Penny (10/5): - The Beach Hotel is a social enterprise run by the YMCA as an apprenticeship scheme. In light of this we had quite modest expectations for our stay. But these were misplaced - the hotel is spotlessly clean, and run by professional, welcoming staff. The occasion was a large family reunion, and the restaurant served us all with a good simple dinner in an efficient and timely way. Service was excellent. The location opposite the beach is delightful and quite quiet - and very convenient for the West Somerset Railway which is warmly recommended as an arrival route.

Paul (6/5): Incorrect listing information. - The hotel listing did not match the offering provided by the hotel. After a day of driving 300 miles, all I need from a hotel is a restaurant and decent room. The listing did not state the food service stopped at 3pm, which is not ideal for when working away. The downstairs is not setup for guests to lounge and the bar shuts at 9pm. The room was basic and spacious. Bed comfortable but the shower was a bath mixer which was hard to regulate the temperature.

The room was a good size, very comfortable but because of the age of the building it lacks A/C. Opening the window made the room fresh and breezy, but a bit noisy as it looks out onto the main street

Verified traveler (8/5): Totally fine - Pretty basic but had everything you could need. Staff very friendly and keen to help. Bed was a bit creaky and shower was not good (temp and power inconsistent). But very well located near the heritage railway and coast path.
Melanie (10/5): Lovely stay with a cracking view - Beds were very comfy and the food was good. I had an omelette which was delicious with cheese, bacon and mushroom served with an english muffin. Lots of cereal to choose from and croissants.
Clive (10/5): - In a great location, this simple hotel gives good honest service and accommodation, it overlooks the beach and the train station, from which you can travel back in time on a steam train. The town is just down the road and for bigger shops, there are 3 supermarkets 10 minutes walk away. You can walk along the promenade in either direction, and a visit to the harbour is well worth the walk. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, and has tea, coffee and cakes on sale during the day. Overall I think the hotel offers great value for money and a great location from which to enjoy Minehead.

Two down sides, walls were very thin, we could here everything from the room next door; the shower was quite poor, it workshy hold a constant temperature. Staff and breakfast were great.

Robert (10/5): - We went midweek in july 2025. Plenty of on street parking, with a blue badge is free. Nice shopping street, a stones throw from the sea front and beach and the station. For steam trains. Hotel was lovely, renovated, very nicely done. We booked deluxe double, it was very big, really lovely, sea front , perfect. Minehead is close to the moor, short drive up to viewing points. Excellent fish and chips next to the station. Not been to minehead for decades and was pleasantly surprised how nice theyve made it especially the sea front. All dog friendly including the hotel. Would recommend.
Craig (10/5): - The only thing we didn't like about this hotel was the limited parking at the hotel however saying that the nearby local station (tourist train) is free parking between 6pm and 9am so it wasn't a problem and we paid for an additional couple of hours the following morning at a cost of £2.50. Dog friendly though the room was a bit warm. Even with the windows open it was quite quiet outside. Also its at the end of the beach that is also dog friendly. Staff were friendly room pretty large. The shower was excellent good strong flow of hot water. Large pretty good quality all English breakfast. The Hotel is far enough away from the Butlins end that its not too busy.

Bathroom was clean and fresh with a powerful hot shower. Managed to park on site . Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful.

The only problems we had was the WiFi connection never worked and if using the shower water would go everywhere as the curtain provided didn’t seem to stop anything so you had to be a bit careful other than that the staff were very helpful and friendly the breakfast cooked options had a good variety and the hotel was clean and well maintained.

Rooms clean, spacious and with a great view.(Porlock Bay room)Plenty of choice for beverages in the room and we were given fresh milk during check in which we thought was a lovely touch. Breakfast was flavoursome with juices, teas and coffees on offer with cereal and croissants, jam, honey and marmalade.The cooked breakfast was ordered during check in and again tasty. I had a cheese omelette and my husband the fried English. Location also ideal and travel options on hand if you wanted to travel a little bit further. We’d also like to recommend the cinema in town- well worth a visit. We will recommend the hotel to friends and family and will definitely return. Many thanks to all for making our stay so pleasurable.

Chleo (6/5): Decent rooms, poor staff behaviour. - The rooms were decent, however a few stains on the bedding and curtains and black mold on the window edges. Stains on the carpet too. I stayed in the suite and two others stayed in a 2x single bed room. They said the mattresses were hard to sleep on, not soft at all. Additionally, there was an incident downstairs in the lobby, in which we were sorting through our belongings and amongst them were sanitary towels. The receptionist ran off to go around the bar and were whispering and giggling with the bartender girls while looking at our family. Very immature, and made us feel uncomfortable about something that is entirely normal for women. One of my family members was especially affected because they have autism, and the reaction from the staff made them feel embarrassed and very uncomfortable. That was the only really bad part of the experience. The breakfast is decent, hashbrowns were a bit solid and burnt but other than that very good. There was an older woman, a member of staff who was very lovely and helpful towards the end of our stay however, so thank you very much.

Anthony (10/5): - My room had an excellent Seaview and overlooked the West Somerset Railway. Close to the local bus stop. The Bathroom could be improved by installing a grab rail, on the wall about 24" above the bath edge. I found it difficult to to control the shower temperature. The management could consider installing thermostat controlled taps etc. It could also help the environment by usi g less water and energy. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic hotel - The Beach Hotel is virtually on the station platform. To wake up to smell of the steam form the engines. No smoke in your room! They are not noisy as they dont start up early morning or late at night. Every thing is within walking distant or mobility scooter. The Beach hotel has no lift. Rooms are easy to scooter around. The food is fantastic no faults at all. It is run by the YMCA offering homeless people, people with Autism and special needs, they get a chance to earn hospitality skills to enable them to work in the wider places. Such a good place to start a holiday.

Adrian (10/5): Nice hotel - recently done up - This is a great hotel which has clearly had money spent on it recently. Friendly staff , nice rooms and very clean. Very nice soaps etc. Stay here and you wont be disappointed. Only a few small issues warrant constructive criticism...I'm not a fan of ordering my breakfast the night before but I understand why its done this way - clearly the some of the food is pre cooked. Both mornings the sausages were cold despite mentioning it the first morning. Great ingredients just not very consistently served. secondly, the shower.........not sure i got unlucky but it ran from boiling hot to freezing cold and was almost unusable - I suspect he thermostatic mixer tap was just not up to the job. Had a bath instead which was great :-)

Only small gripe was that the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening so we were unable to get a meal (luckily the fish & chip shop over the road was still open).

Steven (10/5): Nice friendly Hotel - Nice Hotel, very comfortable room with a sea view. Bath & Shower was ok. Tea&Coffee making facilities. Had food in the Hotel, it was amazing! I recommend the Muscles in creamy garlic sauce, with garlic bread and fries. Great stay for one night.
Barbara (6/5): - Had very little sleep as there's a very large extractor fan just outside the single glazed window, not very clean. Curtain pole held together with tape bathroom window in a state .
Kevin (8/5): - Generally very good only bad point is the room was quite cold at times as there was no heating on, this was raised with staff but alas nothing changed
Jo (10/5): Would efinitely recommend - Staff all lovely, room was huge and really well equipped. Excellent service and a great menu. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic.
Expedia (8/5): Breakfast - The hotel was nice good location bright sea view room How ever the restaurant wasn't open which we did know about doing our own research and not been told about . The breakfast was limited there wasnt anything for my wife as see doesn't like a cooked breakfast there was only serials no porrage no mussile no fresh fruit . So she had nothing. I had a cooked breakfast with a over cooked fried egg on a slice of toast which made it soggy bacon was fatty mushroom tough. So the second morning we went out to have breakfast which was lovely
Verified traveler (6/5): Good basic hotel - Room was clean and well maintained, unfortunately there was no milk in the room when we went to make our morning cup of team and as we were on the 3rd floor didn't feel like going all the way down to try and find someone to get some.
