Guest Reviews
- VIVIENNE (8/5): Handy apartment for Milano Centrale rail station. - The apartment was extremely convenient to Milano Centrale rail station being only a five minute walk away.
Francesco was extremely kind and helpful and concerned for us since our train from Palermo was over two hours late.
The house manager had waited patiently for us in the apartment and we were unable to let him know of our later arrival because although there is wifi on the train there was no connection.
I mention this only to advise any prospective guests to give your mobile number so that one could message rather than email.
We were checked into a very quiet apartment that was through a door into a courtyard and then through into another courtyard in a very elegant Milanese building.
The flat had everything one needed and in a way was wasted on us for a few hours sleep! I say this because it had a very good and spacious bathroom area with a separate shower in there. A small kitchen area which would allow one to cook if one was there for longer.
For expensive Milan it was very reasonable indeed.
- David (2/5): Horrifice excuse for a hotel - Horrific excuse for a hotel. Liars. This is inside an apartment complex. It is a walkup without a lift. Luggage has to be carried up flight of stairs. It has no Telephone. The water heater is noisy. It is an electronic heater. The shower runs from Hot to Cold within seconds. The proprietor did not show up when they were supposed to. We had to get a neighboring business to call them. They said they would arrive in 10-minutes, they took 40. Standing in front of their building there is no way to know what this was. Then upon being escorted to the room. The guy showed us some false text claiming that we owed 36-euros more, or could not stay. RIP OFF! The bathroom was dirty as well. Very uncomfortable, especially for an international traveler. They use Hotel within their name, but that is a total and complete lie. Worst experience I have had in lodging. Hotels.com needs to do a better job in not having its clients (us) go through this pain and injustice. What is the 36-euro rip off about? they wait for you to show up and then sock you with an added and undisclosed fee.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Apartment was not the same as shown on the internet. No one was available to talk to about the apartment for things we needed..... no soap dish in the shower... no place to put anything in the shower.... It was pretty much just a barebones place to stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Studio in apartment complex - The room was very clean and close to the train station. There were a number of places to eat within walking. The bed was comfortable. The room seemed more like an AirBnB; the word hotel is misleading. It’s located within an apartment complex. It felt a little cave-like with one window that looked out on an apartment walkway so the shutters block people walking by from being able to see in. I just needed an overnight place between train rides, and it served that purpose, but I do not think it was worth the cost.
- RT (4/5): - Room and location is fine. When traveling from the nearby Garibaldi train station, use the Via G. Pepe exit to quickly get to the room/ Isola neighborhood.
Checkin was horrendous, as you need to wait for a Home at Hotel agent to meet you, since this is basically a room in an apartment building. Our train was delayed, so we arrived late, and no agent was present. I needed to call the agent, who finally arrived 30 minutes later.
I was aware I would need to pay additional tax and cleaning fee at checkout, but the agent demanded that I needed to pay an additional 65 Euro in cash at checkin without detailing what the charges were for, because my Expedia confirmation had explained only 34 Euro in additional costs. I disputed the charge, the agent drove me to an ATM to get more cash, and eventually we squared away at an additional 40 Euro, but it was very stressful and added unnecessary and uncertain negotiations to a check in process that should have been simple. I never received an invoice. The whole Home at Hotel scheme seems like it is in its infancy, is not professional, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you want a lot of hassle.
Expedia should not use this room vendor unless it improves its service.
My friend who booked via Airbnb a room closeby had a checkin experience that was a million times better.
Also, the room picture in the listing is not the same as the room available.
