Guest Reviews
- Stacy-Jo (8/5): - Had to carry heavy suitcases up and down two flights of stairs. Shared bathrooms weren’t as much of a nuisance as expected. Very clean guesthouse and surprisingly quiet. The best Aurora show of our trip was here. Great breakfast!
- Gaby (6/5): - Shared bathrooms were dirty due to other guests. There should be a sign indicating the toilet seat should be lifted prior to urinating! Nice facilities, good and friendly staff, lack of breakfast options
- NICOLAS (10/5): The perfect pitstop - Lovely warm welcome on arrival. Quickly checked in and offered a complementary coffee (we also bought a delicious homemade cookie). Left a bag of laundry with reception which was ready before 8am the next day.
The walk around the grounds is beautiful. The breakfast is a nice variation from the typical, we really enjoyed it.
Thanks to all the staff.
- Ma.Jesusa (10/5): - Good place
- Karin J (10/5): - Lovely place
Comfortable space
Great food
- Tsz Man (10/5): - Clean spacious dining area
- Eduardo (10/5): - It is very convenient that there was a hand wash inside the rooms and that the showers were separated from the toilets, it made the experience far more confortable. My friends and I recommend.
- Hao (8/5): - It is a very nice place. Clean and spacious. The staff is nice. Great breakfast.
- Pia (8/5): - Room itself was clean but the showers could be better. Sadly the water was very smelly. The staff was very nice and breakfast was good.
- Eric (10/5): - Free breakfast was awesome and the 1000isk packed lunch was also a great option.
Clean and tidy place. Showers and bathrooms were in individual cubicles so very private.
- Leigh (10/5): - 5 star experience. One of the best places we have stayed in Iceland. Clean and simple room. Able to heat up dinner in microwave. Fantastic, delicious breakfast buffet. Super kind and friendly staff. Highly recommend!!!! Thank you
- Yuyan (8/5): - Ok
- Jinping (10/5): - Clean , comfortable
- Mati (10/5): - Affordable, clean, and friendly!
- HAKSOO (10/5): - The staff are very nice!.
- Emma (10/5): - Great stay! There was a lovely walking trail along the grounds and each room was very clean and spacious. I liked that each room had its own sink, and single bathrooms and showers were very close by. Breakfast was fantastic. Would stay again!
- Colleen (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay there.
- Tatiana (10/5): - Amazing property, very clean and feels like a 4 star hotel rather than a guest house. They bake their own home made bread for breakfast. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would :)
- Eric (10/5): - Lovely guest house. The shared bathrooms were modern and clean. Lots of public spaces. Breakfast had great homemade bread, jams and other goodies. Coffee and tea are available all day. Stunning scenery. Would definitely come again.
- Martin (10/5): - Beautiful location.
Need black out shades in the room
- Ashok (10/5): - Nice and clean
Good breakfast
Nice location
Nice staff
- Tiffany (8/5): - Surprisingly clean in the room and shared bathroom areas. There is a shared lounge area where you have access to hot water and utensils for meals. Staff were welcoming and breakfast had the standard Icelandic options.
- Judith (10/5): - The property was lovely, with a good sized room. There is a lovely walking path around the property that I highly recommended! The included breakfast was tasty and well balanced with many options as well.
- Bing (10/5): - Very nice and efficient staff.
- Jorge (10/5): - the facility was super nice and the breakfast was amazing
- Kirill (10/5): - Nice clean place with beautiful view
- Tyler (10/5): - Very clean and friendly. The walking trail was a great way to start the morning.
- Stephen (10/5): - We were leery of the shared bathroom situation but everything was kept very clean and it actually all worked out just fine. Lovely breakfast! The rooms were simple, but had everything we needed- having the sink was nice so you didn’t have to run to the shared bathroom to brush your teeth and whatnot.
My little girl forgot her Kindle and the team there notified us as quickly as possible but we were already too far away to turn back. I worked with a few wonderful ladies via email and phone and they arranged to ship it to our last hotel before leaving Iceland. They were so sweet and helpful and we really appreciated their kindness!
- Alexander (10/5): - This place was an absolute winner. I wish I had more time there and in the East Fjords generally. Clean room, excellent common area, ample bathrooms, easy parking. Breakfast was ok, nothing special.
- Paul (10/5): - Really enjoyed the breakfast and the room. The staff was very friendly. Our favorite part was the beautiful walking trail attached to the property.
- Govind (8/5): - Rooms were clean and the staff were very polite and friendly. Had beautiful view of the mountains from our room.
- Donna (10/5): - Comfortable room and beds, we got a good night sleep after a long day. Beautiful area and they had homemade cinnamon buns
- Kirk (10/5): - Warm and welcoming! They have a great common room where you can sit and enjoy the amazing views. Coffee and tea are available 27/7. Breakfast was full of variety - fresh breads, fruit, cereals/granola, butter, jams, Nutella, and peanut butter, cheese and ham.
**For a small fee you can pack your own lunch from the breakfast supplies!! Fresh cookies and giant cinnamon rolls available for purchase.
Staff was outstanding.
- Tsaiti (10/5): - Nice and very quiet
- Dariia (10/5): - Great place
- Sowmya (8/5): - Enjoyed the stay. Rooms were clean, spacious, staff were friendly.
- Allison (8/5): - Very nice property. Grounds well maintained. Staff within guesthouse very friendly.
Unfortunately, very noisy, you hear other guests yelling / loudly talking throughout the night. Although the bed/room was nice, it did have an odor.
- Gavin (10/5): - Excelent value in an excelent area with plenty to do. Guesthouse itself offers walking trails
- Mary (10/5): - Professionally run guesthouse. Stayed in triple room. Very well maintained, very clean, comfortable beds, breakfast included in price. Would definitely stay again!
- Joy (10/5): - Nice hostel . Clean and comfortable
- James (10/5): Would stay again. - Great location. Staff was delightful. Good breakfast.
- Natasha (10/5): - This is such a cute little guesthouse. Rooms are bright and a good size, everything is clean, including the shared bathrooms and the breakfast was delicious. We also took advantage of the walking paths along the property. Would recommend if you’re passing through the area!
- Thu (10/5): - So clear and view perfectly
- Tu (10/5): - very nice place, great breakfast!
- Justin (10/5): - Fantastic stay, easy to get to and great facilities. Breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip, stay would be worth it just for that. My wife and I even managed to catch the northern lights just outside in the parking lot.
- Daniel (10/5): - Had a good stay here. Kitchen is easy to use.
- Bin (10/5): - No restaurant or kitchen on site but breakfast is included and very good. Just plan accordingly.
- Alan (10/5): - A very nice place to stay. Very helpful staff and comfortable room. Only downside and it’s not a big deal was a bit of a drive to a restaurant if you weren’t self catering.
- Johannes (10/5): - It's a nice place to stay when you are in the area. You have everything you need and it is very organized. Thanks a lot for having us.
- Arthur (10/5): - It was easy to check-in, there was ample parking, the room was clean and the breakfast included was nice! No complaints
- Geri (8/5): - Front desk was super helpful and gave us lots of recommendations for the surrounding areas. Love that they were nice and welcoming!
- Monika (10/5): - Do not miss the hiking trail at the property. It's only a bit over a mile, but exquisite.
- kyosook (10/5): - 숙소는 깨끗하고 편리했다
- Valentin (10/5): - I liked this hotel.
The staff is so nice and kind and my room had a nice view from the window.
- EKATERINA (10/5): - Overall was good. I would recommend to have more parking.
- Nikit (10/5): - Lovely property, very well managed. Room was clean and spacious. Bathrooms were clean too and spacious as well. Breakfast was good, lots of variety.
- PETER (6/5): - No hand towels, cramped breakfast buffet, location9km from Eglisstadir on the road to nowhere
- Dylan (10/5): - Great place to stay. Staff is super friendly and always helpful.
Breakfast is provided. It’s basically a massive charcuterie board but still pretty good with quite a few homemade items that are a must try
- Shan (10/5): - Close to city. Good breakfast!
- Jun (8/5): - Front desk staff is very nice and helpful.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Beautiful property with a friendly vibe and wonderful staff.
- Michel (10/5): - Greay place to stay!
- JUNGYUN (10/5): Economic stay for a quick night - My choice had no separate bathroom. The room was just big enough for two single beds, no TV, no kettle, nothing. But the shared bathrooms were spacious and efficient. Plenty of water pressure on the tap so that you can finish-off your showers.
Only problem I experienced was the insulation between rooms. I had to bear a man coughing for a long time through the thin wall.
Breakfast was very good. You can prepare your own lunchbox for 1,000 ISK.
There is no shared kitchen but you can use a big fridge for your food.
- Kaitlyn (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay here! The staff was great with giving advice on places to eat, things to see, and places to visit! The rooms were very clean and cozy - we had a wonderful nights sleep here! Breakfast was wonderful as well!
- Margaret (10/5): - Nice grounds, friendly staff, great breakfast!
- naveen kumar (10/5): - It was a pleasant stay. Nice location.
- Jay (10/5): - Breakfast included helps a lot when you’re travelling everyday so you don’t have to worry about what to eat for breakfast. Great staff, helpful and a great experience.
- Patrycja (10/5): - Wonderful staff and breakfast delicious and varied. Healthy options, homemade baked bread
- Narasimha (10/5): - Great location, clean and Great and joyful staff.
- Neville (10/5): - Good pit shop on our ring road itinerary. Breakfast was good and family room size was decent. Enough bathrooms. Having tea and coffee available 24x7 is a big plus. It’s 7km out from city center so u do need a car.
- Jacob (10/5): - This place was awesome. Great property and free breakfast!
- Zheng (8/5): - Good breakfast, clean room, nice staffs
- Mark A (10/5): Great guesthouse - sets the standard - Overall, one of the best guesthouses, of the many, we have stayed in - and the breakfast options were ample, too. We wish all were as good as this one.
- Maxwell (10/5): - Hostel like experience in a good way. Really enjoyed all of the helpful information in the lobby, enjoyed the nature walk around the property, and the breakfast was nice to have in the morning.
- rajesh (10/5): - Just great
- JAYESH (8/5): - Very cozy. clean, quiet and pretty location. Only down part is shared bathroom/showers and no elevators, so if you have huge luggages, hard to take it up stairs. However bathrooms and showers are very clean. We would come again 😊
- Daria (10/5): - Perfect stay! Feels like home.
- Ashley (10/5): - This place was great! Beautiful area, great breakfast buffet, clean, and quiet. We don't normally book places with a shared bathroom but there were no issues with that. Definitely recommend staying here!
- Pamela (10/5): - Nice place, walkable to the town
- Wai (10/5): - Nice staff and quiet environment
- Michelle (2/5): - This is a shared bathroom guest house. The worst thing is that the restroom is above our room. Every 10 minutes there was a flush and we heard all through the night! Terrible!
If it is shared bathroom, they should put bathrooms on two floors at the same location (one above the other ) or improve the sound insulation! I regret that I chose this place to stay very much!!!!!
- Ann (10/5): Great Budget Guesthouse - Our room was clean and comfortable. We had shared bathrooms, but we did not find this to be a problem. There was no waiting, and the bathrooms were clean. The breakfast was pretty good. There is a nature path outside that we enjoyed taking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Please note that the walls are thin; fortunately, everything quieted down pretty early and stayed quiet throughout the night. If you are looking for a budget friendly place to stay in this part of Iceland and don't mind sharing a bathroom, this would be a great option.
- jun (10/5): - Onsite receptionist until 9pm. Breakfast included
- Vishnu (6/5): Clean economical hostel - The staff are excellent and helpful and even gave us suggestions such as where to see Puffins. The place is neat and clean and the bathrooms were super clean. Our only annoyance was that the bathrooms had to be shared with all the rooms on the floor, not just 2 or 3 rooms. This gave it a hostel feel. It should be mentioned clearly in the description that the bathrooms are not shared by just 2 or 3 rooms but by all.
- Jim or Audrey (8/5): - Nice location, shared bathrooms and showers clean, great breakfast buffet, nice walking path around the property, great place for northern lights!
- Robert (10/5): - The property is an excellent place to unwind and relax after a day of hiking and travel. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Facility is clean and safe! Breakfast was tasty! Thanks
- Richard (10/5): - Good stay.
- Nicky (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Excellent guesthouse, very clean and has a good common area for cooking. Little away from the city/town and has a good lake view.
- ying (10/5): - Everything is perfect. Free breakfast is great and helped a lot! Thanks the friendly staff!
- Siew cheng (4/5): - The bed linen and pillow case were rough. Not comfortable to sleep on at all. One of my worse stay around iveland. Room were small. Breakfast was ok. Typical icelandic plain breakfast. As other people mentioned, if your neighbours comes back at 11pm at night, you hear the noise, voices at corridor, rooms , noise from enterimg , closing doors to toilets, rooms. My sleepmwas very disturbed unfortunately.
- Eduardo (8/5): - Late checkin was convenient. Helpful and friendly staff. The room is clean
- Gary (10/5): - I really liked their available laundry service. Also, their large kitchen/eating area, which was a central meeting area all afternoon and evening. People fixed their food and ate, or played games, or sat and did paperwork. Tea and coffee were always available. They had at least three different lounging areas, so you didn't feel cooped up in your room or restricted to one area. The staff was real helpful and friendly.
- Ruby (10/5): - This place has it all from the comfortable bed, excellence shower, plentiful seating areas, to the fabulous breakfast. Everything was sparking clean. And the grounds are so beautiful with lush grass and trees. Even a walking trail! I found it all so charming. Do stay here!
- Deborah (10/5): Loved it! - Really beautiful area with forest and lake views. Great staff and delicious breakfast. Rooms are small but comfortable and shared bathrooms are easily accessible.
- Leo (10/5): - Extremely clean staff very friendly and helpful breakfast was very good
- Peter (8/5): - Friendly service
- Paul (10/5): - The entire staff made us feel like family. Beds were outstanding. Every was extremely clean. The rooms were fully booked but we never heard a sound all night. Breakfast was difficult because there were so many delicious choices. I want their baker to move to our town! They have a 2km trail on their rural property that you simply should not skip.
- Qing (10/5): - nice place
