Guest Reviews
- Liz (10/5): Peaceful farm stay in a lovely home - Secluded farmhouse made for the most peaceful stay. Lovely old home equipped with everything you need for a relaxing time away. Breakfast supplies very appreciated and a thoughtful touch Nothing!
- Staples (6/5): It was handy to where we needed to be for the weekend - Idyllic setting. Comfortable and pleasant house. Breakfast food was good - nice eggs and bacon. Vey expensive accommodation per night. Had to clean the fridge drawers of spilled food and remove a dead mouse in the trap in the kitchen. Shower very difficult to adjust, needing to waste so much water before the temp was right
- Tania (10/5): Step back in time and away from the world. - The breakfast spread was fantastic. Loved the off-grid aspect -- really helps you to see that it can be done. Loved the original, rustic, 1920s charm and decor. Shower pressure was great and water was hot. Perfect. Not much, really. Stove area was a bit dark, but we just set up a camping torch next to the stove when cooking. It just adds to the ambience.
- Petrina (8/5): Excy - All excellent Larger logs to be able to keep fire going through the night
- lorraine (5/5): - Very nice but not the cleanest Very good
- Suzanne (2/5): Very disappointed - Beautiful spot Promised 2 bathrooms not true very unhappy!!!! Mice in the sugar sticks cup, towels very old, mattresses uncomfortable, 1 champagne glass, not enough breakfast for 4 people 2 days
- Pea (10/5): Blissful - Location, cleanliness and it was cosy N/A
- Phebian (9/5): we really enjoyed the peace and tranquility - Breakfast was a problem. There wasn't enough of everything for four days (eg butter)> Perhaps we should have asked for more or perhaps the hosts should have checked on usage. The only thing that could have been better is shutting up the screeching cockatoos
- Alison (8/5): Rustic tranquil escape - Relaxing, rustic and beautiful surrounding.
Ideally escape from a busy lifestyle
- Andrea (8/5): It was nice and relaxing when we were there. The kids enjoyed the animals and going for walks. - It was nice sitting outside and we liked that it was remote. It has a lot of history. The main bed is really uncomfortable.
- Naomi (8/5): Very good -
- Talia (10/5): Beautiful farmhouse - It was a beautiful large old farmhouse situated in the most peaceful environment, the views were amazing which could be enjoyed on a deck around the house.marg was very easy and quick to communicate with and provided us with everything we needed,we appreciated the bacon and eggs and extras.the farm house was just a short drive to the cascades and Turpin falls.if your looking for somewhere to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle and wanted to relax surrounded by farm life and quiet this is definitely worth the stay. would definitely be suitable for families aswell.also very nice garden setting with plenty of space to explore.
- Lyn (10/5): Lovely and clean, great garden for our grandchildren to play in. Happy to stay again. - Somewhat inadequate quantity of breakfast provisions for 5 guests for 3 nights. Cereal adequate & 1 litre of milk but only 6 eggs provided. The quality of provisions was excellent.
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Amazing location, natural surroundings, environmentally friendly, historically interesting. Lovely welcoming people.
- Susan (8/5): Perfect two days. Relaxing. Would love to come back for a longer stay. - Very roomy and comfortable old farm house. Cows and kangaroos. Slow combustion stove and electric blanket in main bedroom. Off grid - Solar power, bottled gas, tank water. Eggs and bacon, cereal and bread provided. Books, games. Dog friendly. Was very cold until we got the fire going.

- Mei (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (7/5): Good - Location was sensational, middle of no where, views of rolling hills, animals all over the place, could safely leave the doors unlocked It was cold really cold and it takes quite awhile for an open fire to generate enough heat to heat the one room, the gas heater near the kitchen really didn't do alot in regards to heating the house.
- Lynn (9/5): A lovely country retreat - Beautiful scenery
- Karen (10/5): A wonderful homely property, great walks and fantastic views! We love staying here! - Idyllic countryside property with wonderful views and complete home comforts! N/A

- Lyndal (8/5): Loved the cottage and the beautiful location, very peaceful. - The location is very beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is charming with lovely Art Deco features. Sitting in the verandah was so relaxing with the sound of the birds, the morning sun lovely and warm. Within easy reach of surrounding towns. I am very used to a microwave so found that a bit difficult, became used to boiling the kettle on the stove. I know power is solar sI a bit limiting re appliances.
- Paul (9/5): Ah the serenity, a trip back in time & akin to a visit to Nan & Pop's place when times were simpler! - Perfect location and could've stayed a lot lot longer!, awoke to the soft warbles of magpies and able to spy mobs of kangaroos in the early morning and at dusk. We enjoyed the freedom to walk the property and check out (from a respectful distance) the inhabitant 'black angus' stock as they casually grazed. All good :)
- Ricardo (10/5): Peaceful relaxing place of stay. - Breakfast provisions were of high quality diverse selection of eggs' bacon , milk and cereal was provided. Great location , with beautiful surroundings. The farm house ,kitchen, verandah and lookout points were magnificent. Truly a comfortable stay with everything provided our whippet just loved to free roam around the house enclosure . Look forward to tell our friends of this gem and will surely return sometime soon. couldn't be better just right!
- William (10/5): all that we hoped for - peaceful, secluded
- Pam (4/5): Rustic farmhouse in beautiful countryside - beautiful surroundings and wildlife
Provisions for breakfast and snacks available
loved the old farmhouse kitchen and the veranda in the afternoons
the sound of frogs at night and the flocks cockatoo’s flying in the afternoon the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows poor quality. the shower was difficult to regulate the temperature. running super hot then cold next second. my sons dust allergy was triggered, layers of dust on things. I had an uncanny feeling of being watched in the house particularly in the front room. there was no way to lock any doors for security. a little creepy.
- Bushra (6/5): Quiet stayover good for total disconnection from bustling city life. - The host were prompt in communication and allowed us early check in and late check-out which is kind of them. There is no cooling system at the property apart from fans which is not sufficient for very hot summer days. We had a toddler with us and didn't want to take any risk so had to return to our base of Melbourne for 1 day+night out of 4 paid day+night which is a shame.
- Steven (8/5): Very good -
- Graeme (10/5): Relaxed, Refreshed & Recharged - Charming original 1930s farmhouse - the whole house
Absolute peace & isolation, away from signs of civilization
All modern convenience items to keep you comfortable
The properties views are to die for
Lots to see & do within a short distance
The region is full of surprises
Charming host Thanks Marg.
ps loved the brekkie supplies
- Pamela (8/5): Very good -
- Liz (10/5): wonderful home in a remote and beautiful location - Large farm house located on a stunning property. We loved having dinner on the porch overlooking the beautiful landscape. House had everything we needed and the host was exceptional and replied to queries very quickly. will definitely be booking here again!
- Nishi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (9/5): Country life and living . Happy days. - Bread , cereal Bacon ,eggs, chocolate 2 days worth fantastic. Location great close to many attractions.
Wife and i loved it . 2 loads of wood for the evening. Great views and so quite in the night. Thanks Marg. Nothing could live there tomorrow.
- Erwin (9/5): Superb - The surrounding and serenity of the place. None.
- Casey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mario (8/5): Very good - the period charm of it throughout.
fireplace was also nice no heating in bedroom
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Beautiful views & off-grid. Great place if you're looking to get away from it all (very limited phone service) & even though our trip was a girls weekend, the property was well set up for families. Comfy beds. Marg was quick to respond to any queries. Despite no microwave, there's a good range of cookwear & utensils for the oven and stove.
- Judy (8/5): Kinross, kinship n kangaroos. - We liked its country feel and having separate rooms and breakfast etc. the gardens and animals, the wood for the fire, the friendliness. We liked its casual sense of home and the interesting bits and pieces. Thank you for the treats and the fresh, fresh eggs. Mary felt cold and objected to the door being off the loungeroom. She chose a single bed and initially felt uncomfortable but slept really well on night 2 and 3.
I wondered whether an electric jug might be better than a kettle on the gas. Isn't it very expensive???
We found a young joey caught in a fence. It was very distressed, as was its mum. It did manage to get away before we could get our tools out or ring you.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Wilma (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): - A captivating location immersed in nature, with an elevated front verandah to soak it all in
- Deb (10/5): - The house was lovely and homey and I really enjoyed the wood fire and gorgeous views!
- Pauline (10/5): - Loved the views especially whilst sitting on the large verandah and the peacefulness
- Sarah (10/5): Sensational - This ya the nicest little cottage. Property is beautiful. House very quaint and comfortable. I can’t wait to come back again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Secluded Get Away Location - Perfect location to leave the city behind and spend time with good friends having a natter on the deck overlooking the farm. Secluded but with the reassurance of the owners nearby if anything was needed.
Perfect for those with dogs, plenty of room to run around, and a fence around the house site.
- Martin (10/5): Farm escape - If you want a farmhouse stay away from the world, this place is great. Comfortable accommodation, paddocks to wander through and a friendly owner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice little farmhouse with a really homy flair. The air is fresh and it smells like flowers because of the cherry blossoms.
We really both enjoyed our stay. The house has everything you need to live in there. And the peace and quiet atmosphere makes it a perfect escape.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable property in an old farm house, great rural location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the old farmhouse, the serenity and the rolling hills. Big trees and lots of birds. Really comfy beds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - a delight. Gorgeous setting. Thanks. Good feel property with lots of love in it.
- Jason (10/5): - This Property is really beautiful. The owners were wonderful bringing supplies for breakfast.
I would highly recommend this property.
- Kath (10/5): - We appreciated the lovely outlook and fantastic wood fire, which our hosts had kindly lit for us before we arrived.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Farm stay - We loved staying here! The fire had been lit, Marg was flexible and easy going, the house was a classic farm house, comfortable, clean, cute with everything we needed. There were games for the kids and cue kangaroos. Perfect!
- FIONA (10/5): Farmhouse fun - Quirky little farmhouse with welcoming hosts, big wooden fireplace and generous breakfast provisions. Not your standard hotel by any means - and our little dog was welcome too. Spotlessly clean and well stocked with board games and puzzles for a family stay.
- April (10/5): Stunning, cosy, sweet - Stayed here with my friends and our 3 dogs in February, place was absolutely amazing, just spectacular views, we had the cows come up to the fence line in the morning which was lovely. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay that extra special, they really thought of everything. and I just loved reading about all the history of the farm that they kindly left on the coffee table. I would definitely stay again and hopefully longer next time. A+++ cosy and sweet
- B W (8/5): Comfy quiet with a few little surprises nearby - Nice comfortable quiet house in a rural setting. Hosts provided all food for breakfast and left us to quiet enjoyment which was great. Took an opportunity to walk around the property which was enjoyable with a bit of local wildlife, mostly bird life. Nearby Turpin Falls and The Cascades were beautiful little gems and a complete surprise. It is a little isolated (no wifi) but that is its attraction.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Overnight Stay - The house was very private and in the middle of some beautiful country side. The breakfast basket provided was a really convenient perk and we all had eggs and bacon on the veranda the next morning. The house is a good size with a large communal area and plenary of kitchen space to accommodate everyone.
Thanks again for a lovely stay.
