- Paul (6/5): - My stay was initially great but the night security supervisor was very rude to me at the main entrance gate. He made a lots of assumption and he may need further training in customer care, diversity and respect for all without prejudice. He refused to provide his name. However, I raised my concerns at reception at about midday. !

Backup power is always there and Food is not bad, also stayed here as quarantine during Covid the experience has been consistent.
- Ousseynou (2/5): - I always try to not let emotions get on the way when i write these reviews. Quitely, I'm only giving this hotel a 1 star because Wikipedia doesn't allow for a worst rating. The things i have experienced and lived in this hotel are down to laziness and pure mediocrity and it's totally unacceptable for a hotel charging over 80 dollars(for the room i booked). Needless to say i don't recommend them to anyone. Here is the list: 1.Checkin was super slow beause the reception was closed and the receptionist sleeping when i arrived 2.The water in the room was so red, smelly and unclean that I had to go buy water from outside to brush my teeth 3.The phone in my room was not working and so it was impossible to reach reception to report issues or reach the restaurant to order food 4. Internet either doesn't work or is too slow to be useful when it works. I had to miss important zoom meetings with my colleagues because of this 5. They say they have a gym but in reality the gym is not functional and so it's simply a lie to say they have a gym 6. Horrible breakfast: not enough food varieties and the food is not fresh 7.They got me change room at some point. In the middle of my shower, I saw a baby snake near the bathroom tube. Thanks God, i kept my composure and avoided any potential injury than panicking could have led to 8. The proPerty in general is old and smelly and so it was unsurprising that in the few days I stayed, I didn't meet any other guests around.

- Paul (10/5): - I really appreciate the above and beyond service of the staff at Family Kingdom. My flight on Kenya Airways was delayed but the hotel staff person waited patiently at SeaCoach Aberdeen Bridge to pick me up. Great and friendly service at a reasonable price.
- E1833VEcharlesl (10/5): Love this place so far, heading back in March - I stayed at Family Kingdom in January 2024 after a colleague recommended it. It was wonderful. It is family-run, clean and safe. The restaurant is good, the service is excellent, and the breakfast is good. The grounds are spacious and clean, with a delightful quirkiness. (Ceramic birds in a giant cage? Check! Statue of King Kong and Fay Wray? Check! Mysterious stuffed American turkey? Check!) There are also some gentle birds and a deer that wander the grounds, contributing to the general sense of peacefulness and contentment. Two thumbs up.

- Nancy (10/5): Accommodating and great - Family Kingdom was excellent for me. I had to change my booking because of delayed flight and they accommodated me. They also picked me up at the SeaCoach. Great breakfast. Loved the room on the third floor with a balcony. Room spacious and clean. All my needs plus were met. Pool could have been cleaner but it is rainy season. Nice stay friendly people.

- VERA MARIA (2/5): - The only good thing was the AC. Avoid the villas, poor manteinance or lack of care. The facilities were disgusting. We found coakrages and geckoes in our rooms, holes in the nets filled with paper, unsealed doors and windows that would make insects welcoming. The linen was dirty and and rotten. The breakfast was poor. The positive were 2 people from the staff, Alima from the reception and Kadija the lady that took care of the towels and linen, she was friendly and very nice. The Villa 1 was a nightmare, avoid avoid avoid.

The rooms are overpriced and smell really bad, the cooking area looks unsafe and the tubs omg so gross, with rust and other gooey stuff on them and in them, the design of the room feels like in an asylum from a movie and they smell odd and of mold and cigarettes , and the reviews here are fake you can tell they repeat them too much. The pool is dirty, so is the area, the staff was really unwelcoming. The only nice thing they have is the animals on the territory the rest awful. Avoid at all cost!

- IfedayoOdeniyi (8/5): Home Away From Home - It is a resort that has a very good ambiance. It is neat and serene. Clean room and big too with mini kitchenette. Breakfast is good though not elaborate but with good choices to make from. There is free wifi in the room and entire resort. Laundry service is complimentary. The staff are friendly and go far and above to meet our needs.The resort has a swimming pool and a gym. There is a play ground for the children It was a family trip and we really had a nice stay.

- ShashankaSaadi (8/5): A real family place - I have stayed in this resort for more than two weeks. It was one of the most pleasant stay in any resort. Located on the Lumley beach area of western Freetown, the resort is full of greenery. The buildings are mostly one and two stories. Rooms are spacious, with a small kitchen corner where you will find a micro oven, a small freezer, some plates, glass and other utensils. The resort has gym and swimming pool facility. The gym has two instructors to help you to chose right kind of exercises. Swimming pool is small. You will find barbecues facilities around the pool, a mini bar and shower. The break fast is really good with many varieties of fruits, bread, cheese free, tea, juices. The place of the breakfast is well decorated, followed a design of natural hut. The staffs are really good, always smile back and proactive to give help. The rooms have daily laundry facility which is included in the room rent. It has on restaurant - Papaiya. They provide wifi, sometimes the speed is very slow due to local service providers. One of the owner of the resort stays in the resort who is a senior Lebanese, looks like Italian actor. Staffs at the reception and office are also very helpful.
- butterflygal2021 (10/5): Great location and services - The resort is in a fantastic location, minutes to the beach and the facilities are great. Everything you need is there, food, drinks, a pool and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful to the needs of guests. They will do whatever they can to meet requests and I never felt unsafe or worried in the resort. The breakfast is included which is nice, especially if you;re on a budget and has a variety of options like fruit, eggs and pastries. The wifi works very well, which can be unusual in a place like Freetown. And the animals around, such as little rabbits, make the place unique and fun, I was very happy there. I was supposed to stay for just one month and decided to spend my entire time there because I was so pleased with the service. I stayed for four months and will go back again the next time I make my way to Freetown.
- ishikaay (10/5): Good reception - It was that time when I needed to relax, but still wanted to capture the best of the beach life in Freetown. At The family Kingdom, you are not only introduced to the comfort of living seconds away from the vast Atlantic ocean and its sandy beach, the Kingdom offers you a bit of an experience of Sierra Leone’s natur and wild life. The environment is very safe and the accomondation is of a high standard. The morning breakfast will get you stuck on your seat for a while as you keep eating from a variety of offer. When you want to talk with the staff, they will be up to your request at all times. And the door to the top management was open throughout my stay. Call them up for your next visit.
- LisaM8065 (10/5): Comfortable rooms for long stays - We stayed one week at this hotel and the rooms are very comfortable with a small kitchen allowing us to snack at any time our own food. Laundry service is included and the staff are very friendly. I surely advise this hotel just in front of Lumley beach, a great place for a walk at the end of the day.

- 892wafak (8/5): Home away from home - Simple and basic in terms of rooms but you feel well taken care of. Everyone is ready to go out of their way to make your stay in freetown enjoyable and easy. Management readily available to provide advice on everything, from what transportation means to use to what the best beaches to go to. We felt well taken care off. What else can one ask for when visiting a country for the first time.
- 816kylek (2/5): Terrible. Worst possible experience. - This “hotel” is the pits. It may be centrally located at the northern end of Lumley Beach, but that’s where the good parts start and end. Do not expect a Western standard accomodation. It’s just another grotty Sierra Leonean establishment like all the others, but you pay Western prices. Showers don’t work; flyscreens have holes (letting in the mozzies); and worst of all, the security staff work actively with local scammers to rip you off... and the owner doesn’t care. Avoid this place at all costs.

Rooms in Plaza block are very nice and with kitchen. Free WiFi provided is of average quality. Hotel owner is nice person and very much helpful.
- 638jasmins (10/5): It is so professional and the staff are great with the kids - This is a very family oriented place and they have safe secure rides with highly trained staff they have games and good food also you can come in the early day and go back when the sun goes down its a great place.
- HPBeek (8/5): Excellent rooms and super breakfast - I stayed at the Family Kingdom for a week on a business trip to Freetown. The rooms are very - very - spacious and comfortable. Breakfast at the outdoor area, shaded from the rains, is excellent: good choice of fruits, pastries, bread, eggs and pancakes and excellent freshly brewed coffee. Right across from Lumley beach which is filthy but still offers a great setting for early morning walks / jogging along the Lumley beach road.
- katyd702 (8/5): Friendly beach-front resort - We enjoyed several days at the Family Kingdom Resort in Freetown. It is right on the beach in the upscale Aberdeen neighborhood. We were warmly welcomed by Managing Director Mr. H.A. Jawad and his family, and their pet antelopes. Our rooms were large and comfortable and included a small kitchen and sitting area. The staff was friendly and the food was good. There is a large childrens' playground and a pool. Room and campus security are good. The hotel is close to the Freetown airport ferry.
