Guest Reviews
- Bob (10/5): Welcoming, comfy, value - Friendly and efficient welcome, comfy room and a good breakfast choice. n/a
- Mark (9/5): - Hotel was very near Crewe train station which was an excellent location for me as i am a train spotter and could pop back and fourth several times a day. There where also people staying there who were joining the steam train charter from Crewe to Carlisle the following morning and staying there after the charter returned to Crewe late that night. Bedroom door rattled a bit if the window was open to let some air in.

- Mandy (8/5): Good place to stay - Convenient for event at the hotel Nothing not to like

- Jane Graham (8/5): The Waverley met our needs - good staff, good value and comfortable - The purpose of booking the Waverley Hotel was the close walking proximity to Crewe train station, to facilitate a 06:00 train journey on the Saturday morning and we had a late return time at midnight that day so we needed to stay 2 nights. We didn't book breakfast as this wasn't needed and so can't comment on this.
For the price, we got exactly what we needed. Our room accommadated 3 so the 2 of us had ample space. All areas of the hotel were very clean, furnishings are basic and lack lustre but this was not an issue for us. Archie on reception was excellent and most helpful in recommending somewhere to eat - Giovanni's Italian restaurant across the car park and the food was excellent. Accessibility to Crewe Station was perfect, less than a 10 minute walk.
So all in all this was a great place to stay for what we needed, good value and I would stay again. The very small hand basin in the bathroom.
- Leonora (4/5): - The staff were really friendly and helpful The first room smelled of smoke; I moved but the second smelled musty. There were hairs in the bathroom. The sheets were itchy. The inside of the wardrobe where the shoes go was broken. The door lock didn't work well so it was hard to get back into the room.
- andy (9/5): Brill wee hotel - Clean, bright, comfortable and very good value for money
Breakfast choice excellent and cooked fresh brilliant Leaving
- pc (8/5): For the price you couldn't ask for more. - Breakfast staff were brilliant. Breakfast was also spot on! There was a strange gurgling noise that woke me up ast 2:30am, and no it wasn't my stomach!

- Steve (6/5): Needs a lot of tlc, which is not reflected in the price - Location for our visit, good breakfast free onsite parking , staff very helpful and friendly Not sure if there is by law a minimum size for a room to be classed as a double, unfortunately I doubt there is, if there was this room would fall, been staying here periodically for 20 years or more it’s decor has not changed tolerable for 1 night because of the location, free onsite parking and breakfast and staff
- Jon (7/5): Great location for Crewe train station (5 minute walk) - Good team of staff. Great as a short stay Very basic
- Mike (8/5): -
- Butterfield (9/5): - Room Notjinknothink to complain about
- cummings (10/5): - Only used to sleep as needed time with my Nana

- Terry (7/5): A basic hotel with nice staff and a good breakfast, close to transport - Staff were helpful and allowed us to use a little dining table, plates and cutlery to eat our takeaway food, which we really appreciated. The hotel is a short walk from the station and the bus stop to Tarporley (our next destination), allowing us to easily arrive and leave with our suitcases. Our room was comfortable enough and had enough space for our luggage, with a nice view out the window. They gave me a nice bathmat when I asked for one. Yummy hot English breakfast with some fruit, yoghurt and cereals. The room was a bit cold, and by the time I asked staff about it, they said the heating wasn't on, but that they would turn it on for me. Unfortunately the heating never came on, but by then it was too late to do anything about it. I'm sure if I'd asked earlier they would have sorted it out for me. The hotel has an old time feel, and the bathroom in particular could do with updating. It would be nice not to have to ask for a bath mat, I thought this would be supplied to everyone.
- Kevin (10/5): - Lovely staff clean stopped 3 times will be back 😀

- alison (9/5): Homely and friendly - The staff were some of the best I have come across, helpful, cheerful and attentive. Although the property is very outdated it was very clean and comfortable. The Sunday lunch and the breakfast were excellent. The area was a bit run down and I couldn’t get the WiFi or a phone signal.
- Julia (9/5): Couple and a dog - Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious . They were really welcoming of us and our dog. It's a little dated, but still a lovely hotel.

- Amanda (6/5): Great location parking is excellent. Breakfast is very nice. I would’ve preferred Cumberland sausages but that’s a perso - Parking & location Shower needed updating and the furniture.
- Nikki (1/5): racism is tolerated here - the breakfast was ok food wise and the location was good for my needs. cant say much else given the racism experienced at breakfast. horrific in terms of their being a vile racist in the room and he was making racist dog whistles whilst pretending to be a patriot and pretending to be a Christian. Whilst this awful customer was spewing his racist rhetoric the staff did not intervene to reprimand him instead tolerating and legitimising his delusional racist state. Demonstrating exactly what is wrong with this country right now.
- david (8/5): -
- Alethea (9/5): Good location, parking and plenty to eat and drink nearby - Great location. Staff are friendly and it’s a quiet hotel. Stayed 3 times now.
- Hayley (6/5): - Lovely welcome from the lady at Reception, car park was great we parked right outside the door Although the room was clean it was very dated quite expensive I thought. The bed was rock hard but that’s just my personal preference.
- Susannah (6/5): - The bed was comfy and the staff were very accommodating
The breakfast was also good The shower door was literally hanging off
We were told there was free WiFi but our room didn't have it. Even though there was no one else in the hotel

- vincent (10/5): - 1 of the best hotels, I've ever stayed at, great staff, great breakfast, it might not be the most modern hotel, but it makes up for that, in its very welcoming, and homely atmosphere. Room was great, 1 of the best nights sleep I've had in a while. And for me a very important fact, no noise. Price very competitive. Highly recommended . Forgot, TV worked all channels. Fantastic Kettle element was a bit corroded. A larger TV would be good. Japan beat England, on the bight I stayed 😆 😂
- Jon (6/5): - Proximity to station and quiet.
Car parking was excellent. Mattress was hard and quite uncomfortable. Decor was a bit dated and tired looking in places.
For the price it was pretty good value.
- Anne (9/5): Convenient and friendly - Lovely staff. Very central location is to station and restaurants. Comfy beds and room. A bit noisy with other guests arriving.
- Adele (6/5): - Staff were lovely, Sunday dinner was excellent. Hotel was quiet no noise late at night. Room was very small and needed a revamp, good job it was only one night stay. Breakfast finished far too early for us to have.
- David (8/5): Very satisfactory and convenient to the Railway Station. - breakfast on Sunday Saturday night the hot water tap ran full bore and we could not manage to turn off the stop cock as it was low down and appeared crusted, it also needed a tool to operate it. I cannot understand why the problem occurred as we could not have instigated it. The lady alone on reception understood and eventually arrived wit a screwdriver and was able to isolate the hot tap. Unfortunately she inadvertently closed the stopcock to the cold tap as well. We were able to get some cold water from the shower and the toilet still flushed OK. We reported this and the staff asked about it at breakfast, I assume that it was sorted as we checked out after breakfast.

- hans (9/5): nice stay at a decent hotel at a great price - excellent location, close to lots of restaurants
- Michael (8/5): - A pleasant enough place and friendly staff The 2 clowns in the next room left the bathroom light on all night which means when it gets quiet you can hear the fan running when the TV goes off !
- Jefferson (6/5): - Convenient to station

- Alan Baird (7/5): -
- Chris (7/5): -
- Patrick (7/5): -
- Richard (7/5): Good hotel, poor breakfast. - Room was warm, dry and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and sufficient, although the shower cubicle was small. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast was poor, especially at £10 each. Most of it had been cooked in advance and kept warm, making the mushrooms rubbery and the hash browns tough.
