• Sasha (6/5): Wasn’t horrible and the staff did try to fix the issues - The upgraded look on the inside was good Didn’t like the fact that it didn’t have clean sheets, the pillows inside the pillow cases were filthy, the sheets had hair & the tub also had hair.. If more effort is put towards the cleaning, it’ll be fine ..

• Robert (2/5): Will not stay again - The location was good and free wifi. The smell was horrible, like heavy mildew. Mold on the shower walls. Rusty clothes rack.. Had not been cleaned very well. We found fake fingernails all over the place. No customer service.

We actually left early because I could not be in that room any longer! Maybe air conditioners filters or something but for someone with breathing issues this is not the place for you!

• Janet (8/5): Annual trip - We travel through every year on our way to Texas. We love staying here. Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced. They provide a refrigerator and microwave. There is a convenience store next door with meals available. Love the state park near by too.

• Lekethia (5/5): Cold Water & Noisy - It was close to My family & job for the purposes I was staying there. I Didn't like the Water doesn't get Hot it's lukewarm at best but was mostly cold. Also it doesn't really matter if u needed Ur room clean or not housekeeping would still say they need to clean when u requested u didn't want anything cleaned. I believe they were simply being Noisy but had an Attitude because my Daughter & G'kids would visit while I was there for two weeks.

• Geri (1/5): Avoid these rude, incompetent hotel managers/staff. - The bed was comfortable. The shower head sprayed well. There were several issues. 1) The staff, which seemed to consist of a grandmother and mother, were simply horribly rude and unhelpful. I have stayed at mom/pop lodgings before, and I have never experienced such unprofessional appearance, behavior, and conversation. On checking in, the grandmother asked if I had a pet. I said no, that I have a service dog. That seemed to confuse her. She asked how big my “pet” is, and I gave her the weight, but she seemed to want to know how tall. (English was not her first language.) Since the size of my dog is a non-issue because she is a service dog, I simply reiterated that she is a service dog and not a pet. She left the desk to evidently go check about it. When she came back, she shoved a single key toward. She had never once smiled, said hi, said welcome, just a constant scowl. We went to our room, which was quite small, with a king bed, made so much smaller by having a large, overstuffed, chair shoved in between the wall and bed on one side, where it blocked access to the bed and nightstand. For the remainder of our stay, we had to move the chair to get in bed, to get to the bathroom vanity, and to get to our hanging clothes. Renovations that were done seemed to have extended to painting the door, replacing the mattress , and replacing the toilet, and adding a small, but decent sized refrigerator. It was still an old place. The room itself was reasonably clean, as long as you didn’t look in corners or along baseboards. The floor was tile, and since there were no mats to wipe your shoes on, it became a mess quickly because it rained every day we were there. When I turned down the bed the first night, the bottom sheet was stained so badly that I couldn’t tell if it was stained or dirty. The top sheet had several spots on it (like dirt smears) that I was able to wash off. The mattress pad was horribly stained. I made do that night with my own items.

I booked two nights, but my king room was not available when I arrived, even though I would have been penalized one night - that is, I had paid for it. The second room I got had no power outlets and no lamp at the desk, so working on the laptop was tough.

For a motel if it's rating and price, it far exceeded my expectations. If traveling through Ashdown again, I would definitely stay there and recommend it to others.

• Corinne (4/5): - Checked in at 2am and the desk clerk was extremely rude. She had been sleeping in an office/backroom and was in her pajamas. Very argumentative and didn’t want to check me in even though I had a reservation and had prepaid for the room. Then gave me a room which a single bed when I had reserved 2 double beds. She was very argumentative about that until I pulled up my reservation confirmation and showed her. Facility and roooms were nice, but customer service was extremely poor
• Jess (4/5): - The staff was so rude from the beginning to the end of our week stay there while my husband was working in Ashdown. I had to go out of my way to get clean towels daily and when I did ask, they seemed to be annoyed that I "inconvenienced" them. We travel alot and this specific job my husband was asleep during the day because he worked nights. All trash and linens I did myself because there wasn't an attempt on their part to clean anything in our room until our stay was over. With there not being many places to stay in the area, we would assume they'd would've been more accomodable to the guest that did have.

However, when I wanted to check out, I waited several minutes for someone to check me out and print a receipt, but no one came.

• L (7/5): Felt safe since it was an open area. - I did not see breakfast available so was not sure if they supplied anything. I left early so grabbed something on way to job. Last time I stayed they had no hair dryer so I brought my own this time. I noticed they put hair dryers in but mine was not working.
• Elizabeth (8/5): Large, clean room with great extras - Very clean, large room, big TV, nice bathroom, great location, in-room refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. The only thing that we were not happy with was the very firm mattress. Not comfortable at all and we had a hard time sleeping on it. The check-in host could also try smiling once in a while and make an attempt at making guests feel welcome.

Weather rainy and shoes were wet when we entered room which had tile on the floor and no rug as you entered. Very slick and dangerous. Room service was minimal-emptied rash-did not empty coffee pot, make up beds-took used towels but did not replace. Also-but not their fault-trains blowing whistles several times each night waking us up each time. Good rate but thats all.

• Marcus (10/5): - This place is one of those U-shaped little single-story roadside motels that were everywhere in the 1940s and 50s. You park directly in front of your room, and walk right in. The room was immaculately clean, with a big flat-screen TV, all the Direct TV channels, a four-cup coffeemaker, refrigerator freezer, desk and chair, bedside table, with an easy-reach wall switch, and a terrific queen-sized bed. The price for a night's stay is also terrific. I'd recommend this motel to my friends and family without hesitation. It was really nice, and staff was, too! The parking area is well-lit and has plenty of room to back around and navigate. It's next door a big EZ Mart conveience store.

When I got there I had to call the office just to get someone to come to the desk because the employee was in the back asleep. The employee tried saying they didn’t see where I booked it even when I showed it the confirmation number and all.Finally got that fixed. I booked a non-smoking room and the employee even asked me if I wanted smoking or non-smoking room, I told him non-smoking. I got to the room and I was given a smoking room. It smelt horrible! The room smelt like a ashtray, I had to leave the door open just to air it out some.
