Guest Reviews
- Michelle (2/5): - We travelled from Dublin at 7pm nearly 4 hours driving, only to be told at the door that the guest house was closed. Not helpful with giving us an alternative. Owner gave impression that well we’re closed so tough luck. Ended up driving back home the 2 hour later. Very disappointed
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely - Place was great! Wi-Fi was sketchy so planning our next stop was difficult.
- Ryan (10/5): - Fantastic hosts. Very knowledgeable about the area. Went out of their way to help us get into town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Handy to Town, Had car but only 15 min walk or Bus, nice shopping town, very interesting, Lovely owners made us feel at home, let us leave our car there when we went with Friend to the Aran Islands for the day.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice accomodations but small room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very roomy suites. Friendly staff. Not very central for walking if mobility is an issue. The wifi wasn’t strong enough to work in the upstairs room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Wasn’t as close to the airport as expected.
No one to greet us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were charming and made us feel welcome. Their recommendation for dinner hit the spot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The property very close to to the town
- Verified traveler (10/5): - have nothing but good things to say about our stay here.. rooms spotless hosts were pleasant and helpful and our breakfast and choice of breakfasts was value for money
- Ross (8/5): - I needed a modest place at a reasonable price and a good location, Clare Manor was that. The hosts were friendly, The room was clean. All in all it was just what I expected, what I consider to be the best of all, it was "enough"!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable friendly and good value Breakfast good in relaxed friendly atmosphere
- Verified traveler (6/5): - rather drab, breakfast good, toilet not well cleaned, run down area of busy road
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pillows were uncomfortable but overall slept well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely BnB. Had a great full irish brakfast & the people who run it are so nice & helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Martina and her husband couldn't have done more for us.
We were up for the Cork match vs clare and her husband dropped myself my husband and 2 kids into the square and left out car in their B&B carpark. So after the match we walked back and made easy driving to get onto main road home.
Once we came back they asked if we needed to get changed as we had got soaked at the match.
Honestly couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Big thumbs up from us x
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming staff. Beautiful, comfortable room. Easy access to Ennis
- David (6/5): Adequate. - We found this B&B to be adequate. It is effectively a large townhouse with the rooms converted into bedrooms. Very welcoming hosts. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. However. the rooms general décor and furnishings were quite old. The bathroom was tiny with a sliding door. This was probably the main downside. It is a quick drive into town, a very nice town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The host and hostess were VERY accommodating and helpful. Food was excellent and plentiful. Beautiful rooms, dining, and lounge area. Gave us an extra towel when we requested and had free wifi, tea/coffee makings with kettle, cookies, and shower amenities. However, they accidently forgot to give us toilet paper the 2nd night, took our dirty towels but forgot to give us new ones, and the cupboard door was broken. All easy fixes and not really problems. Overall, we'd come back here to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Bed was very comfy. Quiet. Staff friendly. Ver clean. Good water pressure and Wifi.
- Janet (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay. Host very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - As a simple, reasonably b&b, Clare Manor was everything I expected and more. Owners are delightful. Cheerful and accommodating in every possible way, often going out of their way to be helpful. Highly recommended.
- Peter (10/5): Well worth a visit - I had a really nice two night stay at the Clare Manor. the hosts were very welcoming and friendly, the accommodation was excellent, clean, good facilities , car parking, excellent value, it was very easy to find, comfortable and the full Irish breakfast really sets you up for the day. Martina and her husband very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, will definitely be staying again. Also very convenient for Shannon Airport and the quaint town centre in Ennis.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Host & Hostess were wonderful. Enjoyed our stay and the room was lovely.
- Roosevelt (8/5): charming - The Clare Manor was a nice place as I was traveling thru and flying out the next morning. Staff was great and breakfast was a great Irish breakfast. 10-20 walk to town
- Irene (10/5): Cosy Irish home with lovely owners - I spent 2 nights at this B&B last weekend. I was greated by one of the smiley owners who very kindly took my luggage upstairs for me. It felt like staying at a relative's, and it was clear to me that they have a passion for what they do and go the extra mile to make everyone's break great. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice (plain yoghurt, cereal, fresh fruit...), as well as Irish break and a cooked breakfast. My bathroom was on the small side, and I felt my carpet had not been hoovered, but I really did not mind as everything else was brilliant and I slept like a baby. Thank you very much for everything and keep up the good work!!
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautifully kept property, easy check in, fantastic breakfast, incredibly comfortable bed and room. It’s on my list of places to stay when I go back to Ireland!
- Paula (8/5): - Great shower and friendly hosts, warm sitting area and hosts provided dishes and cutlery for us to have our tea.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Probably the best breakfast i have got ! Excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I found the mattress hard. Everything else was very nice.
Breakfast was lovely.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was quite adequate as a final night before flying out of Shanon. Our hosts kindly made breakfast a little earlier than scheduled to accommodate our flight. They also recommended a great pub restaurant for dinner that we enjoyed.
- KD (8/5): - Good location was near to concert venue just a few minutes walk
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautifully decorated. Easy to access. Great food.
- Siobhan (10/5): A little gem.... - I usually use hotels for overnight business stays as I feel b&bs have taken a bit of a nose dive in recent years. I am so glad I made an exception this time. This is a proper old fashioned b&b with lovely gracious hosts, a clean comfortable room overlooking a beautiful garden. An out standing breakfast with fruit fresh yogurt cereal juice gorgeous brown bread and a fried breakfast you could not get through. Very cheap by national standards. But best of all they were closed for the season but honoured the booking anyway. Highly recommend.
- Steve (8/5): - Nice stay with comfortable bef and a terrific Irish breakfast! Probably a 20 minute walk into the center of the old town.
Unfortunately, I left a jacket with sentimental meaning! Hoping to work out the logistics with Clare Manor to ship back to the States!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Charming Irish couple’s B&B - This B&B offers very comfortable and quiet rooms at a very reasonable rate. The beds are very comfortable, allowing me the best sleep I had during my visit to Ireland. From the B&B it is easily walkable to Ennis’ town center where there are wonderful stores and fantastic food to be found.
- Rosie (6/5): Unexceptional B&B. - The bed was comfy. The breakfast was good and the owners were helpful.
However the room was not particularly clean and the toilet seat was broken and felt unhygienic.
- Pat (10/5): Few days' vacation in Ennis. - Clare Manor is nice and affordable Bed & Breakfast in Ennis, Co. Clare. If you are looking for a cost effective place to stay, I would recommend it. I found the staff very friendly and the rooms clean and tidy.
- Gary (8/5): - Facility was easy to find and convenient. Room was small but comfortable and breakfast was very good!
- Mary (10/5): - We stayed four nights using Clare Manor as a base for exploring the region and visiting family and friends. We were made welcome and had an excellent good quality breakfast every morning. Our room was clean and comfortable and we would highly recommend it and would stay there again.
- Amelia (10/5): Accommodating hosts! - Apparently there was a mixup where the room was not supposed to be listed as the hosts were planning to take a few days off, but when we arrived they welcomed us and agreed to accommodate us anyway. Wonderful couple and the room was large and comfortable. Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely room and people, so good to cater for celiac could nt recommend enough
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Comfortable and clean room.Nice and quiet.Breakfast was good and there was a good choice of fresh fruit on offer.
- Steve (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great place to stay. Awesome breakfast. Outstanding service. Room was perfect. Staff was very nice and helpful. Great value too. Highly recommend this place.
- Prtrt (10/5): - Highly recommend
- Mary (8/5): A fine Irish b and b - Ours was a very roomy space for three people. Breakfast was absolutely delicious - fruit included fresh strawberries and bllueberries - and the hosts friendly and welcoming. Not a hotel, but a classic and good Irish b and b.
- Grant (10/5): Excellent traditional B&B in Ennis Ireland - Clare manor is an outstanding Bed & Breakfast.located about 1 km from town center of Ennis Ireland. The owners were extremely helpful. The proper Irish breakfast was excellent.
- Richard (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. The beds were very comfortable, breakfast was great, and the proprietors were quite friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for a quick stop - Room with 2 double beds was a bit small. Keys for front door and room were a little difficult. Bathroom was clean and shower was very good. Short drive to get to restaurants.
- Deb (2/5): Beware!..Toxic Proprietress! - Arriving early in Ennis, it was extremely difficult to find this B&B. When we finally did, we stopped to introduce ourselves and assure our host that we'd be checking in later. He told us the check in was at 2, we thanked him and left.
When we returned at 2, the door was locked and no one answered our knock. I called the given number and reached a woman who began to immediately rant at me, and who, though never having set eyes on me or spoke to me previously, proceeded to tell me "that's what's wrong with you people! You think you know everything!" and "this is our home!" and that her husband was in hospital, implying this was somehow our fault.
It became obvious that we couldn't possibly stay at Clare Manor, which I told her as politely as possible in between her incomprehensible accusations. We then found welcome at a lovely Boutique villa just two doors away.
My survey answers above doesn't not allow for "not applicable", but since we never saw a room, we cannot rate a room.
We can, however, recommend that travelers avoid booking with a B&B owner who has somehow confused "hospitality" with "hostile."
