Guest Reviews
- gryszard (6/5): - Lokalizacja, śniadania wliczone w cenę, dostępność zamykanych szafek. Brudne łazienki, brak zasłon przy łóżkach.
- Singh (4/5): -

- Karolina (10/5): - Excellent stay!
- Bilal (10/5): -
- Lucie Pauline (3/5): Good Location but felt super unsafe as a female solo traveller. - Good Location and nice breakfast We went out drinking with the Manager and Seng in the evening. The manager tried to pressure me several times into having Sex with him and blamed it on the alcohol the next day. I felt super unsafe after and he never apologized. I don‘t recommend this Hostel for Solo female travellers!
- Alemar (8/5): - Breakfast is included, great location a few meters away from the night market Beds are not so nice and everything feels old, but is what you expect for the price
- Dan (8/5): -
- Fred (7/5): -
- Carolina (5/5): - When I arrived at the hostel, one of the guys at the reception told me I was beautiful and asked if I was traveling alone. When he walked me to the room, he said that if he were me, he wouldn’t sleep alone. I asked why, and he said “because of the ghosts.” Nothing else happened, but I don’t think those comments are appropriate for women who want to travel peacefully
- jian (10/5): - 位置非常好,在洋人街上,普西山的山脚下。 老挝的旅馆是先交钱再入住,多交钱提前离开是不退钱的,和中国越南不一样,这点大家要注意,住一天交一天。

- Wing Yee (9/5): Good value - Its location is the best aspect. Right in the old Luang Prabang area, near the temples, day and night markets, and plenty of eateries. It's also fairly clean. The staff were friendly and helpful but at times a bit too busy as they also run a tour operation. The room I slept in was without windows. It was small. However since I opted for this, I do not complain.
- ma (10/5): -
- Telaan (6/5): Fine for a night or two but some things to be aware of - ✅ it’s “cheap” for LP and it’s on the main road. So you’re just footsteps away from the main sites in the old centre.
✅ they offer a made to order breakfast menu with western and asian options
✅ staff were friendly
✅ free water filter
✅ bed was quite okay if it wasn’t for the negative points ❌ wifi was weak in the rooms, but I only stayed one night and it was raining so maybe this had an impact.
❌ the bathrooms are the biggest letdown of this place. Hot water doesn’t work, there is no soap in the lobby sinks. On floor 1 there was soap, but many walls are dirty, it’s all just a bit dingy.
❌ although I could accept it, I can imagine many would not: there is no lock. Maybe this is how they get people to pay for a locker? The door is unlocked, so you can (in principle) come inside from the road. Although there are cameras. It just felt a bit annoying.
❌ as I said already it was raining, and the roof had a hole in it. A bucket was placed under it. But I just got the impression that a renovation is due.

Localisation Paid towel
- Heleno (7/5): - The hostel's location is excellent, as is the staff. A simple breakfast is included, very good for the price. Tours and transportation between cities are offered at the hostel. Air conditioning and a fan are provided in the room. Dormitory with 6 beds, no windows, no curtains, no closets. There are only small lockers at the reception, and you have to pay a deposit to use them, as well as towels. There is no soap for washing hands.
- raquel (4/5): - habitacions molt petites i poc ventilades
- Xu (9/5): Superb - Good price, and location. Including breakfast. In the Morning just walk 1 minute to see alms giving ceremony.
- Roberto (10/5): It’s worth the stay - The location and easy going attitude
- Singh (7/5): If you a solo traveler and budget packing choose it - Staff is totally nice About the air conditioner
- Jeongsu (1/5): I hope my review helps you to make right decision - Good location, cheap price, breakfast included, tours, transportation booking available. Housekeeper does some jobs Too many mosquitos and bite which is too much and painful. A bi dirty and old place. Smells bad in the bed. Fried egg and bread for breakfast, on the menu noodles but not available. Coffee might be not available, based on your luck. Tours are reasonable price and good choice but transportation is expensive than other shops, even if you get discounted, it is still higher price anyway. I booked minivan from Luangprabang to Vangvieng. They promised that they will drop me on my hostel in the city, but driver refused and dropped me at the entrance of Vangvieng so I had to walk 20mins with bag and backpack on hot day. No towel provided too. Not hot water. No amenity. It’s cheap hostel but you could get better one easily. Everything in the village, it is walking distance 3 night 4days was ok, but can be easily done 2 night stay unless you want to drink and chill without doing nothing.
Kunagsi waterfall
Phousi Hill
Riverside local Laos BBQ
Earlier morning - offering Buddha
Those are main activities in Luangprabang can be done in 2days !
- Manpreet (8/5): Very good - Location and the staff- 5 stars No privacy
No curtains
Yet it was anytime value for money
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant - Location the hostel needs some maintenance work, cold water, tour planning not working properly.
- Pin (7/5): Fine - Good location, good price The building has water leakage, and the bedside lamp is broken
- Shanish (10/5): Good hostel - Everything Nothing is there I didn’t like , everything is good
- Jaiswal (1/5): Bad -
- Nitesh (5/5): Passable - You get what you pay for even the Staffs are not welcoming.
- Musan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erita (8/5): Very good -
- Quentin (10/5): Awesome hostel - Luang Prabang doesn't have much more than the morning and night market, as well as the phousi hill; these are all reached with a 2 minute walk down the street.
You can book any ticket there, tours, trains, vans, you name it. And you can even rent a motorcycle for cheap (150kip). Refillable water, a clean fridge which has space, free coffee and tea, and a kitchen if you're feeling adventurous.
There's a lot of bathrooms and toilets, never had an issue where I had to wait. They are all clean and comfortable.
I slept in the 12 dorm room for around 7 days, and every night I've slept great. Of course it depends on who's there, but the tony vibe makes sure it's quiet after 11pm.
The staff are wonderful people, the housekeeper makes a great breakfast and the reception gives great help when you have questions. It feels like they know everything :)) The atmosphere in the common room is a bit bland. There is plenty of tables with a lot of chairs, so you can sit and eat with others, but it feels more like a waiting lobby than a living room, in my opinion.
I still met a lot of awesome people there, so it is really a minor point.
- Patrícia (8/5): Very good - Good value for money, we basically stayed alone (only 1 other girl in the room)
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - location nothing
- Marwinastorga (3/5): Disappointing stay - Few steps away to the National Museum, Mount Phousi and Night Market stretch. Lots of restaurant nearby. Too hot for an 8 bed mixed dormitory with a single fan that does not rotate at all. The aircon was switched off from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 3 PM to 7 PM which was absolutely crazy. You cannot stay in the room during those times since it's too hot inside like an oven. The aircon switches are centrally controlled by the front desk staff. Never coming back to this hostel ever
- Jemima (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jimmy (9/5): Excellent value for money - Excellent value for money Nothing
- Aldamunde (3/5): No privacy at all - The staff is nice, everything is very clean and the breakfast is pretty good. However, there is absolutely no privacy in the rooms. All the bunkbeds are crammed together and have no curtains so I felt very uncomfortable being the only woman in the room. Also, there are rules in the hostel, but nobody seems to follow them, which makes them pointless. There were people showering at 2 AM and walking in and out of the room… In sum, I didn’t enjoy my stay at all.
- Sachin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorena (1/5): The hotel is out of service. I don't understand why they don't remove it from the website. - The hotel is out of service. I don't understand why they don't remove it from the website.
- Affy (8/5): Very good - well i only stay one night there because they had some issues in the hostel & it was good tony hostel refer me to stay one night in different hostel 'city backpacker hostel' it was expensive and the staff were very rude/unfriendly, i don't recommend this hostel at all
- Mathieu (8/5): Great hostel to stay in if you stop by Luang prabang -
- Oliver (1/5): Bad - Cancelled on us an hour before because they were overbooked. We had booked 4 days previously.
- Talisker (7/5): Good -
- Maria (8/5): Good Hostel for the night - 1. Clean / efficient toilet and shower.
3. Beds were comfy.
3. Quiet
4. Breakfast basic but nice.
5. Good location. 1. Staff could be more engaging / welcoming.
- Seren (7/5): Don’t book on booking.com - Dorm and shared bathroom facilities were clean. Dorm we had was 14 bed - not stated on booking but a heads up. Stayed at sister property as this one was overbooked - apparently a common issue if booking through booking.com. Staff were helpful despite the frustration. No toilet paper or towels provided.
- Gabrielle (2/5): BED BUGS! AVOID!!!! - Excellent location, right on the main street where all the cute restaurants are, good wifi but that's where the positives end. BED BUGS! Please do not ignore the previous reviews about bed bugs - the hostel has done nothing to address this issue. I found live and dead beg bugs, I woke up with blood spots on my sheets and hundreds of little patches that looked like mould, which after researching on Google i found out is Bed Bug poo! I booked 4 nights but I left early and checked into another hostel.
The bunks don't have curtains - this is such an easy fix and is mentioned in almost every review - if the owners or managers cared about the experience and opinion of its guests, this could be such a quick and easy fix! There is zero privacy for those on top bunks.
The AC comes on at 7pm/when he remembers, but the AC is not nearly cold enough for the size of the room and the number of beds. He refuses to turn the temperature down to one that would make a difference. There is only one fan for the whole room, and it's near the door, meaning those near the window don't get any reprieve from the heat.
There is a terrace, but this is closed and locked around 2-3pm which is a crying shame because the fresh air from outside at night would make a huge difference to the comfort levels when sleeping.
The top bunks are extremely difficult to get up - the ladders are so thin it hurts your feet, but also there is no hand rail to grab on on your side of the bed, so you end up having to use the headboard of the other person's bed to actually get you up, which is not ideal since the headboard is so slow, your hand is very close to the other people's face.
Breakfast was included which was nice (a variation of eggs and toast) but it was so busy that I almost didn't get a seat on the first morning - people finish their breakfast and then sit chatting. I think it would be fairer to ask people not to hang around breakfast to allow others to get a chance to eat. There is also no tea or coffee, you have to bring your own, they provide hot water.
- William (9/5): Superb - Great place to stay, staff were helpful and were able to book train tickets as well. Bathrooms could be a little cleaner.
- Rafael (8/5): A chilled stay in picturesque Luang Prabang at a decent hostel. - I can recommend this hostel on the basis of a good price/quality. Nothing was spectacularly good nor bad, but nothing was missing either. For the price, including breakfast, and its central location, you can't go wrong with Tony Central in LPB if you're on a budget.
- Jenna (7/5): Very central - Very close to the market, clean bathrooms and free breakfast Beds could have had curtains
- Ana (9/5): Superb -
- Léa (8/5): Very good - Basic dorm but good, clean showers and toilets, some choice for the breakfast and coffee available.
The hostel also help you booking things if you need. The staff is really nice.
- Steven (8/5): Great value in a good location - Centrally located, boxes for valuables, good prices on tours, free tea and coffee and eggs for breakfast. Great value for money Nothing ! For £4 a night with a free breakfast - no complaints
- Chew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shreya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicolò (7/5): Great position - The place is in a very central position.
Breakfast is ok, one meal and free tea coffee.
For the price is ok. Wifi in my room was not so good and the room was very small for 8 people but for the price I paid is ok
- Shenyu (8/5): 👍 - sooooooo nice! The staff are very friendly. They can speak many languages. The place is so great on the sisavangvong road. There r many pretty restaurants nearby. I think the toilets are a little bit narrow.
- Errami (5/5): Not bad but the staff is a bit greedy -
- Maria (10/5): Amazing people and a great stay! - The people working there are very nice and will go out of their way to help you out with transport. The hostel is clean and central to everything. Greetings from Maria, ຂອບໃຈຫຼາຍໆ None
- Trường (9/5): Superb - The hostel is located right in the city center so it is very convenient for traveling and going to entertainment, dining and sightseeing places.
- Gianfranco_ts (8/5): Great hostel! - Excellent hostel in a great location, right on the main road where the night market is.
- Kareece (6/5): Pleasant -
- Petra (8/5): Very good -
- Niraj (10/5): Exceptional - Host is very friendly Nothing
- Bujar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maysam (8/5): Very good - Great location. Good breakfast. Great value for money. Clean. No privacy curtain for beds. The room is small with little space for luggage.
- Dennis (8/5): Great location and value - Great and affordable place. Great value for money and the location is ideal. A curtain at the bed would be better
- Kareece (7/5): Good - Its cheap and right in the centre, so worth its price. Rooms have no windows, shower lights don't work.
- Nomin (10/5): Exceptional - The staff, location, breakfast everything was great. Exceptionally clean place. Many tour packages to choose from.
- Wenjing (9/5): Superb -
- Philipe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Atanu (10/5): Exceptional - Location was awesome. The hostel is located at the main attraction of this town.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Holm (5/5): Cheap place to crash a few nights - Location and price is good, there was AC. Beds are too short for a taller person (if you're taller than 185cm its gonna be noticeable). The dormatory is tiny, can barely turn around in the room and only 1 of 3 lights was working. My bedsheets had something similar to mold on them? No privacy curtains on the beds like in most hostels. Staff is too confident for a cheap and pretty worn down accommodation, like there isnt other places to sleep. Breakfast is so so.
- Emma (10/5): Perfect stay - Room was clean and the bathroom too, toothbrushes provided, good location, staff very friendly, finally a good breakfast! WiFi worked well. I met nice people there :)
The location was also very convenient The AC wasn't working so well plus the window was kind of broken
- Jay (10/5): Exceptional -
- 景 (10/5): Good hostel - The service is very good and attentive. I am very happy to meet such a good service staff. Not only the service of other equipment is also very good, the attitude of the service staff is also very gentle. Their’s language is very fluent, they will try their best to solve the problem and will visit again in the future.
- Khánh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yord (10/5): It's brilliant hostel in the city center of luangprabang - The rooms are absolutely great and clean. The front desk staff always answered our questions with a smile. The hostel's location in the center is perfect, just a 2-minute walk to the night market, Royal Palace, and many nearby temples. It's a brilliant place to stay!" Free breakfast with 4 options you can choose Very spotless and quiet
- Quang (10/5): Exceptional - The hostel is situated in the heart of town. It is walking distance to many places especially if you are touring. The staff are also so friends, pleasant and helpful.
The hostel is also very neat and clean. Will definitely recommend this hostel if you want to stay in Luang Prabang, Laos.
- Thabo (8/5): The place is in a great location. - The hostel has the best hostel
- Naveen (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect. The staff here was very good.
- Aneta (8/5): Very good - People in the property were really nice. The location is great. The curtains above the bed are really missing. It lacks privacy
- Roman (8/5): Very good - Nice staff, clean bathrooms, decent breakfast.
- John (6/5): Pleasant - I liked the location I was happy with the staff
- Louise (5/5): Passable - The location is superb, and the bathrooms are modern and clean. Bedbugs! When I reported them, the manager denied it, telling me it must have been mosquitoes biting me - then when I showed him three I'd squashed he told me off for making more cleaning work for them, saying that I shouldn't have killed them. He moved me to a bed in a different room, but I saw that all they did was to change the bedsheet in the infested bed.
In the new room, the AC gurgled and dripped noisily into a bucket every few minutes - manager said he'd get it fixed, but didn't.
There were no curtains around the beds, hence no privacy.
- Kohei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maja (7/5): Good - The location was very good, staff was friendly but it was a huge problem with their transportation to Van Vieng and Veintaine. Breakfast was good and you could choose from a lot of options. And it was free coffee :)
- Nishith (9/5): A Good place to stay... - Good people, well behaved, excellent breakfast... The hostel is, near to everything
The, staffs guide you in all aspects Nothing there not to like
- Hendrika (7/5): Good - Perfect location in the historic centre next to the night market and the almost ceremony. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Excellent breakfast with several options to choose from. Good laundry service. Staff was not very friendly. On arrival not even a good evening or a smile. When you pay in Kip the exchange rate is quite bad, you pay about 10% more. Privacy curtains for the beds would be great and replacing one bunkbed by a set of lockers a good idea. The room should have a balcony and a view, but was locked and so were the shutters.
- Kimberley (7/5): Good - The location was great right on market street and only a minute away to start the walk for Phousi Hill. The showers were nice but the room was very tight. You only have space to put your stuff if you can fit it under the beds. The breakfast included in the morning was nice, there were many choices.
