Stephen (8/5): Excellent place to stay for a couple of nights to unwind - Breakfast super full English, freshly cooked and individually served, not a buffet. Limited choice if you don't like traditional fry up, but if do then this really ranks as one of the best. Not much to dislike, just remember it is a simple Country Pub.

Louisa (9/5): Spacious, clean and comfortable home from home. - It was in a convenient location for us to see relatives over Christmas and we already knew the village and pub. There was plenty of room for 3 adults and 2 children (with a Z bed). We were able to prepare a traditional Christmas dinner in the kitchen easily and all fitted around the dining table. It was a bonus having a second shower room and there was a washing machine available. It was literally a few steps to the pub which also has a restaurant and we were able to park our cars in the carpark. The host and his team were friendly and helpful. There aren’t really any complaints. It would have been ‘even better’ if there was a dishwasher and maybe a sofa-bed with extra bedding in the living room but it was fine for our needs. We would definitely stay again.

The only thing I would definitely recommend is putting a mini fridge in the room. The pub was nice and the food was good & not too expensive! It could do with some blackout curtains as it was quite light in the mornings & the noise from the macerators from other rooms in the morning woke me up, but I understand theres not a lot that can be done about that. Otherwise it was a nice stay.

Russell (8/5): An attractive village and position for our tour of eastern Norfolk. The White Lady very welcoming. - Room was very bright, it just had Venetian blinds. Curtains would be better, as facing east in June it was very light, at 5am difficult to sleep in! Restaurant food very good. Bar and restaurant visually a little stark looking. Drapes and or curtains would have softened and quietened the interiors.

Location good for visiting relative in local area I informed hotel that I was disabled but the steep stairs up to the room should have been mentioned as I struggled with them. Room in need of updating and distinct lack of sockets

Natalie (10/5): I had a lovely stay for my step-daughter's wedding on the 6th 😊 - I had buttered toast + jams, bananas + bottles of water for breakfast on 2 days (I overslept 1 morning + had to rush out, so I didn't have breakfast). I was worried about the bed as I usually find the mattress so hard, I struggle to get out of bed as my back is so stiff + sore. Oh but this matress + pillows were absolute bliss + I slept really well 😊 There was a lovely selection of biscuits with the tea/coffee/milk 😋 I didn't use them (as I took my own soap), but there was a basket with small sized soaps and an assortment of items to use when showering, which looked really nice. I was amazed by the opening times of the pub, shorter hours than most of the pubs where I live, but a good idea. We went to get a few bits from the shops but so much was closed as it was Sunday (I still wish our area was like that). It's always people rushing everywhere + stress. Here it is a slower more relaxed pace of life, which is lovely. A hook on the inside of the bathroom door would be handy. The damp patches in the corner of the room next to the wardrobe + in the bathroom above the shower could do with being spruced up a bit. The wooden chair near the window nearly collapsed when I lent on it to reach the socket to charge my phone, that is a hazard in my eyes. These are all so insignificant compared to what I did like though. Taxi's - 4 were phoned before the staff member could get a taxi, the only available times were 10.20 or 11.20am. At least I got one though. Why is it so hard to get a taxi in this area?

Dave (10/5): Exceptional - Like the last time we stayed everything was just right, Dennis and the staff were excellent and as last time the food was spot on, the bed room was spacious and clean, I would recommend the White Lady to anyone that wants a nice quiet friendly place to stay, there will be a 3rd visit at some point this year. Michelle (4/5): Disappointed - Overall the food in the evening was good, our bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and good size. Plenty of toiletries and tea/coffee in our room. Couldn't hear the church bells loud from our room. Parking no problem. Unfortunately there was a small leak from the bath, toilet seat was loose and above the bath a piece of paper from the ceiling was hanging. The whole hotel is looking very tired in desperate need of decoration and maintenance. The garden at the back had pallets and empty beer barrels laying about just generally needs a tidy up. The restaurant is more of a cafe with a redundant bar in the corner, echoes with no atmosphere, could do with table cloths a bit more effort in my opinion. Which is a shame because the food was nice. Breakfast was hit and miss! first day juice available, next not, the table with cereal and toaster was just that, bread in the bags, cereal in jars that obviously aren't replenished regularly. We were offered cooked breakfasts which were fine. Waitressing staff were all friendly but lacking a bit of training and competence. You had to ask rather than be offered. Bar staff friendly. There just didn't seem to be any organisation. We asked for extra pillows and noone seemed to know if there were any and the cupboard they were supposed to be kept in could not be unlocked. We like to kick back and relax after a day out and about and having a wooden headboard meant the extra pillows would have helped. Our first morning at breakfast we were approached to settle our food and bar bill from the previous night. But when we went to settle it they didn't seem to know exactly what we had, this was resolved and paid for. Any hotels we have stayed in previously we have usually settled our bill at the end of our stay. We didn't have a problem paying as we went but it wasn't made clear. Finally we were told that we would have daily maid service, beds made etc unless we said otherwise - which we didn't, this didn't happen at all. I was so hoping I could leave a great review but have to be honest, I think you can only play on the four in a bed award for so long. I feel that in its current state we did not get value for money.

Geoff (8/5): A little remote, access from all sides involved single track lanes, but had a great time - Large, clean and comfortable room. Very large, well appointed bathroom Breakfast was simple, but very nice. Dinner, with the added entertainment of a close up magician, was great value. Food was excellent. Noisy pumps somewhere adjacent to the room, fortunately stopped before bedtime, otherwise sleep would have been a problem. As it turned out, not an issue that disturbed us when it mattered.

Richard (6/5): Pleasant - minimum 2 nights stay, even though they had 2 rooms avaiable on the Friday afternoon that I booked it. Then due to a change in circumstances, we didnt need to stay the second night and the Landlord was most unflexible in even considering refunding the second night or even part of it as a goodwill gesture. I could understand if I had booked it weeks before, but they didnt even have a booking 24h earlier.

Cleaners we're far too loud,also bringing their children into work I feel is a health and safety matter.When we left our room to go out the cleaners child was lying on the stairs with his phone also on the floor, the cleaner was there too,I told her this is not good when we're trying to get down the stairs and she just smiled.We had to step over her child luckily we didn't fall!!!! Over!!!

Gill (9/5): A very clean place to stay with good food and very good value for money - We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived and given our keys. The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, the shower was absolutely wonderful and everything was very clean. Breakfast was cooked very well and there was plenty of it. The staff were friendly and polite and we would thoroughly recommend The White Lady. We were going to have an evening meal in the bar on Thursday evening, but we went somewhere else instead. The reason for this was the offensive and bad language from the men sitting in the bar. We didn't want to sit and listen to that whilst we ate our food. That was a shame as I'm sure the food would have been excellent.
