Catherine (10/5): Perfection - The property is gorgeous. The interior design is eloquent and sophisticated with every thoughtful touch considered and present. This includes, dressing gowns, slippers, instructions on how to use the a/c as well as divine smelling toiletries. The staff are outstanding. Michelle and Donald you have a fabulous boutique hotel and if we are ever back in Jo’burg we will book a stay in a heartbeat. Oh I forgot to say that the kitchen has a very talented chef too. Nothing. We were able to relax and read our books after a chaotic vacation before we took the long journey home. It delivered on every level.

We mochten de kamer aanhouden omdat onze vlucht pas ‘s avonds ging. De kamers waren bizar groot, schoon en een fantastisch bed. Het ligt in een prachtige en veilige wijk en dichtbij de grote mall.

My meeting location was just down the road. Facilities good and Donald is extremely attentive. The bed in our room was extremely hard. The checkout was a bit cumbersome as my husband had to enter details of banking etc all over again despite having already settled the account on booking and only needing to settle extras.

Carri (10/5): Beautifully appointed hotel, your true home away from home in Johannesburg! - This was an oasis inside Johannesburg. 58 on Hume is a beautifully decorated, expansive (I would guess) former home that has been converted to a small hotel. It is absolutely stunning and the Proprietor Michelle has thought of absolutely everything you could ever want or need during your stay. Our room was very large and extremely comfortable. The living area was beautifully appointed and so inviting with a nice fire and views of the beautiful yard and pool area. Michelle and her team are incredible welcoming and accommodating. It was the perfect set up and we will definitely stay again! And the breakfast- exceptional! Absolutely nothing.

Kristin (8/5): Cosy and quite guesthouse near Rosebank Mall - Located in a quiet street, the rooms are cozy and comfortable with high quality bed linen and towels. There are nice teas, coffee and small treats. The garden with pool and veranda is lush and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and happy to assist. I booked the last room available and probably therefore got the least nice one. It was street facing and overlooked the parking area. There was no door to the bathroom, hence no privacy if staying with two people. Because there is no bathroom door, the room was light in the early morning despite the blockout curtains in the bedroom. The breakfast was excellent but although I had notified the guesthouse that I am gluten free, there was no gluten free bread on the first day. This was however rectified on the second morning. I didn’t appreciate the dogs begging at the breakfast table every day.

Mike (10/5): Exceptional - I have stayed at 58 on Hume a number of times. It is an island of serenity close to the busy commercial hubs of Rosebank and Sandton, with many fine restaurants nearby. Michelle and her well-trained staff are always friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed and quiet, and the breakfast is excellent. Importantly, the owners have taken all the steps necessary to counter the twin scourges of periodic power and water shortages that the city administrators have inflicted upon the inhabitants of Johannesburg, which makes for a very comfortable stay.

Mike (10/5): Quiet, well-managed accommodation - This has been my fifth or sixth stay at this establishment and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is set in a quiet leafy suburb yet very close to the bustling shopping and dining precinct of Rosebank. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished and the breakfast is excellent. Michelle and her team deserve the compliments they get. Importantly, the management has installed solar power and a generator to overcome the problem of loadshedding that besets the city.

We relaxed by the pool after a hectic trip to Zimbabwe and it was the perfect spot to recharge before travelling back home to the UK. Clara (9/5): Lovely stay in the quiet sunlit garden boutique hotel - I loved my stay. SPacious sunlight apt with a balcony. I restored in the sun and full immersion in nature. The staff is adorable and the breakfast was lovely. I thoroughly recommend this place for anyone traveling solo or in a couple. Suitable for work trips top, great wifi There were no bad aspects to the property. I felt right at home. Michell and the staff were great. The place exceeed my expectations. I will return!

The guesthouse makes you feel like at home with alot more luxury. Will defenitely stay here again. The breakfast options are just amazing and the choices are endless.
Andrew (10/5): The most amazing place I've ever stayed in, in a city - My goodness this place is INCREDIBLE. It's a 40 room mansion that now has 10 guest bedrooms. I did have the best suite but it was really pretty cheap to be honest, and absolutely enormous. Every single thing was delightful and perfect. All the furnishings, the bar, the lounge, the bathroom (has a spa bath), towels, bed (so cosy, loved it) were outstanding. There were luxury touches everywhere that I had never seen in accomodation before, flowers, a wonderful (small) gym, the pool and garden are ridiculously beautiful. The wifi was great, the staff were so helpful and not intrusive. You get to order whatever you want for breakfast, and I'm sure the dinner would also be wonderful (although I went out to Fishmongers for dinner and that was sublime). The owner was always available and super fun and friendly and accomodating, and just so genuine. She helped me with buying shoes, finding a good barber, booking dinner. I loved everything. I felt like a prince.

Sufia (9/5): Beautiful balance between feeling at home and well taken care of. - Outstanding breakfast. Great location. Security was solid with the guest-controlled gate clicker. Gym was simple but had everything I needed. Shower pressure excellent. Space/size generous. Brandy in the rooms was a lovely touch! I enjoy dogs so loved the guesthouse owner's dogs, but something to keep in mind. A little expensive compared to other options in Joburg.
Anna (9/5): An oasis in Joberg - lovely rooms, great pool and fab breakfast - We absolutely loved our stay here. The place is lovely, safe and peaceful. Our Junior Suite was a great size, very clean and well equipped with everything we needed and more! Michelle is delightful and went out of her way to help make my Partner's birthday really special. The breakfast is amazing - a lot of choice and all very tasty. We really enjoyed relaxing on the terrace and lounging by the pool. An oasis in such a busy city! Nothing really!
Christopher (10/5): Great venue close to Rosebank - palatial home away from home. - We had 3 weeks in South Africa at a range of wonderful places, but the hospitality at 58 on Hume was second to none. Michelle was considerate and extremely helpful. The venue is also nicer than the photo's imply which was a pleasant surprise - great big patio by the pool for relaxing, double volume entrance area and possibly the largest walk-in robe we have ever seen - just all together excellent. The bedding also has a top sheet, blanket and duvet giving you all the temperature options - something we really appreciate. There appeared to be an issue with the aircon when we were there, but it didn't really impact us with very pleasant weather. Fans provided were more than adequate.

Chandni (10/5): Perfect spot to stay. - Everything was incredible. Firstly, the property is stunning!! Our room was huge, spacious and very comfortable and the communal areas are beautiful. There were little treats for us daily. The location was great, we were able to walk around to the local mall and have many of our meals there. Best of all was the service. My husband is vegan and we had specific vegan treats in our room which were replenished daily and the breakfast was incredible. Michelle and her team went all out to provide SO many options for us and even googled breakfast recipes for us to eat. The whole experience was amazing and I'd highly recommend staying here. Nothing, everything was perfect.

Jan (10/5): beautiful, affordable and great location - Exceptional guest house in walking distance from Rosebank. the rooms were large and comfortable and with a lot storing space. I would come back for vacation but also for business travel. The guest house has two wonderful dogs and does a great breakfast. overall great value for money.

Mary (10/5): This is a great place. Hands down. - This is a fabulous place. Michelle and her family (and 3 dogs) are amazing hosts. Breakfasts are great; accommodations comfortable; and location is good. I think the things that won me over were the small touches--heated mattresses, fire place, great array of breakfast foods, natural light, all kinds of coffee and tea in the bedroom; and chocolate on the bed at night. and of course, the wonderful South African hospitality of Michelle (and visiting parents--Marlene and Louis!) Thank you so much, Michelle, for making my time in Joburg a comfortable one. I will be back--on holiday! :)
