Guest Reviews
- Brian (2/5): - I booked my stay at serene resort online, approximately 4-5 days in advance, using an online travel company. I called approximately one hour before arriving at the hotel for my scheduled stay and the manager told me he canceled my reservation. The manager had very limited Ability to communicate in English. I arrived to the resort only to discover the manager refused to rent me a room and said he canceled my reservation. He then sent me to another hotel where I had to pay for a room. The next hotel was horrible. No tv, no air conditioning, bed had torn sheets, the kitchen was so dirty and tourist had loud music playing.
After checking the travel website online, I realized the reservation was never canceled and the money had been paid to the hotel. I called the hotel, serene resort, to have a refund and the manager refused and said he canceled my reservation. I contacted expedia.com Who stated they are unable to speak with the property directly and cannot dispute the charges. I have disputed the charge directly with my credit card company.
Lesson learned… If you were traveling to Nepal, do not schedule anything online. This includes excursions, hotels, and other amenities throughout the city. Travel directly to the location or speak with somebody directly. Online services are obviously lacking. Amenities know you are a short traveler and have no problem taking your money and waiting for you to leave the country with little to no recourse. DO NOT book at this resort!
- PL (10/5): Best place for a view in Nagarkot - Most hotels in Nagarkot provide beautiful scenes of only one side of the valley but this resort had their very own 360Tower from where we could get a view of all the directions. Also book a deluxe room on the top floor for a beautiful natural lighting in the morning!
- Tony (10/5): Magnificent Sunset Himalayan Mountains - Anyone visiting Kathmandu looking for a majestic retreat in the most stunning natural environment surrounded by mountains, breathtaking sunsets and fresh air should visit Nagarkot, a pleasant drive through Patan and villages this is a well designed beautiful hotel offering memories that last a lifetime and staff that go beyond normal requirements to ensure every need is met, highly recommended
- Uday (10/5): Nice resort by lake side; excellent experience - Serene as the name suggests and beautiful. Rooms are big with balcony attached and very neat n tastefully done. Not much away from the main shopping street yet in a very calm surroundings. Very good staff. Highly recommended. Stay for at least 2 nights n 2/3 days to really enjoy Pokhara
