- Brian (10/5): - Small 12 room resort with beautiful bungalows and great views of the pinnacles of El Nido. Gorgeous sunsets! Staff were extremely attentive, dining options were great and several other restaurants available right from our beach that were great culinary options. A quick tricycle trip for $2.50CDN gets you into the town of El Nido with some shopping and restaurant options as well as great dive shops. Rooms were beautiful but bed was very hard. Thanks to Joel for treating us like family.

The restaurant offers excellent food overlooking the beach and the islands in the bay. The staff is exceptionally helpful in arranging boot tours etc.

- Kara (10/5): Great stay, definitely recommend - Overall a great stay at Mahogany. The staff are super friendly and accommodating - a must-have for me when travelling. The food was tasty, especially breakfast! The pool is as pictured, as are the rooms. My room was clean and the A/C functioned well. Some things are a little bit dated, but still very functional and well kept. The bed was comfy too. My only complaint is the flies, ants, and mosquitos. I kept them out of my room pretty well except for a couple of pesky mosquitos. I know this is fairly unavoidable in this climate, but would be helpful to provide mosquito repellent and some methods of keeping the flies at bay, especially when eating. However, didn't detract from the quality of my stay!

I can’t praise the general manager enough! He’s awesome!! The food that is served the is delicious. There are also other restaurants within walking distance if your tastebuds are craving something else. I definitely want to teturn some day!

- Hunor-Chris (8/5): Generally very nice but improvements needed - A lovely beach resort with a lot of lush vegetation and some cozy bungalows. We had a problem with our front door lock and the staff first seemed to have cared very little. The WiFi was of the poorest quality of all 3 resorts we have stayed at during our time in El Nido. The property is surrounded by some great restaurants but the dining options onsite are quite limited. It could do better with a bit more attention to details!

Caesar salad lacked flavour and dressing , the croutons were like soft bread. My wife could not eat it.Grilled fish is great. Front staff are great.. But the sunsets from the bar are one of the best in El Nido!

- VU MY LINH (6/5): - The bar/restaurant sitting area is great. Beautiful sunset view. Food and drinks are decent. Service is not the most professional but the staff are friendly and kind. The bungalow is private, clean, spacious with a large porch. Wifi is weak sometimes but ok overall. However the shower is very weak. The towels have stains and holes. The toilet is easily clogged (no, we didn’t do anything drastic). Many leaflets in the room about services that they can charge extra for, but not a single one about how to use the room, wifi or how to use the safe etc.
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect location - We stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of November. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that we'd been allocated cottage number 1 which was closest to the beach. The location was perfect, right on the beach with stunning views of the sunsets. We ordered breakfast to our room 2 out of the 3 days which we ate on the terrace, just perfect. The cottage was very clean and the staff were helpful

- Bruce (8/5): - Overall had a nice time! The staff was friendly and our room was nice and cozy as well as super spacious. It also had the best shower I’ve had so far at the hotels I’ve stayed at. We had our own little porch and were close to the pool and quite close to a beach area. The breakfast was pretty good. My main complaints are the following: the Wi-Fi was quite slow and overall very unreliable, the floors seemed a bit dusty and not as clean, and the electricity randomly went out about 2-3 times overnight (fortunately, it was only for a few minutes each time and the power remained on for the rest of the day.) All the staff members we interacted with were quite friendly and super helpful. I would probably stay here again if I’m back in the area.

Set up island hopping through the resort and came to find out that we needed to bring water shoes as it is very rocky in some areas, mask/snorkel which was not told ahead by the resort when asked. We had to take tricycles back and forth on our expense. Food is ok minus. The good thing was the customer service from the front desk guy. He was very nice.

Restroom included a bidet which is always a plus for me. Parking access during my visit was not available due to the road leading to the hotel being repaired. Parking space inside was a bit small in the event if the place is fully booked. Overall, had a great time at the hotel. Try the Bella Vita pizza place nearby. They have great pizza

- Imelda (2/5): - Angie the frontdesk lady has no customer service manners at alll. If she did not like what she hears, her standard response started with “ NO MAAM”. Very poor coommunication skills. We rented 3 cottages that could accomodate 8 total; there were 7 of us and pee-paid prior to arrival. At check-in wewere told by Ms Angie that an extra person will cost P150 a night. The place does not provide a statement of what you paid at check-in and what is payable at check-out. No receipts are issued for financial transactions either, ie tours, transpo & hotel stay. So at check-out without a statement issued at check-in and the poor communication of Ms Angie, we were given a surprise news that we owe a balance P5k for lodging. Again by word no statement provided. It apparently cost for 3rd person in bench-like setting that they consider a bed, an outrageous additional amount of P1,500 per night. We rented 3 cottages all with non-working door locking mechanism. The Deluxe Room that sleeps 3 was not allowed to have 3 but the Seaview Cottage was allowed; both have the same floor plan except one has a view. At check-out, food charges were being billed to us that we never incurred. The facility location is nice but the quality of sheets, towels, are very old/thin/overly used. The bathroom has no door nor even a shower curtain for privacy. The most disappointing was Ms Angie’s attitude of unwilling to first listen to the customer and interrupting with a “NO MAAM”.

- Nairu (10/5): Excellent Choice for Good Price - I chose this place due to the excellent reviews and those photos were difficult to pass on. The price was amazing per night and only CAD$170 for upgraded seaview bungalow during mid May. Service was amazing as well, pool was usually vacant so took advantage of using the whole facility to myself in the mornings. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would stay there again as it gave you a tropical holiday paradise vacation feeling with the pool, beach and individual bungalows.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent place to stay while in El Nido, nestled in the trees and steps from the active beach where many tours depart from, and the best views of the sunset, with scenic boats and mountains framing the scene. The hotel bar/restaurant was excellent and the staff super friendly. We only stayed one night, and wanted to extend our trip so badly just to spend one more day here. Our only criticism is that our room A/C was a little noisy, so we used the ceiling fan instead, which didn't keep us as cool while we slept. Otherwise, we actually loved our room and the layout, and especially the amazing covered deck where breakfast was brought to us. We really loved this place and it will be one of the first places we come back to.

I stayed in cabin 3 that had a bat that lived on the ceiling and every morning I would have bat droppings outside the entryway. The staff was great! The owner was really nice. The food in the morning wasn’t cooked all the way. For example the cranes and pancakes were very doughy. Those were my only takeaways from this place.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - A unique and quiet place to stay when you are in El Nido. The resort itself is near the town yet you can feel you are in a different place when you arrive at the hotel itself. You can easily get to town either by tricycle or renting a motorcycle next to the hotel. I like that they have separate units for each guests and that there's a beach in front with a beautiful sunset view, though i don't recommend swimming. We stayed here for 5 days and 5 nights in a villa unit and i have no major complains just minor bumps, rooms were spacious, clean and beautiful, the staff were awesome and friendly, although we were not given our welcome drinks upon arrival (I did ask about it, but i forgot to follow up, that's why we never got it), food was also good but they offer limited choices during breakfast, for me i was stuck eating either tocino or longanisa for 5 breakfast. the swimming pool was ok, just the right size and it doesn't get crowded. The minor bump i would like to point out was the main door in our unit it was heavy and so difficult to operate(especially locking the door), at one point while we were eating our breakfast one of the staff told us we left our room open when we did a tour the other day and they were curious why we didn't lock the door, we then ask the staff to show us how to lock the door and to our surprise the lock itself was broken and they have send someone to fix the door. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this resort and we would love to stay here again.

Away from the busy town proper but easy 5 mins tricycle ride. Walk out to main road to lots of little shops and places to eat. There were lots of mosquitoes but management sprayed our room. They also provided mosquito repellent that you light up for your patio. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and clean! I would definitely stay here again. There is no restaurant on the property but they do serve breakfast each morning. The positive side of having no restaurant at the hotel is that it forces you to get out and explore more of what beautiful El Nido has to offer!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice resort, but still under construction - The resort is very nice - lovely bungalows and nice pool area. It's in a good lcoation, on the beach and near several restaurants. There is no restaurant on site, but they serve breakfast on the veranda. However, the resort is still under construction - there is no spa (though they can organise for a masseuse to come to your room) and there was quite a lot of construction noise during our stay. Service needs some improvement - we received no help with organising boat trips, confirming travel plans etc - we were just advised to go into town and organise it ourselves. Hopefully in the future there will be some snacks or drinks served by the pool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed there for 5 nights and we were really delighted being there. Great location - amaizing sunsets every evening, tasty breakfast at the cottage’s terrace. Stuff was helpful with everything. We booked 3 boat trips from hotel desk - were amaizing. Beach next to the hotel isn’t best for swiming but 10-15 min walk you can find lovely place for that. They have 8 rooms in total, so is not too busy even if fully booked. If will have a chance to come back to El Nido would stay here again.
- César (10/5): - Perfect grounds and location. Mahogany is a haven from the madness of town yet really close by and accessible. Excellent staff and delicious breakfast served in your room. Excellent choices for dining out very close by. Really helpful staff for boat tours as well. A really awesome place in many ways. Highly recommended.
- Jade (10/5): Our favourite hotel in El Nido - paradise - Absolutely wonderful place, I couldn't recommend here enough! Peaceful locations, lovely staff, gorgeous breakfast and rooms - this place is a dream!
- Jeremy (8/5): A great, small property with character! - Overall we enjoyed our stay at Mahogany Beach! The employees were great, the accommodations very nice, and the property extremely clean. They are in the middle of some construction during the day but it didn’t distract from our visit. We are excited to return to El Nido!
