Guest Reviews
- Lisa (7/5): Great stay at the igloo hotel. The hotel provided everything we needed and it was a great experience - Lovely spacious areas to relax, free tea and coffee for guests. Clean and private changing rooms.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Suzanne (10/5): An amazing, unique experience. - The who experience was made particularly special due to the exceptional staff who offered advice and help throughout. Nothing was ever too much for them and they went above and beyond to assist , enabling me to feel confident , safe and part of the ‘family’ as a solo traveller .
- Liv (8/5): - Særegent hotell. God mat.
- Bergliot (8/5): Spennende og kjekt sted å overnatte - God servise, gjennomgående hyggelige ansatte, vakkert og fint sted. Flotte skulpturer.
- Laszlo (9/5): Nice and modern hotel with a unique icehotel. - The hotel is in a beautiful location. It has all amenities including a tasty bfast. The icehotel itself has been beautifully made.
The sleeping bags were incredibly comfortable and warm! Regretfully, the icehotel has suffered from the warm days and some heavy rains of the last 2 weeks (but we could still visit and sleep in it).
- Sharon (9/5): -
- Celina Dorena (10/5): Ein Erlebnis wert - - sehr nettes Hotelpersonal/Kellner
- karen (10/5): Once in a life time experience - They were very well equipped for the igloo hotel! From the sleeping bags to the room where you stay before you go to your ice room and the showers in the main building! It was a great experience!
- Balázs79 (9/5): Beautiful Igloo Hotel, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but not for everyone - Very cozy and nice hotel at a beautiful location. The Igloo Hotel part is mind-blowing, so impressive I find hard to describe, the ice sculptures are just epic. Sleeping bags and the reindeer-skin plus mattress will be enough to make you warm. Both the dinner and the breakfast is top-notch, close to a fine-dining experience. The Igloo part of the hotel is not for everyone. It's not about being comfortable, but to have an experience you'll remember for the rest of your life. If you like sleeping in a tent out in nature, it won't be a problem.

- Li (10/5): Fun, beautiful and Luxurious - We loved this igloo hotel. Beautiful and clean. Their ice hotel is so fun to visit. We stayed in one of their igloo room. It was incredible. Service was great. Food was excellent.
- Anita (10/5): - The ice hotel was totally amazing. I had read that this was the best ice hotel it was. Sleeping in the igloo was a brilliant experience. As long as you wear the correct clothing as advised, you are not cold. The Sleeping bag was unbelievably warm. The warm part of the hotel, wow. Warm real fires, great atmosphere, amazing food. Staff were attentive and friendly. Anyone saying they were cold. Obviously, not followed clothing guidance 🙄 for the igloo
- Caroline (10/5): Amazing experience we will always remember - Stunning experience staying at the ice hotel, expensive but completely worth every penny. Staff were excellent and the hotel is clean and warm with incredible views. We were so sad to leave. The ice rooms are surprisingly quiet and I slept really well! Great showers next day and plenty of places to chill when not in the igloo part. Top tip: do not drink too much before bed. And get cozy and stay dry before you go to the igloo part. We had northern lights and so there was a lot of being outside before bed so we took a while to warm up before getting ready for our igloo. Leaving!
The showers were busy in the morning!
- Mera (8/5): Vi koste oss masse - Vi koste seg masse
- Shannon (10/5): If you’re thinking about doing the most igloo hotel, definitely do it. It is cold but they give you Arctic sleeping bags - This was truly a a bucket list trip. The hotel is absolutely amazing. The he igloo Pictures do not do it justice. Extremely talented people put their craft on display. The staff is very friendly and all the culturally experiences are wonderful.

- Anaïs (9/5): -
- Cristina (8/5): - The design of the ice hotel and its rooms together with the ice sculptures are something to behold. Cold! But then that’s to be expected and part of the experience!
- EmanuelPereira (10/5): - Hospitality, Iglo Hotel and designer from Hotel

- Marlene (7/5): - einmalige Erfahrung, Schlafsack super warm.
Meine Erwartung (u.a.
- Iris (9/5): Great experience - Fabulous experience staying at the igloo hotel. We were there in early April and it was unusually warm. We were able to pick our suite. However, due to warm temperatures it was starting to melt, so we stayed in a different one in the end. I was so toasty in the provided sleeping bags. Do pack a swim suit for the morning sauna! We were able to borrow snow shoes free of charge for a nice walk in the area.
Showers are communal, even if you stay in a suite.
- Serdar (9/5): Great experience - Yhe hotel was perfect, all the staff were so helpful and friendly. They made our holiday perfect. İ m not too satisfied with the meal options. İ d prefer beside fine dining and alacarte restaurant , there should be also quick bite options for children. At least quick burger. But anyway all food was great. Yes it is quite expensive but it is worth.
- Myla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Unique and magical. - The interior of the igloo hotel is magical and very unique. It has to be seen, photos only give part of the picture (sorry about the pun) . Sleeping in the Igloo rooms is an experience not really that comfortable. It is a one off that I am glad we did but only once.
- Anette (10/5): Anbefales! - Veldig god service i resepsjonen, hyggelige og blide. God mat og drikke. Flott hotell!
- Kim (10/5): - All facilities were beautiful and staff incredibly professional and friendly. They organized all activities and dining in advance as per our request. A truly 5 star experience all around.
- David (10/5): Superb place to stay with plenty of amenities. Came complete with a brilliant Northern Light show. - Despite being an ice hotel with limited facilities in the ice section. The hotel itself has plenty of options to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is an experience sleeping on ice, and I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay.
The Northern Lights absolutely went off and was the cherry on top of our stay. I shouldn't have kept it a surprise from my wife, she wasn't impressed. In any case after it sunk in, she warmed to the idea, or more so, she chilled out. Pun intended.
- Karry (10/5): Incredible! - The hot cocoa from the main bar!!! And the hot tub was pretty incredible! No bathrooms in the igloo
- Paul (10/5): A once in a lifetime experience - What a magical hotel a truly wonderful experience, we stayed in the Eros suite and it was amazing. The dinner and breakfast in the main hotel was fantastic. We had a great time and an experience we will never forget ❤️
We also got to see the northern lights
- Maya (10/5): Unforgettable experience! - An amazing and unforgettable experience. Loved the sculptures and the lights. The breakfast was great - oh, those Norwegian waffles!❤️ Not a single thing!
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - A once in a lifetime experience with amazing staff and great tours available. 100% recommend.
- Cornelia (10/5): - Super quality nature lodge offering great excursions and experiences.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Selene (10/5): A once in a lifetime experience that we loved so much that we want to repeat! - We loved our stay in the ice hotel. This year's theme was the greek pantheon and the sculptures were gorgeous. We stayed in a suit, which is well worth the upgrade. We did many hikes in the area and enjoyed our time here immensely. The staff were helpful and friendly, the food was exceptional, and both the main hotel and the ice hotel are stunning. The staff even let us know when northern lights were out! Thank you all for such a memorable stay.
- George (8/5): Very good - Great experience. We slept wel. Sleeping bags were warm enough. Breakfest was very good.
- Claire (10/5): One off experience with great food - Great staff, beautiful facilities, delicious food. Sleeping in igloo part obviously cold but sleeping bags and reindeer skins kept us toasty. We did splash out on a carved suite but the regular rooms would have been fun too. Loved getting into the sauna the following morning! We borrowed snowshoes for free which was brilliant and did a couple of the trails through the forest. Really enjoyed an evening meal and then sitting in an upstairs section of the bar with Norwegian whisky 🥃 A bit more room in the storage area to change etc for those of us staying in the ice hotel part
- Bogdan (10/5): A one-of-a-kind hotel with exceptionally welcoming staff and an outstanding restaurant. - The whole experience was as expected - excellent. In addition to the ice facilities there is a whole bunch of "ice free" spots: the top quality restaurant, a cozy big living-room with a fireplace, and some trails outside to have a nice walk. The northern lights we saw was just pleasant addition to all of the above. We would have appreciated either a larger locker than we had for one room (two people) or one locker per person rather than one per room. That was really inconvenient.
- Emilie (8/5): Very good -
- Radovana (10/5): If you are in the area you must try it. Once in a livetime experience… - Amaising expirience- spned the night in the ice room lile an iglu and feeling verry warm all the time. I loved the fact that there is a huge relax area where you can sit, chat and spend time until you are reddy ro go to sleep. Excellent free tea and coffe is a huge bonus
- John (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was excellent exactly what i wanted and beautifully presented, we very much enjoyed the igloo hotel especially with an upgrade to a feature room Making more of the ice bar would be a bonus
- Haydee (10/5): Amazing experience! - The ice hotel was brilliant. Cold and cosy at the same time. Very comfortable and a fantastic experience.
- Telo (8/5): Very good - Staff was so helpful and nice. Very cool experience sleeping in an igloo. Sleeping bags were warm and The ice carvings were amazing! Couldn't go into your room until 8pm and had to share bathrooms. But logistically it makes a lot of sense.
- Ricardo (9/5): Superb - Unique experience Not that comfortable but worth the experience!
- Sarah (10/5): A night at the Ice Hotel, you have to try it once! - Great resort in artic Norway. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant, very cozy common areas, great cocktails at the bar. Also very clean bathroom areas for the ice hotel guests. A night in the ice hotel is something everyone should try once in their lives. It is even more impressive in person than in photos!
- Minkie (8/5): Very good -
- Belle (8/5): Great experience - Loved the igloo hotel and rooms. It was awesome we were able to choose a room and the staff was very pleasant. We were not told about making appointments for the sauna or hot tub, so we missed out on the opportunity to schedule them. We were told they were open 7-10am but that was the only information. We learned from other guests that you can make appointments but by then it was too late for us.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefan (10/5): - .
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Pretty good
- Julia (10/5): - The igloo hotel was amazing! Can't say enough good things about this place. The artistry was amazing. The staff was so nice. They went out of their way to help us multiple times. They even came to tell everyone the northern lights were out. Would definitely recommend and stay there again
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (10/5): Very interesting and won’t soon forget the experience sleeping in a ice igloo room - Very nice staff and very accommodating The sleeping bags for the igloo was too tight for me, although I know they are suppose to be- to keep you warm, I found it too tight and made me sweat and I only lasted 4 hours in the ice room.
- Kaisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sohlenkamp (10/5): extraordinal experience - We had an extraordinary stay in the Ice-Hotel, including a very warm and friendly welcome at the reception. The presented ice-art in the hotel looked so nice that we took plenty of pictures. This year the motto was Greek mythology. For couples, which would like to merry, an ice church was available. I can only recommend having at least a visit to this ice-hotel if you’re not a guest.
The stay overnight in the sleeping bags was warmer than expected. The outside temperature was -15 degrees, inside -4 to -6. With a hat we had no issues to sleep on these reindeer furs. However, we had afterwards reindeer hair on parts of our clothes. By-the-way, all equipment is provided by the hotel.
Before the night we had really good food at the restaurant and a northern light tour. Sleeping at 00:30am we waked up at 07:30. After the night a free sauna visit is possible to warm you up, if necessary. The breakfast was again excellent.
In total this stay was one of our highlight visiting Norway in the winter, which we can highly recommend.
- Patrick (8/5): Stay in the ice hotel - The snow/ice hotel looks like it was constructed in a hurry and not many ice carvings, compared to others in Scandinavia. There were many spots on the ceilings that looked like water had entered and different colors. Small details but not worthy of the price charged.
The main hotel facilities are fantastic and the staff was great!
- Agnieszka (9/5): Superb - Sleeping in the igloo hotel was a great experience The lockers to lock your valuables should be much bigger and there should be an ice bar open for overnight guests
- Ankitesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): A fantastic experience and great staff - Our stay in the ice hotel and meal in Maku was excellent, the staff were so accommodating and friendly Would be nice if there was an aurora alarm awakening by a buzzer in the room like other hotels
- Allyson (10/5): - Our stay was fabulous! We really were warm and cozy in our igloo ice room! Such a unique and memorable experience!
- Mehrbod (10/5): One of the best experiences in the Arctic - That was an amazing experience to sleep there. I enjoyed my time there. The temperature is about-4 to -7. But they provide a sleeping bag which can tolerate till -30. So I felt pretty warm there.
- Erinn (10/5): - The customer service was above and beyond what we expected.
The amenities in the resort were fantastic.
Breakfast selection was phenomenal.
The Ice Igloo was surprisingly comfortable to sleep in - a once in a lifetime experience and worth it.
- PAUL (10/5): Fantasy Experience - Awesome experience! Slept in the ice hotel for two nights and it was some of the best sleep I've had. If I had one criticism, it would be the lack of info on the website explaining how it all works (i.e. you don't get to leave any of your things in the room because they run tours during the day). Small thing though and well worth the expense and travel to do it.
- Jena (7/5): Good - We loved the ice hotel carvings.. It was so unique and beautiful. Definitely worth upgrading to a suite if possible. The breakfast was delicious as well. Several downsides of the hotel include- cost for extra things such as using the hot tub or sauna, also don't recommend the bus driving northern lights tour [very poor forecast and no option to change activities, cancel or try again another day]. We drove around for 2 hours and the guide barely spoke to us.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (9/5): Once in a lifetime experience - Great experience staying in the ice hotel. We stayed in the basic ice rooms since they were much cheaper and you can visit the carved rooms before 8pm. Food was lovely in the Laavu restaurant and breakfast was also very nice. Sleeping bags for the ice hotel were cosy and warm which made for a comfortable sleep. The nicer lobby area with fire is reserved for hotel (rather than ice hotel) guests, so it would have been preferable to be able to choose which area to sit in rather than being constrained to one common lounge area for the ice hotel guests. The staff were friendly, however overall the service was rather slow at the bar and the front desk.
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - One of the most unique hotel experiences I've ever had! Going to be talking about this for a long time.
- Teresa (9/5): I was very glad I had the experience - The igloo part of the hotel was very well done and the breakfast was wonderful. I didn’t like that everything (except breakfast and showers) was an add on including help-yourself coffee.
- Rayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): Experience of a life time! - Unique
- Laila (10/5): Stunning and uncomfortable - It may not come as a surprise that sleeping in an igloo is not overly comfortable. I loved the overall experience, and the ice art is incredible. That said, it was much more comfortable to sleep in the lodge and just visit the ice hotel to admire the art. The staff is super helpful, friendly and sweetly authentic. This is one place that still has soul, does not feel like a corporation.
- Jose (6/5): Only worth it if u Gona sleep in a igloo suit - I only recomend one day here and only for the experience of sleeping in the suites at the Ice hotel. The 2 best rooms are Aladdin and Divine Femenine. The ice hotel is more like a museum everyone can come to look at the suites and nornal rooms beetwen 10 am and 20.00 in the nigth. After that the ice hotel is only for guests sleeping there. Is cold -5 aprox but u will Get very good sleeping bags and pilows. I asked for extra sleeping bag to be more confortable. The system is that the first guests ariving will choose the suit they like. The ice bar is open 4 times a day only 1 hour at the time and you can only choose beetwen one alcohol free lemonade and a vodka with Curaçao the price is 10-12 euro pr shot glass wich are made of ice. We eated at the Lavoo restaurant couse we saw it had betyr review on internet but the food was disappointing. Don’t eat there couse there are many other restaurants near. Massage over rated and u most pay to use the sauna amd jacuzzi if u wana use it the same day u arive,35 euro or person. I have many recomendations more for this hotel. My insta is bcovip I have been in 97 country’s follow me
- Anette (9/5): Superb -
- Graham (10/5): Bucket List stay that did not Disappoint - A bucket list destination that exceeded expectations. Our ‘room’ was in the Igloo hotel, we chose the Aladdin room which was stunning and had orange lighting and amazing ice sculptures including a palm tree, it looked tropical but was still very cold. The facilities in the main (non-ice) hotel were really good with a great bar area and a comfortable lounge with fire and TV. We chose the Maku fine dining restaurant for our evening meal and although expensive the meal was certainly in my top 10 favourite meals, we opted for the 3 course which included reindeer for the main, it was absolutely incredible. The sleeping bags to use in the igloo hotel were great but we still slept in our base layers plus hat and scarf, which you need as it is -5C to -7C in the room. The highlight of the evening was when the staff told us the Northern Lights were present and we took some great photos. We also did the Snowmobilling and the Snowshoeing from the hotel and both were well organised and great fun. The Maku restaurant was next to the bar and although the food was amazing the location didn’t impress. This is not a dislike but you need to be aware that the room in the igloo hotel, although stunning, is just a bed - no bathroom, no wardrobes, we chose the more expensive room and they had a door but the others did not, although you will not be taking anything into the ‘room’ apart from what you sleep in and your shoes. If you need the bathroom during the night you will need to at least put some footwear on and go back to the main building, a short walk outdoors.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was spectacular. We had the chance to view all the suites and they were all incredible. If you can splurge on the suite…do it! The art in the hotel is just incredibly creative and beautiful. All around in incredible!!
- Qu (3/5): Complete disaster - For the unexpected reasons I didn’t go, the hotel doesn’t accept the cancellation and when I massaged the hotel for rescheduling the date, they didn’t respond either. I was nearly 500 pounds plus the 1000 flight tickets a lost. And I have no way to claim it back.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Ice hotel is profoundly beautiful. Such a once in a lifetime experience. Warm enough overnight and hauntingly gorgeous as one of few guests in the ice hotel itself. Breakfast was delicious- tons of local items. Highly recommend. More lounge areas for ice hotel guests would be nice.
- Anonymous (10/5): Amazing experience! - Igloo hotel is amazing! The lodge is super clean and modern. Really friendly staff! Food is amazing too!!! It would be great if there is also body lotion provided in the bathroom.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - The staff were very helpful, especially Margrethe.
- Karthikeyini (8/5): Very good - Incredible breakfast, beautiful location but a little further out from the city centre. Friendly staff, stunning ice hotel and the main house is also very beautiful. I would want to come back in the summer as well! A unique experience - I have no complaints.
