- reedgmi (10/5): Best in town for westerners, and locals too - I chose the 0517 hotel after reading great reviews, and they were not wrong! Starting with the simple things, the location is so convenient being in the part of town nearest the park’s south entrance. You can walk there in ~15 minutes, passing several options for a street food breakfast along the way. There is also a good selection of restaurants for dinner, and a very nice bakery to pick up snacks for the day. The long distance buses arrive at a bus station a few km away, but the hotel will arrange the pickup for you, free of charge. The hotel’s design in the rooms and shared spaces is very modern & clean, in a style appreciated by westerners. The rooms are on the small side, but have everything you need. Leaving the best point until last – the highlight here is the customer service provided by the owner Timo and his staff. 11/10! Nothing is too much trouble, they will help you with everything from trip planning, to organizing local shared taxi to surrounding areas, to storing luggage, or whatever. On both the nights there, I had a long, friendly chat with him and a couple of others over a drink in the evening. Felt more like being his personal guest than being in a hotel. HIGHLY recommended!

Timo was so informative, he helped us navigate an amazing adventure on Mt Huangshan. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and safe and even picked us up from the bus stop when we got off at the wrong one. Enjoy!!
- BillyLindridge (10/5): Location, cost and incredible staff! - Amazing location for visiting Huangshan Mountains. The rooms are unique, cosy and clean. The staff were absolutely incredible and offered to both collect us from the airport and to deliver us to the mountains. They wrote routes on the map and gave brilliant recommendations for what to do during our stay. They went above and beyond to help us with things we didn't even expect they would be able to. Before leaving we sat and had great conversation of tea and beers. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I arrived to the property hungry and with unrelated travel difficulties and the host went out of his way to help me resolve these. Tim also helped me plan my day of hiking the mountain, including a map, planned route and suggestions and he even checked on me to make sure I had made it down the mountain at night. The room was nice, clean and quiet. The mountain’s beauty also exceeded my expectations. This hotel is only about 15 minutes walk up the river to the south entrance. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. The hospitality I received at this hotel reinforces what I have learned that the Chinese people are of the most kind people I have met in the world.

- deanosaur89 (8/5): Great Stay in Tangkou Town - The hotel rooms have a beat layout, are clean and quite comfy. We had a nice big shower, big comfortable bed and a projector! We had a balcony that was underused as it was kind of chilly in December but the heat was enough. The lobby/restaurant/bar area was quite inviting but a little bit drafty. They only turned one overhead heater on at a time and understandably both in the evening. Highlight was how accessible it was and the friendly hotel staff. We were near a bus station that took us to the Huangshan Hot Springs and we were the first stop in Tangkou Town coming back from our Huangshan Mountain hike. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and helped contact the hot springs to make sure our visit there would be hassle free and arranged a ride for us to the bus station where we could buy tickets and get up to Huangshan Mountain. The staff even sat with us for half an hour with a ma top help us plan our hike! The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good and there are quite a few Chinese style restaurants and shops nearby. Get snacks at the supermarkets as the food on the mountain is brought up by hand and can be two to three times the price it is in town. I would also recommend bringing your HDMI adapters to hook up phones or computers to the projector in room.
- Cjs800 (10/5): Great starting point for HuangShan visit - This is perfect place to stay the night before going to Huangshan mountain. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well designed and clean room. Great value for money. The staff speak good enough English and provide good input on how to plan your days up on the mountain. On top of that they have western breakfast!
- Angry_Scampi (10/5): Awesome value for money - We stayed here for two nights in order to visit Emerald Valley and Yellow Mountain. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and arranged a driver for us who we went on to use several times. The location of the hotel is quiet but only a short walk from the restaurants and shops, making it a very convenient base. They have nice décor throughout the rooms and common areas and it was a pleasant space in which to have breakfast and a late-night drink. We have two suggestions: (1) The in-house menu could be a bit more Chinese fusion rather than purely Western (2) The shower area in our room was due for a bit of TLC Overall, the accommodation is outstanding value and the rate is less than half of what we would pay for an equivalent standard in Australia. We would also highly recommend you try their in-house teas - we liked them so much we purchased them to have with the breakfast!
- G9962TYjavierg (10/5): The best starting point to visit the HuangShan. - It is a small hotel, with two handicaps: there is no lift and the food menu quite limited. Anyway our stay was completely satisfactory. They solved and helped us in everything we needed or wanted. I wish every hotel staff would be half as helpful and as fluent in English. The room decoration is minimalist, the bathroom was big, clean and cozy. They can serve food any time of the day and the beers were the cheapest you can get served around. They even offered us to use their washing machine. We reccomend it to young people who want to climb but us, being elder people, found ourselves at home.

- SnowdropLondon (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Perfect for a visit to the Huangshan mountain - This is a fantastic little hotel. It is very modern and wonderfully clean. The hotel is two years old and has lovely fixtures and fittings. Beds are very comfortable and linen and towels are all really nice. There is hot water, a TV and a kettle, some rooms have balconies. The hotel is in the centre of the town in the shadow of the mountain and a short walk from the mountain first bus station that will take you directly to the cable car and ticket office. As many people have said, the very best thing about this hotel is the staff. All staff are really young , energetic and helpful. The real star of course is Timo, who speaks excellent English , he is the manager and not only will he collect you from the bus station on arrival and departure is an expert on the City and more important the mountain tracks. The mountain itself is stunning, it is all paved but is very challenging indeed, 6/7 or 10/11 hour hikes, ,mainly up and down stairs. Exhilarating and Challenging. The hotel has a bar, good coffee, and some food, there are about 50 local restaurants in the town serving great food. This is without doubt a fantastic option for the Town of Tangkou and perfect base for hiking- will be sorry to leave these lovely people.

Timo and his partners run this inn with a great attention to service and detail. - they speak English - they helped me plan my entire entire stay and were helpful with every question I had - the rooms were well equipped, spacious, clean and tastefully decorated, with all needed amenities in the bathroom. - the bar/restaurant has basic "western" food which can be nice after spending a few days eating only Chinese dishes. - if you're travelling alone, their common area is also a good place to relax and socialize - I stayed there before and after spending one night on top of the mountain, leaving my suitcase at the inn. When I came back for my 2nd check in, my luggage was already placed in my room. Again, I highly recommend this hotel to anybody planning a trip to Huangshan Mountain! A lot of luxury hotels don't achieve this level of personalized service.

They gave us a map and walked us through the route in details. We did exactly what they suggested and the hike was great. The room was equipped with everything. Instead of a TV we had a projector installed in our room, it was a nice surprise. The breakfast was okay, there weren’t a lot of people and people were quietly having their breakfast. Very nice atmosphere. I wish they had more food selections but we only stayed one night so that was okay. The overall experience exceeded our expectation. I will definitely stay here again.

Staff were super helpful and spoke good English. Staff was very polite and great customer service. Our room was nice and clean. Shower takes a little to warm up, but otherwise good. Hotel has lots of information and tours, although we didn't try them. Overall I would very much recommend this hotel.

We arrived to the wrong bus station and had difficulties getting a taxi driver to bring us here (was a public holiday from what we could figure out). Thankfully a police man called the hotel and they had someone at the station for us in no time at all. The hotel is beautiful, extremely well designed and well kept. Breakfast was really nice, we tried both western and Chinese. Rooms were amazing, WiFi was fine and common area had a great social feel to it. The staff here were second to none. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a comfortable one. Make sure you talk to them about the Yellow Mountains trekking, their advice was extremely useful when it came time to do the walks! They even gave us a cake, a small gift and made us a fun video after I proposed to my now fiancé on the yellow mountains. Would rate this place higher if I could.
- anderson_csn (10/5): Great inn, great staff and great location. - - Small but hotel/inn with a comfy room and very helpful staff (most spoke english very well). - Room had nice decoration with. attention to detail. - Within walking distance of Dong Ling Bus Station - Good value for the price - Restaurant menu with western food - Accepted credit cards (Visa and Mastercard). - Only downside was that there's not much sound isolation between rooms, so you can hear people moving around the hotel (since it's a small place and the other guest at the time seemed very quiet people, it didn't bother us at all).
- 0wen_reynolds (10/5): Top standard for hiking yellow mountains - Had read good reviews and wasn't disappointed. Upon check in we were given all the information about the hikes around the park drawn on a map. Jenny and the staff there spoke excellent english and went above and beyond. Good clean room, everything you could want really. Top pick!
- Ecoaggie08 (10/5): GEM of a Hotel - This place is awesome! Breakfast (Western or Chinese) every morning, a friendly greeting, and extremely helpful staff with whatever you may want to do. They know this area and the mountain hiking (because, let's be honest, that's what we're all going here for). We have found so much more about this small town, though - Hot Springs, small shops, good food, etc. Lastly, the hotel itself has a movie area with a projector and big screen. So, of you've had a long day, come downstairs, relax, and have a drink while watching a movie. Give this small hotel a shot. You will ABSOLUTELY not be disappointed. I can't thank the staff enough for all their help and hospitality.
- P (10/5): Amazing place! Amazing host! - Amazing stay at the inn. Timo and the lovely friendly woman at the front desk gave us the best experience we have had so far in China! The room was clean, cozy and quiet. His knowledge of Hunagshan Mountain was so helpful to us when planning our trip. When we made mistake and didn't have anywhere to stay and the inn was full Timo found somewhere for us to stay and even dropped us there in his car! TIMO! if you are ever in New Zealand we would love to see you!

- Stephanie (10/5): A little slice of heaven - Absolutely Amazing!!! Prior to my stay I had read other reviews that said how wonderful the hotel is. And they were absolutely right . The owner was responsive to my requests before arriving and arrange transfers to and from the hotel. Check in was simple and easy. I stayed on the second floor and ininstantly fell in love with the design concept. Very modern with cool industrial touches. The bed was comfortable, there was nice selection of movies to watch. The shower spacious and there is wifi through out the hotel. They thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, slippers, kettle in the room, bottled water, mugs, dental kits etc. The hotel is a perfect location to see Yellow Mountain. A short walk to bus stop and you're on a bus to see the moutains or other scenic spots. The breakfast was traditional and delicious. The coffee was pretry good too. Its a MUST stay if you are visitng the area.

- George (10/5): - Very clean comfortable room at the base of Huangshan mountain. Super helpful owner present and helped us arrange our visit up the mountain. Gave us a good map, excellent instructions, and saved us the cost of a guide. If you go up to do any major hiking, you need a good map program installed on your phone. I used two: maps.me and CityMaps2Go and both showed the mountain trails and my location. Owner spoke great English and even invited us to share lunch while we were waiting to go to the bus station. If I could give the service six stars I would.
- Chris (10/5): - We were really happy that we chose to stay here in Tangkou. The staff were really friendly and were helping people who weren't familiar with the area or only spoke English. The hotel is quite new (only 1yr old we've been told) and has a lovely lobby where people spend their evenings/mornings. They were kind enough to help us get to the bus station & offer us a stick. The room was clean & modern. We didn't regret our choice for a second and the price was also great.

- Ralph (10/5): A pleasent stay - We really enjoyed our stay at the 0517 Inn. The hotel is convieniently located. The staff was friendly, spoke English, and provided us with a weath of information about the tourist area. The room was clean and bed was large and comfortable.
- Kira (10/5): - We had an amazing experience at 0517 Inn. The hotel was completely renovated last year (2017) and packed with modern comforts and extremely clean. The value of this hotel is outstanding! For any Westerner (or Chinese), this would be the ideal hotel to stay near Huangshan. The staff was exceptional, always courteous and very helpful. Upon arrival you will get a map and suggestions on how to explore Huangshan in one day or more. Communication in English was very impressive in fact, and my companions who did not speak Mandarin, felt comfortable communicating with two of the senior staff. Access to the hotel can be arranged with the staff prior to arrival. You can grab a taxi or bus from Huangshan bei (north) train station, or you can arrange for personal car service via the hotel for a few dollars more. Since we arrived on the last train for the night, we felt extremely comforted when met by our driver at the train station. I highly recommend staying at 0517 Inn, you will be so happy that you did!
- SEO (2/5): Unexpected hotel stay . - The hotel we booked was out of electricity and water and they transferred us to a different hotel of cheaper price and RMB 10 breakfast only. Very Disappointed.Luckily we called before we reached if not we may have to look for another hotel ourselves.

- M (10/5): One of the best places I've stayed in China. - The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make my trip enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and modern. I would highly recommend this place. Two pieces of information you may need: the hotel is located at: 30.077964, 118.192817 (just copy and paste these into your mapping program) the location on Google and Exedia is a few hundred meters off (the management is trying to fix this). The other is the hotel name is written on the front in Pīnyīn as: "Líng Wǔ Yāo Qī"
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely great service from staff/owner, helpful and accommodating in every way. Very basic breakfast, 2 options, scambled eggs with bacon and toast (Western) or a Chinese version. Simple but good enough to start the day. Very close to restaurants, grocery stores and ATM. 10-15 min walking distance from bus station to the oark entrance. Fantastic value.
