• Noel (10/5): I would recommend this resort to any travelers wanting a beautiful pleasant location. - The rooms are very spacious with a really large bathroom with a bath and all the windows are tinted for privacy, a very Tranquille place so quiet. The staff go out of their way to help you with luggage or any concerns. There was nothing negative about the resort, it was just perfect for a quiet holiday and close enough to the Mae Rim to visit many locations.

We had a bird’s-eye view of the property and the beautiful rice fields around it. The included breakfast has a nice variety and is made with high-quality ingredients. The dinners were delicious, and even our Thai daughter-in-law (who loves to cook) raved about the food! It was excellent value for the money. If you’re tired of cookie-cutter hotels and are looking for a quiet, friendly and relaxing Thai resort, this is the place to stay.

Very nice food and coffee. Be aware that it is remote. To me that was exactly what I wanted but it is a 15 minute or so walk into the main area of Mae Rim. There was a lot of big flies buzzing around the room when I arrived. Can't blame the hotel for that of course! But it wasn't very nice. However the owner gave me some spray and that sorted it out.

Honestly, if you prefer peace and quiet, fresh air, rice paddies instead of concrete, and birdsong to the noise of motorbikes, then this is truly paradise. The rooms are huge and comfortable, the resort restaurant offers authentic northern Thai cuisine, and the staff is helpful. A car is recommended, as the resort is located a bit outside the city, but still only 10 minutes from the Cat Farang Center in Mea Rim.

• Greta (10/5): Exceptional Rice Field Hotel Experience - I loved the environment and the rice fields. I could hear the crickets and frogs loudly and it was a pleasant change from the city. The hotel owner was very welcoming and even provided breakfast earlier because we had to leave for our flight. Nothing, it was a great stay.

Breakfast fresh and delicious, fruits, many teas, breads, cakes and then a choice of 4 cooked options including fried eggs, omelet, bacon. Restaurant open until 7pm serving gorgeous Thai food, reasonably priced. Dogs on site so ensure you are dog friendly! Lovely welcoming family run establishment. Rooms in traditional Thai style, wooden interiors, ample room to stretch out and relax. Beds are Thai firm Dogs are lovely yet they do bark a lot at night which disturbs sleep so take ear plugs.
• Joanna (9/5): - * Incredibly friendly staff (and dogs) that make you feel at home * Spacious and beautiful room * Tranquil location overlooking rice fields, all you hear is birds * It's not a dislike as such, but bear in mind that this is a ~40 minute drive from central Chiang Mai. If you don't have a car or motorbike, finding a bolt / grab can sometimes take a while and get quite pricey. Obviously, that's just a trade-off between convenience and how quiet and spacious it is, and in my opinion it's well worth it

The room was excellent and clean with good quality bedding and robes, everything we needed was in the room. We had great views of the resort and surrounding rice paddies. The restaurant was very nice and the food was delicious . The resident dogs were an absolute delight. We cannot wait until our next visit. Nothing to dislike
• anja (10/5): - Zauberhaftes Resort, ländlich gelegen weitab von Autolärm, ca. 30 min. außerhalb von Chiang Mai mit dem Auto. Genauso etwas haben wir gesucht. :-) Die Gastgeber waren alle mega aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, dass wir noch um 3 Tage verlängert haben. In Mae Rim gibt es alles was man braucht: einen local market, Massage, Supermarkt, Kaffee, Möglichkeiten zum Essen jeder Art… Wer das Großstadtflair und die Abwechslung sucht, ist allerdings im Zentrum von Chiang Mai besser aufgehoben. Vielen Dank für die wunderschöne Zeit im Bantunglom Resort. 🙏

Beautiful, unique rooms with a peaceful view. Rooms were clean and comfortable, we will definitely be back! A hidden gem The only complaint is that the beds were quite squeaky so if you are a light sleeper and move a lot it’s quite loud but otherwise everything was perfect!!
• Maitte (9/5): Beautiful view of the field and mountain, with friendly dogs. - The room is very spacious and comfortable for 2 people, although I was traveling alone. The bathtub is big and comfortable with side handles and head rest. There's both a telephone shower and rain shower which was a pleasant surprised. The room is well equipped with kettle, toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, handsoap, shower cap, toothbrush and conditioner). The hair drier is powerful which is very useful for my type of hair. The bed was firm but comfortable, not the super hard mattresses commonly found in Thailand. The linen is also of hotel quality, cotton sheets and clean. So we're the towels. They offered 2 bottles of water and the fridge had some other drinks like coke, beer, tonic water and canned juice for extra cost. The highlight for me was the view to the fields and mountain. Although the rice crop had just been collected a week before my arrival, it was very nice to still see the green left and the ample field. I spent a lot of time in the balcony and from my room the bathtub also had view to the field and was private to bathe. There's also indoor seating a coffee table and 2 chairs, along with a lounge sofa. The windows of the room are very big and have a non see through layer so people from outside can't see in, adding more to the privacy in all rooms. The owners are very nice and helpful. She took me to buy some oranges and snacks I wanted to have with me. And gave tíos of the area. I enjoyed playing with the dogs and seeing 2 of them run in the rice fields in the morning. The room although clean enough, it could use a thorough spring cleaning. Something like 1 a month clean all the corners and hidden areas. Under the bed, sofa, skirts of the room and bathroom as well as window blinds. Maybe also some mosquito incense could be provided for the balcony. Due to the timing of the year for the rice crop, there was a worker clearing the leftover of the rice afyer cutting which was very early in the morning including weekends. These happened around 6.45 in the morning, before 7am. They didn't stay too long I guess due to the heat, but if one wanted a lay in it was challenging with this. Cleaning was not provided unless asked directly. But if asked they would change towels and give the 2 waters of the day. Bed wasn't done though. The pillow were too hard and the softer one was way too thick.

• Isabel (7/5): Great location for a peaceful break - We felt very welcomed, and everyone was nice, as usual in Thailand. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruits pastries and also other dishes you could opt for. The room was good enough. It felt like it lacked a bit of privacy as all the walls are with glass, but overall we were comfortable. We were happy to have coffee, tea and some snakcs/fruits available throughout the day. We loved having the bikes available to explore the area! The room is a bit dated, with a lot of carved wood in furniture and room structures, and thus feels at the edge of being dusty/dirty, but it's still good enough. The main issue in the room was bathroom cleanliness. It's great to have a bathtub, but it had yellow and grey stains of accumulated dirt/soap in all the edges of drain, handles, etc. We washed/scrubbed well before, and could remove most or it, to feel comfortable to use it. The food at the restaurant is okay. The rest of the facilities are kind of abandoned, so it also felt a bit unfortunate not to have a comfortable chair to use around the pond or the deck. They also have several dogs, they are cute and friendly, one even went on a walk with me once. However, we did not appreciate the strong smell that comes from their sleeping area, which is also just to the table with breakfast and coffee and tea are set. At times it felt not hygienic, that they go everywhere, including the Breakfast area, jump on the chairs where you are eating, etc. One of them also broke our hearts as he is very old and sick. And he can barely move. He also peed next to breakfast area once, not his fault, but it was painful to see him howling around in pain, barely able to walk, and it felt to us like they should take care of him in a more appropriate way. Finally, on a more positive note, the location is fantastic and there are a lot of small restaurants and many cute coffee shops around to explore.

• Peach (7/5): Nice little village just off the main road. Beautiful sunset over the paddies. Nice big bath. A little rundown in places - Beautiful location in nature - nice rooms with a big bath. Seemed a bit messy around the resort - upturned furniture everywhere. Maybe just needs a proper sort out? Wasn’t keen on the owners dogs being around - they seem quite ill and defecating on the floor. I guess it had more homestay vibes?
• Sanna (10/5): Great spot in the middle of the rice fields - A stunning, secluded spot in the middle of the rice fields. It offers great views. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend staying here! Nothing
• Anastasia (8/5): Very good - This hotel is truly magnificent, made in the old Thai style with very beautiful territory. You can enjoy the view of rice fields, pond, very green and serene environment. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. And lying in the hot bath with this view is truly the best experience 😍 The only thing you should definitely take into consideration that it's really far from the center, around 40 min by car. It took us 1.30 hours from the airport to arrive.

• Hannah (10/5): Relaxing in the countryside with incredible food - Our stay at Bantunglom Resort was amazing, truly a highlight of our whole trip! It is such a nice way to escape the chaos of the city and relax in the countryside, without having to travel too far. The food at the restaurant was, without exaggeration, the best food we’ve had in Thailand so far. We were so impressed! The hosts are very kind and supply bikes, I recommend riding bikes out to the rice paddies at sunset, it is magical. There is a beautiful temple to bike to as well. We also liked getting to meet the dogs on the property. It was easy to arrange a Grab car to take us there and back. Almost nothing! Maybe just the beds could be a little softer.
• Whiting (10/5): Presidential rooms a bit far out on the map - The room is fantastic. Gorgeously decorated with wide stunning views of the rice fields beyond. The staff was so friendly and always eager to help with luggage or otherwise. There was an all-day coffee station set up in the lobby. The only bothersome thing was waiting for a grab taxi for pick-up. It became standard that grab drivers were asking for extra in cash to make up for the long distance from the city center.

• Michelle (10/5): Stunning! - Loved our stunning suite! Very comfortable, spacious and the tub with the view was amazing! The staff was really nice and accommodating. We took the bikes that were provided with the accommodation and went to the poopoopaperpark in the area. Would recommend! Even though it is a bit more remote, there is a lot to do in the area. Would recommend watching the sunset over the rice fields, which you can see from the resort. Amazing experience! Nothing.

Staff were friendly and helpful with a very efficient check in and out. The old dogs living in the resort create quite a smell and seemed to use the restaurant toilet floor for their no. 2s.

• David (10/5): Beautiful location - The place is really beautiful surrounded by nature and the enchanting little village. It is ideal to move around by bicycle (which they provide) and not far from Mae Rim and Chiang Mai. The decoration of the room is completely traditional Lanna from North of Thailand. It’s really beautiful and relaxing. The staff are really kind and they made our stay very special. We did not like that we had to leave 😩 but we will come back!!
