• Jenny (10/5): Weary souls’ retreat - I’ve called this the title I have as at the time, my partner and I had been burning the candle but anyone who is lucky enough to come here is in for a treat. Our apartment was spotless, cosy and within grounds that make you feel like you’re on a private holiday. The garden and pool were beautiful and Chris and Jane couldn’t do more to make you feel welcome - taken great care to do up some elements and it really shows. A fantastic and treasured stay - we shall be going back as soon as possible. Anyone who finds fault needs to just stay at home!

• Cao Thi My (9/5): Comfortable stay - Our apartment is spacious, tidy, and well-equipped. The host was very kind to buy us some bread on our last day and thoughtfully leave it at the door. But if I may offer an honest suggestion, it would be more nice to do this on the first or second day of our stay – because we wouldn't have any reason to worry about wasting it, it was the last day and we were busy leaving and didn't have time to enjoy it. At the first night I discovered a dead, mangled spider on my pillow, which scared me a little. Also, the hairdryer was difficult to use because it was so dusty inside; my husband had to spend some time cleaning it so he could dry my hair. The location is a little hard to find because the villa's name isn't clearly shown. The pool would be great if it were heated, but we understand why it’s not, so it’s ok .

• Fi Di Leo (9/5): Cosy and comfortable home by the sea - The location was ideal. Very close to Shanklin Old Village and all the amenities and attractions. Beach was 15 minute walk or could go via Shanklin Chine. Town is also around 15 minutes walk or a few minutes driving. The owners were friendly, helpful and accomodating and ensured there was a warm welcome (as well as the lovely pastries and bread as we left). Although the property is relatively small overall, the bedroom is a good size with a massive bed. The kitchen is well-appointed. It's ideal for one or two people, who plan to spend more time out than in the accomodation. This is a great property, so these are observations, not criticisms. The seating area was smaller than expected, but it was comfortable. The property is within the building complex, so doesn't have a view. We also had to draw the door curtain to ensure privacy from other guests walking by who'd look through the window. The audio on the TV in the lounge area wasn't great.
• Teara (10/5): Fabulous self contained villas, in a great location and lovely hosts. - We booked a 3-night stay in The Burrow, just my husband and me, and from the moment we arrived we knew we’d chosen well. We were able to check in early, the host greeted us warmly, and the room itself was perfect — cosy, spotless, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need. There was even fresh milk waiting in the fridge, which was such a lovely touch. The Burrow has its own little private outdoor area, and right opposite the front door is the utility room, its shelves lined with DVDs. It may sound old-school, but there’s something wonderfully nostalgic about picking a film and watching it without the endless on-demand scrolling we’re all used to. It felt like a mini digital detox in the best way. There’s an onsite pool, which we happily made use of, and BBQ facilities too — we’ll be trying those on our next visit. The villas are in a fantastic location, within easy walking distance of Shanklin Chine, local pubs, and even a live music venue, which adds to the charm of the area. During our stay the hosts surprised us with complementary locally made bread (delicious!) and cake — such thoughtful gestures that really made it feel special. This is a wonderful place to stay if you enjoy having your own self-contained space with all the comforts you could want. We’ll definitely be back. Nothing, it was a perfect stay.

Great location, we’d have loved to have stayed longer. Fabulous walks from the door and a fantastic host who was very easy to communicate with, accommodating to our needs, and left us to it. Toller Pool. Das Inserat versprach 150 m zum Meer, was dann so nicht stimmte. Zu Fuss durch die Chine dauerte es doch 15 Minuten.

From the very start, they were so supportive and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and felt completely at home. The sweetest surprise was the cake they gave for my friend on her birthday — such a thoughtful gesture that truly touched our hearts and made the trip extra special. Their home is beautiful, spotless, and so well cared for. The pool was an absolute highlight — clean, inviting, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We also loved the BBQ setup; it made our hangout so cozy and memorable. This was more than just a place to stay — it felt like we were truly welcomed and cared for every step of the way. We left with full hearts and so many happy memories. We can’t recommend this place enough and would love to come back one day!
• Fiona (10/5): Cosy, comfortable and perfectly located in a peaceful area with a regular bus service - Our accommodation (the Burrow) was clean, cosy and tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed for our 1 x week's stay. We chose a ground floor apartment which was easily accessible due to our mobility issues. I loved that it had a tiny outdoor seating area for two which was attached to our apartment and nicely secluded. The bed was HUGE and extremely comfortable. It also divided as twin beds if that was a preference. I loved the heated outdoor pool and the garden area which was well secured and secluded. The communal utility room not only contained washing machines and dryers, but also an abundance of books, board games and dvds - a thoughtful provision to facilitate those rare rainy days! We chose Luccombe Villa Holiday Apartments because of the location. Not only is Shanklin a beautiful village, but the location needed to be on a bus route as we do not drive. The accommodation is about a 3 x minute walk to the bus stop, and the bus (No. 3) is one of the most frequent services which covers the east of the island and into Newport (centre of the island). This certainly made getting around the island really easy. After long days spent exploring we really looked forward to returning to our apartment content in the knowledge that we could feel relaxed and comfortable in our cosy 'home'! Both Chris and Kate were exceptional hosts: welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Their hospitality contributed to our already perfect holiday experience! I cannot fault our stay in any way.

Apartment had very good kitchen facilities, good quality furniture and comfortable beds. The Pool is in the garden and kept in good condition, with sun beds and table and chairs provided as well. Slightly steep stairs to the top apartments, lighting inside was good but additional outside lighting towards the back entrance would be helpful at night. Recycling area could be better.

We had a flat on the top floor in a nice and quiet area of the apartments. The flat was very well equipped, it seemed they had thought of everything we could need. the bed was comfortable and Chris and Kate could not be nicer or more welcoming! Chris even delivered bread and pastries on our first day, a lovely touch. Special mention goes to the lovely heated swimming pool in its own pretty, leafy and secluded part of the grounds, perfect! Nothing! We loved everything!

Loved the swimming pool too which was also very clean and well looked after. The hosts were very kind and friendly and we would 100% recommend staying and would love to return one day.

• Graham (8/5): Very pleasant, good location - Very well equipped kitchen, very clean and tidy in the apartment. No easy visible notices directing you to the owners part of the complex. We did not get the name of the apartment so did not know where to park on arrival.

The pillows were not comfy, the lighting was poor, thd bathroom was small,the loo was too near thd wsll had to sit at an angle on the loo. There was no bath mat and the bath towels were too small did not wrap around body. We were disappointed Ted on the second .morning to be woken at 6.45 am, men outside bedroom window talking znd making a noise, thought domeo e was trying to break in. Realised it was builders, they then climbed very noisily on the scaffolding and started work on the property exterior and were hammering away. This happened on the next morning too,we had no information from the host that this was going to happen. There is a Landlord Disrepair law that work should not commence until 8 am...this was disregarded, so will not book to go there again.

• Rhian (10/5): Great family half term trip - The apartment had everything we needed for a family with two small children, including a travel cot, and space for the kids to play. My four year old loved the pool and we liked that we could park right outside to easily head out on day trips. The beach nearby is lovely, and everything we wanted to do as a family was a short drive away.

• Shona (10/5): Very comfortable stay - Clean, comfortable apartment, well equipped. Hosts went out of their way to greet us even though we arrived late thanks to amended ferry schedules and made the effort to give us some food to tide us over as we hadn't had dinner. Will definitely be back.

• Matthew (8/5): Comfortable stay - Chris, the new owner, was friendly and welcoming. The apartment has a nice spacious lounge to relax in and beds were comfortable. Location was good for the local beach. For some reason the owner took some time to respond to messages, but then sorted issues out promptly. Just some small issues to sort. We had to find extra pots for cooking and the ensuite bathroom door didn't close properly. We couldn't get the TV to work. Sadly the pool is only open and heated in summer.

• Ben (10/5): Exceptional - The building is lovely, there are good laundry facilities and the room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. The location is fantastic, shops/pubs are literally around the corner and the beach is a short and pleasant walk. The welcome was friendly and we were given lots of information about the area. The hosts are highly professional and I think they've absolutely nailed the phrase "attention to detail", our stay was faultless. Checkout time of 11am would be nice but honestly, I'm splitting hairs, I wouldn't hesitate to book again if I was staying in Shanklin.

• Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Our apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The owners, who live on the site, were friendly and very helpful. The location is perfect. It's walking distance from the beach and the old village, with shops, a cafe and pub/restaurants close by. We are keen to return. As it's an old building, there were creaks in the floorboards and the doors. The outside pool was a bit too cold for me, though relaxing on the loungers was lovely and very peaceful.

• Younes (10/5): Amazing Villa in Shanklin - Second time staying at Luccombe Villa and just as wonderful and ideally located as I remember. The hosts are super kimd and accomodating. The apartments are furnished to a high standard and every comfort is provided. I would absolutely recommend. NA

Hosts are friendly and really helpful, quick to respond. You can also have a great bbq and enjoy the pool. The pool also has some equipments.

The apartment was smaller than expected but we booked late so can’t complain. Next time we’ll book in further advance to get bigger accommodation.

• Wendy (9/5): Going back tomorrow,all issues resolved by lovely hosts. - Breakfast not given ,it was self catering The only thing was the amount of steps and stairs to get to apartment.we were probably 3 stories high at the end ,nd steps were high in the risers for elderly people ,as we are.But younger fitter people would cope better..

• Frances (10/5): City break in England with pool & weather temperatures of Canaries Islands - We loved having a pool, free parking easy access to Shanklin Village plus great walks with friends who live on the island. Amenity room with honest box to wash our clothes. Leaflets with info on things to do & visit on Island plus DVDs if you wanted to chill & stay in Nothing comes to light.
