There were two checking in guests at the time and he was much more personable than the other line. 2. Great beds and nice floors 3. Nice pool 1. Mildew/mold in the shower 2. Air conditioner was dirty and there were dryer sheets blocking the air flow 3. The sliding door did not lock 4. Breakfast, while was a decent continental, ends very early for a Sunday. However when we arrived (955), a server said they would extend for a little while.

- europe1234 (8/5): For a Memorable Wedding - If you are looking for a wedding venue that turns your special occasion into an event to remember you need to consider coming to Interlaken Inn. We hosted an August wedding for 140 people …. the ceremony was by the lake ( a stunning back drop), cocktail hour back at the Inn, dinner and dancing under the tent, and the after party in the Atrium - it’s all there in one spot. At least 100 of our guests stayed on the grounds for two nights, so Friday night we had a robust crowd at the “pizza truck” welcome dinner and then lakeside at the bonfire making s’mores - the bride and groom were thrilled to actually spend time with their friends and family before their wedding day. On Saturday, guests played pickleball, went kayaking on the lake, relaxed poolside, golfed nearby, and explored local quaint towns. There's plenty to do at Interlaken and how fun it is to visit with each other. Again, if this is the vibe you want you will get it here. Things to note: 1. Interlaken Inn provides a wedding planner to coordinate all the details of the weekend and especially on the wedding day. Sarah was on point, thank you Sarah! 2. There are accommodation options, from your standard hotel room to a 2 or 3 bdrm townhouse or a pet friendly room. 3. Don’t worry about weather, there are back up plans for rain and if needed there is AC for the tent area. 4. The wedding tent is gorgeous, the Atrium is spacious for the afterparty, the grounds are perfect for pictures and general atmosphere. 5. Quality of food and presentation a 10. Be sure to check this venue out for your wedding.

- mkrobingsk (6/5): The Basics - I understand the sentimental tone of many reviews. This inn is old school and many folks do not want to see any changes under the guise of improvements. It is clearly a successful wedding venue for this reason and its proximity to top boarding schools will never warrant any competition. My experience was pretty basic. I got the mildew, dim lit vibe. There was no overhead lighting in my second floor room. Thankfully there was additional lighting in the bathroom on a timer and a makeup mirror for proper magnification for those of us craving light. My balcony was screen enclosed with indoor outdoor carpet that has seen better days. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard as a rock. It would have been most helpful upon check in to have been offered some guidance as a first time visitor to the area. I saw many lakes but could never find this resort’s access. The pool, however basic, reminded me of places I used to visit as a child and again this is all part of the charm. Good coffee in the dining room come 7am. Did not dine there but had takeout wings which came with no blue cheese or dipping sauce and were a tad overcooked. Could not find the ice machine but the restaurant kindly provided ice. Again, a little tutorial regarding services would have been helpful but the front desk staff seemed far more interested in their individual agendas and not into guests checking in. Could not find the gym either and understood from website there may have been one? Heavy rains during my stay created massive overflow of the gutters and run off - a bit of TlC to the lovely landscape and some weeding would help the tired appearance. Old school at it’s finest and really no incentive to operate any differently than it has been for many years.

- 558joeh (10/5): Family Reunion - I just completed my family reunion at this resort. We had 41 people ranging in age from 2 to 78. It was great. The resort is well suited for such a event. Great outdoor space with pool, tennis and pickle ball court and a nice common area to play cornhole or any lawn game you desire. Having the lake and bonfire just added to the entertainment. Great weekend.
- AtParallel40 (8/5): Nearby NYC getaway - The mixed reviews posted for the Interlakken Inn made us question whether to book it or not. We took the plunge and I can honestly recommend it. We stayed mid-week Tues-Friday at the main house, which is tastefully decorated, with beautiful artwork, the grounds and the landscaping are groomed to perfection. The chairs by the lake were what we were seeking–a relaxing spot to sit and read. We had dinner at Morgan’s, their restaurant, the first night and last night and it was very good. The room was attractive, very spacious, with balcony, a safe and coffee machine, the bed was comfortable, and the updated bathroom had everything necessary, from all the toiletries to a magnifying mirror, and a good shower. Two tables were in need of some TLC. A little sanding and revarnishing would go a long way. And the lighting is very,very poor. The dim lights by the beds, both turn off or both on, can’t be used individually. For breakfast, coffee and some pastries on a plate .downstairs. hot breakfast is available on weekends. The cafe is a self-serve room with yogurts, croissants, ice-cream etc. and some ham, bacon and sausage sandwiches in a warmer, not my idea of a hot breakfast. We had to go to the Oakhurst diner in Millerton, a seven-minute ride, only to find it is closed on Tuesday and Wed.; ended up at Talk of the Town Deli, acceptable, but not memorable. On Thursday morning at 9:15 a riding lawn mower, started doing its thing outside our room. Couldn’t it be done a little later? If the minor furniture issues and lighting were taken care of and a better breakfast and lunch situation were available, all easily fixed, Interlakken Inn, would go from good to almost excellent. We will return. While we were seating by the lake, Bryan, manager, came to ask about our stay and seems genuinely interested in our feedback. Saving the best for last–the staff. Each and every employee was friendly, efficient, and eager to please.

- 337vf (10/5): A charming venue. Peaceful, quaint, and very pretty. - The Interlaken Inn is a peaceful retreat with genuine hospitality. I stayed in one of the outbuildings which was cozy, clean, and full of charm. Overall it has a bed-and-breakfast feel, but the dining and landscaped grounds bring a touch of luxury. If you like cozy, this is for you. The setting is beautiful, and Lakeville and North Canaan are lovely, quaint towns worth exploring. It’s easy to see why there was a wedding the weekend I stayed. And on that note, do ask in advance, as large venues events can make the grounds a bit busier. ...and while the rooms are charming, sound does travel in older structures. At the end of the day, after the wedding visitors left, it was a really great stay, and was relaxing and peaceful. I look forward to returning and would highly recommend. They have a cottage designated for dogs, which quite welcoming.

We ended up down the street in what was more of a motel, with one queen bed and a twin cot. It was only one night so we were fine, just slightly misleading for over $300.
- Paradise41054252706 (2/5): Awful - Review of the Interlaken Inn Lakeville Ct Last night we had the pleasure of an overnight stay at the Interlaken Inn in Lakeville Ct. It brought back memories of my old group share ski houses in Vermont 50 years ago. Those tiny bathrooms with plastic tiles and a plastic shower curtain liner that clung to my wet nearly 80 year old body in the plastic bathtub. Amenities included a one ounce bottle of body wash, a similar size bottle of shampoo, a very thin cake of Ivory Soap, no bathrobe, no slippers and an eco friendly dribble from both spigots. The light fixtures were bare bulbs of the kind seen on the Soviet submarine in Red October. The headboard featured a cow who reminded me of Daisy of 50’s Borden Milk fame. The bed was a comfortable memory foam platform bed with steel panels enclosing the bare space under the bed. In the middle of the night there was a CRASH! My husband and I jumped thinking that we might be under attack. We were comforted by the noisy neighbors upstairs whose thumping presence made us realize that we had company who might come to the rescue even if they were only one flight up. Henceforth we slept well in our dark dungeon which smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke and mildew dating from the 70’s when everyone smoked. It’s hard to eradicate that scent without knocking the whole building down which is exactly what should have been done long ago. If it wasn’t for the fact that the inn is located adjacent to the Hotchkiss School and no doubt has a land office business for visiting parents of the future leaders of the world on Parents Weekends, this place is where dreams go to die. Don’t even think of honeymooning here and if you do go, bring a scented candle or air freshener and your own sheets. All this splendor for only $350/night!

Many of the facilities mentioned on the website are not available. The restaurant was closed , so no dinner or drinks were available. In the morning their website had mentioned bagels would be available, but there was nothing more than pastries and muffins. The staff are lovely and really try their best. This hotel is not worth $329 on a Sunday night.

- jillpI2616UY (4/5): Lovely Staff, But Room and Price Missed the Mark - We recently stayed here for one night and were grateful for the kindness and warmth of the staff. Everyone we interacted with truly tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and they were lovely throughout. That said, the room itself left a lot to be desired. We booked a dog-friendly room, and while we appreciated being able to bring our pup, the room was quite worn and the floors were not clean. For a final bill of $420 for one night, the overall experience and amenities just didn’t match the price. There was no in-room coffee as advertised, and for this price point, I would have expected small touches like robes, slippers, and a cleaner, more updated space. The hotel clearly has potential and is staffed with great people, but it could benefit from a facelift and more competitive pricing. I truly hope they’re able to make some updates and continue operating, as there’s heart in this place—but for now, the value just isn’t quite there.

We stayed in the Main Building and found the room to be clean and comfortable. The resort is clearly well cared for and the staff are all so friendly and accommodating! We will definitely be back!

When my husband and I choose a place, the Interlaken is always our first choice. We never have to deal with any issues. The rooms always smell wonderfully when we arrive. The refrigerators are cold and ready for all our food. But the best part is how welcoming Kevin and the staff are. 5 stars is not enough for this wonderful place. Thank you so much for another outstanding stay. And to all those that demand clean...this is your place. Look no further.

Whether you’re here for a function, or looking for something to do like ski, boat, fish, hike, car racing at Historic Skip Barbers Lime Rock Race Park or arts and entertainment, the area has got it all and the Interlaken Inn is smack dab in the middle of it! Swimming pool, cycling classes, massage, or fine dining it’s all there on the property!

This resort offers a variety of accommodations ranging from a Victorian mansion, townhouses, a secluded cottage and standard rooms in the Main Building. More than the usual amenities, Interlaken has the natural beauty of the lake where you can fish, swim, canoe, kayak or simply relax and enjoy the view. For golfers, there are a variety of courses available from the old style (1911) Hotchkiss School course, a Seth Raynor/Charles Banks design, to a modern championship course, The Links at Union Vale, less than an hour drive from the Inn. My family recently returned for our 20th consecutive annual visit. We have discovered many historic sites within an hours drive from Dutchess County, NY, to Southwestern Massachusetts. As natives of central New Jersey, we revel in the absence of “rush hour traffic.” The nearby Sharon Playhouse features musicals from June through September. In addition to Morgans in the main building, there are several other excellent local restaurants, wineries and antiquing shops. Kevin and his Interlaken Team are available to assist with any special requests or remedy any problems promptly. On a clear night, you can witness the starry sky, free of city lights, and catch a glance of a meteor shower in mid-August. There is so much that makes Interlaken the place we love to visit each year and depart feeling refreshed and renewed.
- R3805TCbrianm (2/5): Proof you don't need repeat customers to stay in business - The manager at this seedy mildew infested "hotel" was so dismissive and accusatory that I and my family had anything to do with the poor quality of their ancient air conditioners, poorly functioning refrigerator, mildew ridden rooms, dead tree limbs just waiting to fall on a guest, poorly flushing toilets. I could list all the indignities but why bother. Interlaken sucked. Stay away

Our queen bed room was very basic— no carpeting, cheap bedding, towels, and lighting. The bathroom mirror had peeling paint, grouting was in poor condition. plus a hole in floor under toilet, unclean shower. Deadbolt in door inoperable, window curtains cover AC vent causing them to compromise privacy. A maid walked in, without knocking, at 8 am, a repair man was tearing up parking lot outside our door by 8:30. Breakfast is not included for your $300!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and while our room (in the Woodside section) was clean, it was also very tired, bordering on shabby, and in need of redecorating. The food in the restaurant was fine, and again, the staff could not have been nicer, but the property overall has seen better days and could really use a facelift.

The rooms are large, beds comfortable and plenty of hot water. The hotel is older, well maintained and clean. It has a casual vibe and is super comfortable! This is a family owned and operated place and their pride shows. Everyone is friendly and helpful. No service issues at all! The standout is the food. Everything was great! This Inn was a favorite of Paul Newman when he would race near by. I would absolutely come back! BTW, ask if Copper, the house GoldenDoddle is around. He is awesome and loves as many pets as you can spare.

However, this was the second time I stayed in the Woodside building. The room was fine. However, there is no way that I could find to turn off the exterior lighting both in front of and behind my room. It was basically mid-day light in my room all night long. I really wish there were either better/ more "blackout" window treatments or a way to turn the lights off. One front light seemed to be on a sensor, so it would turn off, but then it just would get tripped and turn on again.

The prices are very reasonable for what is offered. I have come to know a lot of the staff and they have all been wonderful and respectful. Any request is met and handled in a timely manner. The rooms are comfortable. The food prepared in Morgan's Restaurant is top notch and plentiful. For groups they have a game room/library, that our team uses in the evenings to unwind. It is relaxing and a great place to just hang out at the end of the day. We look forward to many more team events at Interlaken!

I recently hosted a corporate retreat at the Interlaken for 45 leaders from our business, and unequivocally this was the best venue I’ve ever worked with. There are so many ways a venue can fail to meet your standards – whether it be the quality of the food, meeting spaces, or accommodations, challenges with staff, cost – but Interlaken delivered on all of it. Read the anonymous feedback from just about any corporate event, and you’ll see how divisive food can be for large groups. The reviews from my event unanimously applauded the work of the Interlaken’s talented chef, echoing everyone’s positive feedback at each meal. They were particularly helpful in meeting the dietary needs and restrictions of every colleague we had on-site. Event spaces and property grounds were versatile and beautiful, allowing us to program all sorts of unique engagement opportunities on-site both indoors and out. The team at the Interlaken, from the event planners to the wait staff, were friendly and accommodating of every request we had – without sticking us with a penalty for last minute asks. I felt like their team was part of my team throughout the planning and execution of the event, and they were as invested in my event’s success as I was. If you’re looking to host a corporate event – do yourself a favor and host it at the Interlaken. Your colleagues will all thank you.
