Guest Reviews
- Jasmine M (2/5): Great location… competent, staff.. - Beaumont st, say less Found dirty needles full of blood and drugs under the sink in 401 on my first ever visit. I suspect the cleaners don’t do their job properly if they didn’t find a needle full of coagulated blood under the sink where they’re supposed to replenish supplies… and.. clean. I put that needle in the shower drain in 401 - I suspect, it’s probably still there based on what’s ahead in this read. On this same day while I was in the shower a cleaner let a girl into the room who had left behind her belongings apparently. Of which I had not seen and still never the less an absolute surprise to be exiting my shower and be greeted by a young lady… confused.. looking for her, belongings… Being bombarded by cleaners and asked if I will be checking out at 9:30am before 10am checkout which is when they come to clean at every other time I have stayed which is NUMEROUS. How keen they are to be on time if not 30 minutes early to disrupt your morning will make more sense a paragraph or so down. On not one, but to occasions have I had no electricity to charge my phone, no tv, no fridge on not one but two occasions for more than 12 hours on each occasion. Meaning I had to go sit in the hall way and charge my phone or go to my ex boyfriends car to charge my phone in the early hours of the morning……………….. I was compensated with this by being given a late check out of two hours……….
The other day I made a mistake and thought I renewed my booking for two nights however I had only renewed for the one. Neither my ex and I had functional phones. No cleaner came till 2pm at which time we were relayed the news I had made an error and this was absolutely unacceptable despite the fact I was saying I would extend and pay and it was an error we just didn’t have phones to do so.

- Brad (8/5): Great location - Comfortable room in fantastic location.
- Lisa (1/5): Miserable - Location The property was dirty the fire alarm panel was going off and buzzing the whole entire time and I could hear it from my room. The room was dirty. The bed was uncomfortable. No proper cleaning has ever been done. It was so disappointing and I have stayed there many years ago for many times. I couldn’t get into the back door to get up the lift and he could come down that way so to get my bags up the stairs was really difficult this time.
- Lucinda (9/5): Great location - Bed was comfortable, little kitchen was handy, plenty of room, the location is amazing right in the middle of everything Should be shampoo and conditioner on the wall, had to use the soap to wash my hair.
- William (8/5): -
- Catherine (2/5): Avoid room 410! - Great location near restaurants, pubs and shops Our particular room was not fit for purpose, the mattress was terrible, we could feel and hear the springs when we moved, very thin pillows and the noise from nearby air con or refrigeration units cutting in and out all night was unbearable. A larger person could not use the bathroom in this room with the tiniest of gaps between shower and vanity.
The worst stay in Newcastle we have ever had.
- Chantelle (8/5): - Location Towels
- Frewen (10/5): Great stay - Literallt Right on a main street. Walking distance to shops and food, 0 staff contact. Got a message with a front door code + room code, felt very independent and felt relaxed and un watched, bathroom looked renovated and new, shower screen was cool sliding both directions creating a large walking space into the corner located shower , , . Would stay here again 2 small negatives. The TV was positioned on an arm lower the head height .and next to the bathroom entrance, going to the toilet in the dark in the middle of the night, got banged a few times, also only 1 light blanket on the bed, none extra in the room, it can be cold in Newcastle and coming into winter soon , although there is an aircon/heater that works in the room so alternatively could use that to warm up
- Elisa (7/5): -
- Krishnan (8/5): - No parking facility
- Paul (3/5): - Location Bed was absolutely terrible. Nothing but Springs in mattress
- Byron (3/5): -
- Joyce (6/5): Not for us - Close to station, buses and restaurants Stairs not enough power points no where to sit to have a meal. Stuffy. Not enough crockery
- Jack (1/5): -
- Leeanne (8/5): -
- Marjan MIlojeski (1/5): -
- Raveesh (7/5): good location but need to focus on cleaning. - location and room. bathroom pot cleaner was dirty, lizard in room and condom packet lying, seems room was not cleaned properly.

- mark (7/5): Convenient -
- Garnsuda (6/5): -
- Taya (9/5): Great location, good space and everything you need. - Great location, good space and everything you need.
- Glenn (5/5): -
- Maria (8/5): Okay for one night but not great value for money - It was okay
Bathroom was clean and modern A bit noisy downstairs until late.
No spare blankets or pillows
No teaspoons in drawer
Mattress was full of metal springs and quite uncomfortable
- Imogen (10/5): - Fantastic space. Comfortable, reasonably priced and very easy to access with 24/7 check in. Very accommodating staff who listen to your needs and deliver a fabulous option for your comfortable stay.
- Wayne (8/5): Comfortable - Location and lots of food venues closes by Nol
- Samantha Roy (10/5): -
- Duncan (8/5): -
- Steven (10/5): -

- Luke (10/5): Best value for money for short stays - I do short stays for work in Newcastle. Perfect for that. Best value for money. And I have booked alot of places up here and I now just book here. Location is perfect as it is close to restaurants and a grocer. Can park in the street pretty easily after 5pm until morning. Good clean facilities. Easy digital check in. Only 2 codes. 1 for the entry door and one for the room. If you struggle physically the entry stairs might give you a bit of trouble. I would love more kitchen utensils.
- Luke (10/5): -
- Connor (10/5): -
- Steve (6/5): - No parking.
- Andy (5/5): Adequate but maybe overpriced . - Clean and basic No natural light as blind needed to be closed on the one small window for privacy. No bedside lamps, no tea towels.
- Adam (9/5): - Comfortable, well appointed, well laid out room.
Fantastic location for shops, restaurants, pubs, bars, and transport.
- SuzeM (7/5): Comfortable and convenient - I've stayed here many times before and always enjoy my stay. The rooms have a kitchenette with a full sized fridge, cooktop, microwave, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc, which is great to help on saving money rather than forking out to eat out for every meal. Rooms are bright, clean and comfortable. The venue is right in the middle of loads of restaurants, pubs and cafes, there's a supermarket across the road and the train station is a five minute walk away. The lift doesn't work so it's stairs only. The room I was appointed was smaller than other rooms I've stayed in previously, the bathroom was small and awkwardly laid out. There's only street parking here, and the closest parking is timed and in high demand. There are no bedside lamps so if you like to read in bed, be prepared to have get up to turn out the light before going to sleep.
- Heather (6/5): Convenient apartment, great for solo traveller - Walk from train station, close to lots of great cafes/ restaurants, air conditioner worked really well, having key codes rather than actual keys is great There was not a single coat hanger in the room and no hair dryer despite advertising that there was one. The bathroom was very cramped and to get past the vanity to the toilet was difficult due to narrowness of space but lovely mirror and shower. Whilst the room was very clean, the common walkway/ corridor had a fair bit of rubbish on the floor.
- Terence (6/5): Adequate - Location was fine. There was no reception, but when I rang for assistance, they were very helpful. The room was quite ordinary and soulless. The facilities within the room were fine, but there was nothing welcoming about the room.
- Peter (8/5): Comfortable flat in central Newcastle. - Clean, easy to get to, great location and secure. No parking, had to park some distance away on street.
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Pipat (9/5): -
- Raghu Nathan (8/5): Comfortable stay in prime location -
- Cheryl (10/5): Excellent - Excellent
- Tony (5/5): - Looking a bit tired
- GregP (9/5): Great place for a short stay - Comfortable and quiet Nil
- Janik (4/5): Never again - Bed was okay Where it is situated
Television was not working
Noise from street till 2am was horrible
Very sterile and bland room and far from homely
- Nikki (10/5): -
- Nikki (10/5): -
- Kerrie (10/5): A beautiful experience to share a girls weekend, the location was good and the house had everything on offer for a great - The house was amazing with perfect facilities
- Roberto (4/5): -
- Chua (10/5): -
- Melinda (5/5): Won’t stay again if they don’t compensate for the urine smell and wasted room . Other than this we have stayed many time - Location Had 2 rooms booked one had a broken toilet seat and the other had a very strong urine smell and was not fit to stay In
- Joshua (4/5): -
- Jair Danilo (7/5): -
- Kathrynn (8/5): -
- Sam (2/5): -
- Rachel (7/5): A good all-rounder for a few nights - Nice large room. Conveniently located to shops and eateries. Kitchen facilities. The shower water volume was great. Privacy of room. Quiet when in room. Car parking is a bit of a challenge.
King bed mattress was like sleeping on the bed frame, but King single bed was very comfortable.
As a female by myself, I didn't enjoy the entrance and tunnel like feel of it to get to room.
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Ashlyn (8/5): -
- Max (10/5): -
- Steven (9/5): -
- Christine (7/5): It was disappointing to begin with , except for the broken toilet seat & lack of cutlery - N/a The toilet seat was broken / the room wasn’t serviced on Friday ie. no fresh towels . I was of the understanding we were getting 1 queen & 1 single bed for me ( 80 yrs old & my disabled son ) . We had 2 single beds pushed together .This however was rectified on Saturday .
- David (1/5): Waste of time and money - Everything. I booked an early arrival for 11am and paid $50. I actually was allowed to go in at one. The room was old and dirty. Really bad. I left that afternoon. There was no way i was staying there
- Ruth (6/5): Poor sleep due to noise and hard mattress will not be visiting again. - Easy to get in, basics well provided for Awake until midnight because of loud noise from local pub. One of the rooms we booked was full of cigarette smoke due to open window and close proximity to smoking area
- David (10/5): Very comfortable stay - Modern property, clean and secure. Desk was suitable for remote work. Some of the air conditioner fans were a little noisy at the start of the evening.
- Jake (10/5): -
- Braith (10/5): It was excellent - How close to everything it is Nothing
- JESSICA (8/5): -
- Juan Diego (1/5): It was terrible. - The bathroom was clean. Where do I begin. The sheets smelt like mould, the pillows felt like sleeping on concrete, there were two hand imprints on the wall behind the bed and the corridors had random feathers out and about.
- Julie (8/5): Conveniently located place for a short stay - Location was perfect for my needs Hadn’t been sent a code to access entry to the property from the street. Luckily someone was exiting the premises as I arrived. Eventually contact with a staff member was made & issue was resolved
- Tina (5/5): Not going to ever rebook accommodation here. - So much trouble with door codes that didn't work. Had to be issued new code 5 times. Scared to go out to get dinner incase door code failed again. Just didn't have the energy left to keep ringing office for a new code. Also so many stairs to room and lift seemed to be permanently out of action. At $221 per night this was very poor value.
- Alvin (4/5): -
- Cristhian (4/5): unhygienic and unsafe - pillows smelt like they have not been cleaned and smelled of human body odour. domestic fight on verandah about drug use woke me up at 5 am
- Dianne (8/5): -
- Amber (9/5): -
- Paul (10/5): -
- Coral (1/5): - Cleaner i talked to was friendly Didnt get a chance to like anything. Was not disability accessable so couldnt stay there. Lost that night $ and had to find somewhere else
- Janice (10/5): Perfect location. Will be back. - Clean, quiet and perfect location. Nil
- daniel (1/5): - Nothing Room smelt could not open. Window bed and pillows hard an uncomfortable
- Christine (4/5): Good location, but wouldn’t stay there again. - It was in a very good location, right on the main street and close to lots of restaurants. Parking was of a concern, one hour parking from 9:00am to 5:00pm. But as we arrived after 400pm and left before 10:00am the next day, that was manageable. We were a bit concerned about the safety of our car as the Main Street was very dirty and graffitied. That’s not the fault of the accommodation though.
The tv in the room had no remote control so we couldn’t turn it on and it took a couple of phone calls before we were finally given a code to unlock a supply cupboard to get a new remote. The tv worked fine for about an hour, then all connection was lost.
Also the microwave oven was very dirty inside and the tea towel was mouldy.
The toilet seat was loose as was the tap in the bathroom. Quite disappointing.
- LOUISE (7/5): Adequate and affordable when you just need somewhere to sleep - Great location, easy access Wine glasses were dirty, common areas needed cleaning and we were in a disabled room. Shower wasnt flowing sufficiently
- Clarke (9/5): -
- Olivia (2/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Geoff (6/5): Basic accommodation, clean but could have been vacuumed better. - Proximity to my destination. Noisy (other tenants) and NO toaster. Door drags on carpet when you open the door, not easy to open.
- Kevin (2/5): Extremely unsatisfactory! - Location was the only good thing. It was run down and not up to standard for the cost. It was not clean with dust on all surfaces. When we moved a chair there was dirt, pieces of plastic and a pill on the floor. The cooking facilities were totally inadequate with very limited cutlery pots and only one wine glass. There was no washing up provisions whatsoever!. The kitchen tap was very unstable and needed two hands to operate. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and was nearly unusable. During the night children were using the corridor as a playground!
- Kevin (3/5): Very disappointing ! - Location was great It was run down from two years ago. It was not very clean with dust on all surfaces. When a chair was moved there was dirt an d a pill on the floor. . The kitchen tap was very unstable and difficult to use. The cooking implements were very limited. Totally inadequate number of plates and only one wineglass.. No provisions to clean after cooking.. The bathroom sink was difficult to use as drainage appeared to be severely blocked.. No bedside lamps.
- Yu (8/5): -
- Jasmine (10/5): Great affordable location - Convenient location, very tidy, good little laundry The strange 8-8 curfew - no guests at all allowed in between 8pm and 8am 7 days a week. I can understand not having parties as most places do but 8-8 no guests at all is somewhat over the top in my opinion so something to consider if you don’t read their fine print which I did finally on my last visit there. Other than that I really like it there
- Owen (8/5): -
- Steve (7/5): Great location and reasonable price - Easy check-in with text message code, not too noisy considering the nightlife in the area, spacious clean and comfortable rooms. Terrible drains in bathroom sink and shower - both pooled with water immediately so I ended up standing in several inches of water in the shower.
- Nicholas (7/5): -
- AAG400 (1/5): Avoid this property - it is terrible - it should not sold be on Booking.com!!!!!!!!!!! - Nothing! just an awful hotel experience. Terrible Room. Nothing like the images. No one on site to assist with my room problem. Room was dirty. Noisey (next door room and from street). Depressing. I left the hotel at 1 am (in the middle of the night) and drove back to Sydney.
- Jessica (7/5): -
- Otree (5/5): did what needed but maybe not worth the price - good location for what we needed. room itself is comfortable enough and easy to access with door codes have stayed here before but this room was starting to feel like it had problems. Broken soap holder in shower (so none). shower head stuck in a mode that was just annoying to shower under and broken hair dryer.
