Important Information

If you wish to use the parking, please let the property know your license plate number in advance to reserve a space. Contact details are stated in the booking confirmation. Please note that in winter, the property is only reachable by cable car, that stops running after 16:30. Extra fees apply for the cable car tickets. During summer, the Rinderberg Swiss Alpine Lodge is easily reachable by car: take the Rinderbergstrasse from Zweisimmen and drive all the way up to the lodge.

PThomas1985 (10/5): Lovely spot for a drink in the sun - If you have a bit of time spare while you're in Zweisimmen (or, as was the case for us, at the end of the GoldenPass journey from Montreux) and you're not skiing, then taking the Rinderberg Gondola halfway to the Rinderberg Lodge is a great way to spend an hour or two. It takes about 15 minutes each way on the cable, 25CHF in total, and Rinderberg Lodge is then just around the corner from the station. Lovely and cosy inside, but really nice outside too. Ideal for a sunny day. Service was quick, our beer and coffee was good, and it was a nice, chilled atmosphere. Stunning views of course!

Kevin (8/5): Perfekte Auszeit in den Bergen, mit kleinen Abzügen... - Super Lage, angenehme Zimmer, freundliches Personal. 2 Saunen, 2 Hot Pods. Perfekt für ein paar Tage in den Bergen... Menü Auswahl am Abend eher bescheiden, mit ordentlichen Preisen. Essen ist aber gut. Fehlen eines Aufenthaltsraumes. Man "muss" im Restaurant sitzen zum gemeinsamen Spielen, etc. Generell eher kalt in der ganzen Hütte. Fussbodenheizung im Badezimmer hat gar nicht funktioniert... Zimmer leider nicht gut vorbereitet, so waren noch Zigaretten vom Vorgänger auf der Terasse verteilt, Bademantel haben auch nach Nachfragen nicht den weg in unser Zimmer gefunden.

jakobi (3/5): Viel zu teuer und leider zuviel negative Punkte für einen Urlaub, den wir 5 Jahre nicht mehr hatten. Einfach eine Frechh - Die Lage, die Ausstattung des Zimmers, Natur und Umgebung, die Hotelanlage an sich, der Wellnessbereich Die Anreise war eine Katastrophe! Leider gibt es keine Info, dass man nur im Tal parken kann u. Per Gondel an das Hotel kommt. Wir fuhren bis 2km nah ran, konnten dort parken und sollten dann über die Piste mit drmmgrsamten Grpäck hochlaufen, es wurde dunkel … ein Alptraum! Zimmer wurde 5 Tage nicht geputzt! Auf Grund Mangelnden Personals ! Sauna oft zu heiß mit über 100* und der heiße Topf nicht begehbar u. Nutzbar weil zu heiß! Abendessen leider aufgewärmte u. vertrocknete Spätzle.

Das Personal war - Sehr schöner Aufenthalt in der Rinderberg Lodge Uns hat der Aufenthalt in der Rinderberg Lodge in Zweisimmen sehr gut gefallen. Besonders das Frühstück war hervorragend – frisch, reichhaltig und mit viel Auswahl. Wir hatten ein Budget-Zimmer, das für eine kurze Auszeit absolut in Ordnung war. Beim nächsten Mal würden wir aber gerne ein grösseres Zimmer mit Badewanne buchen, um den Aufenthalt noch mehr zu geniessen. Insgesamt eine tolle Unterkunft mit freundlichem Personal und schöner Atmosphäre – wir kommen gerne wieder! Die Anreise ist gut verlaufen, alles war einfach zu finden. Leider kostet der Parkplatz 10.–, was nicht ganz ideal ist. Das Zimmer war grundsätzlich in Ordnung, aber an der Wand hatte es Flecken, was den Gesamteindruck etwas getrübt hat. Trotzdem war der Aufenthalt insgesamt angenehm.

Nadezda (6/5): The view and the location are stunning! The rest has decreased in quality dramatically while proces went up by a lot. Yo - Location is exceptional, views are stunning! This cannot be taken away… I have been to this hotel 2 years ago and unfortunately everything but the view has decreased in quality dramatically, while the prices have increased almost 2 times. The hotel seems to be completely understuffed, so I cannot blame the stuff who cannot pay attention to serving people dinner and taking care of the sauna at the same time 🙈 they were trying their best. No-one was there to see that there are not enough tables at breakfast, people had to get up and leave so that the next ones would have place. No-one was there to check the saunas (one out of 2 was completely off, the second one was OK on one day and then again almost off on the next one - the stones were just a bit warm), one pool was overheated (above 60 degrees which is dangerous as some people still tried to get in and jumped out with red legs), the second pool had no wood for heating added for a while, so it was OK some 30-40 minutes after we have added some wood… seemingly someone expects the spa part to run on it‘s own, with no emergency buttons, no instructions how and what and a metallic (!) container left inside the sauna to add water… 🙈 provided the the sauna stays cold it might as well work :) 🙈 I have read later after my big disappointment (it was one of the best places I have been to before…) that the owners have changed recently. It is a pity to run a place with such a great location in such a poor way… it has so much potential… I hope it will change.

Andreas (10/5): Wunderschön, wer abseits gemütlich in den Bergen Urlaub machen will - Die Lage der Rinderberg Lodge ist großartig, weit oberhalb des Ortes. Wir hatten ein wunderschönes Familienzimmer mit Balkon und Weitblick auf die Berge. Direkt von der Lodge lässt sich die Umgebung auf Wanderwegen oder auch per Seilbahn erkunden. Sehr zu empfehlen ist der Rinderberg und eine kleine Wanderung Richtung Gstaad. Das Frühstück ist großartig. Die große Terrasse des Restaurants mit vielen unterschiedlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten ist toll und gemütlich gestaltet. Das Personal: top!

Maja (8/5): Ein gemütliches und erholsames Wochenende im Berner Oberland - Reizender Empfang mit einem Glas Prosecco oder einem Glas Eistee. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung - nichts spezielles. Das Restaurant, wo man das Abendessen einnimmt, ist gemütlich. Das Abendessen lecker - vor allem das "Apfelschwein" ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Lage inmitten der Skipisten ist prächtig! Absolut ruhige Nächte und vom Zimmerbalkon aus hat man eine herrliche Bergsicht. Der Frühstücksraum ist etwas klein und eng ausgefallen. Im Badezimmer hat es keinerlei Hacken, wo man das Badetuch oder den Bademantel hätte aufhängen können. Keine Zahnputzgläser. Keine Privatsphäre auf den Balkon, da die einzelnen Balkone über keine Trennwände verfügen - schade. Die Sauna und der Ruheraum sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Tin (2/5): quite bad - Environment is good as it is near to the top of the mountain. We have booked superior double room, should be with good mountain view. However we got a quadruple room on 1st floor (the lowest floor) with a lot of insects coming to our room at night. Staff said the hotel is fully booked, but not correct as we saw only few customers. Breakfast room is full of insects and fly. Unbelievable.
Stacy (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable, friendly. - We enjoyed every thing about our stay at Rinderberg Lodge. The train to Zweisimmen had beautiful views. It was fun to ride the gondola up to the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful—the perfect mix of modern and mountain, wood and concrete. We were offered lemon water and prosecco upon arrival as the first guests of the summer season. The staff were wonderful from arrival onward. The facilities are spotless. The views are gorgeous. We didn’t make use of the sauna because it was very hot the afternoon we arrived, so can’t comment on that. However, the garden outside the restaurant deck is a beautiful place to sit and explore. Since we had been traveling with backpacks we were mostly interested in a respite and relaxation rather than adventure and hiking, but the opportunities are here. I enjoyed hanging out with some cows (love the cowbells) on the other side of the fence. Our dinners were delicious. The chef adapted a dinner dish to be dairy-free and gluten-free for me. GF and DF together has been difficult in Switzerland, but here it was easy (limited but good choices). At breakfast there were excellent packaged gluten-free rolls, fruit, fresh bread, sliced meats, and pastries. I’m going to look for the GF bread in stores it was that good. I had sent a note to the hotel about my food intolerances in advance. There is oat milk alternative here. I would 100% stay here again. I wish we had another night! Two VERY minor things that could be improved on: yes, like other reviews stated there were flies. They were a bit annoying but didn’t detract from our experience. Second, the room could use some hooks in the bathroom for wet towels. There was nowhere to hang them. These things would not keep me away.

Jennifer (10/5): Charming place! Worth it! - Beautiful location, the little road to go up offers such a stunning view. Quiet and peaceful with a nice forest-valley view from the Sauna and hot tub. Very charming place! I loved the room as well, will definitely come back!

Ronald (9/5): Superb - We come to Zweisimmen every winter (holiday house) and I always wanted to stay in this hotel (half way up the mountain). We booked a room with a view (!) for 4 nights in Summer. It was a pleasure. Good breakfast and dinner was fine as well.

Metz12 (9/5): Great stay in wonderful surroundings - Great location with very nice spa, good restaurant and good value (in my case). Rooms are very nice and cozy. Spa was very relaxing (not busy). Great views. Breakfast buffet was already a bit scarce even though I was not that late. The value was very good for me depending on the booking time and that it was not fully occupied but i think In the winter it might be a different story. The road to the place could have a small sign explicitly stating that Hotel guests are allowed to use the private road through the cow fields.

Hassas (10/5): Exceptional - We took the gondola (5 min walk from the station) from Zweisimmen to the lodge. It was really easy and comfortable. The accommodation surpasses our expectations. We stayed here in July, and the views were breathtaking. The spa/wellness centre was amazing. The rooms were fresh, clean, and they had everything you needed. Since the lodge is far from any shops or supermarkets, we would like to have a fridge in the room

It was a peaceful stay. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very warm and helpful. It was a place where I would like to stay longer.

If you don't have a car, make sure the cable car is functional, because the lodge is up the mountain from the village and there's no way to get up there on your own, except with the cable car. The spa & sauna make a relaxing retreat after a hike up the mountain. The cows are close to the lodge and their bells make a beautiful symphony. Nothing!

The food and breakfast was really good, staff was very sympathetic and helpful and a wonderful relaxing spa. A feedback to be given to the hotel is to have the spa open in the morning too which we think is only negative point.

Young lady at reception friendly as well. Room was excellent (the suite in this cas Rest of crew not too friendly. Was not even clear Who the owner was. Seems not to show interest in his place. Allthough almost no guest in hotel, no pick-up was offered woensdag arriving with all the luggage. Dinner obviously expensive (no surprise though). No own parking spot/not Ny arrangement.. no clear instruction.. additionally to be pand for.

LaurenAimee91 (10/5): Amazing lodge - We had a brilliant experience at Rinderberg Swiss Alpine Lodge. The setting is spectacular and the facilities were excellent. We had a beautiful room over looking the slopes with a lovely bath and balcony. The staff were so attentive and friendly, we couldn't fault their service. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

Zero18 (9/5): hat is there better dann relaxing in a wood fired hot tub with mountain view - Fantastic outdoor wood fired hot tub- perfect for a soak after a day hiking or skiing. the breakfast is very nice and lots of fresh local produce. Very friendly hosts- our room was splendid and it felt in the middle of the meadows and lulled to ship by the gentle cling cling of cow bells. Easy reachable by cablecar or car (summer only) nothing- is a great place

Inyoung (7/5): Interesting stay - pretty good - Spa seemed nice. Friendly staff. An interesting & special experience when going there through gondola. Nice place to take a short walk around. View is pretty cool. Breakfast was nice (the scrambled eggs was a bit salty). Water was very expensive. We had to drink from the bathroom tab. There was only one staff at the reception during checkout hours so it was pretty slow.

Renato (10/5): A-M-A-Z-I-N-G - EVERYTHING IS JUST AMAZING. The photos you see here can’t explain to you how beautiful this place is. Just book it you will not regret it. It’s mentioned that the check in time is super early but the lady left the keys hidden so we could check in at any time (we arrived at 1 am). There’s only one thing: at night, you have the road blocked by an electric fence, we stopped there in the middle of the night, no light at all, trying to figure how to pass this electric fence. It’s easier than it seems, you just run your car through it and it’s ok! Such an Amazing place with AMAZING STAFF!!! Absolutely nothing.
