Guest Reviews
- Carolyn (8/5): -
- Hutt (5/5): - Location Bed was very uncomfortable
- Rebecca (10/5): - The Dorset is such value for money with a complimentary continental breakfast too.
Our room was lovely, well decorated and really clean, it wasn't large but the prefect size for us. Again in the room there were complimentary water and biscuits as well as the normal tea and coffee. The staff were really friendly and the pub atmosphere at dinner was great. We stayed as part of walking the south downs way and it is a little off the trail, but you can walk to the door. Although we got an uber to and from the trail. Nothing,
- Gould (9/5): - Staff were super friendly and food was very good.

- Juliet (7/5): Staff were very friendly and helpful - The room was perfect and quiet The internet cut out at times. The carpet could have done with a good clean and the shower around the door could have had a better clean but this is only given as positive feedback

- Philip (10/5): Brilliant and convenient - Stayed one night as visiting Harveyâs brewery. Great pub/hotel, room was comfy clean and had everything needed including a decent coffee machine. Shower had plenty of hot water and was great. Welcome was also brilliant and we ate and the food was perfect. I wouldnât hesitate in recommending this place to stay. Nothing

- Jenny (4/5): - Lewes Bed, was v uncomfortable
Gap under door let light in from corridor
Shower door vv tight
- Cooper (7/5): - The location and size of the room. My room wasn't cleaned after the first night of two.
Nowhere to put toiletries in the bathroom.
All it needs is a wire rack or shelves.
Toilet seat was loose.
Quite cold until the heating came on in the afternoon.
A fridge would be useful.
- Roben (8/5): -
- Jason (10/5): Convenient location, comfortable room and clean bathroom. - I just needed a need for the night after a night out in Lewes so this was perfect. Nothing

- Matthew (10/5): Great location, friendly hospitable staff - Great location More breakfast options, going on til later
- Neil (8/5): -
- Greiner (9/5): - Nice clean bedroom. I had a hairdryer and iron & ironing board. I had a great night's sleep. I ordered a Mac & cheese & side salad. I couldn't eat the Mac & cheese as it was very greasy. But the salad was ok.

- James (8/5): - all went well
- Robert (7/5): Reasonable comfort and value and friendly staff. - Handy to be able to use the pub restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable large double room. The bed in the small double room was very firm.

- Carol (8/5): - Easy to access. Good location for going into Lewes. Nearby car park with free overnight parking. Good value. Nothing really.
- DAVID (7/5): Ok for a short stay for attending a wedding but wouldnât stay for any other reason - Basic accommodation no frills but no complaints A bit tired and basic
- Jonathan (7/5): - Large room, comfortable bed, good location at a budget price, friendly staff Noise from pub downstairs but at least it ended shortly after 11 and we were out for most of the evening so it didn't really bother us too much
- Jocelyn (9/5): - Friendly, helpful staff. Good food. Comfortable rooms / bed Quite warm in the room and bathroom.
- akerr99 (8/5): Great value location in Lewes - Great location, friendly staff and super value room Nothing

- Linda (7/5): -
- John (10/5): I love the Dorset, itâs my home from home when staying in East Sussex. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are - The rooms are clean, tidy and cozy. The pub is fantastic, with great staff and clientele. Iâve been drinking here when in Sussex for forty years and itâs always stayed the same. A beacon of Lewes hospitality.
- Abi (9/5): -
- Ezekiel (8/5): -
- Victoria (8/5): -
- Yuki (5/5): - There were towels left in the bathroom from the previous guest.
Some water and used empty cupsule was still in the espresso machine.
The chair in the room was almost broken.
- Dave (5/5): - I didnât take breakfast. The room was very clean.
- James (7/5): -
- John (10/5): A lovely pub with a good standard of accommodation attached in a lovely town, selling the best beer in the world, Harvey - The Dorset, for me has always had a lovely, cozy, warm feeling, as if Iâve come home. There is nothing to dislike
- Sarah (8/5): - Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom. The window was open when we arrived and the room was freezing, so we ended up going out earlier than intended. On our return at the end of our evening out it had warmed up.
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- Heinrich (10/5): Really had a good visit there. -
- Gill (7/5): Great location, good budget accommodation. . - Location.
- Kathie (8/5): Good budget stay. - Despite seeing a bad review I thought my room was great for the price. Clean, crisp white sheets, good pillows, tea/coffee & kettle. Good shower.
- Alan (8/5): - Really enjoyed are stay and would definitely stay again. Hadnât realised the price included a simple complimentary breakfast. Stayed on a Tuesday night and very quiet.
- Denise Jane (6/5): To be fair the noise of the pub stopped at 1100 sharp, which was good as it can be heard upstairs. - The room was cold on arrival as the heating was off. This was turned on later.
There was no hot water the next mornin Hot water
- Elizabeth (6/5): - A good value for money hotel in a convenient location.
- Philip (3/5): Great location but penny pinching by not turning heating on spoilt the visit somewhat. - Location for my needs was fine and the pub is part of the building. Access to the room was through the pub when it was open and via a dedicated entrance when the pub was closed. It was not entirely clear about car parking; there is none on site and a public pay car park must be used. It was cold and there was no heating in the room. The staff solution was to provide another duvet. This is not good enough!
- Elizabeth (7/5): -
- Helen (10/5): -
- Rosalind (7/5): Perfectly adequate facilities offered for a short stay and reasonable price - LOcation, staff and friendly atmosphere
- Ian (8/5): - Large room, friendly staff.
- Steve (10/5): -
- Alice (10/5): - Everything was great. The room was clean. The bed was comfy. The food was great. The location was perfect. Nothing.
- Martin (5/5): - A convenient place for a one night stay. Good beer. A slightly seedy boozer with very ordinary breakfast.
- geraldine (8/5): Nice place. - Was comfortable. Breakfast was a bonus. Being woken up.
- Sean (1/5): - Staff Walls in bedroom dripping with water
- Jonathan (8/5): Excellent, clean - Very good clean with excellent staff. A little noisy early evening I think it was plant machinery which went off at 9:30 pm which was good.
- Rawlings (7/5): - Staff great room great Breakfast was disappointing tho
- Thomas (8/5): Nice place to stay. - Friendly staff, easy to locate and nice area. Had a meal in the pub which was good too!
- Rob377072 (7/5): Great value for money with friendly staff. - Location and easy to park close to the premises. The staff were excellent (although they did forget to knock 15% off my restaurant bill). Food want bad and it was well priced. Bed wasn't fantastic, but I did have a good nights sleep.
- carol (9/5): - Very convenient location, comfortable, good value money Breakfast was a bit sparce.
- Fiona (7/5): Lovely basic room - Location was great. Lovely staff. Nice breakfast. Room was cold when we arrived. There was a lot of noise because our room was above the dining room and music. Room needs more hooks
- Maureen (8/5): - A comfortable ensuite room in a charming old pub. Even had a coffee machine and pods.
Friendly welcoming staff. And a good complementary breakfast. . Nothing
- charlotte (10/5): -
- Craig (7/5): - The location, cleanliness, access to parking (paid), welcoming staff The rooms are ready for a major refreh
- Stephanie (10/5): Great little pub in the heart of Lewes. - Great location and atmosphere. N/a
- Anne (8/5): -
- Rory (8/5): Good value for money - Proximity to centre, lovely setting, great value for money. There might be more challenges in high season.
- Stephen (9/5): - Room was well equipped with iron & ironing board, kettle, tea, coffee & coffee maker (pods). The breakfast was adequate, but there is Bills round the corner for a full English. Parking opposite the pub, park all day, be aware you do have to move your car for 2 hours to allow you to stay longer. If you want to abandon the car for the full stay there is long stay parking at the railway station. Nothing
- Eldridge (8/5): -
- Mike (5/5): - Location was good with cheap parking nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shower leaked badly, window difficult to open and adjust, no reference to the fact that the room would not be cleaned or facilities replenished. Not really an issue but it should have been stated.
Breakfast was very poor; basic with poor quality products supplied. It put us off eating other meals there.
- Regina (7/5): -
- Geoffrey (4/5): Disappointing - Convenient location No heating in room (oh, timers need changing reported staff) âtiredâ rooms, no blind at bathroom window, upon entering the bar greeted by dirty, threadbare carpet.
Someone needs to give this venue some TLC
- lee (8/5): Good pub in Great location - Nice pub, good staff
- Robert (1/5): Would NOT stay again - Location Room grubby, shower fell off wall, bedding poor quality, no pillow protectors, bedside lamps faulty, very noisy on Sat. night.
Breakfast dreadful... no cups, no bread to put in toaster, fruit juice containers empty, no staff around.
