- Karen (1/5): POOR. - Nothing went well apart from checking out earlier than paid for. Awful hotel. So bad we checked out the next day even though we had paid for two night. Room was pokey, the window wouldn't stay open. The smell of cooking came into the room. The bathroom had a big step to get in?out off. A spot light on the outside came through the blind. The breakfast was absolutely dire. Dirty cups which I told the waitress who then snatched them out of my hand and got the waiter to get two more to which he stood in the middle of the floor to look at the dirty cups. No apologies was given. £10 a night for parking. When we checked the area it was not in a good place. Great big pothole right near our car dark and dingy. Ordered a cup of tea at the bar and the member of staff that served us made us feel we were putting her out. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It looks very tired on the outside and it's just the start of the season.

- Rhiannon (8/5): Great staff, great location, needs a little updating. - The staff were amazing and the beachfront location was incredible! Our room was very spacious and quiet and the bed was large and comfortable. There were a couple of what I would consider "hidden" costs. The parking is £10 a day but it is essentially valet parking. The breakfast included in the room price is a continental breakfast, which I actually felt was very good, however, you had to pay extra for any "hot" food and this was £10 per dish. Whilst some of this looked worth the money (the cooked breakfast), I had avocado and eggs on toast, which i did not feel was worth £10. It was essentially a piece of toast with guacamole and (admittedly very nice!) poached eggs. I don't mind paying more, but I think this should be priced based on the meal rather than £10 for all. I also think in general the hotel could do with a little bit of updating.

- Anne (8/5): Nettes Hotel in sehr guter Lage - Die Zimmer waren sauber und gut ausgestattet, schönes Bad mit zwei Fenstern. Die Lage war mega, mit tollem Meerblick und kurzem Fußweg zur Bahn und in die Innenstadt bzw. dem Hafen. Der SPA war sehr nett mit einem schönen Pool, Sauna und gute Massage-Therapeuten. Leider hatte unser Zimmer einen Balken im Raum, so dass man herumlaufen musste. Das war sehr unschön gelöst und hat leider den Flair genommen. Das Frühstück war überschaubar und für mich mit zu vielen süßen Sachen bestückt.

Hotel breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. Special shout out to Dan, who was really great and made us feel right at home! We'll definitely be back! The hotel was a bit of a steep climb up from the station/beach - not a problem for most people, however pregnant or the elderly might find it a challenge to get back from town

Das ansprechende Spa bietet ein gute Möglichkeit ein Ausweichprogramm bei regenwetter zu ermöglichen. Die Fotos schmeichel dem Hotel. Generell könnte die Zimmer und manche Bereiche des Hotel mehr Pflege vertragen. Die Sauberkeit ist nicht auf dem Niveau, dass man von einen Hotel dieser Katagorie erwarten darf. Das sehr schone Spa ist vermutlich in der Hauptsaison schnell überlaufen da lediglich 6 Liegen verfügbar sind.

- Scott (1/5): Terrible - The view Room and bathroom very tired. Although staff very nice waited 10 mins on a dirty table for drinks. First night dinner ran out of fish and chips and steak. We went to bed hungry. Richard Lowe was contacted via email we were given a complimentary bottle of proceesco and dinner unfortunately no face to face . He has since offered a 2 night complimentary stay after I made it clear I wasn't happy. Unfortunately it was almost a month ago I sent him some dates but no reply. I have the feeling they would like this to go away. We are requesting a charge back very disappointing as it was a special occasion.

- Jonathan (6/5): Great location. Service not up to the standards i expect from the harbour hotel group. - Amazing location and incredible views The parking situation is farcical. You pay £10 a day and the doorman parks your car away somewhere! My car was returned to me in a completely unacceptable condition with bird mess covering vehicle to the point where i could barely see out of windscreen. Had to get car valeted next day. There was no offer to clean the car and in fact it was passed to me as a bit of a joke ‘ a present from st ives’ was the exact words told to me by the doorman. Unacceptable. If you take a residents car keys and charge them to park, then you should make sure the car is returned in the same condition it was given in trust to you. Future customers please beware!

My room was spacious, clean, and well-kept. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the bathrobe for the pool. It is a very special place. The view could have been better :)

Nice touch. Carpets were stained, balcony in room furniture a bit unloved. Outside terrace not looked after like in pictures. Wet cushions strewn around. So couldn’t sit out there. Says breakfast included but that’s just continental selection. Have to pay extra for full English etc….bit misleading.

Complementary G&T a nice touch. Hotel clean, well furnished and decorated. Good restaurant well served Room too small to take Wardrobe, chest of drawers, double bed, side tables, table and chair, little room to move around or use surfaces. no hooks to hang dressing gown, scarf etc. Unpredictable shower temperature. Empty bottles not cleared daily. Spa: Pool too warm, a lot of noise (particularly from people in jacussi), unpredictable shower temperature. Butter (for breakfast) unpleasant
- George (8/5): Overall a very pleasant few days. - There was a lovely view of Porthminster beach from the dining room. Generally the hotel was very comfortable, the spa and fitness centre were excellent, and staff were friendly. It was an easy and agreeable walk into the town centre, though some guests have complained about it being a bit far! Overall, a very relaxing few days. Like other customers, we felt the extra costs for parking and cooked breakfast were not sufficiently clearly advertised up front. On arrival we had tea in the bar area and the teapot spout was cracked and caused spillage; later in the stay we had a chipped milk jug at breakfast. Not good enough! The bath lacked handrails and anti-slip map - we're not quite needing them yet, but many guests will. The staff were friendly enough but when we asked for the dessert menu, the waiter forgot all about it. All of this falls short of what one would expect from a 4-star experience.

- Carr (7/5): - Aside from the hotel's name itself, the ads suggested you could see the harbour from the hotel. You can't from most rooms including ours although we had a great view of the sea and the beach. The standard of the food was good overall but on the second night we ate there the main course was exceptionally disappointing. It was obvious the main course had been prepared and left under a warming grill lamp or on a warming plate for far too long. The pasta casing of my ravioli was rubbery and chewy, a long way from al dente and my wife's salmon was thoroughy dried out. We mentioned this at the time and were assured an adjustment would be made to our bill but it wasn't. I raised that at check out and was assured something would be credited to my card later. It wasn't.
- EARL (7/5): Lovely stay but having plentiful stock is important especially when it’s on menus - For Cleanliness of hotel and rooms. Smashing spa spa facilities and attentive staff. Chap welcoming us at breakfast remembered our surname which is a lovely touch. For the cost of the hotel we would have expected full English breakfast not continental. There were things missing on the menu at breakfast on 2nd morning, which should have been available but we were told they had ran out. We couldn’t get light bits on the Saturday evening because there was a party downstairs so that option wasn’t available for hotel guests that night because of the party. They didn’t have all the ingredients for a non alcoholic cocktail I requested and when I said they weren’t doing well they gave us the drinks complimentary which was kind of the lady but for a four star hotel you’d expect better availability.

- Tessa (9/5): Most convenient hotel in St Ives. - Hotel location and views excellent. Reception Restaurant and bar staff so welcoming and attentive. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Spa staff welcoming and informative. Did not find enough information on parking. Only when we had arrived and paid for parking for 2days at the railway station that we learnt there was valet parking provided by the hotel at a small carpark next to the station. It would have made unloading suit cases easier.

Greeted with a gin and tonic waiting in the room, service was magnificent, the restaurant and bar staff so accommodating, the gym was great, location even better, the views stunning. The room we had was incredible and the view onto the coast was breathtaking. The food and servers were lovely, a really great atmosphere. The spa facilities were one of the best. If you want cooked breakfast there is an extra charge it’s an easy walk down to Porthminster beach but it is uphill coming back with steps involved Parking is available at £10 per night. There are pull ins opposite the hotel - you just leave your car there. Hotel staff take your car and park it safely for you We had a superior sea view room and did expect a walk in shower. We are older so climbing in and out of a bath with shower over was not ideal

The staff was very attentive, and catered to everything we wanted. The atmosphere was chilled out and peaceful and quiet. Our room was amazing with a stunning view. Plenty of amenities in the room and through the hotel. Would highly recommend anyone getting married here. It was a magical day made possible by everyone in the hotel especially the wedding coordinators.
- ANNIE (10/5): Great location and nicely appointed rooms. - Great location over looking the beach. Rooms really nicely decorated. Staff friendly. Nothing really. But to be picky our room and bathroom could have done with a couple of hooks to hang our coat and bathrobes as it was a small room.

The hotel is so gorgeous, the location is incredible and the view over the beach is glorious to wake up to. The team had left a lovely anniversary card for us in the room and it’s those personal touches that make it feel so special. We also love the spa and the food in the restaurant.

- G2103NDsusanw (8/5): Enjoy the views! - Very nice hotel looking over the beach in St Ives. Car parking - it was a bit confusing on arrival as to where to leave the car for valet parking. The hotel is on quite a busy road so some guidance would have been helpful. There are 3 spaces opposite the hotel entrance allocated to the hotel but these were full when I arrived. Beautiful views from my room and the public areas. Food was very good and the restaurant staff were charming - always cheerful and very helpful. Bit of an issue in that on one day the room locks were being changed which meant I couldn’t access my room for an hour or so and was given no advance warning. I believe this was a mistake but it was a bit annoying at the time. Be aware that it is a 10 minute walk down into St Ives and a steep walk back up. But the views are lovely so take your time and enjoy! PS - if you are using the lift please make sure you close both the doors when you exit so that others can use it!

- Clare (8/5): - The view and the very friendly and helpful staff Parking isn’t good and it’s difficult unloading and loading luggage as there’s nowhere to park safely immediately outside. A member of staff helped us and then parked the car but we could have done with a porter to help.
- David (7/5): We stayed here a few years ago and it was wonderful. It feels as though it has lost its special edge. There are now much - Great location, especially if you have a sea view room. Parking is a pain. The room was ok, but nothing special for £200 per night. The breakfast was “average” at best. The extras such as breakfast included only being continental, and car parking charges were not explained at the property.

- Caroline (6/5): Disapointing - Good for walking into town, very clean. The breakfast staff first 2 days were excellent. Lovely bath in bathroom. On booking.com says parking but then u find out you actually have to pay for parking. Third days breakfast service was a write off complete chaos ages queuing up to get a table, the eggs benedict was dreadful snotty eggs and not toasted muffin. Other tables drinks forgotten and incorrect. For 2 of our 3 nights we were on top floor and the third floor corridor stunk of weed. The room whilst nice was very small not what we expected for £750 for 3 nights. Also were both over 5’11 and too tall to fit under shower head in bathroom!

- BuckyBoyVic (10/5): Feb weekend break - Spent 3 nights here with the Mrs and couldn’t fault the hotel. Good accommodating staff, lovely spa area and a well equipped gym. Good continental breakfast (hot food was priced as an extra £10 but wasn’t needed by us). Our room was situated above the spa and was on the hot side with no ability to really turn the heat down (even too hot for the Mrs who has fingers made of ice!). I tend to judge hotels by their ability to deal with issues/complaints and their response to this was superb and more than we could have asked/hoped for. The only negative is that where they park your car opposite on the first floor was flooded causing issues with wet shoes going to and from the car but other than this, a great stay and will absolutely stay again!

- ourlifemapped (10/5): 5 Star Service - From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed, staff were helpful, room ready early and easy unloading and parking setup. This was our first family holiday with our 4 month old and being easy as possible was our priority, the staff accommodated a relaxed and easy stay throughout. We started with Lunch, Dan and his team that covered lunch and breakfast for the duration of our stay were phenomenal. Both lunch and dinner teams went above and beyond to help us navigate holidaying with little one. The lady in charge of dinner service, I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name, your warm and kind nature didn’t go unnoticed and really helped us chill when little one wouldn’t settle during dinner on our first night. We have stayed at numerous 5 star hotels including The Ritz London and the level of attentiveness and service from every member of staff here was absolutely on par. The hotel is a little tired in places, and I can see why it’s a 4 star, but we left feeling special, thanks to the wonderful staff’s 5 star service. Family time in the pool from 9 - 10 and 3 - 4 was very lovely and very easy. Views from our room were beautiful. Room service was on time and kept lovely and hot. At this price point, I can’t fault the hotel. I just hope they can keep their staff on because they have got an incredible team there, from reception to restaurant to spa, and everyone behind the scenes thank you!
