• Kemp (10/5): A hidden little Gem nestled within a quaint village setting. Look forward to visiting again soon. - Traditional coach house with a warm friendly feel. Staff were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Big shout out to the chef whose carbonara was the best I’ve tasted in a very long time!! We didn’t have any complaints about the property or staff. We will be sure to return for another stay.

• Kate (8/5): Lovely stay in south luffenham - Locations, staff, food, room. We'd stay again. Two things stopped it being perfect, the TV didn't have any signal and the hotel confirmed our request for a double bed but we were given twin beds instead.

• Nick (9/5): 10/10 despite some indifferences - Great food, great hosts in the evening (less so at breakfast!). Emily & her Mum run a great ship during the evening, but at breakfast in their absence it almost sank. To be fair there was just a chef running the kitchen & FOH on his own, with a full breakfast room, but some acknowledgment prior to me going into the kitchen would have been nice! We waited over 45 minutes for service, but I haven’t knocked my scores down as the guy was fine when he did get to us. Great breakfast - but very dry in the absence of beans & mushrooms. No new potatoes! (A joke for Emily!). 🤣 Seriously though, the poor breakfast chef needs someone running FOH & serving drinks & food with him, not to be left to do it alone with 5 tables of guests all waiting. Add beans & mushrooms to the breakfast choices, it’s very dry without them!

• Cathie (8/5): Great value village pub, great for an overnight stay. - Friendly and welcoming staff, food was delicious and there was a great village buzz in the bar which really added to the atmosphere. Not really a complaint as we know it's an old pub, but it would be good to add some double glazing to the bedroom window to dampen down the noise of road traffic

There was a old ladder in our room with wood worm which I presume was to get out of the high window in the event of a fire.

• Tim (6/5): Relaxed. - The chef was amazing. The evening meal was divine. The staff were lovely and helpful. The Inn was in a pretty village away from busy roads. I thought the breakfast was included in the price, but was told it wasn't when I checked in. Booking.com need to consult with the inn on this as it still says breakfast included on the website. I wouldn't class the room as luxury. It was a big bed in a small room with the bathroom with a slopping sealing. It was fine, all we needed, but not luxury. Just a misleading tag. There was a door on a landing which would be safer closed for fire safety but was wedged open. I closed it but someone wedged it open again.

• Christine (9/5): The staff made the stay worthwhile, they were so pleasant and welcoming. - The food was good, the restaurant was quaint and the staff were very polite and couldn't do enough for you. There was ample to eat. The place could do with a little tlc and the tv could have been better, as it kept cutting out. The noise from the bar on a Friday night may be a disturbance to some but thankfully it didn't bother us.

• Sandi (7/5): Convenient, nicely decorated, but a bit tired - Friendly, welcoming staff and conveniently located. The mattress was very soft and uncomfortable - I could feel the springs.
• Tim (8/5): - Very accommodating host. They even rang me to ask what time I was arriving so that the pub kitchen would prepare food for me. The earliest breakfast could be served on the Sunday was 0830. With it being a work trip, a 0800 breakfast would have been ideal. It is well worth highlight that the freshly cooked breakfast was fantastic and the host was able to kindly ensure that I was served first so that I could get on my way sharpish. I will be staying again.
• Latimer (10/5): A most excellent spot for an overnight stay - the food quality was a very pleasant surprise- definitely a cut above the - The warm welcome and the food was first class Parking was initially a bit tricky but that’s due to the time we arrived - which coincided with a busy time in the public bar on a Friday evening.

• Malcolm Gardner (9/5): Overall, the warm welcome, excellent food and truly outstanding breakfast made our stay at The Coach - We had a wonderful stay at The Coach House Inn in South Luffenham. From the moment we arrived the team made us feel completely at home; there was a genuine warmth to the welcome that never felt forced, just friendly and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble and there was a sense that they really cared that we enjoyed our time there. The food was exceptional for the price. The menu is not vast, which we actually appreciated; it is focused, with a smaller number of dishes done to a very high standard and offered at very reasonable prices. The beer was well kept too, which is always a good sign. Breakfast deserves a special mention. It was outstanding – probably the best we have ever had at any hotel – with generous portions, quality ingredients and everything cooked perfectly. And finally, a word for Belle the dog, who was an absolute delight and even took it upon herself to show us around the village of South Luffenham. A lovely place, lovely people and we would happily return. If I had to mention anything we struggled with, it would be more about my own mobility than the hotel itself. The Coach House Inn is a lovely old building, which does mean steep stairs and no lift. When you book via Booking.com you are automatically allocated rooms at the top of the building which, if like me you find stairs a bit of a challenge, can make getting to and from the room hard work. It would be helpful if this was made a little clearer at the booking stage and, for anyone with mobility issues, I would strongly recommend contacting the hotel directly in advance to ask about a room on a lower floor. The team are so friendly and accommodating that I am sure they would do whatever they can to help.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.The accommodation was perfectly positioned for our visits to Rutland Water Nature Reserve, Stamford and Burghley House. Car park was crowded early evening. Arrive during afternoon or after work commuting is over!

Really went out of their way to make your stay great start to finish. Breakfast was great and everything cooked fresh. Pool table upstairs is a great feature. But there are lots of broken cues and cues with no tips. Only one available for use.

• Baker (9/5): Loved it. Perfect retreat after a winters day on Rutland Water - We had a lovely stay in the Coach House Inn. We were in the area at a sailing regatta on Rutland Water. The hotel was less than 10 minutes from the venue, so perfectly placed. It was lovely and warm and cozy to come back to after a cold day on the water. We had a delicious meal and enjoyed playing pool & chess in the evenings. The staff were all really accomodating and friendly. Big thank you to Emma for making our stay so pleasant! nothing

• Michael (8/5): Small, efficient village pub and hotel. - The staff at The Coach House were very friendly and helpful and got me checked in quickly and efficiently. They were also working in the bar that night and made sure I had everything I needed and helped me with deciding what food to order. The room was small but cozy, and the bed was a large single. I slept fine. I'm just sorry I didn't have time to stay for breakfast! The room was quite small (but perfectly adequate for a 1-night stay for one person). The bed was also quite low to the ground. Anyone with hip or knee issues might find it quite tricky to get out of it.

The quality of breakfast was superb ! Emma her self make us feel so welcomed and all team was very attentive. Bed was very comfy and room were great size for all 3 of us. Nothing like everything 😌

• Susan (6/5): Lovely staff disappointing venu - Staff were all very friendly and helpful The room was basic but the bed was clean and comfortable.There were Interesting books to borrow during our stay which was a nice idea. The en suite shower room was a bit tight on sace and the shower was height not adjustable. Breakfast was a bit lacking in imagination. The Inn felt as though it needed a face lift and although there were some attempts at making it welcome, the general appearance was a bit down at heel. Dead flowers in the containers round the outside seating area were not very welcoming. I felt the room could have been serviced at least once during our stay. . .bins emptied, towels checked, bed made. . .

We just needed a stop off on a very long journey so didn't eat there or use the bar. Worth the money we paid and would stay again. Room bit tired round the edges but that didn't matter to us. Bathroom really small & impossible to stand up to shower, may be an issue for some people.

Misunderstanding at breakfast and we were made to feel a bit uncomfortable by the owner. The breakfast was disappointing and cost us £15 each. Our room was just about ok. Lots of dust and there was a lot of mould in the shower. We were given a small bottle of milk for our room which stayed there until we checked out, after which time had curdled. Only one sachet of coffee in the room which wasn't replenished. Overall very disappointed.

The room was noisy because of the traffic along the main road which was continuous during the night. Flushing the toilet which made loud sounds was a bit disconcerting. Want twice to ask how much longer it would take. When it arrived,the Pizza was Black underneath,so much so I Cound not get my knife through it! Returned meal & asked for a simple cheese sandwich . Brought out by the Chief & asked many questions about ..when did I book ,did I book on line & she didn't get the order until 7:40! Can't write other things said as it was out of order! At the end of the day I was a paying customer, staying at her Public Inn. Just Shocking 😡
