Guest Reviews
- Michelle (10/5): Fantastic place to stay if your travelling with or without a dog - Such a tranquil place! Spotlessly clean, a large room with everything you could need ie TV, fridge, coffee maker and kettle. We chose to walk over to the on site restaurant for breakfast and I have to say it was the best cooked breakfast we’ve ever had - amazing local ingredients cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious and at no further charge as it was included in the price of the room. The main thing that we loved was how accommodating Elysian Fields was to our dog Frank. We were made to feel truly at home. There’s so much more to this B&B with the onsite restaurant and camping facilities… incredibly good value for money.
We drove out to Newlyn, 20 minutes away and had some incredible seafood including crab, scallops & muscles. We will definitely be visiting Elysian Fields again to go back to Newlyn. There’s not anything not to like!
- THUSHANI (8/5): The stay was lovely. Room was clean and staff are very friendly. - Very friendly staff and good location. More space for parking It has to improve to have the breakfast with hot breakfast menu.
- Luke (9/5): Exactly what we wanted x - Room was clean and a good size, bed comfy lots of extra touches. Great location bus stop 5 mins walk and nice pub 10 mins walk. Chloe was lovely, explained everything we needed to know even sent us the times for the buses. Thank you x
- Akash (8/5): Good place and a good host. - Great place - quiet, cosy and comfortable. Good for families. Ukrainian flag in the lobby. Good host. Breakfast quite limited.
- Roberts (8/5): - The setting abd breakfast we're good. The room we were in only had a roof light, which we couldn't open for natural ventilation. The bathroom had a dividing glass panel floor to ceiling, but we don't really want to see each other on the wc.
- eva (9/5): -
- John (10/5): - Will be making further visits to the B&B next year Nothing further to add
- Debbie (9/5): Jackie and Tony made us feel very welcome and we're perfect hosts. The b&b was clean and tidy - The location was great for getting around, not far to travel to any places on south Cornwall coast . Also Tonys tavern on site which served good meals.. B&B continental breakfast had plenty of choice and a few good pubs nearby Can't think of anything we didn't like
- tom (9/5): -
- Razvan (10/5): Amazing hospitality: lovely people, fresh food and clean property. Best holiday place for our family. Thank you - Very clean. N/A

- Vivek (9/5): A comfortable and peaceful base for exploring Southwest Cornwall - This is a clean, comfortable and peaceful B&B that is well located for exploring Southwest Cornwall. There is a campsite at the same location and it is handy to have access to the facilities - for example the play area and the laundry. There is plenty of (free) parking as well which is very welcome compared to Town Centre locations. The owners are friendly and enthusiastic, and their passion for running this place shows. A note for anyone using Waze: stay on the main road and give your destination as “Tony’s Tavern” to avoid being taken down a path past the adjacent garden centre. Breakfast is a reasonable spread with plenty of sweet options. Some more savoury items and salad/vegetables would be handy. At this price point I might expect the option of a cooked breakfast - at least some eggs- but this didn’t detract from my positive experience of staying here. I’ll have no hesitation in staying here again as and when I return to this part of the world.
- Deepak (10/5): Brilliant - Breakfast could be bettered with some savoury items. Nonetheless Breakfast was good. Na
- Yuliana (10/5): -
- Clarke (9/5): Stay at Elysian Fields - Bedroom was lovely and clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom lovely and clean. The room itself was aired and didn't feel too or too cold. Rooms were tidied everyday and great value for money.
Enjoyed a drink or two at Tony's Tavern. Unfortunately didn't eat there but the food looked really good. The breakfast was ok. I only had the toast and tea. The Continental breakfast was not as I recognised as a Continental breakfast. Strange mixture and I didn't like the relaxing music made you feel u had to be quiet while eating your breakfast.
- Mariana (9/5): -
- Alwyn (9/5): Hidden wonder - Great place to venture around cornwall.
Very friendly, could not do enough for you.
Well worth another visit. You will need to have a vehicle to get around
but that could be said of most places in cornwall if your venturing.
- Milen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Bennett (10/5): A very enjoyable stay with friendly and conscientious hosts going the extra mile to make their guests feel home from hom - The Hosts were very welcoming and despite being extremely busy with their Christmas celebrations promptly received us on arrival at check in. The room was immaculately clean and bright with complimentary fresh coffee and confectionery. The private gardens to the property are vast allowing us to walk our pets first thing everyday which is a must for our dogs. The breakfast was sensational with fresh bread, croissants, cereals , yogurts and filter coffee. The Parking is off road and secure with plenty of available spaces. All in all an enjoyable experience and we intend to book for 2025 when we next visit. Nothing
- Mary (10/5): Fantastic B and B. - Great location and splendid b and b with many things for guests to enjoy.
Everything is in very good order. Lots of attention to detail. We had a very relaxing time and after a wonderful breakfast, enjoyed exploring the fantastic location. Leaving and having a tight schedule so couldn't spend more time with our host!
- Philippa (8/5): Well run place with camp site facilities too. - Lovely B and B with a camp site and "tavern" selling excellent meals. Located half way between Lizard and Landss End. Nice room with all sorts of electronic luxuries that I wasn't interested in. (TV incorporated in bed, coloured light displays on ceiling). I did appreciate the fridge and heated towel rail. Pub in village was nice too. There's a laundry in the campsite which could be useful. The breakfast dining room is nice and had a useful supply of maps. I am travelling by public transport and I did establish that buses go past fairly frequently beforehand. The A road has fast traffic and no pavement, and is really dangerous to walk along. There is a footpath behind the fields to the nearest village but I only discovered that AFTER I arrived.
- Orina (9/5): Fantastic!! - Very clean
Passionate and lovely staff Nothing really
- Babar (10/5): Very nicely decorated - Nice and clean None
- Rachael (10/5): very relaxed and comfortable stay. - Spacious, clean and friendly staff. Nothing negative to comment.

- Yearn (9/5): Great location for our weekend, to see surrounding places. - Loved the large room and bathroom
- Maxine (10/5): Would stay there again, relaxed comfortable and welcoming - The accomodation very tasteful decor, Amazing friendly staff who went out their way to ensure your needs were met and you had what you needed. The breakfast was very good, with variety of different selections everyday. It’s location suited us very well for what we wished to see.. There was a bar /pub serving food next door for cooked breakfast or a meal in the evening. Despite this the bed n breakfast was quiet and peaceful. Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast There was nothing we didn’t like about this place
- Armand (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (9/5): A very enjoyable 2 night stay in good location for site seeing spotlessly clean and friendly staff - A very good selection for a continental breakfast None
- Janet (10/5): We have been several times and each time is excellent. - Everything was excellent.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - the owners ensure that your stay is unforgettable - great selection of breakfast cereals and meat selection, jams and sweat treats. The cleanliness and quality of the rooms are beyond my expectation, the owner also gave me a surprise in the room for my birthday which these days are rare -so my thanks to them all, on site is a wonderful tavern - clubhouse that has a great atmosphere and great food at very reasonable prices. a great bolt hole here especially to visit the far western parts of cornwall. nothing at all -all was perfect
- Olha (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at Elysian Fields B&B was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The property itself is stunning, with beautifully maintained gardens .
The room was immaculate, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, providing all the amenities we could possibly need. We were particularly impressed by the attention to detail, from the luxurious linens to the thoughtful touches like complimentary snacks and beverages.
The location was ideal, offering a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to attractions and activities. The hosts were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and provided excellent recommendations for dining and sightseeing.
In summary, our stay at Elysian Fields B&B exceeded all our expectations. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing and luxurious getaway. We can't wait to return!
- Donna (9/5): Friendly, clean, good location - Very clean, very friendly staff. Good location for exploring that part of Cornwall.
- Lauren (9/5): Everything we hoped for - Very clean accommodation:) spotless!
Quiet at night so we got decent rest.
Easy check in and out Black out blinds/curtains but only because this is our preference
- Trudy (10/5): Wonderful accommodation, lovely hosts and definetily will return! - It was unusual (Continental, meats, cheese, cake, pastries, and cereals). From previous feedback, we knew there was no hot or cooked breakfast, but they did have an on-site cafe for their campsite.
*Suggestion: Allowing guests to eat a cooked breakfast as an alternative.
**Please can you respond - What shampoo & conditioner do you provide in your welcome gift bundle, please, as my hair was phenomenal!** Nothing.
- Mary (5/5): Expensive for continental breakfast and double bed but lovely and quiet in country. - Very quiet in a little village called Ashton 25minute drive to Penzance.
B and B built in front of camping site and Pods and has a number of diverse businesses running from the site. The cost was expensive for a couple, we paid £545.00 for 3 nights. Breakfast was only continental with one morning of fresh fruit which was appreciated. The bedroom was let down with furnishings. There was no xx where to sit and apply make up / or fix hair for such a large room. The local pub food was tasteless frozen meals would not recommend.
- Jayl24 (9/5): Beautiful B&B - Location perfect , very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and spacious room. Would have been nice to have a proper chair in the room, the shower head was very small so showering took longer than necessary.
- Christin (10/5): Would definitely stay here again. - One of the best places that we have stayed at.
Very nice host.
We had a spacious lovely family room that had everything you could ask for.
Room came with coffeemashine, fridge, view to the lovely garden, a basket full of goodies.
The garden ist lovely to sit it.
The breakfast room ist marvelous and it had one of the best continental breakfast during our travels through Cornwall.
Parking spots right in front of the house.
THis place also offers a campervan site.
It is not too far from the villiage with good pub food. Nothing.
- Chris (10/5): A wonderful oasis! - Breakfast was great! I liked everything!
- Angela (9/5): Great B &B - The room was really large, with lots of lovely extras. Everything is thought of. Mini fridge, coffee machine, even an alexa. The host is a lovely, friendly lady. Makes you feel very at home. The bed was a little hard for my preference. Would have liked a cooked breakfast.
- Irina (9/5): Loved it - Very clean and cosy room, with everything we needed, for a family of three. Small little touches that made the whole difference. Great property, Tony's Tavern here, that provides food throughout the day, when staying in. Great location, within minutes of St Michael's Mount and many others, to enjoy the best of the Cornish experience.
- Gillian (9/5): Amazing with lovely staff a and room - All staff were so friendly. Lovely house and walks. Could not have asked for more.
- Sukhdev (8/5): Very clean and comfortable accommodation. - Second single bed was too small. Standard single bed would have been more acceptable.
- Sue (7/5): Good - Should offer cooked choices. Continental breakfast quite basic . Full English breakfast could be offered .
- Kenneth (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (10/5): Warm welcoming nothing was to much trouble - Everything from the standards of the room,
cleanliness, food and location. Cannot fault it . Nothing to dislike
- Peter (10/5): Top notch. -
- Zedbea (10/5): Best B&B ever! - As a coeliac the fact that not only was a range of gluten free food available at breakfast (continental) but also that they had a special toaster just for gluten free use to stop cross contamination. That attention to detail sums up the friendly and professional atmosphere of Elysian B&B. You are welcomed and nothing is too much trouble. A wonderful stay and will definitely go back. Nothing apart from the weather, which no one has any control over !
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laimonas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roisin (9/5): Superb - very welcoming host. Excellent property. Everything for breakfast. Great coffee Upstairs room with skylights only, no window. Would suit some people
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Jeroen (10/5): They clearly know how to run a B+B. Perfect in the details too. - They clearly know how to run a B+B. Perfect in the details too.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The friendly staff with a lovely sense of hospitality and warmth.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jjjota (9/5): Overall very good B&B, close to main road in good location. - Good technology, arrival chocolates & a basket available with his and hers dressing gowns and slippers. Fresh milk put in mini fridge with tea and coffee pots all complimentary.
Tony’s Tavern on site, good beers on tap with large TV covering sports. Would have preferred cooked breakfast rather than continental option.
Only liquid soap available which was placed in shower cubicle, maybe this would be better by the wash basin & a block of soap made available for the shower.
- Pawel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Della (10/5): A perfect place to stay for a Cornish holiday! - it was beautifully styled, clean and quiet. The owner went above and beyond in her attention to detail in the rooms and in the dining room. Top class tea and coffee provision with extra treats, and a very full buffet for breakfast. The best BnB I have ever stayed in. nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely place - Nice and quiet Wasn’t something which I didn’t like all good
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Good location.
- Brian (6/5): If room had a window with a view, the score would have been different . Would stay again but not in room 4. Tony’s tav - Very clean, location Only two small skylight windows, no view, they have spent a lot of money on this room but still dark. No English Breakfast.
- Lynn (10/5): Friendly hosts who care about what they do. I am looking forward to rebooking for next year. - Warm hosts, flawless rooms, spotless and breakfast was lovely. Nothing. I honestly can not fault any aspect.
- Scott (10/5): We would thoroughly recommend staying here, excellent accommodation. - The cleanest place we have stayed.
Supplies in the room were excellent.
Room cleaned daily. n/a
- Cheryl (10/5): Excellent holiday break. - Our room was large with a comfortable bed and large screen tv. Tea, coffee, bath robes and slippers provided.
The breakfast was continental with a very good variety of choices.
We particularly liked the fresh seaside vibe of the breakfast room and quiet sitting area with loads of reading books.
Tony’s tavern outside was a great addition and was nice to have a drink in at the end of the day. We had a good meal of scampi and chips when we arrived. Everywhere was well kept and very clean.
The hosts and staff are lovely and friendly and would recommend this place to stay. Nothing.
- Olga (10/5): Nice stay, good value for the money. - Clean and quiet property! Nice people and good service. All good
- Arran (10/5): Wonderful location, wonderful staff, wonderful place, I wholeheartedly recommend! - Dog friendly in a great location. Staff were wonderful with a great breakfast spread on too. The few rooms available meant that it felt very special. You to be social with the other guests at breakfast if you wanted to be. Being picky, the shower pressure was a touch weaker than at home.
- Janet (10/5): Perfect - Everything was excellent
- Jillian (10/5): Lovely bnb. Lovely staff. - Atmosphere, breakfast, chocolates and friendly N/A
- Micky (8/5): Very good - Location central for visiting local sights.
Accommodation clean and comfortable.bar/food available on site.
Nice camping site attached All good really...the only thing we thought was missing was a little more attentiveness at breakfast times.we saw no-one. ....nothing was checked to see if anything heeded replenishing.......we even left without seeing anyone ......
- Peter (10/5): A delightful stay - Breakfast was good for a continental, a wide variety of options
- Davina (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Beautiful place to stay, very clean and comfortable lots of special touches. We were a group 15 staying in the main house and camping area. Fantastic place for family reunions, plenty of space for children and catching up in Tony’s Tavern Nothing to dislike
- Ray (9/5): Beautiful, modern & spacious dog friendly BnB - A fantastic stay, really friendly staff, top notch facilities. The room was really modern and well fitted out. The restaurant on site gave easy options for a beer/food and the location was perfect for Helston or Penzance/Marazion or Falmouth. The camp site to the rear gave lots of dog friendly exercise space and looks fine for campers. The only thing which stopped this being a perfect B&B was the lack of a cooked breakfast option. The continental style was varied, quite adequate - but it's just not bacon is it?
- Christopher (9/5): Friendly, comfortable & enjoyable. - Excellent location for many of the local beaches & attractions, nice atmosphere at the b&b all staff very friendly & relaxed, lovely room & the grounds are very nice too.
- Susan (10/5): Wonderful property and facilities in an ideal position to visit many places around Cornwall. - The appearance on arrival was delightful. The outside garden area was immaculate and even had three life size statues of a stag and two deer on the front lawn area. The room was very clean and decorated to a very high standard with lovely extras such as dressing gowns and slippers and some of their personalised toiletries. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They also have a very large area for camping at the back and a pub/restaurant on site. Plenty of space to sit out in the garden. The continental breakfast choice was incredible with masses of choice. A very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this B&B and would definitely go there again. We could not think of anything that we didn’t like about the property.
- Anthony (10/5): we had a really nice time in Cornwall and I would stay here again many thanks - The property is clean in excellent condition and quite spacious The property have ensuite rooms which are excellent, and also has a outside bar and the dining area for breakfast very nice and staff very polite and helpful
- Monika (9/5): It was nice n clean B&B. Nice bar n quiet place to stay. - Breakfast was good 👍🏻. The area is good near to visit praa beach. St Ives n lands end. I love location and I will visit again ❤️ Bed mattress springs can feel, making noise when sleeping.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room, spotlessly clean.
Warm and friendly welcome. Great food too. The only negative was it's sited on a busy road. Noise isn't an issue but leaving was a little interesting if the other road users were, shall we say, a little bit quick for the road.
- Nichola (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Jackie and her staff were perfect hosts. They were attentive but not over-bearing. We were able to get to lots of differ - Simply beautiful. Clean and airy. The room size was brilliant. Good car parking (didn’t have to worry about doors getting dinted) Breakfast was amazing too. n/a
- Fiona (9/5): Home comforts and very good value for money - Everything we needed, quiet, comfortable, convenient, good value and little touches such as fresh milk in the room and dressing gowns. Very friendly greeting from Nataliia Nothing we didn't like although we do prefer a cooked breakfast. With that said, there was lots of variety at breakfast and we appreciated that you catered for us as non-meat eaters. Thank you.
- Barbara (10/5): Great place to stay , good value, expert hosts, perfect location. - Our room was large and well set out with a very good en-suite bathroom. We had everything we needed.
The hotel has the best people working for them; their friendliness and willingness to please made our stay perfect . We are planning our return. My husband would have liked to be able to switch the bathroom light on without activating the extractor fan ; it’s quite noisy .
- Szabolcs (10/5): The new standards! Just perfect from every perspective. - clean and tidy, everything well organised
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely area- picked as dog friendly and had a lovely stay Nothing
- Linda (10/5): We experienced exceptional hospitality from all staff we met especially Debbie at breakfast. - Everything Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): We will definitely try to stay again. - Fantastic room with a lovely continental breakfast. Very friendly staff.
- Beat (10/5): we liked it a lot - very spacious room, spotlessly clean, lovely continental breakfast. ideally situated for hikes and excursions. nothing
- Dr (10/5): Good base to see a lot of attractions. - Proferrional and friendly. Very clean. Comprehensive breakfast selection.
- Karen (10/5): would stay again - cleanliness and eye for detail
- David (9/5): everybody was excellent and made us very welcome. can’t thank them enough especially storing our bikes away safely each - excellent room facilities.
- Ray (8/5): Very comfortable - Shower looks good but flow rubbish
- Thaw (9/5): Superb - close to the nice beach.
- Yvonne (9/5): Brilliant stay - Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were clean and spacious. Hosts exceptional. Went out of their way to make us feel very comfortable. Could not have done anything better
- Lenora (10/5): Fabulous stay at ⁰Elysian Fields B&B - Jackie and Tony made us so welcome.
Our room was amazing, no expense spared on furnishings and fittings. Very clean and comfortable.Good quality bed linen and comfortable bed.
Everything you needed was provided, great coffee machine, a variety of teas and coffee, fridge, steam iron, ironing board, hair dryer. Good quality and plentyful towels.
Continental breakfast was fabulous, amazing selection of bread, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cold meats and cheese as well as cereals.
Lovey residents lounge, beautifully decorated throughout.
Also great facilities for campers, caravans and motor homes, with electric hook ups and water. Individual shower room facilities which are all differently decorated, they were amazing.
Children's play area and Tony's Tavern, which Tony opened especially for us; Good selection of beers, wines and spirits.
We could not fault anything absolutely fabulous place to stay. We would highly recommend Elysian Fields B&B. Absolutely nothing!
- Gabriela (10/5): Definitely coming back with my dog to this lovely place - Lovely breakfast with lots of options. Fresh food and delicious food. Everything was amazing, thank you for a lovely stay.
- Roy (8/5): We would happily stay again. - We booked this property because it had an electric car charger. We were originally told we would have to pay to use this, however it was free for guests to use.
We received a phone call whilst travelling down to Cornwall to inform us that four of the staff had tested positive for Covid, but decided to go ahead as planned.
There were only two girls covering the B&B and the camp site. They worked really hard to ensure that our stay was a success.
Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Due to staff being unable to work because they had tested positive with Covid, there was no on-site bar or restaurant. This was unfortunate, but was not a major problem for us.
