Guest Reviews
- Juliette (10/5): -
- Adam (9/5): Lovely traditional japanese accomodation. Helpful hosts. - The breakfast was extensive and lovely. The onsen was welcome at the end of a ski day. The hosts were ever so helpful with ski field and train transfers. Thank you for a lovely trip.
- Keeghan (10/5): Hiro and Sol made Park Sekine feel like home. Their hospitality was exceptional, and the quality of the facilities truly -
- Maya (10/5): Incredible hosts in a beautiful traditional lodge! - This lodge was amazing! The owners are the kindest, most generous people you will ever meet, and I’m so glad we got to stay in their beautiful property. The breakfast was incredible every morning, you will definitely not go hungry, and the beds were super comfy with big rooms.
- HEUNG KAM (10/5):
- Sophiemarie (10/5): The most welcoming and cozy stay - It felt like you stepped into your family's cabin. The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate and make our stay comfortable. They gave us a 6-pack of beer on arrival, fresh strawberries the next day, and shuttled us back and forth from the ski resorts, rental shop, and the train station.
- davies (10/5): It felt like home! - The most wonderful stay with the most hospitable family. They picked me up from the train at 11 pm and shuttled us to and from ski areas. Breakfast was wonderful. We loved our traditional style room. Highly recommend. Nothing
- Greg (9/5): Great place. I'll be back. - Hero and So are awesome.
If you get the opportunity eat in the restaurant. Food is amazing. A little tired.
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - The owners were so lovely and the rooms were gorgeous. They were so accomodating and made our stay amazing
- Jasper (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kai (9/5): Superb - If you’re looking for a traditional experience, I highly recommend this lodge. The staff are absolutely wonderful—always attentive and happy to help with any request. They even provided us with a pickup and drop-off service to Akakura when we wanted to go out for drinks but couldn’t drive.
The location is great if you have a car, with plenty of parking available. However, without one, getting around might be a bit tricky as there isn’t much nearby. That said, Akakura is only a five-minute drive away.
The lodge features a traditional onsen with communal showers, but every time I used them, I had the space to myself. It’s something to keep in mind, but overall, this was an amazing stay!
- Michael (10/5): Perfect- we will be back again next time we go to myoko. - we really enjoyed our stay ay Park lodge sekine,
the room was newly renovated and had very comfortable befs, the room was massive with enough room for our 2 young children to play. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, they ensure all guests gets to the mountain of theyre choice on time and the road is always cleared of snow. the bathrooms are always spotlessly clean. They really work around the clock for ensure your stay goes seamlessly.
- Muhammad (10/5): Very accommodative and helpful during our stay. - The lovely husband and wife with their excellent hospitality. I would definitely stay here again when I visit myoko kogen
- Jitka (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic people, great breakfasts, locality
- Kiubon (8/5): must stay in myoko ! - Food portions are large. Location is great to any of the myoko resorts. Staff is so kind, thoughtful, will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable - including shuttling you around. The sauna is a bit small.
- Chelsea (10/5): Very hospitable, helpful and clean. Loved the stay - A couple run the lodge and they couldn’t be nicer! They did everything to make sure we were looked after, comfortable and catered for. They went above and beyond. Super clean and authentic Not much I can say that I didn’t like about it.
- Sean (10/5): Great stay here - Huge amount of space, host will bring you to the slopes and back, food was great and very hospitable.
- Sarai (9/5): Superb -
- Antoine (8/5): Very good - The hosts are so kind, the building has a lot of charm and is in a quiet location. Not to mention the private onsen! In winter the bulldozer clearing the snow is very noisy around 6-6.30am.
It's really my only gripe, as everything else is really pleasant
- Nay (9/5): Brilliant stay! Hosts were amazing !! - Hosts were so friendly Cleanliness, authentic . Washing machines
Host picked us up and dropped us off at train station. Drove us everywhere we wanted to go with no hassle.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - Awesome experience in a traditional Japanese guest house. Fantastic food, really recommended, the table was full of small delicious dishes! The room is very cosy and super confy! We enjoyed the onsen very much too!
- Daron (10/5): Exceptional - Room is very big and cozy. The owner and the family are super friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (10/5): We love to keep coming back ! - we love the traditional Japanese ambiance, the hospitality and amazing food . We keep coming back to see ‘ Mumma Chan ‘
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- J (10/5): So hospitable and friendly, just a magical place. - Most amazing traditional Japanese breakfasts and dinners we had on our trip!
The most helpful staff ever. There was nothing we didn’t like!
- Mike and Pei (10/5): 3 nights stay, Christmas Weekend, Couple Snowboard - Overview: traditional Japanese hotel, tatami room, came with Japanese deserts and chopsticks and tea setup, also towels and yukatas were all clean. Tatami room where you need to make your own futon/bed. Pillows were also Japanese style, think full of small beads instead of feathers. So I advice to bring your own pillows.
Free wifi
Parking, small parking area, make sure to email the hotel manager Soichiro-San to coordinate parking spot the day prior if you are driving.
Location, less than 10 minute drive from myokosuginohara, Akakura Kanko, Akakura onsen.
Breakfast, the free breakfast was delicious. Japanese style. We stayed here for three nights and had three free breakfast served at 8am sharp.
Toilets, all toilet facilities are updated and western style. Very clean, wife and I have stayed in many Japanese hotel and budget accommodation, this place had the best toilet rooms. Trust me this is important.
English language, Soichiro-San has good English, just be patient everything will be okay. The staff, not so much so good luck. But the lady who serves breakfast and dinner was always nice. Talked to us in Japanese most of it we didn't understand. Remember "Wakarimasen Gomene " "I don't understand, I'm sorry."
Free shuttle to any of the mt myoko ski areas.
The ski areas open at 8am, breakfast is served at 8am. You see, you will miss some early bird ski time but for us the whole day of snowboarding was enough.
The entire hotel is non-smoking.
