Guest Reviews
- Natalia (10/5): Outstanding! - Our stay at Guarda Val was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so incredibly kind and welcoming from the very beginning. Raffaele was the best waiter — so attentive, funny, and genuinely warm. The receptionist, I believe his name was Valentin, welcomed us like family and made us feel immediately at home.
Everyone we met was friendly, professional, and authentic. The bartender was a true expert and made some of the best cocktails we’ve had! The reception team was also amazing — they offered to help with dinner reservations, welcomed us with drinks upon check-in, and were incredibly flexible with check-out.
The thermal baths were very easy to access and available at all times, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. They also accommodated dietary preferences with off-menu options, which we really appreciated.
Overall, the level of kindness, hospitality, and care was exceptional. I honestly felt great the entire stay and would happily come back again.

- Brigitta (10/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal, ausgezeichnetes Essen, tolles Frühstücksbuffet, sehr gute Matratzen, viele kleine, sympathische Goodies. Nichts

- Martin (9/5): -
- Kristine (7/5): - Very nice room, cosy.
Great breakfast with great service Too high room rate for off season situation
Somewhat Incompetent staff at reception whose only explanation was 'i only work here for a month' --> train your staff properly even wenn it's not high season.
No information about hiking, not even a card, no bar service and no restaurant.
Other hotel Belvedere from the same group was more professional.

- Nicholas (10/5): Short trip to Scuol - Lovely room, they are all individual. Great breakfast. Access to thermal baths. Other than the walk up the hill, nothing!
- Shaun (9/5): Superb -
- Vitaly (10/5): Really enjoyed out staying here! - Breakfast was exceptional. Good collection of local specials including cheese and meet.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ernst (9/5): Very recommendable - We loved everything, the location, the friendliness of the staff, the food, the comfort, the accessability, the extras like free access to the spa, sauna, pool, public transport in a large area plus free access to the cable cars. amongst other benefits. Just great. The price is a bit on the high side, but relative, considering all the benefits.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent helpful reception staff
- Marija (7/5): Good - Location is what this hotel is all about! Fantastic views of mountains and the village! Also, the direct connection to the Therme is very convenient. The best breakfast buffet possible! Following relates to the hotel Bellvedere (sister hotel), where we were transferred: the style of furniture and decoration is all messed up and confusing and to the large extent outdated. The „art“ exhibition in the corridors shall really be removed - it’s downgrading the experience. It’s a fantastic piece of architecture that was massively scarred by the lack of direction and taste.
- Stephan (9/5): Superb -
- Collin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephan (9/5): Superb -

- Kulchitskiy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucie (8/5): Very good - very nice hotel with direct access to the thermal bath. really nice breakfast. 10 minutes walk from the station and cable car restaurant really really expensive in the hotel itself.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Mahsa (10/5): Exceptional - location, interior design, cleanliness of the room, everything was fantastic!
- Raffaella (9/5): Superb -
- Dion (8/5): A mixed bag of experiences and not all wonderful.... - The review is not so much about this hotel but about the Belvedere as there were not enough guests so I was relocated. A pity as there were reasons why I choose the other hotel. What I liked nevertheless was the bar area and the balcony I could sit on in the afternoon feeling the warm sun on my face in November. Also the offer to use the nearby Spa facility was welcomed. What needs improvement is the area where some guests get served dinner and breakfast. This place has an amazing area wood panelled where one can eat. However for some reason some guests were placed in the other area. This is a depressing area with no colour or way to make you feel welcomed. There are four of five pillars with rose glitter type stone. Next to that service needs training. It cannot be one needs to wait 25 min before even someone arrives and then another 20 min to notice food has not arrived. Finally what killed it completely is tables were being cleared while guests were still eating as plates for breakfast were already being put in place. A non-go and something that will most likely deter me from at least having dinner there again. However if the decision would be made to extend the wood panelling into this area: do something about the pillars: bring in proper staff that is customer oriented and finally also do away with the fake Ikea plants who knows.....
- Claudia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caylee (9/5): Superb - I decided to stay at Engadiner Boutique-Hotel GuardaVal because I knew this place from the past and I really like it. The Hotel is located very well and the building is connected with the Spa via "tunnel". The staff is always extremely helpful. If you want to be sure about parking better to ask for a garage, especially during the season.
- Alexandria (10/5): perfect weekend getaway 🤩 - it was absolutely amazing 🤩
- Frederique (10/5): Definitely a place to come back to. - Free access to local thermal bad.
Design of bedrooms. Food was a bit too salty although excellent still!!
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abbott (10/5): Swiss quality with grace and space - The interiors are beautiful and the hotel is perfectly located halfway between the main ski lift and the thermal bath/center of town. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful, the sauna area generous.
We stayed in Room 20, a compact 3-level suite-let with the advantage of a bedroom that has no other function. It comes complete with a key from the 18th century!
This is a really good hotel.
