and rooms, which are quite good. It is unfortunate that Sofitel KL has damaged the image of the Sofitel brand, which I used to be proud to recommend to my family and colleagues.

This is a great shame as the property itself is very nice. The concierge team and room staff were much better. SGbiz (6/5): Not the 2nd time around - Have stayed in many other hotels in KL and must say was disappointed with this hotel, Overall the location, room size Stayed in club room), cleanliness is all plus. However attitude of some staff was not pleasant. When checking in I asked where's the designated smoking area and was told the hotel is 100 per cent non smoking hotel. As if I am not aware and who's taking about smoking in the hotel. Anyway I managed to find the designated smoking area the next morning. Which the staff concerned could have pointed out in the first instance when I asked him. Breakfast was a mess. The staff were all over the place and service was slow, clearing of used utensils was slow, perhaps it was too crowded-that I understand, topping up of food was super slow. Then came my biggest shock. I sent my clothes for express laundry service at 8am and specifically indicated I needed my clothes back by 8pm. When I returned to my room at 11pm a message indicated no one was in the room and the DND sign was on. I made very sure the DND sign was turned off before I left. So I do not know how the DND sign was on? I also noticed on the bill it was COD. I called the front office to make enquiries and after much explanation my clothes were delivered. I asked to speak to the duty manager and she told me if it's not COD my clothes will not be delivered until payment is made. This the first time I experience such comment. In other worse if no payment was made my clothes will not be returned and she told me yes. I am appalled by such reply. I clearly mentioned to her that during check out I am sure the staff will inform me I have outstanding amount to be settled. I am truly astonished by the duty manager reply. Anyway long story short it will be last with Sofitel
Fifidog1 (8/5): Luxury Hotel done right - The hotel is located in the higher-class area Damansara. There is a small shopping center about 50m from the entrance and a large shopping center about 200m away, within walking distance but bring an umbrella if you think it might rain. The hotel is quite grand and the staff are friendly. They seem rather busy so check-in might take a while. The room I was given was really luxurious and easily the best room of my trip. It was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. TV channels were ok but there was no option to stream. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and the food was mostly good. The executive lounge is rather grand. The food served during cocktails was good, though I felt the cocktails themselves were average. The pool is rather fancy. It was an odd shape which made laps difficult but not impossible.
