Guest Reviews
- Julie (10/5): Wonderful stay, would stay again! - The owner was extremely kind and hospitable. She brought me upset stomach medication to my room when I inquired about a nearby pharmacy to buy some. She was very attentive and caring. She delivered a breakfast tray every morning with a lot of good healthy food. The location was perfect right near all the shops and restaurants. This isn't really their fault but the walls are thin and you could hear absolutely everything from the nearby rooms even conversations at normal volume.
- Elly (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very helpful, kind and generous. Highly recommended!
- Josephine (10/5): 10/10 :) - We stayed at Beautiful House in April and our experience was a 10/10. I would recommend booking this Hanok stay if you come to Jeonju.
The location is right in the center of the old town. All sights are in close walking distance.
The room was clean and spacious - enough for 2 oversea luggages to fit in.
The sleeping mat was surprisingly comfortable.
Having a homemade breakfast (8 a.m) in the garden was a lovely experience. We even got fresh cut fruit, a luxury in South Korea 🥰🍓🍎
Make sure to bring some slippers as the bathroom is Korean style.
The Housekeeper was outstandingly friendly. We could store our luggages upon arrival and before we left the city. The lady even helped us book a taxi to the train station and made sure we got onto the right cab. Thank you so much!!!
For anyone coming to Jeonju with a luggage I can only recommend to take a cab (8.000-10.000 ₩) from the bus and the train station. The local busses do not fit bulky bags and you want to avoid walking all the way to the old town.
To conclude: Jeonju and the Beautiful House Hanok Stay is a must not miss experience! :) All good!!!
- Nabih.m (9/5): Great place to stay - Beautiful house in a central location and great owner. Nothing
- Jill (8/5): A traditional experience in a beautiful part of the world. - Location within the village and discount parking close by. Fabulous breakfast. Busy on weekend so a great vibe but quieter during the week Little access to relaxation space - compact room works well when with is fine which we had so we could sit outside our door to enjoy breakfast. Bedding is as hard and thank you for the extra pillows
- Mun (9/5): Superb - The location. Excellent communication with host. Very good breakfast. Helpful & Offered umbrella when raining & medication for wife's headache.
- Ingrid (9/5): Highly recommended - Very clean and convenient located It’s not a negative thing but we are not used to sleep on the floor 🥲
- Caroline (8/5): Nice Stay at a Hanok - The host was very nice and helpful. The location and breakfast were super.
- Giorgio (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house (indeed!) The room is small but that's part of the experience with traditional organisation and mattresses.
Very welcoming host and sweet place to walk around.
Simple and good breakfast with fresh ingredients.
- Charlène (10/5): Little house in hanok village - The place was very cute. We felt like in some sort of ancient house. Very good value for money. The breakfast simple but extremely good. Thin walls
- Chng (9/5): Superb - Owner is exceptionally nice. Provided us with good breakfast and helped us to book taxi to express bus terminal. Nil
- Thanyamas (9/5): It’s good place , convenient . - Quiet , clean host very kindness I need one blanket / person
- Pavreet (10/5): Beautiful Stay and Super Kind Host!! - Beautiful stay right in the Hanok Village. Easy to find and instructions were clear. The best part thought had to be the host, she was so kind and helpful. We had to leave early the next day and since we would have missed breakfast she brought us fruits and let us park our car closer. Just so thoughtful and kind. I would definitely stay again! NA
- Teow (9/5): Will stay there again in my next visit. - Good location for where we want to visit, very clean and the host is very friendly & helpful.
- Beatrice (10/5): Lovely hanok stay in the center of Jeonju. - The owner has been lovely with us since the moment we arrived at her hanok. The hanok is perfectly located in the center of Jeonju and everything is in walking distance from her place. The house is very well decorated and kept and the breakfast was too yummy. Thank you. Everything was perfect!
- Andy (8/5): Very good -
- Aina (10/5): Exceptional - I had to leave early last day so I missed breakfast. The owner was so nice and prepared a take-away breakfast for me the night before. She really takes care of everything!
- Erica (10/5): Perfect accommodation - Centrally located within the Hanok area, the accommodation is just perfect.
Very much appreciated breakfast and the owner is such a welcoming and nice person !
- Kylie (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (9/5): Lovely hanok experience in a great location - This is a great place to experience a traditional hanok stay. The owner was so lovely and helpful and brought us a delicious breakfast in the mornings. Location is fantastic, just off one of the main streets of the hanok village but nice and quiet at night. The traditional sleeping arrangements took a bit of getting used to, but by the second night we were more accustomed and comfortable. And after all, it’s the whole point of the hanok experience!
- Kavitha (10/5): Those who want to experience culture and tradition with little bit of modern touch , must visit - locality, ambience, hospitality , property all very good . Host was extremely supportive and very well service provided and friendly NA
- José (8/5): The Hanok experience you should try in Korea - - The space is small but enough for 2 people with big travel bags.
- The breakfast was amazing and served by 8am on our door.
- The mattress is very comfortable and you don't even feel that you're sleeping on the floor!
- The host is very kind. - I don't think 3 people would sleep comfortably in this room.
- The shower and toilet get wet easily.
- Matilde (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elia (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful stay! The welcome was perfect, the host was very friendly and kind. The breakfast served in the room was delicious. Excelent localization. It was a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend it!
- Valentina (9/5): Lovely traditional stay - The location was amazing, within the hanok village. The style of the building/room was very nice. The owner was friendly and very helpful. She also provided us with a delicious breakfast in the room every morning.
- Sarita (7/5): Good - You are staying in hanok so it's not the most comfortable. Room is small, bathroom even smaller . Not ideal for long stay, manageable for a overnight..it's right in the center of the hanok village so if that's the vibe you seek, this is fine It's not the most comfortable stay. Also very cramped
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francesca (9/5): Superb - Very nice host, great location, and awesome breakfast. Really nice Hanok experience.
- Lior (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tina (9/5): Great location, very kind host, and the room worked for us as a family with two small kids. -
- Anna (10/5): I really recommend this accommodation. - The owner was very friendly. I looooved the breakfast. -
- Jaclynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordi (6/5): Hanok Experience - Clean and quiet in the hearth of the Joenju Hanok village. The Korean style room is clean and has everything you need although the bathroom is really tiny and I personally only missed a terrace or a common place to stay.
Healthy breakfast served in the room plus tea and coffee facilities are ok.
The lady was helpful and kind and I appreciate.
- Hayley (8/5): Friendly staff and comfortable room - We were greeted by friendly staff and allowed to check-in a few minutes early as the room was ready, which we appreciated. The room was exceptionally clean and well presented. There were toiletries, towels and bottled water. We noticed the rooms seemed soundproofed as we only heard slight muffled voices in the evening. The outside space wasn’t as big as expected but there was plenty of interest outside around the property to keep our children entertained. We were served breakfast (2 adults, 2 children) on one plate, rather than separately which we would have preferred as it felt like we got less than we should have :/ we were a little hungry because of this. Overall a pleasant stay though!
- Elissa (9/5): A lovely host, lovely food and a good hanok experience. - The host was the most friendly lady ever! She helped us settle in, gave us recommendations and even gave us a snack.
She also made a lovely breakfast in the morning 😃
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Silvia (10/5): really a beautiful house and beautiful owner - the owner was super helpful. she called the car rental agency and helped us get a car. the breakfast was also super yummy and everything was clean and the location was great. would stay here again p nothing
- Francesco (10/5): Great experience - Location is great, right in the center of the hanok village.
Room was clean and comfortable.
The owner was awesome, she helped us with everything, she also speaks English.
The breakfast was good and plentiful.
- Misha (8/5): Small but comfortable room - Friendly & helpful owner
Lovely breakfast
Great location Traditional room but very small, good for one night
- Jina (9/5): I recommend this place 😊 - The owner is so lovely and friendly, she is very helpful. Also the place location, cleanness, and an amazing breakfast. I loved my stay. I recommend this place.
- Kok (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was awesome and the breakfast is the BEST ever.
- Inigo (8/5): Very good -
- Helene (9/5): Superb - Really nice stay in the heart of the folklorique village of jeonju.

The location was perfect !
The host was the most amazing, sincere and helpful & truly friendliest welcome.
The best ever brunch/breakfast, very healthy & delicious 😋
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality
It takes some adjustments but for a true experience, I highly recommend. Nothing
- Bryan (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome stay!
- Ruiz (10/5): Super well located - Beautiful House is a great place to stay, located in the best area ever, super easy to go anywhere. I was surprised by the breakfast, which was really delicious. Nana, the house guest, knows some English words and is really friendly and helpful. The only aspect I “didn’t like” was that the heat was super high. I woke up many times during the night sweating. Besides from that everything was perfect!
- Dominic (10/5): Exceptional - Our host was absolutely lovely and the place was super nice. Breakfast in the morning was a delight and so nice to have. Definitely lived up to the name. Thanks!
- Amy (8/5): Very good -
- Maximilian (10/5): Exceptional - It’s in the center and a great experience to stay at a traditional Hanuk. The owner is super kind and helpful. We had a marvelous stay, I can highly recommend it. Shower is in the toilet.
- Chen (10/5): Very nice, good host, tasty breakfast, easy to reach with bus or taxi. It was wonderful, we would like to stay again. - The host is very nice to us, the big breakfast was really impressive. It was a traditional room, we got everything we need. And he ground heating is the best, it healed us in the cold weather. No
- Lara (9/5): Superb - Excellent location! The owner is so very nice. The breakfast was delicious. The only issue was the thin walls. YES, it's a hanok stay, but people will be people and IGNORE the sign pleading to keep voices low after 2200 due to thin walls. Our neighbors completely disregarded this. Even when asked to keep it down, they continued to be loud and laugh till past midnight.
- Markus (10/5): A fantastic experience - My stay at this hanok was one of the best experiences I've had in Korea. The owner is very friendly, the provided amenities plentiful and the location is perfect. Everything is very clean.
The room was very cozy and comfortable. The property itself is so beautiful that I noticed tourists taking photos of the building.
WiFi is fast and the provided breakfast was absolutely delicious. I'm a lazy person, so waking up at 8 for breakfast was a bit annoying. The breakfast is delicious though, so worth waking up to.
- Engela (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely as always.
Great/best host!
- Zak (10/5): Amazing - Cozy and so Authentic Everything was perfect
- Bianchi (10/5): Amazing stay, amazing breakfast - The breakfast was absolutely amazing, and it was located in the center which made visitin jeonju really easy The beds are not the most comfortable, but you do get the full experience.
- Roberta (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Highly recommended! - Friendly staff, central location to Hanok Village, and surprisingly delicious breakfast in bed (B&B). Pillow was larger than normal but didn’t affect sleep. Ondol wasn’t turned on but didn’t need it after all. Room is small if you are not familiar with Hanok-style.
- Yk (8/5): Very good - Location is near to everything. Great experience for Hanok stay. Their standard room is a bit small for 2 pax.
- Mihai (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Beautiful place. Tasty, local breakfast. Great host!
- Muneer (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (10/5): Best place to stay in Jeonju. - We had the most amazing time in Beautiful House. The house is located in the middle of the Jeonju historical area, shrine, and surrounded by authentic bibimbap restaurants. This area is also incredible to walk through at night. The house is very quiet and had modern bathroom facilities. The host is incredible! She brings you a freshly made breakfast every morning, and is very accommodating. Highly recommend this for your stay in Jeonju. Please keep in mind that the bedding situation is a traditional Korean futon style. It's a lot thinner than modern beds and you will feel the difference. We personally did not mind for a few nights.
- Laura (9/5): We would choose again! - Beautiful traditional hanok located right in the middle of Jeonju’s Hanok village. It feels like a very authentic experience - obviously it’s not the best sleep of our life (we’re European used to Western style beds), but we chose the hanok to experience something different. The host is very helpful and kind.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudia (10/5): Wonderful Hanok experience - Great traditional room
Homemade Breakfast served in the room
Super nice and kind host
Strategic location
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Jea-woon (10/5): Exceptional - We, me, my Partner and our little baby, stayed at the beautiful House for two nights. We were welcomed by the really friendly staff/owner at the stay and were shown our room, which was so cozy. Even the house is located next to the street, it was quiet. Well, another reason might be that koreans respect the privacy and the silence in the public. The room is designed like a traditional korean room, which means you sleep on the floor on a futon matress and when it gets cokd, you can turn on the floor heater which is a traditional heating system in Korea, called Ondol. Our 7 month old daughter really enjoyed the stay coz she had lots of room to play and for us, we didnt have to worry that she might fell off of the bed during the night. But the main reason, why we liked this place a lot was, how welcomed we felt during our stay here. They organised some food for our little daughter in the evening when we couldnt find any fruit in the supermarket or they personally said goodbye to us when we left and organised a Taxi for us. I definally recommend the beautiful House to the other users and if we get any chance to visit Jeonju again, we will stay here with any hesitation!
Thank you, beautiful house staff /owner!
- Tomer (9/5): Superb - Location is amazing !
Lovely host, great brearkfast thats been adjusted to meet our dietary restrictions.
Great traditional hanok experience. The shower is different than usual. Checkout is a bit early (10am).
- Kim (9/5): Very - The breakfast was wonderful. So nice to have fruit and the crispy dumplings were the nicest we’ve ever had.
When she heard it was my partners birthday we were given some goodies to eat as a treat. Such a thoughtful touch which we appreciated. The location was an excellent place to explore from.
Communication was easy and quick. It was an extremely small room but that was really our choice and having now slept on an indolent in a hanok we won’t be doing it again. Maybe we’re too old and creaky!
- Dina (10/5): Exceptional - The location was PERFECT - right in the middle of the hannok village, although not noisy at all! The host was so nice and helpful - she gave us a map of the area, pointed out the main attractions, and even showed us where her favourite restaurants were. Before we arrived, I mentioned I was worried about sleeping in a hannok and whether I’d be comfortable so she organised an extra bedroll - it was 100% comfortable, no need to worry. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and delicious.
Would definitely recommend!
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful as the name says - The breakfast was really good and the owner went out of her way and beyond to make sure we and our infant daughter have a pleasant stay. Thank you so much, we had a great time.
- Bastian (9/5): Grat Hanok Experience - I really liked the stay, it gives you a nice Hanok experience in the heart of the Hanok village. We went there during Chuseok, which made it even better! The experience is definetly worth it
- Manuel (8/5): Very good - Good location; lovely host; everything is clean and tidy. Great experience overall. Definitely a bigger towel ;)
- Jona (10/5): Awesome Hanok Stay - The location is right in the heart of the town and the host is incredibly nice and thoughtful. The breakfast was exceptionally well - we can absolutely recommend it!
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, very nice host, well located
- Mrkwinto (10/5): Exceptional - wonderful and caring hosts, a real Hanok experience in the heart of a beautiful district
- Raquel (8/5): Very good - The owner is very friendly and helpful. The location is very good and the breakfast better
- Mirae (10/5): Best location ever. - Great location to walk around Hanok village . Great value for the money. Nice host. Very close from public parking. Room was a little bit small though
- Elizabeth (10/5): Friendly Hanok Stay - The owner was a very lovely lady who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We had to leave very early, and she made us a take-away breakfast box for our trip!
Plus the location is very central, close to lots of attractions in the Hanok Village.
- Lina (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (7/5): Good - It was really cool to discover a traditional hanok, the host was very nice! The room itself was wide enough to store our two suitcases. The bathroom was good.
The traditional mattress called 요 was quite thin, but I guess it's normal, even though we could feel the floor through it.
The breakfast was served to us in our room and was absolutely delicious. The air conditioner was extremely noisy, and we could not afford to shut it down, considering the weather; July in Jeonju is very hot and humid.
- Chin (10/5): Service that goes the extra mile - and much more! - We were looking for an experience of staying in a traditional Hanok house. This property did give us the experience we were looking for, with very thoughtful service!
My greatest compliment goes to the host. She was very mindful to make sure that we were comfortable and our needs were met. We have 3 young kids around, and she sure took note of that in preparing the breakfast. Breakfast was served on a plate everyday right at the doorstep, and she really took effort to arrange things in a way that was also feast for the eyes. Furthermore, she took the extra attention to change beverages when we provided the feedback we preferred tea over coffee. And when our kids expressed preference for a certain item, she made sure to provide them in abundance the last day we left.
We stayed for 3 nights and did some laundry in between. On noting that we were hanging our clothes to dry, she actually took them to dry (I assumed a dryer was used) and folded our clothes for us. When we hanged out super late (came back near 11pm) with a local friend, she sent a msg via booking.com to make sure that we were all right. She stayed till that hour, as she acknowledged our return through CCTV. We knew we were well taken care of.
If we were to return to the place, we would definitely hope to stay with Beautiful House again. Nothing.
- Seung (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): The real deal in the Hanok District! - This is a hanok in a hanok district! You are chosing to sleep on the floor on a traditional mattress! I LOVED it! The breakfasts were great (especially the day our hostess served sticky rice!). Our hostess was always available to help us navigate town and she was really kind.
If you want to be in the historic district....this is the real deal..... You are truly dead center. And if you want to get to the other parts of the city...no problem. Just a reminder....it didn't bother me, but if sleeping on a thin mattress on the floor isn't what you want to do, well, now you know! Also, This is a historical district, and tourists park in lots that ring the historic district (3 blocks away). You can still drop off your luggage on site, but off to the lot you go. The cost of the lots is around 5 US dollars a night after your hostess gives you a voucher. A little confusing at first, but you'll manage.
- Arwen (10/5): The host is sweet and the place is nice! We highly recommend it :) - The host was very nice, she welcomed us so nicely, she was very sweet she helped us with a map and gave us activities to do ! It was very clean and the place was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and more than enough to eat !
- Kathleen (10/5): Excellent place - The house is beautiful and the host is really nice. The room was comfortable, and so were the beds. It was our first time sleeping in a traditional korean house and we slept very well to our surprise. The breakfast was served in the room, and it was delicious both days. The hotel is in the traditional village so it's very convenient. We recommend this place, and we will book here again if we come back to Jeonju.
- Jessica (10/5): The stay was a great experience, and I really enjoyed it with my kids. - The house and room were super cute and clean. The private bathroom was a great bonus. You could hear the folks in the next room.
- Myung-jin (9/5): Superb - Amazing location. Friendly and helpful host.
- Maria (8/5): Very good - Location, and recommendations form the host
- Ilaria (9/5): Superb - Perfect location to experince the korean style house.
The owner is very kind and helpful.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (10/5): Very nice and helpful owner! - Very nice owner, she provided me with a map of tourist attractions, made me a delicious breakfast and also helped me get a taxi. Great location, traditional room, highly recommend!
- Shubhodeep (9/5): Superb -
- Anna-marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Przemyslaw (7/5): Nice place in the heart of Hanok Village - It's very nice traditional Korean house located in the heart of the Hanok Village. It's not even walking distance from the village - it is just inside the village.
The owner doesn't speak English, but we found a way to communicate :) Breakfast was small, but nice - if you like korean-style breakfast (please see attached picture). It's served to room. I don't think it's about this particular Hanok, but just sleeping on the futon bed is not something we liked. We felt as if we slept on a floor. Maybe we should have asked for additional futon mattress, to make it softer.
- Misbah (9/5): beautiful house is a comfortable house to stay and good location - We stay for 1 night only but surprisingly this place is very nice and comfortable. Beautiful house is indeed beautiful with kind owner. The house is small but yet comfortable. We took room for 4 person so its big for us only that it's a bit cold at night and the heater is a bit slow..but its still ok for us. We would like to apologies again to the owner as 1 of my friend accidently broke the vase outside the room and we pay for the broken vase. Thank you owner for the best hospitality
very good location coz it's inside the jeonju hanok village everything is ok, just an opinion
- the room is not sound proof, we can hear people talking from next room
- maybe the owner should put decoration that not made from glass or vase that easily broken. It is quite dangerous if the guest bring kids.
- for those who never try ondol style room, the comforter is thin and u might want to layer it with blanket.
overall its a very comfortable and enjoying 1 night stay.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Location was incredible. Easy to find. Right in the midst of the Hanock villiage and walkable distance to all major sights in Jeonju. Very clean and as comfortable as you get get when sleeping on the floor. Breakfast supplied was delicious.
We booked the family room for 3 adults and was a good size for us and our luggage.
Host was lovely, even assisted us with our taxi to the train station and waved us off.
Would absolutely stay again. You floor sleep for the experience and not for comfort 😂
- David (9/5): Superb - The host has been extremely kind and helpful.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was amazing. Only thing was the floor was solid and the mattress too thin. Would be better if there was more padding.
