Guest Reviews
- Daniel (8/5): - Homeros Guesthouse is located in an attractive and peaceful suburb of Selçuk, just five minutes' walk from the centre where many restaurants and shops are to be found. There are also a couple of cafés within a few steps of the hotel. The views across the surrounding landscape are splendid. Although there is no dedicated car park, there is ample parking in the streets immediately around. The host family are extremely welcoming and speak English. Breakfast costs extra (€6 in July 2025) but is absolutely worth the price, with a diverse spread of fresh fruits, cheeses, breads, jams, honey, tea, and more. Payment is by cash on; no cards. Wi-fi was functional. The décor is dated, but in a quaint way that makes the rooms feel more charmingly traditional than run-down. There were a couple of minor issues in need of attention (both bedside lamps in our room were broken, and the insect screens on the windows had many large holes torn out) but overall everything was clean and we enjoyed our stay very much. We would certainly stay here again.
- Anne (6/5): - The property is unique in its cultural furnishings.
- Fiona (10/5): - A gem of a friendly, comfortable and clean guest house. Great breakfast and the family are lovely. Walking distance to some good restaurants and historic sights.
- sravanthi (10/5): - It may be small rooms property but overall it was amazing, with vintage and antique items. Owner is very nice and helpful.
- Ander (8/5): - Buen alojamiento calidad/precio.
- Nadia (10/5): Struttura originale e piacevolissima - Non è solo arredato tradizionalmente, è proprio una struttura ancora originale. Bello!
- Charlotte (10/5): - My friend and I had such a lovely stay at Homeros Pension & Guesthouse!! It’s an old building so nothing fancy if that’s what you’re looking for, but it has a lovely homely feel to the place as the photos show. The owner is super kind and welcoming, and the rooftop is great to catch the sunset. It’s a 5 min walk to the bus station and there’s a good little coffee shop a few metres away.
- Cüneyt (8/5): Butik güzellik - Odalar küçük ama yeterli konfora sahipti. Yatak rahattı. Klima sessizdi. Banyo gayet temizdi.
- Marie-Jill (4/5): - Way, way too much stuff so it’s dark and dusty. The bathroom doesn’t have a real door. We found a roach on our last evening. That being said, it’s a nice location near Ephesus, you can leave your car on the street in front.
- Abdurrahman Cetin (6/5): -
Frankly, We didn't find enough care from hotel owner . Authentic but too exaggerated decoration.
- Peter (8/5): - The property felt like home, a very friendly owner who happily answered any questions we had. Property very close to bus station, food establishments, shopping and sights. Would highly recommend.
- AJ (8/5): - Family owned guest house with the most lovely staff. Only downside would be the cramped bathroom with temperamental showerhead. But otherwise beautifully decorated, good value accommodation.
- BURAK (6/5): - Ödemenin nakit alınması son derece sorunlu. Otelin koşulları vasat. Pek özenli bir otel değil. Tek kullanımlık terlikler poşet içinde değildi. Hijyen konusu tatmin edici değil.
- wendy (10/5): - Very friendly and accommodating
- Uri (10/5): a nice small hotel in Selcuk - we have enjoyed our stay. good place in good location.
- Pamela (10/5): - What a gem. Full of character and old Turkish atmosphere. Hospitality is exceptional and the breakfast the best we have had on our travels in Turkey. Great location.
Fabulous Museum within 5 minutes walk, Basilica 5 minutes, bus station for local bus to Ephesus and longer distance buses too is only 8 minutes away. Same for restaurants. Super find
- Holly (10/5): - Loved staying here, wonderful hosts!
- Pamela (8/5): - Good owner managed, large local breakfast quiet. Good sunset view from roof past Artemis temple column
Recommended for travellers seeking local quaint
- CANDICE (10/5): Enjoyed my return to the Homeros. - I had stayed at Homeros when I had been in Selcuk about 5 years ago and had a good experience. The hosts are still friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The room definitely had a local comfortable feel, not the typical hotel room. The Homeros attracts people from many places in the world, so it's fun to meet people in the breakfast room.
- Johnny (8/5): - First and foremost, we were welcomed with open arms to Homeros Pension & Guesthouse. But it doesn't stop there. Our room was extremely clean and the included breakfast was generous and varied, including egg, bread, cheeses, fruit, vegetables and an array of condiments. We opted for a twin, which was an exceptional deal. The showerhead needs some attention but still got the job done.
- Noelia (10/5): - Una estancia muy agradable
- Pushpam (10/5): - Very nicely maintained and friendly family run place. Gem of a place.
Zimmer seh r eng, kein Schrank, kaum Ablagemöglichkeit, Gemeinschaftsbad, aber Matratzen gut. Für einen Kurzaufenthalt bestens geeignet. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten fußläufig erreichbar
- Greg (8/5): Gregs stay - Very simple. Walls had i dont know what on some parts and a scary looking hoke in the roof. Views from top great. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Comfortable night. Some ower points in bedroom not working.
- Timothy (6/5): Dusty room but clean bedding. - This place has potential but our room was very dusty. The bed sheets and towels were clean and not dusty, just the room furniture itself. We were given a very small room, which was fine, but it felt like there was too much furniture in the room to be able to move around easily. Breakfast was good and the owner was friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and helpful staff! Decent breakfast. A "free welcome drink" is advertised on hotels.com, but the host didn't seem to know about it.
- Roshiedy (8/5): - Good location. Hotel decorated in authentic Turkish style. Very different with other hotel I experienced. Breakfast served and very nice.
- Jirawat (10/5): - The place is so unique and authentic, taken care by a friendly and warm-hearted host.
Walkable from everything: bus station, train station, super market, walking street Saturday Farmer’s Market, and St.John Church.
You can see all the attraction from its panorama rooftop!
- Ramon (8/5): - : ubicación, terraza, personal
- Sarah (8/5): - Lovely pension. Ok, a little rough around the edges, but you can see from the photos what it's like and for the price it was great. Wonderful breakfast and very friendly and helpful owners.
- gayle (10/5): - Wonderful decor and excellent service. Sadly we had to leave after one night as felt like staying.
- Renaud (10/5): Comfy and friendly - Perfect stay, friendly host. Good vibes and easy going. Comfy rooms.
- Anne (8/5): - A lovely old property, beautifully decorated. The owner was courteous, and the breakfast good.
The shared bathroom wasn't that clean and the air conditioner in room 2 does not work. I was upgraded the following day. Recommended if you choose the ensuite rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location great hospitality
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place has so much charm and character! The owners are incredibly helpful and welcoming and the property is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and clean.
- Edward (10/5): Very cute home-feeling guest house - A very cute location with lots of home-style decorations that make it feel like staying at a family member's house. Lots of lounge and rooftop areas to hang out in, and a friendly staff that is very helpful with advice on how to get around. Breakfast was very enjoyable as well.
Laundry service at the hotel was inexpensive and fast (though drying will depend on the weather).
There are no refrigerators in the rooms, and the bathrooms are very small, but considering the low cost of the room it is an acceptable tradeoff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderful stay. Very friendly and helpful people. Very close to bus station and may restaurants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Handy to train and bus staion and Domas is on bottom road to go to Epheus.
- Muireann (10/5): - Lovely hotel with traditional Turkish decor, friendly owner
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient and quiet location - Their rooms are in two different buildings to each other on a quiet street, convenient for both the train station and the bus station. Owner seems to base in the kitchen area upstairs so a bell may be needed to get her.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - good for a short stay - An older place and frayed around the edges, but surprisingly comfortable, with highly helpful and friendly hosts and an excellent location.
- Carolyn (10/5): Steps away from everything - Stayed for 3 nights. Place is clean, rooms filled with antiques and nostalgia. Med to small room but very small private bathroom. Very hot water and good wifi.. The owner is very friendly and helpful...she puts on a very good Turkish breakfast with homemade preserves and dishes from her mother. Location is 8 minutes walking from the train station and 5 minutes from the bus. Two different buildings each with its own little sitting area and one with a roof top terrace. Selcuk is a quaint small town.
- David (8/5): Quirky little pension, nice but bathroom was small - The owner was happy to open the hotel (no other guests) and leave us to get on with things.
Lovely Lady
- Riki (10/5): Incredible stay - Humeros Guesthouse is one of the most amazing places we have stayed in Turkey. The lady working their was awesome and so helpful. The breakfast was also incredible. Highly recommend staying here.
