Guest Reviews

- Amber (8/5): It did the job as a good base for hiking in the local area. - Great location for hikes and exploring the area. Was very basic with limited times for hot water but we expected this as it's a working farm so not a problem.
- chi wei (7/5): -
- Jeanette (9/5): Peaceful, quaint and value for money place to enjoy Alishan area. - Amazing place to stay if you’re looking to hike around Shizhuo area and get tea farm views. You can access the hiking trails directly.
We booked the tea ceremony in advance and we’re so glad we did that. It was a great way to learn about the tea culture and also how to appreciate it. Loved the evening activities, mochi making was fun and also the tour around the farm to stargaze and learn about the different plants/fruits.
Beds were super comfy and comes with heated mattress which we didn’t use but must come in handy during colder nights! Everything was clean and food was simple, healthy but yummy.
A little remote but they do provide shuttle service so that was handy! Wish there were a little more daytime activities we could opt in/pay for to experience the farm a little better, especially as we didn’t have a car to drive around to other places nearby.
- Nawaaz (8/5): - We had a car, so the farm was very easily accessible, which also gave us a lot of flexibility for the area.
The rooms and beds were very comfortable and you have a very direct access to the walking trails. I recommend taking the trek to go watch the sunrise if you can. The dinner is good and the quantity is plenty, but it might be a bit difficult if you don't enjoy traditional Taiwanese meals

- Patria (10/5): Lovely stay with Cloud trail at the doorstep - The breakfast and dinner were great - a good spread of healthy and delicious farm-grown dishes. We enjoyed the after-dinner activities like mochi-making (activites vary based on the season). The location is really good for star-gazing and exploring the shizhuo trails too. The hosts are friendly and the farm also provides shuttle services to and fro fenchihu/shizhuo stations. Highly recommended! -
- Tobias (9/5): Superb -
- Anneke (10/5): Exceptional - We only stayed for one night (we'd recommend two though!) but due to construction work on one of the buildings we got a free room Upgrade and the mountainview from the windows but also generally from everywhere on the Farm grounds was just breathtaking. The food was good and there were even a free Mochi-making Workshop and a little night walk around the Farm included. Even though the letter were completely in chinese (which we don't speek) we still joined and had a lot of fun. We also really enjoyed the calm and quiet atmosphere, and as a Bonus we did not need a car to get to the Farm, as a Shuttle Service from and to the Bus Station in Shizhao for arrival and departure was included. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the trails in that area are easily accessible from the Farm grounds. We enjoyed every second and hope to come back soon!
- Eleonore (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (5/5): Affordable but don’t stay here if you can’t climb lots of stairs with your luggage - Room was large. The moshi making activity was fun. There was noisy construction going on during our tea ceremony (which wasn’t in a forest or peaceful). They asked us to do the ceremony at 3pm when the jack hammers were going - we paid quite a bit extra for this which was totally not worth it. The food was plentiful but bland. Getting our luggage to the room was a challenge as we first had to walk up a steep hill and then many flights of stairs.
- Lisa (10/5): Loved everything - We loved everything about it! We stayed here for one night. Our room was upgraded when we arrived, and they were so nice to drive us to and from Fenqihu old street as well as to back to Shizhao station after we checked out. The dinner was a great Asian style, and after dinner, we were invited to a tea ceremony! We talked for hours with the workers, and we enjoyed it so much. They also recommended a nice home stay in Hualien, which we ended up visiting later during our trip. We will definitely come back here when we visit again!
- Teresa (9/5): Superb -
- Makayla (10/5): Exceptional -
(8/5): Would come back, great stay in the mountains for a night.n - Love the mochi making session and short tour around the resort. Heating function for the bed was a real bonus during the cold winter nights, great view of the mountains and easy drive to Fenqihu old street. Pet-friendly :) Size of towel is only an A3 paper size at best, not ideal for the ladies who would liked to wash their hair. Not easy for elderly people or those who have plenty of luggages as you need to lug them up a long flight of stairs/ steep slopes.
- Muhamad (8/5): Overall it was good stay and staff are friendly and helpfull - The room was specious and they also provide halal breakfast and dinner during your stay. Just request direct from them early before checkin and they will provide for you. good for muslim like us so that we dont have to look for food outside the property If we have big luggage better to get ground floor room and luckily my room is at 1st floor. I only need to pull my luggage up small hill.
- Eyal (9/5): Superb - The location was absolutely perfect. The staff were great. Enjoyed very much. There was a very limited variety of food during breakfast and dinner .
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - We had a gorgeous view out of our room. The location was beautiful, the staff very friendly. We had a great time! Everything was clean and comfortable. The walls and doors where a little bit thin. So we heard the people in the other rooms talking and slamming doors. But it wasn’t too bad and was okay.
- Jitka (9/5): Superb - Very friendly staff, clean rooms. Accompanying program for accommodated guests. Typical local food.
- Anton (7/5): Nice farm surrounded by tea plantations. - Beautiful surroundings.
Great local tea.
Staff gave us a lift to the train station.
Friendly dog. The farm seems to cater mainly to large groups, so feels less personal than other places in the area.
Gets noisy in the evenings.
No tea for breakfast, food selection quite limited.
- Susan (9/5): Great location in Alishan - This place was high in the tea plantations of Alishan !
Had a good traditional breakfast!
The room was spacious for 4 of us & beds were very comfortable!! Also provided a very good dinner & a mochi making session in the evening!! Nothing
- Stephane (8/5): Very good -
- Wesley (8/5): Premium price point that is worth it more for locals than tourists - Long Yun Farm is an interesting place to stay up in the hills and nestled in amongst the tea fields. The rooms are spacious and quite clean and the staff were very friendly. The quality of the dinner buffet was very good too. They also offer a number of free activities like star gazing and Mochi ball making. Some nice walks right on your doorstep with beautiful rooms. This place almost exclusively caters for local guests which can make you feel like a bit of an outsider if you don’t speak Chinese. The activities were run exclusively in Chinese and all announcements also made in Chinese. The staff did their best to explain things if you grabbed them but it made it hard to engage. We were unfortunate with the weather so missed out on star gazing which was a major factor for booking which didn’t help. The walls of the property were also quite thin and the family next to us had their kids running around and screaming all night which was very annoying. Breakfast options were not as good as the dinner.
- Peggy (10/5): Beautiful stay, friendly and efficient staff - Staff were extremely responsive via Booking.com and picked me up/dropped me off at Shizhuo bus stop with zero hassle. Rooms are spacious, surrounding tea farm and Cloud Trail are beautiful. Public transport around the area are quite sparse, although it didn't stop me from going to Fenqihu or Shizhuo.
- Maarten (4/5): Disappointing -
- Pat (5/5): Disappointing - The location. Close to hiking trails. Good views This facility caters to bus tours. The beds were hard. The food was the same everyday and not that great. The staff were not friendly or helpful…it was all about “business”
- Katy (8/5): Very good -
- Avi (8/5): Very good - The farm is located near tea fields with amazing mountain views. It is located remotely hence very quiet.
Room was clean and comfortable. Had a huge window with nice views.
- Victoria (9/5): Peaceful stay - The farm is a bit remote from the village, but that is also what makes it special. The surroundings are very peaceful. You will wake up in the morning only hearing birds!
The room was spacious and clean.
The road to access is well maintained. The breakfast only had Chinese options, which makes it a bit difficult for foreigners.
- Ian (10/5): Amazing and highly recommended - Everything. Authentic tea garden experience with great views, great staff, great food and great tea. Shizhao and Shizhuo are used interchangeably in the region, which is not their fault. This led to some minor confusion when getting to the bus station. Transfer was otherwise fuss free.
- Jp (9/5): Superb - Loved the nature hike, the tea tasting, and the provided meals. The farm surroundings were beautiful. Wished there were more attention to hygiene - have soap available for hand washing, hand sanitizer especially for group events
- Noy (6/5): Pleasant - The room was big and clean, beautiful place. Dinner was not so great, we didnt stay for breakfast because of that. The place organized a short tour and we wanted to participate but we weren't told that the whole guide would be in Chinese only, so we couldn't understand anything and left. Overall, we did not feel that there was value for the very high price we paid, neither in terms of the room nor in terms of the facilities, the food and the area. Not a good experience
- Monika (7/5): Good -
- May (8/5): Comfortable stay in a serene location - The farm is located at a dead end so it's a very quiet area. The room was huge (they gave us an upgrade) and has a sunroof! The building directly faces the tea garden, and it's easy access to the Cloud Trail. It seems to cater to tour groups so it can get quite busy at the restaurant during mealtimes. The access to the room is hilly (there are stairs only), and the carpark is quite distance.
- Undrakh (8/5): Very good - great amenities, the room had tons of space the location is a little tricky, you have to follow the
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful stay right in the tea fields. Almost every homestay in Shizhuo has its own tea farm, so look into location when deciding. Long Yun is at the top of the hill - great for views and certain hikes like Tea/Cloud trail, but far from the center of village if you want to try other more famous hiking trails like Sakura. Owner / staff at property was extremely nice - picked us up at the bus, and dropped us off. Also did a private tea tasting for the tea they grew. Wonderful experience, and nice rooms. The breakfast and dinner was traditional home style cooking - which really felt like home!
- Emily (10/5): Wonderful stay and great food - The dinner was truly excellent. Given all meals are included, the hotel was great value for money. The staff also took us on a nighttime walk after dinner. The hotel itself is in a beautiful tea field and very remote. The rooms were comfortable and warm in the winter but - remember to bring your own towel! The hotel is in beautiful tea fields but make sure to drive up when the sun is still out. The road is quite windy and steep and due to the remote location of the hotel, driving at night may be quite dangerous.
- Shermin (9/5): Exceeded our expectations - It exceeded our expectations. The staff also hosted night activities such as mua chi making and star gazing. Really occupied our night and its also one of the spot to see the stars None
- Wai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maximilian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vera (8/5): Very good -
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
