• Nina Patton (1/5): Motel Horrible - The location was ideal for my meeting location down town Montgomery. I incorrectly thought the facility would be nice since it is located down town. Mistake! I regret not taking pics. The room had a bad smell, roaches, dingy linen, nasty walls, nasty furnishings, unsavory people just parked in parking lot. I tried spraying the room, wiping everything down with chlorox wipes, but after about an hour I realized I could not stay. So, I booked a room at another hotel and checked out. I told management the room was awful and I couldn't stay. I didn't ask about a refund because there was a sign that read "No Refunds". The manager didn't seem at all shocked that I was checking out an hour after check in. This place is nasty and scary.

• Caithlin (4/5): - The staff were very nice, but it took 45 minutes to check in because they could not find the expedia reservation. The property is very old, the curtains were duct taped to the wall on the sides, the sofa and carpet were kind of sticky. The ice machine also does not work. The bed and bathroom were clean, though, and there was a refridgerator and microwave. It is in a convenient location, but the area is not good. I was nervous the whole time because there was a lot of yelling outside late into the night and derelict people hanging out.

• 448tatumh (10/5): Good Value - Zack was a great host and very accommodating! Check in and out were very fast. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and the Turkey Day Parade. It was close to the highway also, so we were able to continue our trip easily. The motel was very well lit.

When I got home my jewelry chains were missing. I know they were in my bag. I called back and was told they were not left in room.

The rest of the place was rather mediocre. Definitely not the worst place I have been, but missing a few of the typical luxuries.

• Matthew (5/5): My stay at Capitol City Inn in Montgomery, Alabama - Only the location and courteous service. Almost everything imaginable, the room, the bathroom, the lighting, the look of the hotel on your booking.com site is completely different than how it actually looks outside and inside.

The room itself was in a horrible state and not clean in the slightest. I checked in around 11pm and ended up checking out around 3/4am because I couldn't stand the state of the place.

• John (4/5): Not ready for guests - This is written while remembering that the hotel was very inexpensive. The pictures are wildly generous, interior and exterior, hit with some kind of brightness filter. This is a depressed-looking roadside motel right in downtown Montgomery. Very convenient, but sketchy neighborhood. The room they gave me, though, should not have been used. In the bathroom, lots of exposed expanded-foam on the walls, incomplete work in the shower (unscrewed drain caps, dangling finish on the shower head), and most comically, a round toilet seat for an elongated oval toilet. The lighting in the room was very weak, and I had to move furniture around to find places where I was able to read. Most significantly for a modern traveler, though, was a lack of outlets. There was only one counter-level outlet, at the bathroom sink, and it didn't work. I had to unplug the refrigerator for one outlet, and stretch my CPAP plug across the room for another. The bed was comfy, armchairs were really old, the AC was fine. Mostly, though, this room shouldn't have been rented to anyone in this state. I did stay three nights, so I didn't feel unsafe or gross. But they never cleaned the room, the trash or the towels. It was very inexpensive, which made bothering to switch seem like too much hastle, but I wouldn't select it again. I hope it gets better.
