Restaurant was nice, capturing lovely views and food was very good. Room was very dated and a little cold, however a small fan heater supplied. Chairs in room past their best, seats too soft and low to sit and appreciate view from window over the bay.

Very well run hotel with professional people. Our trip to Portpatrick was fab. It was my husbands birthday celebration so we booked a superior sea view balcony room. The weather was great and allowed us to enjoy time out on the large balcony which had outstanding views of the Sea, Harbour and village. Food in the resturant where we Breakfast each morning and and Dinner one evening this was really good and with views again. Shout out to all the fabulous staff and Rosie the manager for helping to make our stay memorable. Well done Fernhill!

- Phil (8/5): Great hotel, stunning harbour views and close to Ireland ferries. - Fabulous location overlooking the beautiful harbour of Portpatrick. Perfect stay near the ferry terminals to Ireland. Rooms were dated and a bit tired, but excellent value.

We had a room with a balcony, very relaxing sitting there and looking at the views, with bonus of lovely sunny weather. Had dinner, bed and breakfast, food was lovely and the staff were exceptional. Very good value for money and would definitely go again.

Overall, a really enjoyable stay. Location was perfect too and the view from the balcony was something special. Black pudding and Lorne sausage in my Scottish breakfast would have been most welcome. Not a complaint by any means though.

Food was always hot. Staff were always pleasant, helpful and asked if everything was OK.
Tables thoughtfully positioned in the conservatory. Room 47 badly needs a coat of paint - it's tired and shabby.
Pillows were misshapen and lumpy - they need to be replaced.
Mattress was uncomfortably soft - I didn't sleep well and that was one of the reasons for taking a break.

The fireplace did not work - the gas has been disconnected but the staff gave us a portable heater which worked really well.

- Gary (9/5): Lovely, peaceful scenic place to stay - Location, views, the friendly and attentive staff, the room size, nice shower, quiet location, value for money, great quality food (best poached eggs!) and very dog friendly. Not a didn't like, but some aspects of the hotel and rooms need updating. Carpets were discolouring, artwork is dated, soft furnishings need replacing but other than that, it is clean and a lovely place to stay.

Rooms had everything you need for your stay , comfy kingsize bed , bath with shower along with toiletries and hairdryer ..furnature was abit dated but did not look out of place .Tea , coffee , suger and biscuits could not fault anything.
Staff were so friendly and helpfull especially lady on checkin desk ( sorry i didnt get her name) we would definately return ☺️

- John (10/5): FABULOUS - The room was spacious, the towels were luxurious, loved having a bath as well as a shower, felt like we were spoiled, breakfast was well above the norm, staff looked after our needs perfectly. Not anything was to unlike.

- WilliamH4259 (10/5): March 26 overnight stay. - Our first time in Portpatrick and the Fernhill hotel, we booked a deal through itison. Hotel is very nice, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, we were also given a free upgrade, we had a room with amazing sea views and a balcony, 2 big comfy leather chairs and a queen size bed which was really comfortable.
We ate in the restaurant which also boasts amazing views, food was excellent and service also. I definitely recommend this hotel, we can't wait to go back again.
