We arrived to find the place bordered up, in ruins. The Booking.com was/is still operational for this place as if they are still in business. Place was booked January/February 2026! Disappointing to have to find alternative place to stay at the last minute. Costing us $160 more than budgeted! Asking if there will be compensation?

I had a confirmed reservation on 17/04/2026. I arrived at the property on time last night with my wife and three children, but to my shock, the motel was completely closed and not operating. There was no staff उपस्थित, no prior notice, and no way to check in. As a result, my family, including young children, was left stranded outside at night with no accommodation. This situation was extremely stressful, unsafe, and unacceptable. I immediately attempted to contact the property but received no response. I also reported the issue through your platform.

Richard (5/5): Next time we're in Christchurch will look for better value & read more reviews - Nicely located. Quite central. Whole place in need of a spruce-up. Room needs an upgrade - cracked & dirty windows, drapes were grubby. Pool was cloudy & needed to be cleaned. Get the feeling the motel is/was used for social/emergency housing.

Kari (4/5): Not good value for money but did the job. - Great location, only a 20 minute walk to all major attractions, Riverside Markets, Victoria Square and Hagley Park. The manager was so nice and he was super helpful. He gave us suggestions of things to do and was really apologetic for the state of the rooms. The room was filthy, stains on the sofas, carpet and walls. It seriously needed a paint job, looked as though it was being used as emergency housing when it was not booked online. The pool is missing a lot of tiles and needs some help. Luckily our kids did not care, however as an adult I wouldn't go in it. The manager assured us that they were aware of the need to fix the issues going to upgrade and that it was clean but it was pretty cloudy....

Eden (3/5): Poor - I was given an "upgrade" not the room I wanted. The beds were not completely made, pillows had no pillow cases, teatowels etc were throwen on bed-not folded. Outside the bedroom windows you have a awful sight of a brick wall, stones and rubbish. This hotel is used as emergency housing also I was not notified of this. People were arguing all night I could hear whilst trying to sleep. Kitchen was mismatched cups etc.

Good location, close to tournament we were attending, supermarkets etc. Had a nice big washing machine. Not very clean at all. I spent the 1st hr washing all the dishes and wiping cupboards and surfaces. Floors don't look like they've been mopped in months. Cobwebs. I made my son get out of the pool unsure if that was clean either. Plus, pretty sure it was social housing which really should be advised.

The owners are clearly rebuilding the motel and first impressions on arrival are not appealing. However our studio unit was immaculate and recently refurbished. The owners/staff were very accommodating and our stay was fantastic. The motel is very well located in Christchurch.

Only thing was didn't know where reception was no proper signage so had to figure it out eventually did , maybe have a better reception area. Rooms are well equipped with cooking facilities, and comfortable bedding. 20 minutes walk to a shopping mall with large supermarket. Motel located 2 km east of the CBD on a quiet street. The property is gated for extra security, with 24 hr access. Adequate free car parking. Small swimming poll on-site. Grounds and room refurbishment recently completed.

Craig (8/5): Nice Family Hotel Near City - Pool and playground in a central area (rooms form a semicircle around this area). The room is spacious, bed is very nice - lots of sheets and pillows, TV large with numerous channels. I did hook up an ipod to TV (yes I know nobody uses an ipod any longer - except for me) - it worked well and sounded good. Assortment of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, + cookies. There was a cold fridge, microwave, toaster oven and a griddle - so if one wanted, one could cook. I did use toaster oven for some morning pizza (even had a pizza pan that fit the oven). It was a nice touch. Wet room - nice shower, good pressure - nice toiletries for shower. Being out of the city centre this is more of a drive to/family stop I'd say - not my usual kind of hotel, but the area was safe. I never felt I was in a "bad" or "dangerous" area. It is not too far from city - I used the weekend more as an "urban hike" excursion - so the location was fine for me. With all of that in mind, staff are friendly, the room is nice, certainly above-average considering cost, overall a good value.
Verified traveler (8/5): doneandgone - Comfortable mattress; large spacious room; enormous flat-screen TV & quality dining table; newly renovated/upgraded room; good wifi connection; fully equipped kitchen w/ample cooking supplies & amenities; paper towels, facial tissues, rice cooker, panini sandwich press, mixing bowls, measuring spoons were provided; oven, stovetop, microwave, & large refrigerator; friendly & helpful owner; daily housekeeping staff were polite & attentive, but not intrusive; complimentary washing machine & laundry powder. A semi-busy street adjacent to motel, so traffic noise at times. Due to the recent renovations, fumes from new carpet or paint needed to be aired out. Sofa cushions somewhat sunken & the position of the sofa required sitting at an angle to watch TV. Nonetheless, we would highly recommend this motel, plus it's only a few minutes drive from the city centre & main sightseeing activities.
