- Terry Coleman (8/5): Nice facility. No problem solving skills by front desk staff. - When we got there our room was 79 degrees. Called and maintenance came. Said it was fixed. After 2 hours it was 78 degrees. Called maintenance again and they came and said they fixed it. By then it was 11pm. It never got below 75 all night. Next morning told the front desk it was never fixed. They said they would send the supervisor. Came back that afternoon and it was still 79 degrees. They put us in a new room. This would have been offered one day one. Took two days to find solution to cooling problem. It took me contacting maintenance/front desk 3 times. No compensation or remedy was offered on day one. The excuse was that the room was a corner room and they are usually warmer. 78 degrees warmer….. I don’t think so.

They have all these fancy controls for the lights and shades, but this is the second room where one set of panels couldnt control the thing it was supposed to control. Automation for the sake of automation isn't always worth it.

- Alena Hayeva (10/5): - I loved everything! It was clean, tidy, and the staff were polite. They brought extra bedding for the kids when we asked. The hotel has charging stations for electric vehicles, but there aren’t many of them and they were all occupied. So if you’re choosing this place just for that reason, don’t count on finding an available charging spot.
- 659johannaj (10/5): Excellent stay - Location was great if you're visiting UMD. The room was clean, generously sized, modern, quiet, comfortable, and had excellent lighting features. My teenage son and I slept SO hard in the comfortable beds. We appreciated the separate toilet room and the use of a shower curtain rather than a glass shower enclosure because it allows one of us to enter the bathroom while the other is in the shower. Wished we had options to hang our bath towels to dry and reuse, but used the closet for this. Appreciated the bar in the shower to hang our washcloths and the large ledge along the tub to place our travel toiletries. The counter space around the sink was large enough and we were glad there was a towel bar for our hand towels. Yes, I notice these things and I'm constantly amazed at how many hotel rooms don't offer these little details that allow you to function comfortably like you're at home. Water pressure was good and the shower head was sufficient - I hate the rain showers, so I was glad this wasn't an issue in this room. The window sheers and blackout shades went up an down with the push of a button on the wall - nice. Lighting was outstanding throughout the room and controlled with buttons on the walls. Loved the dimmer switch option in the toilet room for early mornings and loved all the lighting options in the space to brighten or soften the amount of light. For those who care, the lighting did not cause any glare. Room air was fresh and climate control was responsive. I will note that I wish the metro line were closer. We walked at least a mile or so zigzagging through neighborhoods to reach the UMD metro station, but they are in the process of running a new transit line right through the middle of the UMD campus, so sometime in 2027 this will no longer be an issue. Restaurants attached to the hotel building were great options and staff were all friendly and helpful. Parking was also very easily accessible via the attached garage with in/out privledges as a hotel guest for $16 daily. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again if I return to UMD!

- BradH1506 (4/5): The Hotel is more like The Hostel - At face value this is nice hotel with great views of campus. Unfortunately, the basic comforts expected by any traveler were not up to anyone's standards. My party had 4 people in 4 separate rooms. All of them experienced air conditioners that could not properly cool down the rooms. We all experience issues with hot water in the shower. I personally also experienced an issue with a light that was permanently on because the "cool tech" lighting system would not turn it off and there was no physical switch to override it. The automated blinds controls did not work properly. Finally, the temperature in the conference rooms were not properly maintained. Hot one day. Freezing the next.

- Gypsy1962 (10/5): First-rate Hotel! - From start to finish, my hotel experience was top-tier. The hotel is elegant, the rooms were spacious, and they had the nicest hotel robe I've ever worn! We were there for a wedding, and everything about it -- the decorations, the food, the staff, the venue, even the trays used to pass the hors d'oeuvres -- were absolutely perfect. Wonderful stay -- and I hope to return!

- duffyh (10/5): Highly recommend...quiet and convenient! - I would highly recommend this hotel. It was very quiet. I usually have a hard time sleeping in hotels due to noise. Not here. The walls are thick (did not hear neighbor) and the AC fan had a constant setting (don't hear it kicking on and off making loud noises). Great having restaurants literally downstairs. They come in handy! Perfect when visiting Univ. of Maryland.
- baniyalila (10/5): Conference Venu is super - It's just opposite to University of Maryland and I was in this hotel only to attend two days training program. Conference venue was well equipped and comfortable. Clean restroom with lot of space . Fast food restaurant within Hotel was not bad but during the conference day I need to wait a longer time due to many people so next day walk few more distance where I found different types of restaurant. So the hotel is convenient and I have comfortable time

- Monae (4/5): It's A One-&-Done For Us - I liked the location being right across the street from UMD. The hotel appeared to be very clean and well kept 1. The room lighting controls were very limited and I prefer to manually turn on just one bedside light or lamp without having to turn ALL the lights on 2. The toilet was so incredibly low to the floor - In fact, it honestly reminded me of the toilets that the little preschoolers and kindergartners use. I really hated it. 3. For the price, the rooms should be equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave. 4. Parking should be included in the cost of the room. 5. The view of the roof and the metal generators, etc was just horrendous.

- nancim513 (10/5): Had a marvelous comfortable stay at The Hotel at the U. of MD - I attended a conference here with friends, and we were thrilled with the welcoming professional staff who took care of everything with a smile, the number and variety of spaces for our classes, our large clean room with all the necessities, the restaurants within the building and around the neighborhood, and all of the conversation niches everywhere. The atmosphere and architecture was airy and expansive so there are no problems with noise levels, whether chatting or singing. My friends and I are looking forward to returning next year and experiencing more of the eateries and shops within walking distance, plus the beautiful labyrinth next to the Memorial Chapel just a 10-minute walk away on the college campus.

- derickn2026 (10/5): Great hotel with an outstanding service. - Great location within a mile radius to shopping, food places and also to public transportation (buses & train station) And also a mile away-off the beltway. Spacious guest rooms kept clean and cozy!!! Great relaxation ambience with hospitable stuff. The place is kept clean and there is plenty of amenities I would recommend taking advantage of such as the pool, spar, fitness center, business center and not to forget the great restaurant choices.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-designed, with convenient controls for lighting and window shades. Everything felt clean and fresh—no humidity issues at all. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and both the check-in process and parking were smooth and hassle-free. I also appreciated the wide variety of nearby dining options. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in the area. The pool was a little chilly.
