Love the proximity to the beach and hearing the ocean overnight. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. Appreciate them. The rooms are not great. Cold and tacky with the themes. - Peter (9/5): - This hotel has individually themed rooms and is very quirky. One room we booked was the Medieval Room, and the 15 year old with us loved it. We stayed in a very nice Moroccan themed room with a shared balcony overlooking the ocean. The onsite restaurant is very good. As is often the case in this part of Mexico, the rooms di not have heat, so bring extra blankets or sleeping bags.

- Manuel (2/5): Not worth the visit - Booked last minute didn't enjoy our stay right from checkin they start nickel and diming you. The room we booked said 3 adults but charged us $25 per kid. We get to our room and it smells of cigarettes and there are burn marks on the bed. Really the only thing worth anything was the views from the rooms. The rooms are outdated also there are no locks from the inside so anyone with the combo can come in I can't imagine they change the code for every customer.

- Guest (10/5): Better than perfect! - Our stay at Poco Cielo Hotel was nothing short of magical, thanks in large part to our host, Gabriel, who welcomed us with such gracious warmth, kindness and gratis margaritas! Each room in the hotel is uniquely themed-a rare find in Mexico-and we began our visit in the Medieval Room, complete with faux stone walls, stained glass windows, and charming castle-like details. When we mentioned that the ceiling fan wasn’t working, we asked Gabriel for a small standing fan, but instead he graciously upgraded us to the Ice Cave Room, and it was spectacular. Cool, comfortable, quiet, and stunningly decorated with crystal “icicles” dangling from the ceiling, icy blue textured walls, silver accents, faux fur rugs, large shower, and a whisper-quiet ceiling fan. The bed was incredible; we slept like royalty. The food and service in the restaurant/bar was stellar! Two very special members of the “staff” also won our hearts: the sweet hotel cats, Meecha and Cielo. We were grieving the loss of our beloved longtime fur-baby, and these two seemed to instinctively know we needed a little extra animal love. They stayed close to us for our entire stay. One of our favorite memories was our last evening there - while enjoying a cocktail and live music on the bar patio, Cielo hopped up onto our table, rolled onto his back showing belly, purring loudly, flexing his mitts, and he stayed with us for 2 full hours. He clearly knew his role in guest relations (and possibly in boosting bar sales). His unspoken words seemed to be, "I'll keep these people happy, they will stay longer than intended, order more cocktails than they planned, and I earn my keep." And yes, we lingered longer, drank more margaritas and loved every minute! Even the hotel owner made a personal connection, wished us a good morning and asked if we’d enjoyed our stay. Every detail exceeded our expectations, and we left feeling not just rested and happy, but genuinely cared for. Not a thing!

- Monica (8/5): Great views! - The location is great! The views are amazing. The beach access is convenient. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They have live music and a restaurant. Our room was the wine room. There was no TV, no air conditioner, only a ceiling fan. The mattress was hard and made loud noises when turning around. The sofa was a pull out bed and it was dirty. We found crumbs in it. The patio furniture was dirty and rusty. The bathroom has little privacy.

- Patrick (10/5): Great Surprise - we loved our room and the view was amazing. Steps to the beach and not overcrowded. Restaurant had great food and the service we awesome. I like the location close to Puerto Nuevo and about 20 minutes to Rosarito and wine country. Parking was easy and safe. We will stay here again for sure.
- Sheila (7/5): It’s alright for a couple of nights - Absolutely loved the location, pet friendly and that it has beach access, it’s alright for a night or two. The majority of the staff is really nice and welcoming. The rooms need to be updated, please consider getting rid of the staircase and upper floor carpet… it stinks! There was a guy that took over the reception for the night shift that had a really bad attitude. We were at the beach minding our own business when a big dog started chasing my sister and her puppy, we asked him to remove his dog but he just laughed and went back in the hotel, he later tried to make some BS excuse when he realized we were staying in the hotel. Also make sure to call the property to ensure that you are assigned to a room in the building that has access to the beach and the water heater in your room is working ( they didn’t let us know ours was not working and couldn’t even find the key to the water heater closet so we took cold showers the morning we checked out). The parking spaces are in the street and it’s pretty shady at night.

- Nani (3/5): I will not be returning - The view and service are amazing I booked what said to be a “double room” this was just one bed and a pull out sofa that was uneven and stiff as a board. I booked specifically saying it was 4 adults and the room could only accommodate 2 adults. For the same price I could’ve stayed at Quartz abut beautiful hotel that could accommodate 4 grown adults

- Irvin (10/5): - We stayed here recently and if you want to have a private getaway with very minimal outings. This hotel is the perfect spot. Gabriel and others are very friendly and welcoming, the place is quite and private some downhill stairs and your right by the ocean. I would definitely come back again.

It was very quiet, only seemed to be aware of other guests when in the bar/restaurant area. Loved the parking spot right in front of my room inside the gated area. Great views! Empty beach feels like you have it all to yourself. Staff were very friendly. I thought it would feel far from things but there are some eateries and an Oxxo within walking distance. La Fonda Alisito was really good, ate there twice. Would definitely recommend. It was all good!

Hotel was great, food was great, room was absolutely perfect, we met the owner and she was so great and so was every single staff member. No complaints! Getting there was a learning lesson but the staff helped us with the bus taxis. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for such a great experience! It felt like a penthouse with the whole top floor of the building facing the ocean front was exclusively for this room. The host Hector was super nice and he gave us property tour of other rooms too as we plan to book this place again in future.

- Christopher (7/5): Cold but interesting. - Clean room. Interesting room. Good restaurant! It's kind of expensive for not having a T.V. and the room had no heat and was ice cold. They did put on a couple of nice blankets, but getting up to go in the middle of the night was agonizing. I might stay here again, but not in the winter.

- Felipe (4/5): - Book the one night stay in January, a family of four husband, wife and two small children. The room that I booked was for a king size bed, and sofa bed. We arrive after 2pm, unpack and headed to Ensenada. When we return during the night hours. We noticed that the sofa did not convert into a bed. Our rooms thing that we chose was cowboy, which means everything in our room is some sort of cowboy related. The gentleman was nice enough to switch us to a different room, which had a totally different theme next-door. At this point, we really get in mind. The facility has warm water and not hot water, and during January gets a little cold and we were expecting a hot hour. The room was extremely cold, and there was a chimney, but it did not work. The ocean view from my room was beautiful. But that’s about it.

Well worn furniture, asked for patio longer cushions and received 3 seat cushions for each lounger, each with the fabric badly ripped. No bottle opener:)

- Angelica (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful view from the ocean views room. Each room is specially decorated with a theme. Everything was very clean. Staff was so nice. There are no TVs in any room but the view made up for that. We used the chimney but we weren't told the vent wasn't opened when we bought the wood from the staff so the room ended up getting full of smoke and we had to open up everything because we needed fresh air lol. But not a big deal, we will still return
