- Lisa (8/5): Nice enough - The hotel is in a nice location. Could walk to the fish market and food truck court. Surf side but had to cross a large sand dune to get to the beach, which was difficult, especially if you were carrying anything to and from the beach. The nicest people work there. An older hotel but had been updated.
- GWENDOLYN (8/5): - The staff were very pleasant and the location was perfect. The thing that bothered me was the door seemed to need weatherstripping as I could see daylight around its frame. I know that is a silly thought.

The staff we met, Billy and Braedon, were very friendly and helpful and provided us with loads of information—guiding us to come back!! The other staff in the office were super friendly and helpful too. We are so glad life afforded us to come to Avon and stay at the Avon Motel!!

The room was clean and nicely decorated. Our one complaint was that the bed was not the best and was a little too soft, but honestly that wouldn't prevent us from staying here again. Highly recommend
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The staff was not very friendly/personable. Checking in and checking out never once said hello, how are you, or anything when entering the office. Just stared at you and Waited for you to talk and not really respond back. Didn’t ask for an ID or booking confirmation or anything when checking in just a name - not very secure check in process. Room had all types of bugs in it of all sizes. The bed felt and sounded like it was 25+ years old. There was a chair in the room that looks like it has survived multiple floods and should just be removed it’s so gross looking, feeling. Property is pretty noisey and doesn’t block a lot of noise from outside. They also over charged me than what my booking receipt shows. Room is worth maximum $45 a night.

Rooms were not in great shape and the steps you climb to get to room looked very old and unstable. Will not stay here again.

They still use an actual key, with the keychain that has your room number on it. So cute! It’s not your fanciest 5 star hotel. It’s quiet, charming, and exactly what i needed for a nights stay.

- Jaddah (2/5): - Bed bugs we were bitten all over our body blood was on the sheets from my boyfriends back being bitten. Said they would not charge us for the room we left early and did they did anyway now they are disputing the refund initiated by our bank. Horrible large roaches the biggest roaches either of us ever seen and the room smell like mildew we went and purchased lysol and a can off the automatic air freshener cans because the order was that bad. Paid $100 for what should have been $50 especially in the off season! I’m so sorry to have to say this since it’s not the hotel’s fault but wow, worst stay I’ve ever had and I travel a lot. Zero sleep on a turn the clock back night and off season where most local dining was closed. If you like night life ear damaging dancing and drinks rave style, would be the motel for you!

Also charged me twice for a one night stay and still waiting an answer from management for fix. Also charged more than what the total on the Expedia app stated. Would not recommend this motel.

Staff was very accommodating to mynlate arrival. Would love to stay here again.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Older, no-frills motel - This motel strikes me as one that the owners purchased at a discount and quickly and economically attempted to renovate on a shoe-string budget. The woman at the front desk was quite nice and friendly and provided a recommendation for dinner, which turned out to be great. In the room...the paint and flooring appears newer, but applied quickly (lots of paint platter and a bit sloppy). The furniture is worn and mismatched...full size bed/mattress appears quite dated and is not comfortable. We never could get the remote to communicate with the cable box, so no TV during our stay. This particular room has a separate bedroom with what appears to be a newer bed, so at least one member of your party will probably get a decent night's sleep. There is also a small coffee maker (no coffee was provided, however--just a packet containing sugar,napkin, and stir-stick). We did not use the coffee maker. There is also a small fridge, which worked well. Bathroom is spacious and the water was hot/decent pressure. Interestingly the toiletries provided were all by different manufacturers, and seemed somewhat random. The beach can be accessed through a short walk through the parking lot of the property and through a small section of cottages. Overall, this is an older, no-frills motel located within a short walk to the beach. If your expectations are low and you are really just looking for somewhere to stay the night, this might work well for you.
- sascha (10/5): - Well seasoned motel separated from the beach by the dunes. Perfect location for visiting. Motel is older and it shows but it doesn't take away from its charm. The desk attendants were quick and knowledgeable about the area. Parking is mixed concrete and gravel and a safe spot to be. A sanded patio area had a couple sets of inviting outdoor furniture.

It had fresh paint, a nice little fridge & great microwave. Our coffee pot was hot or miss but it was nice to walk across the street to ugly mugs. It was a short walk to the beach, nice path! We definitely will stay here again!

- Monica (4/5): Time to update the mattresses. - It's a cute clean location and pet friendly. I would not stay again is because the beds are awful. It's the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Prepare they will put a hold on your payment two days before your stay without telling you.

- Lillian (6/5): Drab chic - Fast contrast. There's a three quarter inch difference in the entry area to the living area. There were no tables except for the nightstand one between the two beds. And couch which I never said on however the beds were not all that comfortable. Big box springs. There were lots of broken or damaged things in the room. No curtains. The windows recovered with very cheap plastic lines. One had no blind and there was enough light coming in the windows that it was hard to sleep. All walls are painted. However the headboards were damaged in the beds were great and it was nice it won't let me upload the photos

I booked the room 2 months in advance at a great rate. I told her that i used expedia and she said i was kucky to even have a room??? I had to show her my confirmation on my phone. Just a poor attitude and pretty rude all around. Its sad, because i really really like this motel. Its a dive, but in a great location. Just be prepared when u check in.

I would recommend two things -1 a drop box for if you check out and office is closed!! 2 maybe paint one space parking number in front of each motel room and if extra space needed park in front of outdoor seating area, as I had a man yelling at me for parking in front of my room because it was too close to his car because he didn’t know how to park. As a female I didn’t want him to mess with car or continue yelling at me so I moved my car in front of outdoor seating area and walked to my room. I had to do this 3 of 4 nights. Marked spots would stop this. I would stay hear again!!
- Shirley (10/5): Avon love - We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious. The outside area has beautiful flowers and is an easy walk over the sand dune to the beach. There is a lovely, colorful outdoor sitting area, as well.

Heatpump a/c unit above bed had a strange built-in wood frame surround that only allowed the air to blow directly onto your face when sleeping in the bed. Good location and walking to the beach.

Lights outside of our room stayed on all night so that was a pain. We ended up hanging a towel over the blinds to help dim the light at night. I recommend bringing a fan and a sleep mask if you’re staying here.

The linens looked stained, a towel was completely yellowed. The pillow cases and sheets had stains. The pull out sofa bed linens were unusable they smelled so musty. The pillows were old and lumpy and the mattresses too soft. There were dead flies in our room on the floor and we killed a cockroach. It just felt gross and unclean. The shower curtain had mildew on the bottom. The location is amazing the pier is in walking distance and great for fishing. We saw a lot of people catching red drum. We basically came back to the hotel to sleep - and sometimes eat. I wouldn’t come back unless I knew that it was managed better with new mattresses, pillows and linens.
