- Leigh (9/5): The accommodation suited our requirements and were happy to adjust to suit our additional needs. - we were thankful the team were able to prepare breakfast half hour earlier over the weekend as we were staying to exhibit our charity at a local event which we had to be at before 8am. The breakfast was lovely and had a nice variety of choice. Some of my colleagues found their rooms rather warm and struggled to cool down, even with windows open. I believe this may have been due to radiators being left on to provide a warm inviting atmosphere but it was quite mild which didn't help.

Jazz music was good as was fruit and grains etc. Decoration and finish of our room was excellent, and the communal spaces too. Our booking form said we had a view from the room- we could see roofing tiles at close quarters and no more. Booking form stated said we would have a bidet - there wasn't one, not that we actually wanted one. Our particular bedroom roof was surrounded by valley gutters. The rain the night we stayed was heavy and the sound produced was very very loud. I would try glueing a sponge where one valley joins another. The drop was about 9 inches. I expect all other rooms have no such problem and we were unlucky.

The room was a treat- four poster bed, tea/coffee tray, fan heater/air conditioner, hairdryer, and a very smart bathroom with soft fluffy towels and a good shower. The breakfast was also very nice and tasty. Absolutely nothing!!

The Manor house itself is gorgeous, and the conservatory where we had breakfast is stunning. We stayed for one night in one of the bungalows by the pond, which was comfy and cosy. We sat outside by the pond until the sun went down, which was incredibly relaxing and calming. Breakfast was delicious with quite a choice, and the service was excellent. There is nothing to dislike, but if I had to complain at all, it would be about the lack of dairy-free margarine to spread on my toast at breakfast, that's all.

Didn't like that the reason we were staying was that we had been invited to a wedding locally and are not expecting to have a good enough reason to go back again! Shame.

Such a relaxing, quiet location This is NOT the venue's fault but work was being done on the driveway (utilities I believe) so had to get up before 7am to park my vehicle on the grass verge next to the road or I'd be unable to move it until work completed.. There was enough space to park 3 vehicles on the verge but 2 were parked with a lack of consideration of anyone else so I had to park on a bend literally touching the hedge to get it off the road.
- Philsatt (7/5): It would have been an excellent had we not been met with the problems I have highlighted. - Location was good with lovely views. Breakfast was the highlight of the stay. Room was comfortable and facilities were good. We chose this venue because it stated Check-in from13.00 and we intended to spend the afternoon chilling out in the room and the lovely garden after our long drive. However, the room wasn’t ready and we were told the return at 15.00 when our room would be ready. So we then had to drive into town which we really didn’t want to do. We were also told that we would have to park our car outside the main gate to the property because workmen were coming at 07.30 the following morning to carry out electrical work, which meant closing the driveway up to the house. I was not happy about leaving my car on a grass verge at the side of an unlit country road but I had no choice. Although the accommodation and food was good, we never felt relaxed due to the concern for our car overnight and we feel that some gesture of good will would have been welcome for the inconvenience we experienced. spend

We were greeted by Simon, the owner, when we arrived, who took time to chat to us & make us very welcome. Our room was on the top floor & had fantastic views over the fields. Our room was beautifully presented & had everything we needed, including a well stocked tea & coffee tray & water. Breakfast was first class. There was a good selection of cereal & fruit & a high quality, well presented cooked breakfast. The staff were friendly & nothing was too much trouble. There is plenty of spacious parking & the manor grounds are beautifully maintained. Our stay was all we could have asked for & good value for money. We will definitely stay here again. Nothing we didn’t like. All aspects of our stay were excellent.

- Stephanie (8/5): A lovely place to stay! - An absolutely beautiful, immaculate venue full of countryside charm. The room was large, quirky and very comfortable and our stay was so quiet and undisturbed! Breakfast was absolutely delicious. We had arrived wanting dinner in the restaurant but only breakfast is available so we had a lovely summer’s evening walk through the fields via public footpaths to the local pub which had a large beer garden and served delicious food. Our host was charming but if we hadn’t needed advice re where to eat, the only person we would have seen was the lady serving breakfast and self check out felt a little odd without the personal touch of saying goodbye. In these days of remote working and increasing digitalisation, the human touch would have made this stay a perfect one.

- Nuttall (9/5): Good relaxing couple of nights. - The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. Very peaceful and quite - may be quieter due to the road closure. The grounds provided several seating areas to go and relax. Tv in room was small for this day and age - but worked fine.

The location was convenient for us as a mid-point family reunion meeting place. There was ample parking space and the grounds are beautiful. I loved the exposed beams and the General 'vibe' of our accommodation. We had a bit of trouble accessing the location due to a road closure.

Bed was a little uncomfortable but all in all, excellent stay. Really simple well cooked breakfast with good quality ingredients. These guys have put time and effort into the simple things executed very well! Highly recommended! Who ever cooks in the kitchen, everything seared and cooked to perfection. Top quality fresh berries, they’ve spent money on the produce and il defo be back here!
