- leonah38 (10/5): Exceeded my Expectations! - The Excellence delivered. After Hurricane Melissa, the Excellence came roaring back serving the best hospitality and exceptional service. We were extremely appreciative of everyone returning to provide such hospitality during such a tough time recovering. The turn-around on the restoration and fresh lick of paint made the place feel like new. The service was world class. A special shout-out to the following: Shane, Restaurant Manager: Outstanding hospitality. Extremely warm with guests. Felt like VIP around Shane every time we passed. Dwayne, Lifeguard: Always gave a warm greeting whether you were walking past or at the jerk hut. Aaron: Understandably the choice to keep at Front of House to make great first impressions on the arrival tour. Still unforgettable to this day how charming and professional Aaron is. Richardo: Richardo looked after us at The Grill and Chez Isabelle and went above & beyond to make us feel comfortable throughout the services even when we were served by others on various nights. Anna-Kay: Anna-Kay provided an energetic boost every time we entered any restaurant and is worthy to be the hostess with the mostest. Nickeba was super attentive at Aroma and always remembered our Cortado coffee order We will most definitely return.
- jessicajG542NM (10/5): Excellent 10/10 every time we go! - This was our second time staying at this resort. The atmosphere, the food, the entertainment is always a 10/10. It is extremely clean and updated. The pool and wait staff was amazing. Eric, the bartender, would sing us songs as he made us drinks. Jordanique, Tomayo, and Martin sat and talked to us and made sure we were having a great time. Latifa served us daily and made us feel so special. We will 100% be going back because this resort is consistent and the people are top notch.
- Borey (8/5): Excellence Oyster Bay - We were thrilled with Magna and Zenith restaurants—very sophisticated cuisine and excellent service. Other restaurants were also very good, and the alcohol selection was top shelf. The grounds, while they suffered from the recent hurricane, are beautifully maintained. The suites are spacious and clean. Our only complaint is lack of nighttime entertainment—there is really nothing going on, and whatever is there is not publicized.
- Brandy48C (6/5): Excelkence Oyster Bay. January 2026 visit - The accommodations are beautiful and immaculate and the staff are wonderful. We were very disappointed with the food (quality, portion size, selection, eg no tropical/exotic fruits—maybe because of recent hurricane?), the hot tub/spa by the outdoor pools were not hot despite several requests to staff and our group (of 24 couples, who all decided to come despite the recent hurricane because Excellence Oyster Bay insisted that they were fully operational) were supposed to have adjacent rooms/rooms in the same building but were spread out among several buildings. Also, many of the restaurants were closed 3 or more days, limiting options. Our closest friends and us reserved adjacent rooms and the registration staff said they could not accommodate us despite the fact that the hotel appears to be only about 20% full.
- davemachemer (10/5): "Best Family Vacation" - Our adult son wanted to plan our "last family vacation" to be the "best one ever" and chose Excellence Oyster Bay. (I don't really know "Value for money" because our son kept the cost from me knowing it would spoil my enjoyment! Smart kid!!) The resort grounds were gorgeous (nestled at the end of its own peninsula) - especially considering the devastating hurricane 2 months earlier! One private club pool was under repairs/upgrade, but otherwise the resort was fully back in business. Food and drinks were excellent and far more than we could fully enjoy! Staff were very friendly and good at what they did. If I had to think of negatives, it would be very difficult....but one steak at The Grill was over-cooked and under-seared and took over an hour to prepare. The extras at the spa were excessively expensive ($65 for sunburn lotion massage) - if they had been $30-40, we would have chosen them. Otherwise, everything was great - best vacation ever! I will never forget it and would definitely recommend!

The trip was made more amazing by staff members such as Mr. Haslam ( food and beverage guest relations manager). He really went above and beyond to ensure that we felt special and that we were celebrating something very special. I would definitely recommend this resort based on my experience. We will be back! Our stay at the resort was the most relaxing time we've had in a long time. This all-inclusive resort has some of the best cuisine we've had, and the service was impeccable. We had amazing food and drinks, awesome snorkeling experience with Captain Pete, and so much fun during the late night musical events! They are committed to making the resort back up to their high standards and we were happy to see how hard they were working on the last repairs and maintenance, you can tell they had been working so hard to get everything looking shipshape! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, we truly felt at home, which is the first thing they said to us when we arrived "welcome home"! We loved the special attention we got for our honeymoon and birthday too! We definitely will be back!

- Navigate27482062709 (10/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The People Make This Place - We stayed at Excellence Oyster Bay and arrived on the very first day the island reopened to tourists after Hurricane Melissa. You could tell the staff was hurting—but what stood out most was how positive, resilient, and genuinely happy they were to welcome guests back. The warmth and heart of this resort truly come from its people. So many staff members went above and beyond: • Dwayne, the head lifeguard, was incredibly warm and funny and somehow always remembered our names. • Rick and Tomato brought the party to the main pool—absolutely hilarious and a joy to be around. • Brandon at the Excellence Beach Club near Cielo Bar was always smiling, attentive, and eager to help. • Rodney and Taysean at the Magna Excellence Bar made fantastic drinks, offered great conversation, and gave excellent recommendations. • Jaime at the gym helped me load and unload my bar, offered helpful tips, and gave constant encouragement. • Audrey and Deago at the spa made my husband and me feel completely relaxed and cared for—so genuine and kind. • Top Chef Tashauna at hibachi was hands down the funniest person on the island. Her jokes were nonstop and her cooking was just as amazing. • Kevaun and Antoinette at Magna clearly loved working together, and their energy made every visit fun. • Ricardo, Alecia, and Marshalee at Zenith were such a fun group and had us laughing nonstop. We truly enjoyed getting to know them. • And finally, Triss Anne at the Excellence Club front desk helped resolve a small return-ride booking issue at check-in. When we felt our concern was being overlooked, she truly made us feel seen. She handled everything quickly, kindly, and without judgment—turning what could have been a stressful last day into a completely smooth one. This trip reminded us that luxury isn’t just about the setting—it’s about the people. We are incredibly grateful for every staff member who showed up with kindness, humor, and heart during a challenging time. We can’t wait to return.
- madisonsQ5325TR (2/5): Disappointing Customer Service - I have stayed at an Excellence Resort in the past as well as many other luxury resorts, and I have never experienced customer service this poor. My experience with Excellence Oyster Bay was by far the worst I have ever encountered. I booked my stay prior to hurricane Melissa impacting the resort, and when I attempted to contact Excellence’s corporate number to discuss the possibility of rescheduling due to uncertainty of the resort reopening the experience became an absolute nightmare. I was repeatedly bounced between agents and given different phone numbers, many of which did not work. I was put on hold twice with the call miraculously disconnecting while communicating with representatives. There was no clear communication, and no sense of urgency or care considering the inability to confirm travel plans due to the natural disaster. I felt completely dismissed throughout the entire process. Finally upon speaking with Adam from Excellence’s customer service team he was able to successfully reach out to the resort to try to reschedule, however Excellence Oyster Bay said nothing would be done and I will lose the thousands of dollars I paid them. This experience has been horrendous and has permanently damaged my perception of the Excellence brand. Luxury pricing should come with reliable and compassionate customer service. Unfortunately, Excellence really disappointed me.

- 450selame (2/5): Disappointing and unexpected - I’ve stayed with Excellence Resorts for years, and this was the most disappointing experience I’ve had. I visited Excellence Oyster Bay expecting the same standard I’ve always received at their other properties, but the stay fell short from the start. I requested a room with two beds and confirmed it twice before my trip. After waiting about four hours for the room to be ready, I was given a room with one bed and told the only option was a daybed. The response from the front desk felt dismissive. Things got worse when I used my blue light flashlight and found multiple stains on the bedding. Housekeeping had to change the sheets twice. At a resort of this level, this should never happen. The Excellence Club was also disappointing. The walkway was slippery and not cleaned, and the decking had broken areas. No one greeted us when we arrived, and service was almost nonexistent. The food during my stay wasn’t great either. The lamb I ordered was tough and undercooked, and overall the dining options were not what I’ve experienced at other Excellence properties. Several hallway lights were out around the property, and the grounds didn’t feel well-maintained. It also felt understaffed, and the usual attention to detail wasn’t there. I sent videos and photos to corporate. They apologized, but their follow-up did not reflect the seriousness of the issues. They offered the same upgrade that was already given to me at the property, which didn’t feel like a real resolution. I still haven’t been able to get my loyalty points corrected, even though I’ve emailed several times. As someone who has stayed with Excellence regularly since 2020, it’s frustrating that a brand known for service won’t respond. I already have another trip booked for my birthday, but now I’m unsure if I’ll continue staying with Excellence. I’ve always loved this brand, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope they address these issues, because Excellence Oyster Bay did not reflect the standard I know they can deliver.
- F6622OHkarenb (2/5): Hurricane made this resort unkind - We booked an amazing trip early October to this resort and spent 4k for 5 nights. Hurricane Melissa hit and the resort closed. Our reservation made through Expedia was non refundable. Both Expedia and myself tried multiple times to contact the resort to request a refund no one from the resort responded. I spoke to their live agent online and the final response was we are not able to help you. It has been two weeks with zero response. Our airlines refunded but this resort decided to take our money. They did not even offer a credit for a future stay. Other resorts in the area offered their guests refunds or allowed them to come another time. Also the fact they did not return any of Expedia’s requests is not good for their business. I hope no one else has had a similar experience.
- Z7641ENjohnj (10/5): My home from home. - Every where you go we have people complaining about their stay at other resorts, though the hotel went through a category 5 hurricane, the heart of the people is what moved me. My wife and I were not scared at all as we were surrounded by people who really cares all the wanted to know if we were okay. Some people lost their homes while trying to give us their all. I truly commend this company. A safe place to sleep, hot meals throughout the storm what more could you ask for? This place will forever be apart of me. Thank you all , you couldn’t have asked for a better team at this resort. To all the staff that ensured we were closed inside the doors were barred in with ply boards and immediately after the storm they started cleaning up. I appreciate you. Job well done
- ChillyWillyPa (6/5): Would Go Back Someday - Warning, super long review! tl:dr version: 5 star location and property, 4 star service/food, 3 star overall rating (but still 4.5 star overall vacation experience). We stayed at Excellence Oyster Bay the last week of September, which is our favorite time to travel to the Caribbean (warm water, low occupancy). This was our first trip to this resort, but we’ve been traveling to Caribbean all-inclusives for 25 years. We have some prior experiences with Excellence resorts at their Playa Mujeres location (EPM). We had a great vacation, but I have to downgrade the star rating a few notches, which I will explain. This resort has been described and reviewed thousands of times. I’ll provide my list of pros (✅) and cons (❌). - The location is perfect, and property is clean, lush and tropical. It’s on its own peninsula 30 minutes from the airport. There are no outsiders walking on the beach. Only 1 or 2 “boat vendors”, and there is a view of the ocean from every vantage point. You feel a bit more isolated than at a lot of properties in Jamaica, Mexico, DR, etc., which we think is good. There are many varied areas in which to hang out day or night, it was easy to get around, and wifi was good. Two slight negatives – the piped in property music is irritatingly repetitive, and the overall décor (common areas, restaurants, rooms) is bland. (✅✅) - Food was good at every meal. We’re not foodies, but we know what we like. We were able to find food that ranged from pretty good to excellent at every meal. Breakfast buffet was good/typical for this level resort. Lunch was ok, but we felt lunch was the weakest link. Choices were basically a sit-down restaurant, order to poolside/beachside at Zenith/Magna, or the Jerk Hut. Jerk Hut food was good, but honestly this place was kind-of a joke. Lines were long, and choices were VERY limited. Some days no burgers. Some days no buns (?). Never any sides except rice and beans. Chairside orders at Zenith/Magna were nice, but slow. Sit-down service was quicker than we thought it’d be, but they really should have other quick options like a brick oven pizzeria and/or a lunch buffet. Dinners were all good, but it was a slight challenge navigating which menus were being served at which restaurants, and which places were actually open. It was disappointing that Magna was closed during our week, but we ate from their menu at Zenith one night. We did have the romantic beach dinner one night, which was nice and less buggy than we thought. OF NOTE- we were very disappointed that they did NOT have the Jamaican night buffet the week we were there. It was listed on the app, but they canceled it for whatever reason. (✅/❌) - Entertainment, as a whole, was disappointing. We don’t need or want a nightlife party scene, but we like quality entertainment. There was NO daytime entertainment at all, except for the workers trying to drum up pool volleyball or ring-around-the-rosey. Not once was there a singer or a band anywhere near the pool. No bingo or other games. Evening entertainment is ONLY show-related. Pre-show, show, post-show. No guitar player in the martini bar, no violin player outside the restaurants. No outside acts coming in for pre and post dinner entertainment. The shows were pretty bad in general. The house band was ok, but just ok. Silent disco was ok for a few minutes. How about bringing in the Silver Birds? The ONLY show really worth going to was the Bob Marley show, which was excellent. We did entertain ourselves more than once with shuffleboard. (❌❌) - There are several bars, which mostly made strong drinks. Beer selection, like at most AI’s, was lacking, but they did have a few bottles of Dragon Stout floating around, which I appreciated. The martini bar is the “main bar” at night, and the Zenith/Magna bars had an excellent selection of liquor and friendly bartenders. The X-lounge was unfortunately closed all week. Also, the Sports Bar is laughable. What makes it a “sports bar”? It has like 3 TV’s, that’s it. There were 2 video game there, but neither worked. No real sports feel or atmosphere. No atmosphere at all really. And no food?! They need to re-think this, maybe turn it into an English style pub with pub food or something. (✅/❌) - The beach is very long and sandy, and the ocean is very calm here. You can walk for quite a while. Swimming is a little limited here due to the abundance of sea grass. They can’t do anything about this, but it does greatly cut down on where you can actually swim. You can snorkel here, but we didn’t see much. We did see one sting ray close to shore, a starfish, and a few other fish. (✅) - There are a few different pools, and the main pool is big and varied enough to hang out in for a while. Unfortunately the X-pool was closed during our week. The Zenith/Magna pools are nice to look at and take a plunge in, but are too small to be very useful. (✅) - There were a ton of available chairs, umbrellas, palapas, etc. at pretty much any time of day. Not only is there no “towel game” here, but you could sleep in ‘til lunch, and still get a prime spot. The property was only at 60% occupancy, but the beach and pool seating areas looked like ghost towns through a large part of the morning. Sun beds in the Excellence areas had side shades you could pull down – ALL sun beds on property should have this, as it looks a little ghetto to see sun beds with towels hanging down the sides. (✅✅) - The gym was a decent size and fairly well equipped. It’s actually hard to find, and even some of the employees couldn’t direct me to it. (✅) - Service was ok. Bartenders tried, but they were overwhelmed at times, sometimes only having one working at a time. There were a few drink orders that were wrong, and for some reason we still have trouble getting an “original Mudslide” made the right way consistently. Beach and pool service was VERY spotty. Some servers were more interested in flirting with their coworkers than providing good service. You shouldn’t have to chase down a waitress for a drink, or have to continually interrupt your relaxation to walk to the bar at a resort of this level. And it didn’t really matter if it was Excellence club area or not – one of the best beach servers was the older lady at the main beach. Service in the restaurants was generally very good. Room service was slow, and they did get our order wrong more than once. Most of the property employees were friendly and tried to be helpful. (✅/❌) - We stayed in a Beach House, which was probably one of the best “rooms” we’ve ever had on a vacation. We were 1st floor, BH12, which was a perfect location, being closer to the edge of the ocean than literally any other room on the property. Also, we were the closest Beach House to the main pool, main resort, and Zenith – all pluses. The Beach House room was very nice, and laid out well. We had 2x/day maid service every day. We had our own private assigned sun bed, and we were only a few steps from the edge of the water, which allowed for easy access to the ocean and some night swimming. The plunge pool outside was basically useless, as it was freezing due to being in the shade all day. Sorry to say, we really only used it to rinse our feet after coming up to our porch from the beach. We like the Excellence box idea, but unfortunately ours was full of dirty dishes from previous guests. Our mini bar and in-room liquor requests were always filled, and we were very happy with the top shelf liquor bottles we could choose from. We did have a couple small snacks and wine/champagne brought to our room unexpectedly, which was nice. Some weird things in the room – NO night lighting in or around the bathroom, no floor-sheets next to the bed with turndown service, no real place to hang your towel while in the shower (?), and various switches around the room that did nothing. (✅) - Water sports were ok. Free kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and snorkel equipment were available. They had two Hobie Cats, but BOTH were out of order. Sailing Hobies is one of my favorite things at these resorts, so this was very disappointing. Nothing else here. There were snorkeling trips and luminescent lagoon trips, but these were extra $. (✅/❌) - Excellence Club was well worth it. Among the perks was access to the full resort, including the Excellence beach and pool areas. We especially liked Zenith. Sitting on the beach at Zenith made us feel like we were at a boutique hotel on a remote island. It’s rare having that kind of experience at a big modern AI. (✅) - Transfers through Seasons were on-time and professional. Check-in was quick, and the check-in staff was accommodating, trying to make things right for us when our room wasn’t ready until after dinner the first day. The bell staff was also prompt and courteous. (✅) - Pre trip communication with Excellence is AWFUL. We’ve had problems with communications in previous trips, and this was no different. There were problems with our rewards account that were not fixed prior to our trip, despite six emails over six months. Phone calls were useless to address the rewards issue, and we were flat-out lied to by the phone associate regarding which parts of the property would be closed/unavailable during our stay. It’s sad they didn’t fix this issue in all these years. (❌❌) In summary, this was an outstanding, 5-star vacation. The resort loses one star due to the poor pre-trip customer service, and one star due to a few negatives throughout. That being said, the property, setting, and other positives were awesome, and we would definitely not think twice about coming back.

- screwy (10/5): Beautiful Property, Amazing Staff - A Perfect Trip! - I want to start by saying I almost canceled this reservation a number of times, based upon reviews here, on FB, on Reddit. I am so happy we didn't. My husband and I travelled in mid-October (pre-hurricane) to the EOB to celebrate our 20th anniversary; it was our first time in Jamaica and first at an Excellence property. We arrived in Montego Bay and connected immediately with our Mobay rep (the $ for the Mobay service is worth it 100%), who escorted us through the process right up through putting us in a car to the resort. We were in the Club Level Beach House #3 with a plunge pool, overlooking the beach where we'd watch stingrays in the mornings, birds, and the swaying palms. The upgrade to Club level is worth it just for the the extra restaurants, golf cart service when it's pouring (which it does, but only briefly), and concierge. Magna was closed while we were there, so each morning we'd stroll to Zenith on the other side of the resort, about a 10 minute walk. Every EOB employee we saw, from lifeguards to lawn crews, greeted us with a warm smile and a "good morning!". Food was good throughout the resort, nothing amazing, but tasty and plentiful (even for foodies). Standouts were the Hibachi (the only one you need a reservation for), the Jamaican Grove (I dream about that Jerk Pork), and Zenith. If you're a wine person, I suggest bringing your own - there's no good wine that is included, though you can purchase upgraded bottles for an astronomical price. Cocktails at the Excellence Club bars were great, strong, and made fresh. The other bars were good, but the Club ones are standouts. We didn't do any nightly shows except for the Bob Marley tribute, which was 10/10 - absolutely astonishing. The room was lovely, and the beds were comfortable. The plunge pools were nice, but we really didn't use it much. Loved the bed on the balcony for my afternoon naps while listening to the lapping waves. One thing: do not expect any privacy from your partner while in the room - showers are open to viewing with clear glass, and the toilets are in a separate room, but there is not a seal on the door. You can hear everything. For a couple of 20 years, that's not really a big deal, but I imagine some honeymooners may be a little uncomfortable. The absolute highlight of our trip, though, was the staff. Service was efficient, friendly, and overall great. I had heard it would take ages to get anything served at restaurants and room service, but we didn't experience that at all. I have to call out the most amazing server at Zenith, Trecel. She went so above and beyond during our stay, welcoming us in the mornings, chatting about the island, and even surprised us the last day of our stay with local hot sauces that she bought herself after we talked to her about what Jamaicans use at home, as opposed to what they serve at the restaurants. She was so friendly and made us feel so special - thank you so much, Trecel! Dwayne and Ricardo at the Excellence Club were also so helpful and made our trip that much better. Get off the fence and book it. We'll most definitely be back!

From the moment our driver dropped us off at the front entrance to our ride in the “red Rolls-Royce” golf cart, to the Excellence Club Lounge, restaurants, shows, room service, spa, and bars—everything and everyone was simply exceptional. A special thank you to the young lady who noticed I had left my fanny pack containing our passports, credit cards, and cash at the Caribbean restaurant during lunch. She promptly turned it in to security, and they returned it to me while we were dining at the same restaurant later that evening. Her honesty and attentiveness truly exemplify the resort’s commitment to guest care. As this trip was a special occasion to celebrate my husband’s birthday, I also want to express my sincere appreciation to the attendant at the Excellence Club check-in who listened to my feedback regarding our experience at the Lobster House. She kindly shared that she would relay our concerns to the restaurant manager. We didn’t expect a follow-up, so it was a wonderful surprise when Shane called our room and went above and beyond to make our evening extraordinary. Your thoughtful gesture of reserving a table for us at The Grill and arranging for lobster tails to be brought over from the Zenith made all the difference. The lobster tails, steak, and duck sliders were absolutely delicious, and the staff singing “Happy Birthday” to my husband was the perfect finishing touch. While we shared our feedback simply to help improve future guest experiences—and because of the wonderful time we’d previously had in Punta Cana—you and The Grill team far exceeded our expectations. You truly rolled out the red carpet and gave us a night we still talk about to this day. Thank you again to you and the entire staff for creating such a memorable and meaningful experience. We can’t wait to visit Excellence Jamaica again!

From the moment we arrived, we felt completely pampered and cared for by the amazing staff. The food was incredible everywhere we went — we loved every meal! The hibachi dinner with Carlene was such a fun experience full of laughter and great flavors. Be sure to stop by the Martini Bar and say hi to Christopher, who mixes up the most amazing cocktails. Poolside, Shawn and Hyana kept our drinks flowing and our spirits high all day long. Our favorite part of the trip was definitely the pool and entertainment — the perfect combination of fun and relaxation. - nathan941 (8/5): Near Excellence - The staff, property (other than the weeds in the ocean), room, and pools were all great. The food was fine once we figured out what we liked and where to get it. Some of the dishes were not great (should I really be eating lasagna in Jamaica?) but others were surprisingly good. The resort is not close to many attractions so if you don't rent a car, travel to and from the surrounding areas can get expensive. Or, if you just want to chill out at the resort, it's not so bad to be isolated and safe.

The beach was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen - pristine, soft white sand and the most incredible turquoise water. It felt like paradise! The staff were amazing - so funny, warm, and genuinely charismatic, they made us feel completely at home. We stayed in an ocean-view villa, and waking up to that view every morning was magical. The all-inclusive experience was exceptional, from the delicious food and cocktails to the little touches that made every day special. Excellence Oyster Bay really lives up to its name. We left feeling relaxed, spoiled, and already dreaming about coming back!

- H6613VLbenm (6/5): Excellence Oyster Bay--Great Service, Great Food, Hot room for 5 days - Our 5 night stay for our honeymoon was amazing, but for one significant issue. Our room was 85 degrees when we checked in. They fixed it to a small degree that day...But it stayed altogether warm and humid throughout the week, making it very difficult to sleep at night. After calls and visits to the front desk each morning and each afternoon with promises of improvement, nothing was ever done. The room we requested was not the room they gave us (although very similar), not sure why it was switched to a room that clearly had no air conditioning working prior to our arrival, and no attempt was made to move us once the issue was brought to their attention so many times over the course of the week. We were in the Excellence Club Beach House Suites, one of the top rooms they offered, and I would have gladly downgraded to a lower tier room with working air conditioning. No accommodation was ever made but for the continued promise of "we'll check into that and let you know". But they never once responded after promising they would each day. It would have been so simple to just give us a different room--it's the off-season after all, and the resort was not terribly busy....And to add insult to injury, on the final night they offered us a free one-night stay in the future. Like, why didn't you just put us in a different room? All that to say, the service staff was amazing, food was excellent and we really enjoyed the entertainment. Unfortunately, now we need a vacation from our lack-of-sleep vacation because sleeping was so miserable in a hot and humid room!

The property is spread out - lots of pool chairs, palapas, beds, and beach! I would recommend doing the Excellence Club, it's not a lot more in price and the rooms are much nicer! The main pool is large, and the Club pool is a nice size and quiet! Food was delicious and the staff was amazing! We'll be back! We stayed on 7-mile beach the week prior and while it was lovely - this resort and beach was just as nice if not nicer!

- jamessF8273PR (10/5): A Beautiful Resort, Top Notch Service, and Formula 1 Style Transfers for all! - My bride and I just recently returned from a 5-night stay at Excellence Oyster Bay where we were celebrating our 30th anniversary. I found the resort to be well maintained and the staff were super friendly and attentive without being obnoxious. The rooms were rather large, and the bed was comfortable once we asked for a mattress topper to be placed on it. The food was top notch as we tried several of the restaurants while we were there...our favorite being the Lobster House, while we also ate at Chez Isabelle, Spice, and the Grill. My wife visited the Aroma coffee shop daily, which she raved about (plus their milkshakes were pretty good!). Bar service was outstanding as well, with a wide array of beverage options for you to partake. All in, it was a great time...I only have one slight complaint and then a much larger safety related issue. The complaint is the room service food left a lot to be desired. If the food arrived on time, it was luke warm at best. For as good as the restaurants were, it was odd that the room service would be so poor. For the safety concern, the company that Excellence employs to handle the shuttling to and from the airport needs to be seriously reviewed. The only place I have felt less safe was in a taxi in Mexico. Both coming from and going to the airport, the drivers were aggressive, passing vehicles in non-passing zones regardless if oncoming traffic was coming or not, and blatant tail gating (close enough they could have rubbed off any ants that were crawling on the other vehicle). At one point, we were in an 80 km/h speed zone while our driver was north of 120 km/h. I called him out on it, and he just said that there are people that are driving that don't have anywhere to go, so they mess it up for everyone else. Don't know what kind of logic that is...doesn't excuse being 50% over the speed limit, doesn't excuse passing to the point you force oncoming traffic to move to their shoulder so they don't hit you. When we were finally safely at the airport, I looked at my wife and told her she could never complain about my driving again after that. Is this a mark against Excellence Oyster Bay? Absolutely not...it was a wonderful property with great service, beautiful rooms and awesome food. But it is my hope that someone at EOB takes a look at Seasons Transport...that was just unacceptable driving.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the employees are outstanding—friendly too!! We stayed in an Excellence Club room with a private pool on the main level. With this said, it was our anniversary. We told them multiple times and nothing special was done for us. Many had banners on their doors and it looks like a special welcome service per pictures. We didn’t receive any of this. We also didn’t receive any type of turn down service while there. Perhaps this is normal here?? We stayed at Secret’s in Cabo last year and were debating between Secret’s and Excellence in Jamaica. The food was better at Secret’s and the overall construction of the facilities was better. The slip covers on the sofa’s are stained, worn, and too small at Excellence. Our friends stayed in a different room and theirs was the same. While I would stay here again, I think I would stay at Secret’s next time in Jamaica to truly compare the resort’s. Overall, it was an amazing trip and we definitely would stay here again. Little tip—I think they will take care of you better if you book directly through them rather than a third party.

I truly love everything about this resort—the beautiful location, the warm and welcoming staff, and the overall atmosphere of relaxation and luxury. I stayed in a swim-out suite with a private pool, which was perfect for the days I preferred to relax privately rather than visit the beach or main pool. I also enjoyed my Diamond Ritual Massage with Vinnette, who was absolutely amazing, and my facial with Alexis was equally exceptional. The food was delicious, especially at Caribbean Grove and during the Jamaican Night—both the cuisine and entertainment were top-notch. The Excellence Club Lounge team, including Rodney and Kimona, provided excellent service. I also want to recognize Aliciea at the Zenith Bar, and Tyeisha, Keisha, Monique Reid, and Monique Stone at the Cielo Bar—they made every visit enjoyable. The Sports Bar team, Lamar and Cornell, were fantastic, and Simone from Housekeeping kept everything immaculate. I saved the best for last—Shane Haslam, the F&B Guest Relations Manager, went above and beyond to ensure my family was accommodated for all our large party reservations. When I accidentally left my bag at one of the restaurants, Shane personally made sure it was found and returned. His professionalism and care were truly exceptional. A huge thank-you as well to Racquel, the Excellence Concierge Manager, who made our stay even more special as we celebrated two anniversaries and two birthdays. She made every celebration memorable and went above and beyond in every way. To all the staff I interacted with—thank you for your kindness, hospitality, and warmth. If I missed any names, please forgive me. I can’t wait to return to my Excellence family!

The resort itself it large, has nice grounds, and never felt crowded. The food was hit or miss at the restaurants, the breakfast buffet was the best. The pool is nice, always had plenty of seating. I felt like the pool atmosphere was kind of "dead" feeling. The beach is beautiful, always calm. We paddle boarded and did the bike ride which was fun. There are only a few entertainment staff, they work hard, and are amazingly talented young people. Our room was a nice size, clean, but our air conditioning stopped working twice which was annoying. We were compensated with a credit for a future stay. The big disappointment was the liquor....def not what I consider top-shelf. If you walked to the Excellence Club bars (which we were not part of) you could get a higher level of liquor though. Didn't partake in much of the evening shows but did go to Jamaica night which was really nice, great food and a nice production.

The resort is on a peninsula so it's like your own island in a sense. The room was great. A bit dated but very nice. Loved the restaurants. Delisea is our shining star. She did the dinner reservation for my family every night so we didn't have to think about anything. All we had to do was show up. We had alcohol preferences and she did us the honor of personalizing everything for us. She messaged and call us everyday to see if there was anything she could do for us. There should be a raise or a promotion given to this young lady. She is very good at her job. Very thorough. We are forever grateful for her. We really got and felt the value of the Excellence Club.

We did have the green button on for “open” instead of the red but somehow we were overlooked. We got towels right away when I called and management was willing to help. Overall very clean, quiet, good food, and entertainment was nice. Best part was the ocean and the private beach where you didn’t have to worry about leaving your items by your beach chair and walking away. We loved it!!

When you walk in its was not inviting very dark and smelt like mildew. The staff were blah, compared to other restaurants we've stayed at. There was alot of construction going on around our room and property. For our inconveniences they offer us a cabana with a server, although we explained we were there with 16 other people. That would take us away from our party for up to 4 hours. One of the days there our room didn't get cleaned all dayy we had to call them. The esthetics were nice and the food was good, but compared to other places ive stayed in Jamaica the feel of tne people and tne vibe wasnt there. I will stick with Secrets st james.

- kmills6737 (6/5): A Disapointing Experience - This was our 3rd visit to the resort. The main pool is dirty; we never saw it vacuumed once. Lots of sand and dirt on the pool floor and scum accumulating on the top steps when getting in/out of the pool. On 4 days out of 14 our room was not cleaned between 8.30am and when we returned at 4.00 pm. We complained but nothing changed. Mini bar Vodka bottle not replaced on last 3 days of stay. We compained after 1st day and again nothing was done to remedy. I assume this was a deliberate action as soft drinks and eats were replaced. Initial check-in for a club room took over 1 hour. Just what we needed after a 10 hour flight. Not Excellence on this trip for sure. Great staff but no actions being taken when things go wrong. A poor experience and one we will not repeat.

We want privacy, to relax and spend time together and this is the perfect resort for that. We love the beach - long area for walking and exploring, calm for snorkeling and swimming. We’re always happy with the food and restaurants. My husband gets a great massage from Georgia at the spa every year. Everyone at the zenith area is just amazing. Marshalee is great - always checking on us - so sweet and friendly, Alecia comes up with new drinks to surprise my husband. Jamaican Snoop is one of the groundskeepers and keeps our area looking great. Steven and Ricardo just went above and beyond - checking in on us, making sand art towels - they all made us feel so special. It was our 30th anniversary and Princess actually sang to us during dinner on our last night. We do have butlers as part of our room - we don’t want alot but Dontae, Alex, Omar, and Orville checked in on us every day and if we asked for something they made it happen. We can’t wait to come back in February 2026 and see all these great people again.

From my experience the club beach wasn’t that great. Beach area by main pool was the best. Food was the best I’ve had at an all inclusive. Look forward to my next visit.

Bad food, unhappy workers - My wife and I have been going to Jamaica for 20 years, decided to try excellence oyster bay fox six days after the rave reviews, October 2 - 7, 2025 Highly disappointed, airport transfer was not smooth as advertised, sat in club mobay for 1 hour while they tried to find a driver, walked us out to a subcontractor in a Toyota jeep, not the luxury transport that they advertised or promised.. driver was not engaging in conversation at all, not a problem. Hotel check in was smooth and easy, room was great, 2301, great views, large outdoor area, great bar, nice soaking tub outside and jacuzzi in the room, wonderful. It started going down hill from lunch and dinner at caribbean Grove, the first day, the food is not good, oxtail tasted burnt and salty, curry goat salty, ribs, no meat on the bones, more bones than meat, that cut of ribs should have never been accepted from the distributor, crab cake over cooked, grouper dish, no flavor. Second day, breakfast was good, but you can tell some of the staff are not happy with there working environment, no one speaks, if you say hello or good morning, you might get a response, staff moral is extremely low, there're not happy. Second day, had lunch at the jerk hut ?? If it's a jerk hut, jerk the chicken and pork, don't cook it in the kitchen oven, then bring it out, and put it on a flame burner grill and call it jerk, false advertisement, where's the charcoal and flavors. Second night we had dinner at spice, sushi or hibachi, well they cancelled our hibachi, said it was a mistake in the booking, but then ushered in a group of 20 for hibachi, smh.. we sat in the jail like setting, decor is not there.. ordered sushi, combo fried rice was uneatable, tasted like it was cooked in old or burnt oil, sent it right back, sushi was subpar, we left the sushi restaurant and went next door to the steak house, The grill, best meal I had the whole trip, deffinatly go there. Day 3, we decided to try the lobster house, again with the food being over cooked, to salty, no flavors, your not getting a 1lb lobster, but a 4oz tail only. Day 4, we went for fine dinning at Zenith, my wife and I are dressed, Heels, slacks, etc. Zenith is about 1/4 mile from the hotel lobby going out a very long driveway, we get down stairs looking for the golf car driver to take us over, only to be told, guest have to walk, if your not elderly or have a handicap per the manager, lol.. it's 85 -90 degrees, you want guest to walk to dinner, get sweaty on the way there and have dinner, great idea management. Mind you, we had to walk back on the make shift boardwalk, which is in need of repair, women in heels might twist there ankle, boardwalk needs repair its uneven in certain spots, you can't see the spots because it needs more lighting.. We had a spa day set up, but cancelled after all the issues, cancelled spa day 2 days in advance, asked if I could get a receipt, was told I didn't need it.. I didn't trust that answer, I called again to ask for a cancelled receipt, only to be told we tried to reach you to fill out a cancel form.. LIES, no email, no room message, no note on door.. go down there to fill out the form, and the lady goes, OK that's it, lol, I said I need a copy please, this chick goes, do you have a scanner on your phone, lmaooooo, are you serious, you just can't make a copy of what I filled out, ridiculous.. if you dont want to work, stay home. Martinni night bar worker, constantly crotch grabbing and serving drinks, unacceptable. Service workers at the pool no where to be found for a beverage, but can be seen hub knobbing with guest. The moral and work ethic is not there at excellence oyster bay, management take a good look at what's going on, you guys can be great with what you have, but changes are needed. And yes, I am an excellence club member. Great beach, great decor, great views. I will not mention any employee 's name, as I was told by employee 's, if you make a complaint and there name goes on the board, they'll lose there job, I'm not here to get anyone fired, but you applied for the job, the job didn't seek you..

- savbeel04 (10/5): Honeymoon at Excellence Oyster Bay early Oct 2025 - This resort is EXCELLENT! The staff and service are the best part. They go out of their way to make sure you're having the best time. The food was great - we did not get sick once. Do not go expecting 5-star Michelin restaurants - but expect quality food. The pools were amazing, warm, and clean. We constantly saw staff cleaning and maintaining the grounds. The beach was awesome. Not the largest sand at the main beach/pool area, but there are enough loungers and chairs that you can sit in them and then go down to the water and swim. Water is beautiful and warm. Watch out for sea grass - but they do a good job of clearing it in the water and on the beach. Lots of wildlife in the water due to sea grass - but it was cool. Saw sting rays, parrot fish, other small fish, conchs, and sea urchins. We got water shoes, and it helped us walk out further. We loved the Zenith Club beach - the best beach and set up there. Excellence Club was so worth it, but not necessary if you're staying for a short trip. The breakfast buffet was immaculate. Food was great - lots of variety. Healthy options as well. Room service took a while, but we weren't bothered by it - we were on island time. Huge shoutout to the staff who made our trip special. Dwayne (lifeguard), Arthurneil and Junior (Zenith Club pool attendants), Marshalee (Zenith bartender), Martin (main pool entertainer), Shamoy (front desk), Dana and Shanka (Aroma Coffee Shop), Gelda (Zenith hostess), and Junior (Sol bartender). Each of them went above and beyond to make our honeymoon memorable and fun.

- IronRakkasan (10/5): Peace, Privacy, and Great Service at Excellence Oyster Bay Villas - My wife and I both work 60–70 hours a week, so when we travel, our goal is simple — complete relaxation. We look for quiet, easy-to-reach destinations where we can unwind, read, and do as little as possible. Our travel agent and friend, Gene, recommended several great options, and we chose Excellence Oyster Bay specifically for the private Beachfront Villas. Some reviewers say the villas aren’t worth the extra cost, but for us, with only 5–6 days to travel, the convenience of flying out of Philadelphia in the morning and being on the beach by early afternoon made all the difference. We also booked Club Mobay for both arrival and departure — highly recommend. It made the airport experience smooth and stress-free, with fast-track lines, friendly staff, and a comfortable lounge with surprisingly good food and drinks. Our airport transfers through Seasons were equally seamless — reliable, professional, and on time. The villas have their own private check-in and check-out area, which we really appreciated. We were offered Villa 1 or 3, and after looking at both, we chose Villa 1 because the hedges on either side offered more privacy, even though it’s next to Zenith. Villa 5 also looked very private, but it wasn’t available during our stay. The villa itself was comfortable and clean, though not the most modern or high-tech we’ve seen at other resorts. Some areas of the resort (including the villa) had a faint musty smell — likely from Jamaica’s humidity — but it wasn’t overwhelming and we stopped noticing it after a day. The outdoor space was where the villa really shined. The ocean views were beautiful, the plunge pool was perfect for cooling off, and the daybeds were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever used. We didn’t use the hot tub much, but it was warm and clean. Having Zenith close by was convenient for fresh mixed drinks, and we loved that large beach towels were provided daily. The in-room minibar was well-stocked, though we didn’t use the private bartender service since we tend to drink slowly. The included cigars were decent, and the ashtray provided was a nice touch. Room service was inconsistent — sometimes arriving within 20 minutes, other times taking over an hour — but the food always arrived warm and well-prepared. Speaking of food, it was overall good with some standout meals. The breakfast buffet was our favorite — bright, cheerful, and full of fresh, flavorful options. I especially loved the Jamaican dishes that reminded me of Filipino cuisine I grew up with. My wife is vegetarian and always found plenty of options as well. The à la carte restaurants were good but varied in quality; we enjoyed most of our meals, though the Lobster House was our least favorite. At the spa, the staff were lovely and the facility smelled amazing. We skipped hydrotherapy to stay in the sun, but our massages were relaxing and professional. The only minor drawback was faint party music audible in the background while we waited — a small detail, but it broke the spa’s otherwise tranquil atmosphere. The staff overall were wonderful — warm, hard-working, and genuine. Our butlers Dantea, Jason, Orville, and Omar were fantastic and made our stay easy and enjoyable. Housekeeping was consistently excellent, and the pool and grounds crews clearly take pride in their work. We always tip well and highly recommend doing so — not just for your butlers, but also for the behind-the-scenes staff who keep the place running beautifully. We did have one instance where a pool staff member quietly offered us marijuana, but after we politely declined, it was never brought up again. Overall, Excellence Oyster Bay delivered exactly what we needed: peace, privacy, and good service. It reminded us of Secrets Resorts in vibe — calm, scenic, and relaxing without being pretentious. That said, we would only consider returning if we could stay in a villa, as that privacy and outdoor space are central to the experience we value most. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the villas to anyone who values privacy, ocean views, and convenience.

( to each their own ) maybe some of the restaurants could offer different types of food on different days ( instead of raw fish and squid every night )

The ambiance, the food, the staff, even the guest 10/10 minus nothing. Everyone was always ready to carter for us and help us out. The drinks were top notch. I loved loved loved my stay. The jerk hut stole mine and fiancess heart.

We switched 3 rooms during our stay and just gave up… each room had a smell and/or plumbing issue. Also, I don’t know why this property is a VIP access hotel, I did not receive any additional benefits as a platinum member of Expedia.

- michaelwP5758UW (10/5): Jamaica is more than we bargained for - My friends and I came to Jamaica for the first time on our Anniversary school reunion trip. We had a great time. Just the 8 of us and it was amazing. Jamaica is the place to be, the staff were great the restaurants wait time was not an issue, bars were always ready, the room is top tier, the housekeepers are so nice. My groups most memorable time was dining at the Jamaica Night. We met a short guy, he is one of the managers, he walk with a radio but we do not remember his name and he wear glasses. He came by the table and he cleared every plate and refilled our glasses with water because it was really busy. We observed that other managers came by and they left but he stood there and helped. We saw him another night at the Grill and he was so helpful. All of us are managers and that stood out to us. He came by and said hello and didn’t realize it was us. So many people Daily, we understand. He made the team members felt wanted, as the smile with him and worked. I think he has a Muslim last name something like an Islam or Baslom. Whatever it was He stood out, Danisha at the coffee shop and Akaya, they know what we needed. Jamaica for sure we will be back in two years time. Yah man

I am very ecstatic to leave this review and I will definitely be back. Shane is such a heart warming person and he definitely shows me that he paves the way for his team.
