I had to walk with my luggage from a parking lot a block away and don’t even get validated for stay. $65.00 for parking lot that I had to walk to hotel too not worth. Could t even use the parking structure in the parking lot for Hyatt because only spots supposedly available was for valet.

- Claude (10/5): Great place to stay in Washington DC - Staff was professional and courteous, they always asked if we needed anything, if they could help in any way. We were greeted with a smile , Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, rooms were spotless. Breakfast was a plus. Surprisingly good for a free breakfast. The breakfast staff was great. Friendly, welcoming everyone, checking on any needs . Kept the tables clean, food fresh and warm. The only complaint was bar noise from the restaurants below until 2 am. If you a sound sleeper you will ok but I am a light sleeper so I was woken up a couple times a night. It wasn’t very bad but it’s the only negative thing I can say about this property.

- leroyk (8/5): Very nice hotel, close to all, a bit on the noisy side. - Was in town for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler. The hotel is located on the DC waterfront. Very nice location. Lots of resturants at the Wharf. Gets busy and parking can be challenging. Garage 1 said it was full but like the cars in front me we ignored the signage. I meandered around to near the exit and found several spots near the elevator to the hotel. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor to check in. G just takes you to the waterfront. Check team were excellent. Room was very clean and large. Make sure your room does not face the street. No sound isolation at all. Every ambulance and the youngsters kept the noise levels high until 3:30 am. So sleep quality gets a 2. I was on the 5th floor. Would I stay here again. Yes. But only if I could guarantee a room not on the main street.

The breakfast was not very good. It’s not that they didn’t serve nice things. It just was not good quality and therefore, meh, for adults. Only sugary cereals offered, limited fresh fruit, and eggs were powered each morning and unappetizing. Staff were friendly and polite everywhere. The location is above a concert venue. There was a concert each night that we stayed and the noise from the concert crowd, and partying was very loud each night until the early morning hours, with even louder police presence as the crowds seemed rowdy. We were traveling with young children and did not like this.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable The wifi was terrible. Their breakfast was awful. Eggs were like rubber. There was no milk for cereal. They did not replenish the food quickly. Not too many choices. We had to go on the wharf for a breakfast place. Also wished there was lotion for one of the bathroom amenities. Ice machine was broken.

Loved the fish market! We had to call housekeeping a few times during our stay for additional sheets, blanket and pillow for the pull out bed which took longer than expected to be delivered.

Hotel staff very accommodating and helpful. Valet service was excellent! (But expensive!) Just a heads up, a river-view room is a partial view, not a full view of riverfront. Our kitchenette worked perfectly for us; dishes, silverware and cooking utensils/cookware all provided. (But, if planning to open canned food, take your own can opener and take a few dish towels and a dish cloth as those are not provided for kitchenettes) If visit DC again, would definitely stay again. But, beware, Ben and Jerry's ice cream next door and it takes self control not to keep going back for one more scoop!!!

- L2664QXjg (2/5): Disappointed by Hyatt House Wharf - Stayed at Hyatt House Washington DC / The Wharf and honestly, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had at this price point (~$400/night). First issue is basic logistics: there is no proper front entrance or check-in access. You’re forced to park in a public garage, carry all luggage yourself through the garage, and then go up to a second-floor lobby. No bell service, no assistance—completely unacceptable for this price range. The room layout was extremely cramped and poorly designed. A TV stand was placed awkwardly in the middle of the room, blocking movement between the bed and couch. There was barely space to walk. The carpet had visible stains, curtains were dirty, and the sink drained very slowly. We specifically booked this hotel for the pool for our kids—but it was closed until after Memorial Day, which was not clearly communicated at booking. That was a major letdown. Breakfast was also below expectations—very limited and low quality. Parking was an additional ~$60/day, which adds up quickly on top of already high room rates. The only positive is the location at The Wharf, which is great for restaurants and waterfront views—but unfortunately, that alone doesn’t justify the cost. For ~$1300 total, this stay was absolutely not worth it. I would not return and would recommend looking at other hotels in the area.
- 169nicolel (10/5): Great location and a great hotel - I was in room 902. The room was well appointed. I had what I needed. The Den King Corner River View room didn't have silverware, but I simply brought some up from the breakfast area. Breakfast was good, changing things up a bit from day to day (I was here for 6 days). So, depending on the day, they would have some variation of eggs, sausage, french toast/waffles/pancakes, potatoes, cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, coffee, juice, etc. I like eating in my room, so I took my breakfast back to the room. Given that I had a river view corner room, I loved sitting at my table, overlooking the Potomac, having my coffee and food. there were multiple areas to plug into an electrical outlet (near the bed and the floor near the table and sitting areas). Be abke to cast content to the TV was a great perk, as some hotels still don't have streaming or casting capabilities. It was a quiet location. While I could hear the planes that fly fairly low with Reagan National Airport being across the river. During the day it was more noticeable, but at night, it reminded me more of gentle rolling thunder; it didn't bother me. I don't recall ever waking up from them. Friday night, I did hear the music coming from downstairs, either from one of the establishments or live, I couldn't tell. Again, it didn't bother me.The Wharf can be a lively place, so I expected some noise. The bed was fairly comfortable, but I also realize that it is subjective. The shower had pretty good shower pressure. Pocket door provided privacy if I decided to keep the blinds open where others could look in from the building to the one side of the room. 😉 It wasn't just a river view that I enjoyed. On one of the days I could see a clear waxing moon and its reflection on the water. You could see the to of the Jefferson Memorial, especially at night, when it is lit up. The same was true for the Lincoln Memorial. It is also beautiful to see the the pier and bridge being lit up and the various lights from the boardwalk and waterfront restaurants that looked pretty. There was no shortage of places to eat ranging from gourmet to casual, various types of food, raging from lower to higher price rages. There is a CVS 5 minutes away and a Safeway grocery store about 10 to 15min walk away. The hotel is close to the local free shuttle for the Wharf. It is a 5 min walk to the Hop on Hop Off tour bus stops as well as locul public bus stop. Metro is about a 8 to 10min walk to Le'Efante metro station, which also has food and shoes. You can walk to the Tidal Basin in about 15 to 25 min (depending how fast you walk), also to the Spy Museum in about 10min, the national mall, Washington Monument, and more. The hotel is in a spectacular location, walkable, safe, and close or convenient to most things you'd want to see and do, if not by walking, then by having access to several forms of transportation. Senessie was absolutely wonderful. I could also see that others liked him based on the interactions with other guests. Upon check in, he made some recommendations for places to eat nearby and answered all of my questions with patience and professionalism. Granted, all of the staff I encountered were friendly and professional

- Marc (3/5): Nice area, staff Is very friendly. Bad management, seems like they are trying to budget money which reflects on your exp - The staff was friendly The breakfast is not great. They run out of food. A worker came by my table and wanted to take away my clean plates. I told him they were out of eggs and oatmeal and we were waiting for more to come out. He came back and told me there were eggs now available, I went to the container he told me about and there were a few crumbs left, not enough for a spoonful. At 10 am they take away the coffee pots and it tastes like they reuse it the next morning. My plane was arriving at 5:30 am, so I paid for the previous night. It took me over 2 hours to check in. Once I got to my room, I seen there wasn’t a bathtub like I requested. I went back down to the front desk and they were going to call me when a room with a bathtub was available. Never happened in 4 nights.

- bluerodeo05 (6/5): Not Well Located - We booked this hotel thinking the Wharf area would be a fun place to stay, but it ended up being a lot more hassle than it was worth. The hotel is very confusing to walk into. There's really not a front door. Or a labeled door. I walked into the neighboring hotel after seeing a Hyatt logo on valet stand and tried to check into the wrong hotel. Some better signage would be great. It's not conveniently located to the National Mall area. There is a free shuttle that circles the neighborhood and I thought that would solve that issue. Unfortunately the shuttle only runs every half hour or so, and the tracking wasn't working for half our trip. So we only got to use it twice. The walk back from the metro stop is longer than you want after spending the day on your feet. Highly recommend finding a hotel closer to the attractions. We are normally fans of Hyatt breakfasts but this one was pretty lackluster. For the first half of our trip they didn't even have juice or bananas. The food was also cold. It got the job done but just all around could have been better. The one bright spot was housekeeping was really on top of things. It feels like daily housekeeping service has become unusual in the post-COVID era but they had it which was nice. The room was satisfactory for a Hyatt House (though I do question the efficiency of having a TV dead center in the room. There's never space to open luggage in this arrangement).

I would totally stay here again if I go back to DC.

- raindyshine (10/5): A great visit! - I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt House Washington DC / The Wharf during the peak cherry blossom weekend. Traveling with family during such a busy time can be challenging, but this hotel made everything smooth and enjoyable. The location is fantastic—right at The Wharf and perfectly situated for easy access to the cherry blossoms and major attractions. It made getting around incredibly convenient and added so much to our overall experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. Charlie and Senessie went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. They were incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely warm in their interactions, which made a big difference for our family. Overall, I highly recommend Hyatt House Washington DC / The Wharf for anyone visiting during peak seasons or traveling with family. We would definitely stay here again!

- gibson270 (10/5): Outstanding Hotel - The Hyatt House at the Wharf is an outstanding hotel. It is almost completely remodeled is located in a thriving area of DC. You will be greeted with excellent customer service from start to finish. The front desk staff are especially courteous and out of their way to help guests anyway possible. My check-in experience was exceptional. Senessie greeted me with a smile and provided me with a thorough overview of the property’s amenities. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and decorated nicely. The thermostat is easy to adjust and the television appeared to be fairly new. The neighborhood is very vibrant. Visitors will enjoy the many shops and restaurants in the area, especially those located along the boardwalk, which is great for a stroll late in the afternoon.

If you don’t mind being woken up by screaming young people at 2:30 in the morning, this place is for you. It is also $62 a day to park your car in their lot. Even if you are a hotel guest! 😳
