Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a family member or legal guardian (18 years or older) and stay in a private room. Lea (10/5): Jederzeit wieder, absolute Empfehlung! - Das Hostel ist sehr nah am Stand, 2 Supermärkten und einigen Restaurants gelegen. Alles ist fußläufig super erreichbar. Das Privatzimmer war sehr sauber und die Klimaanlage war leise und hat gut gekühlt. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Die Küche ist gut bestückt. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Der ganze Vibe des Hostels war sehr positiv, freundschaftlich und generell einfach schön! :)

Great clean pool area and weekly event/social schedule Assumed the room had AC. Most did but mine didn't so if you are sensitive to heat make sure to check your room options. Shared bathroom was fine but be aware no hot water. It is hot in Sta Teresa so I didnt mind but worth noting

Just a few steps from Playa Carmen, surrounded by the sound of the ocean and the rhythm of the waves, it’s a true paradise for surfers of every level. They offer surfboard rentals at fair prices compared to nearby shops, especially if you rent for several days. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are cooled by air conditioning, and the common spaces are always clean, welcoming, and FULL OF LIFE (special thanks to GATO for this). But the real soul of La Posada lives in its PEOPLE. As a solo traveler, I was welcomed with warmth from the very first day. From the kind and attentive management to the amazing volunteers, everyone made me feel at home, and never alone. I spent the Christmas holidays there, and instead of feeling far from home, I found myself sharing laughter, meals, and moments that felt like family. La Posada will definitely be my go-to place every time I come back to Costa Rica. Highly recommended!

Elke (10/5): - Als Familie waren wir hier bestimmt nicht die Zielgruppe-trotzdem waren alle super freundlich. Die Hostel boys und girls hatten immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen und haben sich sogar Zeit für ein Spiel mit unserem Sohn genommen :) der Pool war natürlich eine Bonuspunkt. Küche war gut organisiert-genügend Kühlschränke und Körbe für alle. Es war natürlich gerade am Abend etwas lauter, aber nicht so lange und hat uns als Familie mit 3 jährigen überhaupt nicht gestört. Den Stand fanden wir persönlich weiter nördlich etwas schöner, weil weniger Steine sind.

Lakanat haisivat hieman pahalle, ehkä kosteuden takia. WC pöntön toimivuuden kanssa oli haasteita. Erikoisruokavalioita ei huomioitu aamupalalla.

El staff me ayudó cada vez que los solicité, son todos muy amorosos. Me hubiese gustado que las habitaciones compartidas tengan cortinas en las camas ya que son un poco pequeñas para 6 personas.

The hostel had a good size swimming pool. A short walk to the restaurant & bars, shops laundry atm. For me nothing negative to say about this hostel.

Maria (8/5): Chill social surf hostel - The staff was so lovely and amazing. They were so lovely and helped me through everything I could have needed. They had surfboards at the hostel you can rent for $15 a day (cash only). They also have plenty of activities and excursions you can do. This is a prime location in my opinion. Its a 5-minute or so walk to the beach, 2-minute walk to the supermarket and laundry mat, and there are sodas and restaurants scattered in between. It's a bit far from the Santa Theresa town about a 30-minute walk or so. Not really too doable with how hot it is. The waves were great at the beach, its a pretty clean beach as well. There's plenty of shade to rest in right on the beach. Quiet and chill. Id definitely recommend it to others. Theres a lot of pros and cons to this place but if you want to surf and be on the beach. This is the place to be and you cant beat the price. The beds were literally rock-hard. After several nights, I got used to it but definitely could use a mattress update. Also for some reason, the bathroom in the all Female dorm room seemed to smell so bad and the smell really didn't go away. Most of the time the showers were cold but sometimes they were burning hot. Not really an in-between. Also, the town (as they told us) turns off their water it seems quiet often, and also sometimes their power as well. The water was shut off for 2 full days when I was there and the power was out all day one day. The breakfast was nice to have every day but it was a very small portion. Matthew (8/5): Most international people I've met anywhere, and mid high range stay for hostle. - Meeting new people of other than my nationality. There was such a diverse crowd of welcoming people that allowed me to escape my society a bit. It is a bit off the beach. If I was to say there was something I wasn't keen on, but given the rate and everything else great about the stay, I'm not complaining.

Elaine (10/5): A great and comfortable hostel to meet new friends! - I loved my stay at this hostel :) The energy is amazing here and it is really easy to meet new friends here! Additionally the hostel is super close to the beach and has a great location! I was worried that there would be no AC in my 4-bed mixed dormitory because it is not listed, however they had AC in I think all rooms. There was also a super cute cat that was very entertaining!

Yamlek (6/5): Depends on the type of tourist you are - The hostel has an excellent location and the staff (specially the receptionist) were very nice and attentive. The breakfast was fine as well if you want to eat a little something before heading to the beach. While we were there there was a party (music, screams, etc) by some guests that went up until 4 AM, nobody from the staff stopped it from happening even though they are supposed to have a “silent hours” schedule. Another thing that worried me about the party is that these guests invited people from outside of the hostel to it, making us feel less secure. We couldn’t sleep more than 4 hours that day. The bathroom didn’t have any toiletries and in general it was a bit uncomfortable to us. The parking might be tricky as well.
Bavo (8/5): Very good - I loved the staff. The breakfast provided! and the area of where it was located in town was really good. Calm good place. The wifi didn’t work for 3 days while there. And the water turned off one day while I was showering. But still loved it regardless of these things.

Michelle (10/5): A great stay with excellent amenities, but the extra key fee was an unexpected downside. - I really enjoyed the pool, and the convenience of having a supermarket nearby was a big plus. The extra fee for the hotel keys it should have been included in the total cost.
Evva (10/5): Exceptional - I absolutely loved this hostel! The staff were friendly, the kitchen area was great and had everhtbing you needed. The pool was so clean and perfect for the hot days. The room was extremely clean, probably the cleanest room I’ve had on my entire trip. Due to low season it’s not very social but there is so much to do around the area it was not a problem for me. But if your looking for a more social atmosphere maybe would not recommend

Daberkow (7/5): Good choice. - Located close to the beach and only a few minutes walk to restaurants and supermarkets. Staff was friendly and helpful with the organisation of our travel to the next destination.
Isabella (8/5): Lovely place, next to the beach and cool vibe - (Private room review) Has free parking for private rooms, it is a bit tight so bare in mind if you have a big car. Rooms are spacious, nice size. Has A/c. You can pay by credit card with no additional fees. Breakfast is simple but really good and helps you get through the morning: 1 pancake + fruit. Also they have a well organized kitchen where you can store your food and cook. They have ping pong and pool tables. The pool is a nice thing to have. Staff is awesome!!! Super helpful and kind: they help you with tours, rentals, questions, etc. Parking kind of small, not suitable for small, low cars but no big deal. You need to carry cash with you for the key deposit. Nothing else to say here :)

Jack (7/5): Good value for money stay right on the beach in Santa Teresa - The staff were friendly and happy to help with booking tours and transfers or any other questions you might have about the local area. The location was right on the beach and there was lots of nice bars and restaurants to visit in the evening. Especially to watch the sunset from the beach. Not really the hotels fault but the main road outside is pretty dusty and everybody seems to travel around on ATVs and motorbikes. This means there’s dust in the air constantly and you are walking it around the hostel and into the rooms etc.
Ulrik (8/5): Very good - A nice pool and vibe. Easy to get to know different people with the spacious reception area in the middle of the hostel. Also easy to get tips and help from the staff. We liked the possibility the hostel had for table tennis and pool, even though it was a bit old and well used. The location was great, right by a laundry and a food store, and just a few minutes to walk down to the beach. In the night there were a guard at the gate. The kitchen worked pretty well with three fridges and two stoves for cooking. Even though having AC in the room, it was really hot. The toilet in our dorm didn't flush well and the sink hardly gave any water when we turned it on. The kitchen had a lot of flies and ants. The breakfast was nice with fruits and a pancake but lacked proteins.
Elizabeth (7/5): The location was good, in the heart of Santa Teresa South and the beach was walking distance. - Privacy and basic needs were met. I felt rushed out of the room. The cleaning lady was at my door exactly at 11 am wanting me to leave. I would have liked to have a little more time until my next place was ready. It's a quiet, hostel experience if that is what you are looking for.
Hanna (10/5): Would definitely stay here again if going to Santa Teresa! - Great staff and very clean. Good kitchen and the breakfast was really tasty. Two of us are gluten free and this was no problem at all, which we appreciated alot. The location is also perfect, close to everything! We recommend so much. Best hostel (of 4 different) we stayed at in Santa Teresa. Nothing.
Eunice (1/5): Bad - Pool It wasn’t clean, they kept my deposit for an old towel I returned because I left earlier than reception and my key deposit. The place is far from santa teresa and not cleaned greatly I would not return
Clare (10/5): Exceptional - Really good vibe in the hostel, I kept extending my stay because of the social vibe. If you wanted to go out there was people to go out with but it was also quiet past 11pm if you don't want to go out. The volunteers and staff were really nice. The pool area was actually how it looks in the pictures. Really well equipped kitchen and delicious breakfast. If you don't like pancakes every day, but personally I never got sick of it! The location is good if you are a decent surfer, but for me the waves were a bit big at the beach near the hostel, however it's easy to take a bus to playa hermosa
