Guest Reviews
- Sheryl Courtney (10/5): - We absolutely loved the setting, the room was so clean and fresh, the bed was very comfortable, the bedding was warm and pillows had both options, firm or soft to choose from. You had to be careful on the outside steps to access the fridge which was in an outside cupboard. There was only parking in the harbour parking 100 yards away, so if it was busy it would be difficult to find a space, or if the weather was bad, the car would be at risk close to the sea wall
- Harriet (8/5): - Design and overall feel was lovely. Private and quiet. Lovely touches to the room such as freshly made scones and linen bath robes. Host was very welcoming and check-in was smooth. It got very light in the morning so woke up very early - blackout blinds or curtains would be an amazing addition!
- Nastassia (10/5): -
- Guest (10/5): A fantastic base to explore Cornwall from! - The perfect location to explore Mousehole and the surrounding areas.
Tracey met us on arrival to show us the room which was immaculate. The homemade cream tea, as well as the bottled water and milk is a lovely personal touch. We had dinner at The Ship and drinks at the Old Coastguard which are both highly recommended. Thank you for a lovely stay Nothing, it was lovely.
- Helen (9/5): - Superb breakfast - Bircher muesli option such a treat!
Everything comfortable, sparkling clean and bright in our room.
Haven't stayed in Mousehole before, though other places nearby, and it was a real treat. Toilet and shower down the stairs meant less easy availability of water to rinse one's hands or refill the kettle etc - a minor nuisance.
Outside steps to access the accommodation were a bit tricky for us older folks - though to be fair, help was available with luggage, and in any case it's in the nature of properties in your lovely village.
- Helene Bendorff (10/5): Wonderful stay in Mousehole - It was a lovely room and house, situated in the middle of Mousehole and very convenient for exploring the town. Such a kind and welcoming host. The room could have been more sound proof - you could hear what other people in the building were doing.
- Guest (10/5): - Beautiful property in immaculate condition
Great location
Owners very welcoming and lovely touches in the accommodation Nothing, it was a perfect break away
- Tracey (9/5): Perfect for a relaxing break - We had a lovely stay at the Old Pilchard Works. The place is spotlessly clean. Tracey is a lovely host and very helpful. There was homemade scones on arrival and everyday there is fresh milk and filtered water in the fridge. Mousehole is the perfect place for a relaxing break with good shops and restaurants. We also had use of the garden, which was lovely for a morning coffee. We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on it. Both accommodation and Mousehole were perfect. Couldn't find any negatives.
- Sarah (10/5): Perfection in Mousehole - Great room, huge bed, coffee machine, cream tea on arrival, shower gel and shampoo provided, lovely garden to relax in and Tracy is the perfect host! Nothing!
- Laura (9/5): 9,5 sobre 10 - Un b&b familiar, bonito, limpio, alegre, en un pueblecito auténtico y tranquilo. La dueña, encantadora. Buen desayuno, sobre todo si se toma en el jardín.
- Ales Cizek (10/5): Our stay was extremely enjoyable and we will definitely return. - We had a fantastic stay at the Old Pilchard Works. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The location was great. Everything was perfect. No complaints whatsoever.
- Michael (10/5): Nothing beats the Old Pilchard Works - Tracy is amazing
Breakfast in the garden is the best start to a day
The best shower I have ever been under We should have stayed longer
- Jane (10/5): -
- Herven (10/5): Really hope to be able to return one day - Gorgeous room with a glimpse of the sea. Beautiful small garden where we had our breakfasts.
Very helpful and friendly host who always tried to give us the privacy as well as taking care of us. Loved it all!
- Cassian (10/5): A spotless, welcoming stay in a beautiful location – we’d happily return and highly recommend it. - The property was exceptionally clean, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was great value for money, especially considering the time of year. The location was also perfect for exploring Mousehole and the surrounding area. It’s a shame we didn’t get a chance to try the continental breakfast but Tracey offered to cook for us
- Adrian (9/5): Lovely place to stay , nice room and facilities 👍 - Lovely place to stay .great location . Nothing
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, comfortable and well appointed room. Beautiful spot and Tracey couldn't have been more welcoming. Highly recommended.
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts very communicative, beautiful garden, ipad provided in room with info, super clean
- Pxll (9/5): Idyllic - Great location in Mousehole near the harbour, all local restaurants just a short stroll away. Tracey was very kind and helpful, and gave us a little treat on arrival which was delicious. The room is spacious and recently renovated. All very clean. Comfy matrass. The window gives onto the garden and the first sound you hear in the morning is the birds singing outside. We had one of our best sleeps since months. Will book again if back to the area. Highly recommended. Parking in Mousehole can be painful, especially in high season. To be honest, the noise insulation from the rest of the house is not perfect, you can hear other people's noises. But it's also because otherwise everything is so idyllic and silent! :-) Still highly recommended.
- Sebastian (10/5): A beautiful place to stay in Mousehole - Excellent location, modern decor and fittings, brilliant service. Not much really.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prue (10/5): A lovely place to stay in Mousehole - We were welcomed by a Cornish Cream Tea… thank you! Our room was Comfortable , clean, light and big enough. No views but a handy spot. We enjoyed dinner at both pubs and exploring the walking around there.
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect Christmassy weekend - Delicious breakfast and comfortable bed, perfect location and lovely host.
- George (9/5): Comfy digs in the heart of Mousehole! - Our suite was very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Location is great — close to the harbour, restaurants and amenities and accessible to the beautiful coastal trail. Our host was welcoming and friendly and provided us with advice about places to eat. Beautiful old stone building that's been updated to a high standard. Would happily stay here again! Only a couple of caveats which are in no way the fault of our host. Access to our room was up a flight of stairs on the outside of the building and also a staircase on the inside so just be aware of you have any mobility issues or very heavy suitcases. Also, Mousehole always a challenge with a car! Streets are very narrow and parking is off-site in a public lot.
- Fletcher (10/5): Lovely place, lovely people - The room was lovely and clean with coffee and tea supplies restocked daily, and some delicious scones when we arrived.
- Annabel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - After looking at places to stay in Mousehole, I deliberately booked my stay around The Old Pilchard Works’ availability because it looked so good. The rooms were so well thought-out and so pleasant to stay in. Breakfast was great as well. Loved the shower, loved the bed and the personal touches. Would definitely stay here again.
- Joshua (10/5): This picturesque accommodation is centrally located, has great views, and an even better host! - This was the perfect place for my wife and I to spend a few days in Cornwall. Tracey was a phenomenal host and made the best breakfasts and mid day snacks. She honestly made our stay here so memorable. The Old Pilchard Works is centrally located in Mousehole, walking distance from all of the shops, restaurants, pubs, and walking trails the village has to offer. We stayed in the Garrett Room, and it was spacious and spotless. We had a wonderful view of both the ocean and the garden area. We would highly recommend this accommodation (and Mousehole) if you find yourself in the Cornwall area! Nothing, everything was perfect!
- Gillian (10/5): Fabulous! - Spotless, with excellent facilities and delicious breakfast - extremely comfortable, stylish and a joy to be in. The green lit-up emergency exit sign is very bright at night, meaning the room was quite light for sleeping, but not a major issue.
- Robert (10/5): Top stay in Househole! - Everything! One of the best stays we’ve have for a long time. Tracey was great, greeting us with fresh scones, clotted cream and information about the village. Fresh milk for tea in the fridge, always a winning touch for me. Highly recommended. Absolutely nothing!
- Karen (10/5): Would definitely recommend. - Quirky building, with lovely decorated room.
Pretty garden.
Lots of thoughtful touches, toiletries, quiet fan, super King sized bed. Cream tea & biscuits.
Attentive host.
Amazing breakfast. N/A
- Constantine (10/5): ovely place, well located, very warm welcoming and accommodating owners. All excellent - Everything, lovely place, well located, very warm welcoming and accommodating owners. All excellent Nothing
- Jacqueline (10/5): Amazing location, amazing rooms! - The location was amazing, right in the heart of picturesque Mousehole. We were greeted with freshly baked scones, cream, and jam from Tracey with filtered water and milk replenished daily. The rooms were spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The rooms had everything you could need with a nespresso machine at hand. There is nothing I could critisise, everything was perfect!
- Graeme (10/5): Excellent Stay - We had a wonderful stay. The room, the location, the breakfast, and Tracey's hosting were all exceptional. Nothing!
- John (10/5): Wonderful place in Mousehole! - Tracey was such a wonderful host - helpful, friendly and engaged - and the garden room was perfect. The breakfasts are amazing, brought on a tray ymto my room or the garden - and Mousehole is an amazing location.
- Stevens (10/5): A great location with lots of places to eat and drink withing walking distance. - Having, the breakfast delivered to the bottom of the stairs to the room was unusual but was great, plus the breakfasts were great. The distance from our car parking to the house was just a short walk. It was a struggle to find parking on arrival, but after trying a few signposted car parks a last vacant space was found.
- Njj (10/5): Superb. Thank you - Very lovely room
Great tea coffee and delicious scones
Lovely host Nothing
- Charlotte (9/5): Lovely stay - Lovely breakfast. Nice little secluded garden. Lovely light room with views from 3 Windows. Great to have a table and chairs in the room. And right in the center of Mousehole
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the accommodation gave the feeling of luxury. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed large and extremely comfortable. The towels were thick and new and spelt amazing. Tracey, our host, was very friendly, personable and helpful. We were in the centre of Mousehole, which is a characterful village with incredibly good restaurants which compare very favourably with those we like in The Cotswolds and London. Nothing.
- Daniel (10/5): Highly recommended! You must stay here - Such a lovely stay in Mousehole. Tracey was a fantastic host and really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. She was on hand for advice and made a lovely breakfast for us in her garden. The room was really clean and lovely comfy bed. Highly recommended! Thanks Tracey :) Nothing to dislike
- Andrea (10/5): Excellent - Excellent host and amenities. The location is very idyllic and there is enough to do, taste and relax. We will certainly be back. We liked everything :)
- Janet (10/5): Would definitely return! - The breakfast was the best I have ever had in a b & b, it was lovely. Nothing, everything was perfect!
- Michael (10/5): A wonderful place to stay in the centre of Mousehole. - It was very comfortable and warm. Lovely seating area and comfortable bed. Also great shower downstairs.
Tracey was a wonderful host and gave delicious breakfasts both mornings delivered to our room.
The scones and cream when we arrived was a lovely touch.
- Michael (9/5): Charming B&B in lovely Cornish village - The rooms were very nice and clean. Our hostess, Tracey was very charming and helpful in fulfilling our needs. The breakfast wasn't fancy, but sufficient for my wife and I. It was a bit inconvenient having bathroom on a different level than the bedroom.
The roads in Mousehole are extremely narrow, making driving a challenge
- Cal001 (10/5): Totally loved our visit and would be more than happy to stay again. - Everything was wonderful and the room was spotless. We loved our stay, Tracey was an excellent host and the breakfasts were exceptional. The room was quiet and the bed was lovely and comfortable. The only thing that could be an improvement would be having the fridge inside the room, but it was no biggie.
- Lauren (10/5): Had a lovely time in Mousehole which is so pretty. - The property was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated.
The host Tracey was really friendly and helpful.
- Simon (10/5): A wonderful place to stay with an extremely helpful and kind owner. We will definitely come back again. - Beautifully decorated and great position.

- Lester (9/5): Superb -
- Rosemary (10/5): A great place to stay in Mousehole - We liked everything! It was a beautiful room with great facilities. Tracey, our host, was lovely and could not have been more helpful. She even sorted our parking problem when the public car park closed for a carnival. Breakfasts were delicious, and beautifully presented. Nothing was too much trouble. If there had to be a 'dislike' it would be manoeuvring the car around tiny roads! But this is to be expected in pretty Cornish villages like Mousehole.
- Steve (10/5): Fantastic short stay in Mousehole! - The setting...Miusehole.....is just amazing. Such a picturesque place....surely one of the prettiest in Cornwall.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Great breakfast....the fresh fruit was SO tasty.
Faultless all round. An excellent place to stay. Nothing....there is nothing not to like.
- Swain (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely spotless, exceptional breakfast, welcoming and hospitable owner. It was a garret room so had a sloping ceiling, but we knew this in advance. The seagulls were noisy, but we were in a fishing village, so to be expected.
- Anonymous (10/5): A first class place to stay in Mousehole. 100% recommended. - The entire property was just immaculate and sterile
clean with excellent amenities.
It’s location was very central to Mouseholes harbour, pub and restaurants.
The host (Tracey) was extremely helpful and went out of her way to ensure our stay was great and the breakfasts were first class in quality and presentation. There was nothing I would find fault with.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and wonderful host
- Bruce (10/5): Very enjoyable - The caring owners who want their guests to have a really good holiday. The crockery, cutlery and toiletries are all to a high standard.
