• Steve and Jacquelyn (10/5): Carriage House room - We were met by our host who gave us a tour of our room. The space was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable with a plethera amount of resturants nearby. I heard a train in the distance, but my husband and I quickly fell asleep about 9:pm and slept soundly until the next morning. My husband enjoyed a cup of coffee outside in the courtyard watching the sunrise.

I was met by the proprietor and shown around, and he graciously shared details of the home and answered any questions I had. The interior and exterior design showcases a loving attention to detail and obvious design expertise. Beautiful amenities in a peaceful environment. I will absolutely stay again.

I had to come to Louisiana at the last minute to check on my dad in the hospital and this nearby property offered me a place of respite in a very stressful time. I left very quickly from my house, and I didn’t have a toothbrush or deodorant. This place had everything I needed. It even had a refrigerator stocked with drinks, water, and some snacks. Moreover, the room is large and there’s plenty of space for me to do my work and get organized while still trying to see about my father at the hospital. Very grateful for this place and it is excellent. It is reasonably price and it is a value. The staff is amazing and even gave me a ride to the hospital, which almost made me cry.

Everything we needed you provided. I loved sitting in the back garden each morning sipping my Keurig Community Coffee listening to the birds and being still. It is evident that you have the gift of hospitality and I’m so happy we got to experience it in action. You are right where you need to be- you make people feel like welcome guests - giving them a place to unplug from the ‘rush’ of life. Thank you. The only thing I did not like about our time here was having to leave on Sunday morning. You will not be sorry if you stay at the John Thomas in Monroe.

• Molly (10/5): Wonderful Stay - We stayed at the John Thomas house over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful inside and out and is very well decorated. It was a block away from town and we were sent to multiple places to try and go eat and shop. We will definitely be staying again.

Outside was a small patio with chairs and a table. JT’s has, for me, a New Orleans vibe, with its brick walkway to the back, light fixtures inside. Only a short walk to Antique Alley, where I spent some time browsing and enjoying a couple of pastry shops. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
