Guest Reviews
- Rhonda (10/5): - Great little spot . Bar and restaurant are excellent. Rom was clean and comfortable. Just a basic room, but if you put all day and just need a clean bed and bathroom then this is a great spot. Walking distance to everything you need.
- Hannah (4/5): - for a cheap motel i guess you get what you get, however if you’re a person who needs things to be clean and comfortable, this place doesn’t really check those boxes
- Ross (4/5): - This place is at the end of the Earth, and it shows. Tiny, shabby rooms, inattentive staff (who admittedly also act as bartenders), and, worst of all, very flaky and unreliable WiFi Internet.
- Terrie (6/5): Cheap - Very old and tired accommodation
- Robert (10/5): - Small and cozy,
- Wanda (10/5): - We stayed here overnight on our way to Exmouth. We were a bit concerned as to how cheap the room was but we were pleasantly surprised. The room had the basics, it was clean and did the job. The staff were amazing, we had dinner in the shark bay hotel and the food was amazing.
Highly recommend
- Natalie (10/5): - Clean and convenient room, my daughter and I had a wonderful stay, will definitely stay here again when we come next time.
- Tom (10/5): - Extremely helpful and friendly staff.Good atmosphere.Good location
- Heidi (8/5): - Nice little motel on the seafront harbour.
- Anne (10/5): - Help with urgent laundry really appreciated. Best battered fish in Au. Really friendly and hospitable staff. All in a one night stay.
- Scott (8/5): - The room was nice but hadnt been used in a while so the bathroom was a bit dusty. Everything worked well and the bedding was clean. The location is great, very central in town.
- Susan (6/5): - Had to wait until nearly 3pm as apparently busy (I only saw one other person at the bar) then told me I was only staying for 1 night but I’d booked and paid for 2. Then I ordered dinner vegetable moussaka which was cold and had to go back to be put in the microwave and heated up!
Rooms basic and need a re fresh.
- Francisca (8/5): - It's fine for a couple of days. Hotel is in front of the beach, has parking included. Room with fan and everything you need for your stay. I would have liked them to have explained the services to us. We never knew if breakfast was included and if it had wifi. but in general everything is ok
- debra (2/5): - I think this place is the worst ive ever stayed in .
The rooms are cold being exsposed brick. No heating in the rooms ,however there is a air con ....in the bathroom ! There is also a very small step down into the bathroom you do not see ,i fell down it and tripped over it a few times. Cobwebs throughout...and cleaners do not look up ...everything dusty. Rooms smell old
Cooks that live there were drunk.
Cigarette butts in every garden bed and plant pot
Not some were i would stay again.
- Hong (8/5): - Very good location! Breakfast is not bad and value for money.
- Catalina (4/5): - Firstly, the hotel is in a bar. Secondly, Sadly when we arrived they did not have our booking, then they gave us a room, we went out after check in and then they left a note saying the room was already booked and we’d have to move. Also, the booking said breakfast included, but for our surprise it was a room just with 2 boxes of cereal, a bag a apples and a dirty box of milk. Also, on the night 2, outside the room there were people drinking and making noise until very late. We paid $200 for 2 nights, so it wasn’t the most expensive hotel and we were expecting more but we had paid the same price before for something actually good.
- John Michael (8/5): Noisy - This is an older hotel but clean and cared for. Staff live in the hotel and one of them plays really loud music occasionally which can be quite annoying. Why managers do not stop this practice is beyond me !!! It was annoying enough that I will not return to stay there. Other than that fellow the staff were friendly and attentive
- Rob (6/5): - Rooms are fairly small. The room that we had was in need of maintenance. Denham had more options for eating and shopping than MM
- Carolynne (8/5): - Located in the heart of town, pleasant stay, great bakery down the road, what a great part of the world! Don’t check-in when they are busy though! Not a great start to what should have been a very nice stay.
- Steve (6/5): - Needs an overhaul
- YONG (10/5): - very good spot for beach
- Terry (4/5): - Residents partying well after midnight both nights - no regard for guests staying for a few nights.
- Josephus (8/5): - Good value
- Orasa (4/5): - Old and not clean
- Bruce (10/5): Good spot to visit - Good spot to visit, food at restaurant excellent with huge serves, good range of breakfast to choose from. Room basic but good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was old, but the room was well maintained and very clean, the shower was hot and the bed was comfy.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The meals in the restaurant were delicious and huge. The chef prepared a gluten free dinner for me. Good value and well located in the centre of town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Budget but friendly hotel accommodation with no frills. Good for an overnight sleep only. Used by workers so very basic. I would skip the breakfast on offer it looks like it's more for the local workers who stay there. Some nice local restaurant and cafe options that provide local seafood. Nice view to sit outside and enjoy a refreshing bevvy. If you don't expect much you won't be disappointed but suited our needs and budget well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - all good, just out of order of the bathroom light.
- Lyn (2/5): BACKPACKERS WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE STAYING HERE - Check in sad, no enthusiasm, room terrible, not covid19clean or anything clean A/C in shower room elect jug kept tripping therefore fridge kept going off, parking terrible, breakfast included was in an unused unit complete with toilet and shower next to food preparation , breakfast food was not individualy wrapped per serving who knows what the previous person did or how they used and or prepared their breakfast. To sum up as with opinions on other guests disgusting.
- Anonymous (8/5): - The place was clean and organized. Stayed couple of nights and it was good experience.
Closed to the coast, was wonderful in early morning and evening.
Only issue was the breakfast room is always closed and had to call one day to open it around 9am and another day had to leave by 8am and it was still closed.
- Lindy (10/5): - Very conveniently located and good value for money. Self serve brekky was a bonus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff were very helpful and enjoyed the restaurant meal.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay - Absolutely fine for what we required. Bed very comfy and breakfast a useful addition. Bit loud on the Friday night with the live music but not a major issue.
- Francis (4/5): Avoid Shark Bay Hotel - When we arrived, reception was closed, so someone at the bar checked us in. First problem, door locks were broken, fly screen is inside instead of being outside, in front of the main door. Bit of a struggle to open the door. They gave us 2 single beds, yet we're a couple and expected a double bed. Room was stuffy, no ventilation. There was ceiling fan, but the room was so dusty we couldn't turn it on without getting choked in dust. We thought there was no AC, as unlike any other rooms i have seen and know of, the AC was installed inside the bathroom which i thought was silly. Getting to sleep, we realized the linen hadn't been changed from previous occupants. Towels had black marks all over. TV was in the form of a small computer screen and sound that was hard to hear. Hotel rooms are at back of the hotel bar, so you have the noise to content with as well. Overall, a very bad experience and couldn't wait to check out the next morning, which we did, and by doing so forfeited our second night of stay. I wouldn't recommend to anybody.
- Kerrin (8/5): - Very friendly. Basic clean room . Very handy to everything in town.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Budget rooms - Old budget motel rooms, musty smell. Not real clean. All that dust on the fans top of wardrobe and tv shelf adds to the smell. Very small rooms though shower is great.
Service is fast and friendly. A breakfast room is provided for included continental breakfast. Fridge needs a clean out. Other guests leave a mess sucks.
As for the bar and meals, awesome. Best surf n turf I've ever had
- Amaya (10/5): - Friendly staff, willing to assist in any way. Good location, country pub feel. Value for money meals.
- Bernadette (6/5): Buget accomodation - It has the basic need and include continental breakfast. Room is clean but don't expect luxury.
- Holly (8/5): Historic hotel - Basic historic hotel that met our needs. The air conditioning was great and hotel was comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - Good value for the money. Great location and nice restaurant next door. On the other hand they do not have ready-made breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, quiet, simple room with everything I needed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place was Ok. Comfortable bed and quiet. The staff we very friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful.
- Ash (8/5): - We had 2 double rooms and they are a little run down but clean. There is an extra sink and microwave in the room for basic kitchenette use as well as tables outside the room for relaxing. Unfortunately the air conditioning is in the bathroom and the toilet door had to be kept open in order to enjoy its benefit in the bedroom. There is no housekeeping i.e. towel change everyday. However if you need a new towel, you may ask the restaurant staff for a new one. The breakfast is continental and self serving making toast/cereal. You will have to wash up afterwards too. The location is excellent but very windy outside when the sea breeze comes in the afternoon. The food at the restaurant is okay given there are only limited options in Denham. Apparently due to the government regulation, the seafood served are not fresh locally caught seafood because all seafood had to be sent to Perth for processing. Finally if you have to check out early, there is a key box by the restaurant door (next to breakfast room) to deposit the keys,
- David (8/5): Nice stay, but needs a overall. - Close to every thing, breakfast and laundry rooms need to be seriously looked at, really not good enough. One night it took 3 waitresses to order one meal. This place has great potential but needs some fixing up. But we did enjoy out time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was good and perfect a wonderful spot and great people
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We really liked the position of the hotel. It was easy to walk round he town and it was good to see how the foreshore had been re-developed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is great value for money with a clean, comfortable bed, fabulous shower and easy access to the area’s attractions. It’s basic but offers all we needed - and the food at the hotel restaurant is worth going back for. Excellent squid and one of the best steaks you could ask for.
- Thomas (10/5): All amazing ! - Amazing staff. Super helpful organising our late check out, amazing room location and breakkie !! Highly recommended !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Old property needs a renovation. Breakfast not good at all!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Parking directly out front of unit was handy. Pleasant outdoor beer garden. Close to most amenities. Meals good but expensive (as is the whole region).
- Patrick (8/5): - Great location, great food, only stayed one night but next time will be longer.
- Marg (8/5): - Great location to walk to various locations and directly across from the waterfront
- Verified traveler (2/5): Noisy room - The room condition desperately needs renovation, the fan in bathroom was super noisy, same as the air conditioner. We end up of having air conditioner on at night cause you can’t fall asleep with it on. What make it worse was the door, there was gap and make loud noise at night by the wind. You just can’t sleep until you put something to fill the gap. Very disappointing room.
- James (10/5): Comfortable well-located accommodation - Nice room close to the beach and shops with parking right outside the door
- Nanna (6/5): Very basic rooms. - Very basic rooms, need updating, couldn’t lock our security screen.
Our friends had a missing tile in doorway to ensuite in their room which was very sharp and could have caused injury. Would probably give this hotel a miss in future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Value for money - Basic motel room but g reat location nice bar andvvgreat food
- John (8/5): value for money - Facilities were a little bit worn but clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful.
- Mary (10/5): - Nice room which was close to the beach, parking right out the front. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming.
- MICHAEL (8/5): Good place to stay - this is an older motel having said that it was very clean quiet at a very good price for the budget traveller. Great meals in the hotel calamari was cooked to perfection.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - nice hotel,close to beach
good、beautilful town ,enjoy the stay
- Stephanie (8/5): Nice motel with friendly staff - We debated whether to stay here or at Monkey Mia and were very glad we chose this motel. The room was comfortable and well equipped (although a little dark), and staff were super friendly. Free breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Unlimited fee internet too! Would stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): omg the fish & chips - good rest up after a 14hr day, good staff, food and room only negative was the complementary breakfast. other than that sweet.
- Patrick (6/5): Great stay would be better if the heater worked. - Great Hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals were very great, well done.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A great place to stay for a short visit to Shark bay. Ideal for those passing through or wanting to travel and fish in Shark Bay. Close to all facilities, great food and atmosphere to relax and enjoy the evening. A good selection for the included Continental Breakfast.
- Serina (10/5): - Nice hotel and bar restaurant very convenient. Close to Esplanade and amazing star in the night.
- Michael (2/5): undisclosed live music - Very loud live music/kareoke and large party just outside our room had been arranged by the hotel the night we stayed there from about 9pm-3:30am. Sleep was totally impossible. When I complained to the staff person the next morning he responded that it is a weekly event. That was not disclosed when I booked the room. There is NO way the hotel has any business booking rooms when their party is on, or having live music so close to their rooms.
- laurel (6/5): pub Style - Not worth the money, run down, small room, very basic
- Verified traveler (4/5): Next please... - Rooms are over priced for what they are, the staff was so/so as I had to stand at the bar for five minutes before the bartender acknowledge me to check in (it was not busy), and they want you to pay for wifi!!!
The continental breakfast was the only upside of this stay, as it was pretty good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): We enjoyed our stay - i stayed at this hotel on my first visit to wa (37 years ago) and as it happens I stayed there again on what will be my last visit to wa, thanks for the memories
- Claudia (8/5): Old, but clean room - Room was old but clean. Breakfast was included and on a help yourself base.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Young adult singles hotel - We were off season but rooms are about 9 x 15 with twin beds on either side of a two door 3’ wide doorway and that’s about it for 9 feet when u have a set of sliding doors into the shower restroom. Place is old and reminded me of youth camp - bohemian in a Spartan way. Food Was good - no complaints - charged for wi-if - small tv mounted by ceiling - ok for one night but not again
- Verified traveler (2/5): Close to the beach - The hotel staff where very rude and the restaurant staff were very rude. The room wasn’t very nice to stay in. The shower needs fixing. Very over priced for food and hotel
- brian (6/5): right on the beach. - small town old facilities. no WiFi or internet at the hotel.
nice meals. great staff.
facilities need some return and better TV like Foxtel and some movie channels.
- joe (2/5): Very disappointing - Checked in to room and air con didn’t work but guy sorted another room. Room not updated and average state
Staff friendly, breakfast included was in a “another” room and help yourself toast, coffee in a dirty kitchen.
Second day we were only people staying and hotel closed and wasn’t told they weren’t open for Xmas day to serve food or drinks and rest of town was closed too so we starved...
To end our stay was a smoke alarm going off at 3am but no one to help.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to beach. No disturbance. - Good place to enjoy sea breeze, morning walks, evening sunsets. Provided breakfast was ample and good. A Good western hotel.
